Just shady stuff... They attempted the bait and switch with me also.. like everyone mentioned. I was messaging the online sales person at 9 am about a car that they said was in stock. by 10 am I was at the dealership. They told me the car just happened to be sold yesterday.. they showed me another car literally 5$ more which I saw on the website for a few days aswell.. same color.. no big deal right? I agree.. however it started to get weird from there... we took it for a test drive and it drove ok. There was a check engine light on.. the salesman told me it was just a gas cap.. so I said. Ok, I like it. But before we go further I'd like to plug a scan tool into it. A scan tool tells you exactly what the check engine light is.. the manager comes over and said they just got the car yesterday.. and that they didn't get a chance to service it to get the check engine light off. But wait.. it was listed on the site for days.. even if not.. they list a car for sale without knowing anything about it? Let alone, let me test drive it? Nice.. so the online salesperson lied about the car in stock. the sales guy lied About the check engine light being a gas cap.. they didn't know.. and the manager lied about when they got the vehicle.. then I for some reason googled the dealership.. cars.com has them at a 4.0 dealer rating.. Yelp.. has 2 stars. With over 100 1 star reviews. All with similar stories like mine. I told them I was just going to run for a bite to eat and walked out. There was a disgusting receptionist name Olga who yelled at me to get an Inspection 2 weeks later after the dealership which they failed to tell me this when I initially purchased the vehicle. For anyone looking to buy a car here, be aware that if you do not finance the vehicle through AMG, they will charge you around $2,000 ON TOP OF THE CAR'S SALES PRICE to cover for their lost bank commissions. I was about to travel from South Jersey to see a vehicle at their location, and am happy I found this out before I went. After having a terrible experience at another dealer, traveling 2.5 hours to this one was like a dream come true. I already had in mind the vehicle I wanted to see. Alan was my salesperson and it was like we were friends for years and it was my first time meeting him. There was no pressure from him to make a deal, no sales pitch, no trying to sweeten the deal with remarks about the car, absolutely no BS! AMG Auto is extremely accommodating. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This specific dealer I learned is very new (but the owners are not). If they keep this business practice up, they will be the best dealer in the state. I had some things that needed attention with the vehicle I purchased before the sale and after. Gene, the manager was incredible with resolving the issues. I needed to purchase a specific car on short notice and was told AMG Auto would hold the car for me for one day. I told them that I would be traveling to New Jersey to purchase the vehicle. After multiple confirmations that the vehicle wouldn't be sold before I arrived and after purchasing non-refundable plane and bus tickets to pick up the vehicle, I received a call saying that the vehicle had been sold on the day I first inquired about it. There were four separate phone calls between myself and the dealership discussing financing and my definite intent to purchase. Each one of them took place after they had already sold the car. I don't know if they simply slipped up or if they wanted to bait me into buying something more expensive upon arrival, but either way I am out several hundred dollars because AMG Auto doesn't know how to conduct business. These people cannot be trusted and I hope to save someone the time and money - take your business somewhere else. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! I purchased my first vehicle from AMG Auto and it has been a nightmare ever since. First, I spent over 6 plus hours at the dealership. Then, after waiting all those hours they provided the wrong temporary plates and registration!!! In poor customer service fashion, after already leaving back to Brooklyn, they UNAPOLOGETICALLY called and asked me to return (mid-drive) to rectify their mistake. Then told me not to drive after just purchasing the car. As an alternative, I HAD TO SUGGEST for them to overnight the corrected temporary plates. They offered no incentive and no apology for their mistake! I asked for an additional key, told I would receive one, and just like my plates, I am STILL WAITING. If that wasn't enough, they still have not sent my license plates! My temporary plates expired FIVE DAYS ago and every time I call, I'm told it will be sent via fed-ex, overnight. FIVE DAYS LATER, and NOTHING. AMG AUTO has basically subjected me to my first criminal offense, with an illegal car parked on the street. Their customer service is deplorable, at best. No customer needs to be subjected to criminal activity at no fault of their own. Consider giving your business to a dealership that has better business practices and will treat their customers better than this. read more

After extensively doing research I traveled over two hours to look at a 2016 Mercedes GLE 350. AMG actually had numerous examples of the make and model I was interested in. I drove the car I initially was interested in and was able to reach a price point both the dealer and I were happy with. Within 40 days of buying this car we had to replace the transmission, the exhaust manifold, the catalytic converter, and the muffler. All told it cost us $9000 in parts and labor. When we contacted the dealership we were told it was out of warranty, they would not cover any of the repairs, and the only way they would even look at it was to Staten Island to the repair shop. Which meant it would have to be towed at our expense. We chose not to have it towed to the repair shop and instead took it to a reputable and reliable mechanic to have the work done. AMG auto has been the worst experience I've had with any business in a long time. First of all, they allowed my 30 day registration to lapse, leaving my car illegal with nothing I could do. The attendant on the phone told me it was fine and I could print a letter that they would provide. I researched this online and of course it is illegal and illegitimate. I had to drive out to the dealership just to get someone to respond to my phone calls about this issue. I'm still trying to get a refund for a maintenance plan that I decided to cancel because I could never get a response from them. I drove an hour to buy a Chrysler 300 that i saw on Cargurus for the price that was advertised. I brought $5000 with me and already secured financing with CapitalOne at with a 3.78% rate based on my excellent credit status. When i got there the sales person tried to sell me almost $4000 of extras that i didn't want. $1500 of it was Lojack which he said was already installed and had to be removed. That wasn't in the listing. Also was fees that i didn't understand. That should have been already included into the price. Made an appointment 3 days in the future to buy a range rover with low miles. Called the day of the appointment and was told the range rover was availible because the dealership is two hours from my house. Went to the bank and took out cash for the purchase and drove to the dealership. When I arrived it was a mad house. I had to wait for a salesman even know I had an appointment. When I was served I was told the range rover was sold! I asked to speak to a manager and was escorted to his office at the back of the sales floor. I was greeted by a man who stank of cheap cologne wearing clothes which barely fit. When I explained the situation I was told the car sold the day PRIOR to my arrival and that there is no process in place to call buyers who have appointments to see cars when a car is sold. Also, that the girls answering the phone have no way to check up to date inventory. He then offered to search his inventory for a similar car. I came with CASH for a range rover. He offered me two Hyundai's and a Kia! Then a Denali which was also SOLD but showing as on the property. I explained to the manager that these cars are nothing like the RANGE ROVER I wanted with low miles. He then told me "do you really think the car had that low of mileage was legitimate?". We I questioned this he said "it was very unlikely the cars true mileage was as as listed but the dealership goes by the carfax report alone.". I walked out of the dealership and told every customer I passed to RUN! Before driving another two hours home. So I spent 5 hours of my Saturday at a dealer that sells cars which they doubt show true mileage! Avoid at all costs! read more

After hearing the car was there I made an appointment for the same day to check it out. I got to the dealership after driving 2 hours only to hear that the car was sold yesterday. Worst car buying experience. EVER. I have purchased over thirty cars in my life from dealers. This place is a nightmare. First the cars are priced to sucker you in the door. . My first trip to check the car out (one hour one way), we weren't even acknowledged by any employees. I emailed to set up an appointment for a time they had available. I even filled out their pre-approval online form to try and make things easier for them. I emailed them the day of the appointment to see if we could agree on a price for the car before I got there because I knew I wanted it. No email back whatsoever. So we make the second trip, we test drive it, I point out my concerns (scratches, mirror damaged, rear lift gate door damaged, cargo cover missing and one key missing) to which I'm told they will be handled. We had to come back another day to handle the financial stuff due to the banks being closed at our scheduled appt time. I get a phone call the day after saying the deal is good, everything is approved, I just need to come by and sign the papers. So I make a third trip down and the papers are a nightmare. I waited 2 hours to see the finance guy. When I finally get to see him, the sale price goes up $3020 and they try to slide in a warranty for another $2500. Then come the fees and horrible interest rates. I offered to get the financing myself through my bank and was quickly shut down. They don't want you to finance the car without them doing it because the banks give them kick backs. The car went from having a sticker in the window of $23995 to a sale price on paper of $27015. Plus the $2450 for the warranty and $250 document fee. So they had me financing an extra $6000 no one told me about. I was told to wait and they would get it worked out. I waited another hour and gave up. This is not how you do business! ***Update-The temporary tag they gave us expired before they got us out permanent plates. I had to get the paperwork and go to the DMV myself. Got the new tag on he car two and a half weeks after the temp plate expired. The car seat in my driveway for over two weeks because we legally couldn't drive it. Went to drive it with the permanent plate and the check engine light came on. I drove it to a Land Rover dealer to have it check out and they gave me a quote for $3300 fix the timing issues and another quote for $1500 to fix the horrible brakes that AMG said were "ok". DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!!!!! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

Let me start off with this place is poorly run. No one has any idea of what's going on. People showing up to work so high they can't properly communicate and others not knowing what cars they have on the lot. I went for a used 2019 Camaro with 40k miles, everything was fine. Turns out the car had a cracked windshield as well as cracked carbon fiber side skirts and the car was in poor condition. WHY IS A CAR LISTED IF ITS NOT READY TO SELL!? So this 18 year old kid took us to the glass shop in a BMW m3 they were selling and beating the shit out of it! Take the Camaro for a test drive then leave the dealer. Called the salesperson 2 days later and never picks up the phone, finally picks up and says he has to negotiate price with his boss and apparently his boss thought a fair price was $49,000 ON an CAR LISTED AT $36,000. THE CAR DOESN'T EVEN GO FOR THAT MUCH BRAND NEW!These people don't want you to pay cash so they can make more money on finance through the bank. These are some of the sleaziest people you will meet. Professional, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable - these are all words that describe Gene, who I purchased a 2015 C Class from. From start to finish, he answered all questions about the car, handled all the paperwork, and was able to give me an excellent price on the vehicle. I drove all the way from Brooklyn (2 hours away) only to be told the car was sold 3 days ago. They wouldn't even price match or accommodate their error. This company sold us a X5 in November of 2019. The Truck was a LEMON, nothing but problems from the start. She brought the truck back in (which is still under warranty) They looked at the Truck and it CAN"T be FIXED! They offered us another X5 BMW. This time we had it sent to BMW Dealership to have a Diagnoses test. BMW said the truck needs a new tire, FRONT BRAKES and Corroded ROTORS. Bought a 2013 escalade here and a month later the motor went, they replaced it under warranty and made such a mess that I have had the truck 1.5 years and haven't been able to drive it more then 4 months. Currently it is in my garage where it has sat for 3 months because no one could fix it. turns out when they replaced the motor they crushed a bunch of wires and now I have to replace the wiring harness which is no small feat. I have been calling for a week and I cannot get anyone to seriously help me. I was told last Monday that the title would be there the next day, it never happened. I was kept waiting for over 3 hours with very pregnant wife and 10 year old daughter with assurances by salesman that internet car price would be honored if I financed car purchase instead of cash buy but it was a lie. After waiting over 3 hours AMG insisted on adding $2500 in dealer fees to purchase price which I would have to pay sales tax on also. AMG tried to push bad deal on me despite the fact I had previously purchased my current vehicle there.
