My boyfriend and I visited The Kabab Spot, a hidden gem tucked just off 41 in Fort Myers, on Friday evening. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the intoxicating aroma of Mediterranean spices--warm garlic, herbs, and fragrant seasonings that awakened my senses and excited my taste buds for what was to come. I ordered the Kufta Lamb Kabab served over basmati rice, along with a salad, a side of babaganoj, and pita bread. The lamb kabab was heavenly--succulent pieces of tender lamb infused with fragrant Mediterranean spices, creating a perfect balance of savory, smoky, and slightly earthy flavors. Each bite was incredibly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Everything about The Kabab Spot is fantastic. The food is consistently delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. I think 3 is a fair rating here. Food/flavor I'll give a 4. Might be being a little generous there but I'll stand by a 4 for the area (fort myers food tends to stink. Prices are a 2 lol. Buddy needs to check himself a bit. $13 for a large fry? $13 for a doctored up piece of cheesecake. Are we on 5th Ave or a whole in the wall? The food was 10 out of 10. Everything tasted amazing and was super fresh. Probably the best Mediterranean spot in Southwest Florida in my opinion. Only complaint I had, was I wish their AC worked inside, it was too hot to eat in there, but outside was a nice seating area with fans, which was a little more comfortable. If you have family members who are authentic ethnic cooks, it's difficult to find restaurants that can compare to your home cooking. This was no exception. We had the chicken Kabab on Mediterranean rice with tabbouleh. The tabbouleh was good, rice and chicken very dry. We had grape leaves, mediocre, but they were served on cucumber salad and garlic yogurt which was delicious. I thought the hibiscus tea was awful and when they noticed I didn't drink it, offered a soft drink, free instead. The staff was very nice. This is really a take out place which wants to think of itself as a restaurant. Minimal seating inside. You order at the counter from a menu which doesn't have a s many options as it probably had in the past. There is a screened in dining room outside with a dozen tables. The whole place has seen better days. Your food is brought out to you. We will not return. read more

Food was fresh and very flavorful and I would love to try more things on their menu. BUT I will never dine in again. The restaurant was extremely hot. We were sweating the entire time. There is limited seating inside. There were 2 tables open but had dirty plates all over them. My husband and I cleaned up a table with dirty plates just so that we could sit down and still no one came to clean the plates. It wasn't until after we got our food that the dirty plates were cleaned up by an employee. If I was to go back I would do take out only. I do think it was overpriced for what you got. $6 for a small side of fries is a little much. It's about $20 a plate but the restaurant is not a $20 a plate restaurant. It was my wife, myself and our friend. We ordered three. It was a drink, fries and the shawarma. The food was insane and that's why it has 3 stars. If the food was bad, it would have one. So why only 3? No prices, I asked to pay before I got the food and they said, "don't worry. Eat first then pay." So we did. We had no idea that for 3 meals, it would be $73 or so dollars! So is the food delicious? Oh yeah. Is it worth it? Oh hedge no. Run. I was sucked into a cool's funny add they did on instagram and it's totally my fault. And I get it. The foods INSANE. My coworker and I were in town for a conference and looking for somewhere to eat before driving back down to Miami. We found the kebab spot and we were glad we did. We walked in and ordered at the counter and then found some seating outside. I ordered the Gyro with fries. I always love when fries come seasoned and these did. The Gyro was delicious. The bread was fresh and the ingredients were well seasoned. We were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy ourselves and had a good conversation under some nice weather. Unfortunately not even the salad had enough of the citrus flavor expected in fattoush. The hummus needed salt. The garlic sauce tasted sour. I paid 14$ just for the one small cup of lentil soup which was more of a lentil puree. The shawarma had barely any flavor. The lamb kafta was probably the best of the proteins. I went to checkout the Kabab Spot restaurant and Hookah bar after work one day. I ordered a small order of their Hummus and I got a bottle of water. I sat outside on their patio and smoked a Kiwi flavored Hookah. The owner, Aladdin, came out to see how I was and introduced himself and then brought me more pita bread for my hummus and he also brought out some Turkish Salsa for me to try with the hummus.
