I did have to touch up a few of the worst sections with grout cleaner. But that should have been expected since the tile had not likely been cleaned since 2000 when the house was built. We were moving & wanted all the tile cleaned in the new house professionally. Being from out of state I depended on Yelps reviews to find someone. Dwayne and I believe his niece came. My husband was here I was not. He said Dwayne was a "great guy" and initially thought he did a good job. When I arrived I noticed along the edges there was build up. I contacted Dwayne and he said it was Mop n Glow and his machine couldn't get close enough to the edges. I asked for suggestions and he said vinegar & water. Sure that keeps the tile clean but doesn't take care of the initial build up. I bought some floor stripper and spent a day on my hands & knees attempting to get rid of the build up. The reason for three stars is Dwayne's initial response when I reached out to him to schedule the appointment and his personality per my husbands opinion were both good. As far as work done, not so high. Get what you pay for I guess. read more

Ames came highly recommended from another carpet cleaner. I called and was able to get an appointment the next day to have my tile cleaned. Dwayne showed up on time and explained the process. He left my tile looking like new and kept things neat as he was doing his work. His work was so good I scheduled a second appointment to get my couches clean. What a really nice and, above all, honest guy! Dwaine Ames Durham is super friendly and hard working. I planned to get carpet & tile (whole house) done, but after he walked thru told me that I really don't need the tile done-it is in excellent condition! He could've made an extra $400 on me (***lots of tile), but saved me tons instead! He included closets (walk in) in room cost for carpet and got out all our stains. I was impressed! He told me $250 for carpet over the phone (I estimated walk in as separate) and $.30/for tile. After requesting that he still add at least the bathroom tiles he only charged me $235 total?!?! Duane from Ames Carpet & Tile Cleaning came out to our new house we just closed on to clean the carpet before we moved in. When he left,the carpets were sopping wet! We left all three fans circulating on high. The next morning, every window had condensation dripping on them and wet window sills. After wiping everything dry, I contacted Duane who said they will dry in a few days. We turned the heat up. As this is a second home, I did not return for 3.5 weeks when we were ready to make the move. To my disbelief, when I entered the house, the carpets were striped in areas! It appeared not all the dirty water was sucked out and left marks. Duane was too busy that week (this was a Tuesday) to come out and look at the mess he created. The move was scheduled and needed to take place. We had to hire another carpet cleaning company to come out to clean up his mess two weeks later. There was lots of dirty water in that cleaning. I found this person's work to be very unacceptable. His work was poor quality and the worst part is he did not stand behind it. All I can say is Consumer Beware!!! read more
