I had lunch here a few weeks ago the Octopus is amazing. I did not care for the Calamari and from the description I thought I would love it. They have a nice wine selection. Now I decided that maybe they had an off day so I ordered to go last Thursday and got the Turmeric Chicken (2) a Golden Margarita flatbread and lobster bisque. Turmeric chicken was mushy. The taste was great texture no. The root vegetables on the side were wonderful. The flatbread was good, I will get it again. The lobster bisque is not to my liking. It takes a lot to make a great lobster bisque. I will be back hopefully it will be better. read more

My wife and I were pretty excited to go to eat in a restaurant for the first time since the virus hit. This was our first time at Amphora. There were four of us for dinner and three of the four of us had good meals. My wife was disappointed in the salmon which was dry. The restaurant is pricy. My wife and I went to eat at Amfora last night after shopping. We had a wonderful meal that was delicious and super fresh. The staff was very accommodating with timing the food and checking up on us. I have to give a shout out to Mario and Nico our servers as they were so attentive and they went above and beyond to give us 5 star service. Worst service ever. Waiter forgot to put in my order and didn't seem to care when my whole family got their dinner but I didn't. Plus then they added a 20% gratuity to the bill without asking us if it was OK. Which it wasn't. And he did not apologize for any of the missteps. Plus the food was just OK. Don't go there if you expect the lobster bisque to be anything like the picture from the restaurant's own website. The picture shows lobster bisque being poured over either a lobster claw or small tail. It was actually the size of a large pea for $12.00. It tasted pretty good although I have had better recently for far less cost. I expressed my disappointment to the mgr . He did nothing about it. The rest of the food was good, but way overpriced. I've heard about this place from my friend and decided to try it. When I arrived and checked menu, I had many things in my head to try it. However, I got very good help from my waitress Enisa. She recommended my Good choices of beer, vine and different dishes. Excellent appetizers, especially Calamari and Octopus. I felt like, I am in Greece or Montenegro. Went to amfora Saturday night. Restaurant was half full. Apps were good! Pasta (gnocchi) was very fair. Greek Salad was fair. They were a bit stingy on the wine pours too. Service was just bad. the restaurant is at least in a good location(coconut point). It's also clean, and has a somewhat interesting menu. But it's way too pricey for what it is. No ambiance whatsoever. They play bar music. The lights are too bright and a huge chunk of the restaurant is taken up by this massive service station and pizza prep area. So your eating and watching a dozen employees standing around and doing nothing. The reason I'm posting this is because the restaurant stopped doing pizzas!! And yet they have these two beautiful pizza ovens and a massive prep area for pizzas. Seems crazy to me. The menu items seemed to have changed too. We were disappointed overall, but maybe the owners changed hands ? Anyone know ? read more

This was our first time at Amfora. Friends recommended it highly. It was not what we expected. It was Valentine's Day and Bronzino was on the menu as a special. After we ordered the Bronzino the waitress returned and said it was all sold out. How do you have a special on the menu and then sell out? Ok we ordered filet mignon however the waitress failed to tell us there was salmon on the menu as well. The owner Sam came to the table to apologize for the lack of Bronzino and we asked if we could have salmon. He returned 5 minutes later to tell us the filet was fired up on the grill and we could not change our minds. Really? We did not want filet we wanted fish. We ordered mussels for an appetizer and the mussels were small and sandy. This was not a good meal for 120.00. And the service was terrible. Not worth it at all. We will never return. There are too many good restaurants in the area to go back to Amfora. read more

I rarely write reviews, only when I find a jewel. The food was extremely high quality. We got the tuna tartar, risotto, the octopus, the swordfish, branzino and the lamb shank. All very fresh and properly cooked. The lamb was so tender and delicious and the fish was tasty! The service was very attentive and catered to us.
