I saw that almost every review was 5 stars. There was one person who gave them a 1 star and I know after being in business for over 30 years there is always that one person. So I called ahead to see if there was anything special that I needed to bring with me. The lady on the phone was very helpful. She said that when I got to the location they would set me up. When I arrived it was busy. The young lady working there was working with one customer filling his tanks and another was just ahead of me. When it was my turn she walked me through what I would need (new adaptors so I could use my RV's current hook ups and regulator). She was very helpful and pleasant. She kept everyone in order and was on top of it. I told her that I pick this place because of the reviews and she said that she was proud of doing a good job. She also mentioned the negative review that was posted and said the guy never came to her location. He mentioned the receptionist as being rude and there is no receptionist on sight. Just her and the 2 awesome dogs in the office. Anyway I had an amazing first experience at Affordable Propane from the first call to getting my 2 tanks filled. The price was 1/2 of what I would hav3e paid at the other locations I called. So although the reviews were better I also came for the price as well. It was a win win and I will be back.

They took a look…read moreat the tank and the under-carriage mounting and said it was an illegal setup per Colorado law and they couldn't legally refill it for me. (The van's customization was done in Texas.) The owner himself came out to talk with me and talked me through his idea for a solution. He quoted me what I thought was a very reasonable price and they completed the work in a few hours. He gave me a thorough rundown on how the new system worked and things to look out for. If this is how they do business, I would never use Suburban propane. They don't do what they say they'll do but instead make excuses for why they aren't living up to their promises.

Obviously a journeyman position until the person finds something better with more pay. Never the same person when I come in. Now, on to products and service. Came in today for a spark plug check. First thing was to check the gap, go back, start the machine. I suspected the plug was bad, but started with this. Well guess what, they sell spark plugs, but don't have a gap tool! I commented to the person every machine is different, it does not come off the assembly line correct with this. She just looked at me like I was more than crazy. Did not even offer to help me find a replacement plug. Popcorn hour for the staff? I went to the auto parts store, simple gap tool for reasonable price. If I need building or hardware, I just go to Lowes or HomeDepot. The problem is they cannot connect the dots on a project. Part of that is they don't keep good staff, and that is what I come here for, advice and direction. And, they are frequently out of needed items. Correction - what I used to come here for...
