I have lived in Baltimore for 8 years. Little Italy is the first place I went to eat out when I first moved here, Amicci's specifically. I have taken every out of town guest to Amicci's ever since, and everybody always loves it. It is my "go to" Italian in Little Italy. I was reading other reviews, mostly to see what other people's favorite dishes were. But I came across some complaints, and I wanted to over up a differing opinion. First of all, this restaurant is quite large, so you can usually get a table. It's also quite modern compared to some of the other places in Little Italy that have disgusting, old carpet. It's a kid-friendly restaurant, so it's great for families as well as friends and dates. My two favorite dishes are the Jody's Gnocci and Penne Amicci. I think they're both fairly unique, and the portions are large so you can lunch for the next day. As for someone's complaint about the house dressing being "hard to get down," I totally disagree. Amicci's house dressing is hands-down my favorite. I always order a house salad. Also, it's fairly common for house salads and ceasar salads to be tossed with the dressing. So I don't understand the complaint about dressing not being served on the side. If you don't want something the way it's served, then don't order it. Some things are made a certain way for a reason. It's ok for Olive Garden (a chain!) to put dressing on their salads but not Amicci's (a family owned local establishment)? The menu has great house specialties, seafood selections, and a small vegetarian section. If someone is going to an Italian restaurant and doesn't want pasta, I question why they are going there. (Although, it would be great if all Italian restaurants offered a gluten-free option for those with allergies.) And if a guest is searching for an option sans pasta, there are starters that offer just that, such as a ceasar salad with chicken or the mussels. And lastly, it's 2014....the internet is everywhere. And Amicci's is very up front about their policies. If you don't wish to pay an upcharge for changes or you want more dishes with less pasta, then read the menu before you go, and choose a different place. Amicci's food, service, atmosphere, and prices are great. If you live in Baltimore or are visiting, hit up this restaurant. Don't listen to the debbie downers out there. Amicci's is the best restaurant in Little Italy and one of the best in Baltimore. read more

We asked the staff at our Inner Harbor hotel for a recommendation in Little Italy and were told about Amicci's. We were not disappointed. We liked the laid-back atmosphere, and the service was excellent. We had to try to Pane Rotundo and it was amazing. Our entrees were the Chicken Bianco, Veal Valentino (both excellent) and Fetticcinni Alfredo with chicken and brocolli (a little bland). The portions were very large. Top notch and ohh soo good! When you first walk into Little Italy, you think you're in Italian food heaven because you surrounded by Italian restaurants. This is true but Amicci's has set itself above the rest! Most of the other places around Little Italy all have an upscale, fancy, vibe when walk in the door. At Amicci's there is an inviting vibe from the moment you step up to the hostess station. Amicci's offers a full bar with TV's bar stools, which is a big plus over the other places.. they offer a bar, but it a super quiet, no personality bar. So we bypassed the bar and were taken to some back room (Amicci's) IS a maze! They have side room after side room, which is kinda cool so your not sitting in a giant open room. It makes it feel more close and personal, a def plus to the over exp. Once seating your greeting by a two sided menu which is neither too small or too big... its just right... they don't try to overwhelm you with you hundreds of different options and they don't just offer 5 things and expect everyone to conform to the cooks whim. They have all the Italian classics and much more. They even offer 4-6 vegetarian options along with the fact that if the kitchen is NOT super busy they will sub just about anything (meaning: they can make just about anything vegetarian, BIG plus in my book!) So the party looked over the menu and were ready to dive in... first things first... garlic bread... Amicci's does not give you the standard bread with oil for free... downer in my book, but when you pay the $3.00 for the garlic bread, you see why its $3.00, you get several giant slices of some of the best garlic bread I have had... its crispy but yet chewy, with a ton of flavor and seasoning... they also coat the outside of it with Italian seasoning and some other things which makes it heaven! (I sincerely feel bad for anyone who had declared war on carbs!) Ok once we got that, the food came out soon after, especially since we had a party of 6 with one toddler (so plus for quick food service). The food!! Oh man the food!! Holy Tuscany the food was some of the best Italian food I have had in Little Italy! It was so good, everything cooked and prepared to perfection! (Big Plus) Now I will say this, Amicci's is not your standard Little Italy place, where the food is presented perfectly and the service can sometimes be 5 star restaurantish ... no Amicci's is your down home, I come here for the awesome food type of place! Again all the food was outstanding from the Chicken to Gnocchi (which was light, fluffy, not tacky and heavy) it was ALL good... I am not kidding you 6 people ordered and ALL 6 walked away too full because they tried to finish the enormous portions, bad idea afterwards but GREAT idea during Price and Service, Amicci's gets top stars for this too... the prices are basically Olive Garden prices, not the 20+ you spend at other places, that is a HUGE plus for me... on top of that I am not a huge fancy, the food needs to be presented perfectly type of guy. Give me the food, make it taste awesome, provide me with good service and I am willing to pay a decent price... nothing too off the wall right? (I really hope someone agrees with me) The service is good as well, the server was knowledgeable and very helpful So overall again Amicci's is one of the best places in Little Italy when it comes to, Food, Price and Service, a must try if you are in the mood for good Italian at a reasonable price... This place was a joke. For little italy I am suprised this menu continues. The dude said the sausage was great. Everything else was a miss. My biggest pet peeve is the whole "substitutions and modifications will have a charge". When the food is blah and the servers are wearing jeans, this is complete BS. Add something, yeah charge me. But im helping your food cost by leaving items out. And the menu is soooo repetitive. Had a caesar, garlic bread, tomato caprese, some alfredo with chicken, and clams and red sauce. We went here the day before Thanksgiving as we were in town visiting family. The host staff seemed really flustered that there were so many people wanting to come to the restaurant. It didn't seem overly busy, but the staff seemed stressed and were a little gruff because of it. Our waitress was nice and helped explain the different options on the menu. Went to Amicci's because it was a late night spot in Baltimore (which I hear can be a rarity). While I didn't have an entree, my friends did and I tried both. Pluses: wine specials (since they're changing their wine menu and purging some), great bread, good tiramisu, nice atmosphere. Minuses: Friend's spicy gnocchi (tomato sauce/vegetables) dish was almost too spicy (obviously this is subjective, but I thought it overpowered the rest of the flavors), other friend's pasta dish the waiter warned us was bland and sure enough was bland. If the waiter knows that, I think the chef should take note and experiment with the recipe a little! Otherwise, fairly enjoyable and would go again to try my own entree. read more

Came here for lunch and had the veggie gnocchi (potato dumpling pasta), it was delicious. I've been here twice and the pasta is OMG perfect. I have sampled a few of the restaurants here in little italy and I can honestly say, this place serves some of the best pasta. Carrabba's is better I planned this trip just to go to Little Italy for some what I hope to be some great authentic Italian food. We booked our table on opentable.com so getting a seat wasn't a problem. Our waitress was nice and the atmosphere was nice. One of the waitresses was a little loud but nothing to frown about. I order chicken parmigiana and my fiancé ordered chicken Marsala. We got Caesar salads which in my opinion was a good portion size (small). It was good, just romaine lettuce, dressing, cheese, and one large crouton. We also ordered The lil Italy lemonade and the casa Cosmo, both were good ($7 each). Our food came out pretty fast but to me seemed like it had been sitting for a while because it wasn't hot as if it had just finished cooking. My chicken parm was just.....blah. Like something I could have fixed at home. I've had way better chicken parm at Carrabba's. My fiancé also preferred Carrabba's chicken Marsala. Mid meal we asked for some bread, it was cold. I don't know how we were suppose to melt the little pats of butter that was given to us. I'm not saying the food was bad it just wasn't what I hoped to be. read more

Hello. My family and I, 2 weeks ago visited Amiccis in Baltimore. I am a 53yr old disabled man with a service animal. Upon entering the establishment, i produced (which i, by federal law did not have to supply) my service animals credentials. I was told that i would have to eat "outside" because of my animal. I was denied several times and a scene was made. To say the least i was appalled, degraded, and was made to feel like shit and embarrassed in public because i have a service animal to assist me with daily mental issues. I then explained to the owner who at first was agreeing with the greeter. I had to explain myself again to him, all the time people now watching and listening, which embarrassed me further. After 10 min passed, we were finally seated, in a back room/isle way to the bathrooms and kitchen! Treated like I had some kind of disease! When we ordered drinks/alcohol, we were given cans to drink out of. I asked for glasses and was told all the glasses are dirty and being washed, and was left to drink from a can! As i became more furious, i contained myself to a courteous and polite manner. Our server was a young man, 2 months experience and did one hell of a job and his tip reflected that. As far as the food, (hopefully not sabotaged) was delicious. I was contemplating a federal lawsuit and a direct violation of the ADA. I really HOPE this establishment and owner, will in the future, educate themselves on service animals for the disabled, and abide by the laws for disabilities. When our meal was finished, me and my family received NO APOLOGY for their inconsiderate and selfish behavior. Just remember this Amiccis... not all disabilities are visable. Please, DO NOT do this again to any disabled patron that has a disability in the future, you may not receive a break next time. read more

amicci's had great italian food! service was great and all the servers were friendly. the price is very reasonable. we got their signature appetizer, pane rotundo, and that was very good. didn't finish all the garlic bread that the scrimp came on but definitely delicious. we also got their jill's jacked up scrimp. definitely was spicy and had a nice kick to it. i wouldnt order that unless you really like spicy foods. i would eat here again if im in the area. read more

Outstanding freshly prepared food for all tastes (meat and fish lovers; vegetarians). Friendly, well timed, engaged, attentive service. Starters: 3 huge meatballs/fresh ricotta in marinara sauce that is full of tomatoes and not too tart. Huge pieces of toasted garlic bread topped with cheese... very tasty but bread was a tad dry. Entrees: tortellini alfredo with peas and ham, yum! Shrimp Salerno excellent (spinach prosciutto roasted peppers over al dente spaghetti, in white wine and garlic sauce with a touch of cream). I have to say that being unable to have this dish with capellini, my personal favorite, was a bit of a downer ... still I'm giving a heartfelt thumbs up to this dish. House chianti was very good. Chocolate chip cannoli was very good and a large portion size; ricotta was a bit runny. All in all, we had a VERY HAPPY return to a fave place we hadn't visited in a couple of years! Great service, great atmosphere. Went just for dessert, and decided to stay even though it was clear this was more of a bar than a restaurant. The servers were really quick and friendly, and they have some great outdoor seating right in the middle of Little Italy. We ordered one of each of their only two desserts - tiramisu and cannoli. The portion size of the tiramisu was absurd, but it was nice to have a little to take home. It was pretty good, but both the tiramisu and the cannoli cream could have been a little colder. Seems like it had been sitting out for more than few minutes. But it still tasted great! We're definitely going back for drinks and dinner another time. read more

A cozy Italian restaurant tucked away in Little Italy, it will make you feel like your Italian grandmother is in the back kitchen cooking for you. I have been there twice and both times we did not have trouble being seated. In addition, I ordered the same thing both times lol. I was able to get a creamy marina sauce which was a combination of the marina sauce and their white, I believe, Alfredo sauce. It was delicious. While the items are a little pricey, the leftovers I took home both times were enough for at least two more meals. I do have to say that the second time I went we were seated on the second floor and the service took a little longer but it was great food and great company so it was not a huge issue at all! read more

I was born in Baltimore and have been going down to Little Italy since I was a kid. Because so many of the places have been down there forever, I still think of Amicci's as "new", but they've been around quite a while and it shows...in the best way. They've got something for everyone and there's never a misstep. Beautiful salads, cheesy spicy lasagna, fresh, perfectly cooked shrimp in a variety of sauce/pasta combinations as well as their signature appetizer and those are just my favorites. Over the last couple of years, the only problem I've ever had is deciding whether to stick with one of them or try something new. Take a look at their menu, and I'll bet you see something that you can't wait to get yourself and something you hope someone else orders so you can try it too. read more

Billed as "a very casual eatery", Amiccis is still someplace to dress up a bit to visit. The Shrimp appetizer is delicious and is highlighted in red on the menu to remind you to order it. I'm a big fan of Gnocchi and they had a variety of options for me to choose from, which is something that you don't too often see at Italian restaurants. I wouldn't say Amiccis is anything special, but it's good food with generous portions at a reasonable price, and though it can get a bit loud, the atmosphere is energetic and family-friendly. Any time someone asks me to recommend a restaurant in Little Italy, I tell them about Amicci's. It's the best food for your money in the whole neighborhood, especially if you go for the lunch special. Inexpensive doesn't mean low quality, though. I've never had a bad meal here. My partner and I were in Baltimore for the evening and went for a walk, looking for Italian food. We stumbled upon this place and went in, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and my partner ordered the House Gnocchi, My plate was good, but I had never had Gnocchi, so I took one bit of his and it was the bomb. We ended up trading plates, The servings are hugh, and the service was great. For the two of us we got out of there for around $50. That included two appetizers, and soda for drinks, and two dinners. Everyone we had contact with treated us as if they were our family. We will be going back here next time we are in Baltimore. read more

"A-OK" describes this place perfectly. Food came out hot, tasted fresh and accurately. Server was super friendly, but, was the only person assigned to our 20+ party which slowed service down a bit. Loved the amount of mushrooms on the Marsala, two *huge* links of sausage for a side dish but the sauce was too sweet for my preference. Also, the portion of chicken breast was small for a nearly $20 entree. Also, I was shocked to see not a single steak or fish offering on the menu. If you or someone in your party wants to get their protein fix on then choose another establishment. read more

This place was great. After a very wet afternoon, the kids and I walked over the multiple bridges from the Science Center and Yelped to see our Little Italy options that were kid friendly. We picked Amicci's for their reviews and varied menu. And the prices were reasonable. Garlic bread was hot out of the oven. Kids meals (not listed on the menus) were $6 and a decent size. My eldest loved her tortellini with meatball and suace. I had eggplant parmigiana. Ryan was our server and he did an excellent job anticipating our dining needs (and my need for that extra glass of wine!). I would go back in a heartbeat. We didn't do dessert here - but Ryan mentioned that the desserts were all homemade. So get there and enjoyable a delicious meal in a peaceful setting. read more
