I wish I could give them a zero star. The WORST customer service I have ever had. Use another company.

I would give AmeriGas negative stars if that were an option…read more Our propane regulator failed on Friday, and apparently AmeriGas's definition of an "emergency" is only if your house is actively trying to explode. No heat and no hot water--with three kids--in Colorado? Totally fine, I guess. So here we are, living like it's the 1800s. Boiling water on the stove just to do dishes, no hot showers, and freezing nights. But don't worry--according to AmeriGas, this is not urgent. We spent the entire weekend calling, only to be bounced around like a ping-pong ball between departments. Every single person needed us to repeat our name, phone number, email, and life story before doing absolutely nothing to help. We even paid out of pocket for a plumber and HVAC tech to confirm the issue--because of course, only AmeriGas can fix their own equipment. Convenient. Customer service ranged from unhelpful to outright rude. Even after escalating to the "customer retention team" (which is ironic, because this experience guarantees they won't be retaining us), nothing was resolved. At this point, we're just waiting to see what gets fixed first--the regulator or our patience. Avoid if you enjoy basic luxuries like hot water, heat, and competent customer service.

I came across the information for Mile High Propane- and decided to give them call. Everything about this company screams expertise and professionalism, not to mention affordable which made it easy on the budget. The entire process was beyond impressive, from the initial phone call and the service I received from the office level to the actual delivery and the promptness of the driver as well as his positive attitude, and just getting the delivery made as efficiently as possible- no shortcuts. I received my invoice the same day- and the pricing was exactly as discussed when I called in. I highly recommend this company to anyone in the Conifer area. Thank you, Mile High Propane, for going the extra mile. You have definitely earned my business, and I will pass your name along to anyone I know.

I have autopay which has ensured that I was never late on a payment. They snuck in a filled over 800$ on my tank without notice. I called to ask for time and split payments and solutions on this bill. The autopayed it anyway and now I have a huge credit that they will not refund. They accused me of late pay, and said I would have to find another company and tank before issuing the credit. Unethical, poor business practice, rude and ill informed by miss Lisa in the office make me want to seek an attorney.

In the past 5 years that we've been very happy with the service we have received from Mountain…read moreHearth & Patio (also known as "Mountain Man Fireplace & Chimney"). However, this last experience was absolutely awful and so unlike any other interaction and service we've received from this company. We needed our pellet stove fixed and it took SEVERAL appointments for them to send a technician out to fix it. Here are our frustrations/complaints that has left such a bad taste in our mouth. 1. Disorganized. When we would call the office, it was impossible to reach someone and when we eventually would, the same person would say she couldn't help us because she didn't know where our file was. This happened on MULTIPLE occasions and we've been a customer for over 5 years! 2. Contradictory Information. First, we were told that we would have to install a flue ourselves, but then received a call a week or so later, asking when they could book a time to install it. We told them that we were told that WE would have to install it and needed clarification. In the end, they confirmed that it was our responsibility to install the flue. Here's where the most frustrating part comes. One of the technicians that came to our house to fix the pellet stove told us the length and direction the flue should be, writing down the parts we would need. Then, on a subsequent visit (since the pellet stove was STILL not working), we were told the flue was too horizontal, so we changed it. On another visit and with a 3rd technician, we were told that we couldn't have a T and had to have the flue come straight out. Why would your technician suggest we take the flue the other direction we had planned and to keep it short after we would be putting in the 90 degree turn!? Why didn't he tell me you cannot have a T or 90 degree turn when he wrote down the pieces himself that we needed and then allowed us to order them. And how ethical is it to allow customers to purchase something through you that is eventually determined to be the cause of the stove not functioning!? As per the receipts, we paid $641.60 (-$47.80) = $593.83 for something your company eventually said we cannot use. 3. Bad Pellets. We assumed that one of the technicians took the pellets from his truck, because instead of using the pellets we had next the the stove (that are dry and new), we found a bag of bad fuel outside in the back of our house. We store our pellets in our basement storage room and in a bucket next to our stove. The pellets that were in my stove were filled by your technician after we had to leave. If the pellets were bad, why did he put them into the stove? And then, in a conversation with you, WE were the ones blamed for putting in bad pellets! Pocketing $600 and then placing the blame solely on the customer and giving contradictory information is not a great way to run a business. 4. Lastly, we were never given a breakdown of the cost, until we asked for it and it was vaguely written out in an email. We've always received invoices from you in the past! Our final straw, when we decided to get the Better Business Bureau involved was not when we believe you owe us a $600 refund, but when a month after the service debacle, we were told we have an overdue balance!!! It was cleared as a mistake once the BBB reached out to you. But this whole thing has been a stressful nightmare. I'm not sure WHAT has changed this past year, but it was a completely different service and experience than what we've had in the past. It's been incredibly frustrating and disappointing for our family. We were asked not to write a bad review, but I feel like as a business, it would be helpful for you to know why we are upset. We've been nothing but patient and understanding, even in so many moments of frustration and that amount of times you had to send technicians out to figure out what was wrong with our pellet stove.

The recommendation Jake made for the actual fireplace unit has turned out to be an excellent choice. The unit warms our house so well that we stopped using our upstairs heater. Bambi kept me well informed when materials arrived and ensured I knew what I needed to be prepared for the install and Nick kept his team and the project on task as they built a hearth, installed our mantle and setup the fireplace. Finally, we wanted real stone and they referred us to a superb mason - Kurt King - to wrap up the project. You won't go wrong with MH&P!

The scheduler (Sherri) also exhibited some pretty severe passive aggressive tendencies when I told her that I hadn't gotten her phone call on the day of our 2nd appointment (and 2nd cancelation) and I called to ask when the technician might be coming by. I live in Boulder in a known cell tower dead zone and often miss calls or drop calls midway. She was snarky when I told her that I hadn't gotten her call. I gave her my daughter's cell phone as a backup in case she had trouble reaching me for my 3rd scheduled make-up appointment. When I didn't get that call but she reached my daughter my daughter called me and asked me what her problem was bc she was so snarky with her. So I got the third makeup appointment booked and decided that I would check other places as I really was starting to wonder about this place and their other negative Yelp reviews reinforce the feeling that I got from my 3-4 contacts with this outfit. Got booked with a terrific company, A Brighter Glow in Brighton and had the best experience on the phone with an immediate confirmation and followup text and the tech Roy was professional and prompt and meticulous. I will be a repeat customer of theirs and the contrast in professionalism and customer care is like night and day with The Gas Connection. I am sure that they would have cancelled on me the 3rd time and I am glad that I don't have to deal with Sherri ever again.

The tech that came out (Dale), while a bit rough, almost immediately diagnosed my issue (correctly, I might add - this is after consulting with other companies (and the manufacturer) and getting a repair). The main issue was I didn't get a quote back for a week (was promised within a couple days). By that time I already had wheels in motion to have someone else to fix the issue. And, this is me being picky, is I wish he might have recommended additional maintenance to the unit - since he seemed very knowledgeable. Quick response to consult, delay in quote, which led to me to go with someone else - however, I will keep this company in mind for other needs in the future due to the knowledge of the tech.
