Super impressive! My son has been here several times & swears it's the best pizza joint in AZ. Took me here for a Mom & Son meal & I'd have to agree thus far the best pie I've tasted in Arizona. Can dine in or carry out. Both were busy when we were there & we chose to dine in. Clean dining room with plenty of seating & the decor is so traditionally NY! Started with their house salad which is romaine lettuce, carrots, onion, sliced cucumber, black olives & fresh cut tomatoes. It was a generous size, crisp & delicious. Ordered the large Margherita Pie with homemade marinara sauce, house made mozzarella, fresh basil & added pepperoni. Arrived piping hot! Authentic NY style- hand tossed & house spun with a slight touch of fermented flavor to the crust which made it absolutely top notch! Mozzarella was melted to perfection! The pie texture had a slight crunch to it, stood up to all the delicious toppings & the savoriness of all those ingredients combined was that "Maillard Reaction" that pizza is so sought after for! Accompanied that outstanding pizza with a delicious Canyon Road white zin (2020) that was by far my favorite wine yet! Definitely heading back soon! Seek to support these types of business. Viral pizza?!?! You have got to be kidding me. If you are one of the people that are waiting 2 hours for this pizza, you seriously need to reevaluate your life decisions. Knowing about the hype, we decided to try Amici again after several years of not being a patron. Expecting an amazing pizza, that was simply not the experience. We ordered a large pepperoni and open the box to find maybe 18 little cupped pepperoni spread out on this pizza. Sorry thing looked like it came from Peter Piper. And then we can talk about the cheese and the crust; it was a floppy, playdoughy, gross experience that carried it's presence into the next morning. Newsflash, a pizza crust is supposed to be crisp, not spongy. I hate this place. We came because of tiktok and that will be last time I trust tiktok. As you can see in the pictures the cheese and everything in the calzone was cold. Cheese didn't even melt. Also had no flavor whatsoever so ever. The bread/crust was good though. The pizza, forgot the name of it but it was a weird name, had uncooked jalapeno and onion on it. Was also cold when it came to the table. The best thing we ate here was the mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. Mozzarella sticks were good but not mind blowing. Same for the garlic knots. Over-hyped and over-priced. I paid $38.45 for a 14" Cheese pizza and 14" Pepperoni pizza, and they hardly put any sauce on either of them. I checked online to see what their other pizzas look like, and turns out light sauce seems to be how they serve their pies. Very underwhelming and disappointing. I have no idea how this place is such a sensation. This pizzeria was a lot better when it was Buono's. Of course the food was amazing and the restaurant inside had a home style vibe which i loved, but the coworkers and the owner (who we talked to and loved, she was so very sweet) work so well together it's like family. We went to Amici on a Saturday night and we were told that the wait would be 2 hours. You have to check-in in-person, there are no call ahead or online check-in options. We put our name on the list and then left to go shopping we came back after 45 mins and waited for another 10 before our name was called. So keep that in mind while you wait that the time quoted is about 45 mins to 1 hr longer than it actually is. I think this is because so many people put their names on the list and then leave. The garlic knots were absolutely delicious, best thing on the menu. We got the cheese pizza and the bow tie pasta and they were both good. Next the Square Grandmas pizza rocked our palettes. We also tried that alongside a full Vodka Pizza. Tip: Add Pepperoni to both. Other reviews raved about their Shirley Temples, and I was skeptical cle but the reviews are right, they do have the crispiest Shirley Temple I've ever had! Service was exceptional. Everything came out in a timely fashion. We were done eating and paid in 55 minutes. Everything we had was exceptional. I've seen videos all over TikTok about Amici, my family wanted to try it out. We bought one Pepperoni pizza, it was really good, one BBQ Chicken, it was dry and hard to eat, the only sauce it had was the drizzle of bbq sauce on top. So went here on a Monday morning around 12 pm and we only waited like ten mins for table of three . All three of us are servers at an Italian restaurant so we wanted to check them out ! The garlic knots were delicious, fried ravioli I wouldn't recommend they could be stuffed more cheese and maybe like a vodka dipping sauce . Of course we got Shirley temples which were fire ! Salad was had lots of dressing which I love ! Now let's get to what we came to try ,the pizza !! Ok this is a hidden food gem. Ok maybe not hidden. Get there early because there is a line. Why you ask? The restaurant is unassuming in a strip mall. The decor is blah. No frills tables and chairs. So why all the fuss? THE FOOD! They offer a variety of styles and doughs. The must try is the rice balls (get there early they run out of Mac-n-cheese). The name is hard but they are great. You have to try the grandma style pizza (sauce on top), it is different and tasty. The vodka pizza is another go to. And I hate to be this guy...the cannolis. My daughter and I like to follow restaurants to try on TikTok and we've wanted to go here for the longest time. We reside in Mesa, but we didn't wanna have to wait too long. I decided yesterday, what the heck let's go. The wait was 45 minutes, but let me tell you this, it was worth the wait. We had a pizza with you various toppings that we all were able to pick and we had the mozzarella sticks appetizer. I almost forgot to mention the amazing Shirley Temple. We came here a Friday night at around 7:30 after seeing some videos on tik tok. There were two families having dinner when we got there. we sat and were given menus right away. We ordered 2 pepsis a large pizza with pepperoni, jalapeño and sausage with 6 piece wings. The food came out pretty fast. The pizza was thin and delicious. It was very hot so we waited a little bit but it was delicious. The jalapeño was not the one you get from a can. The wings were also very good the only "bad" thing was that they were not really hot they were more mild in my opinion but I do eat very spicy food on the daily. The girl in charge was on top of getting us drinks as soon as we needed refills. Not a lot of people came in for dine in but there were lots of pick ups while we were there. They were definitely busy! At the end of our meal we were given free cannolis! I had never tried them but I will definitely order them from now on because they were delicious! Was able to slide into a table for 2 around 4pm last night, without waiting. Tried to come here last month and was informed the wait was 1.5 hours. I tried to order a slice but found out they don't offer them after 3pm so I opted for the vodka bow tie pasta with meatballs. I never received my order of fresh bread like the menu states - however, I just remembered that. If I came here and only had that dish, I'm not sure I would understand the hype. I love vodka sauce dishes and this was just okay, in my opinion. The fact that I didn't get my bread and the up-charge for 2 golf ball sized meatballs is almost $6 -- yikes. My fiancé ordered a pepperoni calzone. My pasta came out about 20 minutes before his calzone. I HATE that. We are dining out together, if I wanted to eat dinner separately I would. Either work on timing of dishes or tell diners "we bring food out as it comes up, is that okay?" Let us decide. The calzone deserves its own paragraph -- it was divine. Well worth the wait, and of course since I finished my plate I had to steal bites of his. The ricotta cheese was the best ricotta I've ever tasted, it was so delicate and creamy. Tried Amici for the first time today. We're so happy we found this place. The food was really good and so was the service. They have several daily specials that include a slice of pizza, wings, garlic knots and salad. The pizza slice had a thin crust and was very big. We also tried Manicotti which is one of my favorites at an Italian restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to see they used homemade pasta and not premade shells. They get double points for that. Others in our party tried the garlic Parmesan and honey hot wings. Big wings and both types had great flavor. We topped it off with an order of Zeppoli and Lemoncello cake. Both excellent choices! To start the Shirley temples were a perfect ratio of cherry to sprite, not syrupy in the slightest. I had the fried ravioli and garlic bread with mozzarella to start and both were absolutely incredible. The garlic bread was crispy on the bottom and cheesy and pillowy on the top. 10/10 cheese pull.
