We've stayed with this chain before, and have liked their service and their accommodations. We got an excellent price for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend, so it was nice to have a holiday weekend getaway without breaking the bank. The free hot breakfast is always a perk, and the kids absolutely LOVE the locations with a waterslide. The room was clean, but there were some dirty marks on the wall and in the tub. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are a little too much like rocks. Service was excellent. It was still a good place to call "home" for 2 nights. We'll definitely be back! read more

This hotel should be cited for false advertising-hot tub empty, apparently based on reviews from years prior it has been empty for years. The pool area has minimal seating. Bathtub doesn't drain in hotel room, rooms seemed clean but beds awkwardly placed. one double bed is next to the air conditioner/heater and no way to move around so I assume this area never gets cleaned either. Probably the most disappointing is the poor customer service. Person checking us in was rude, did not say hi or welcome us at all. did not smile. Very terse, short, provided minimal information about the hotel, I had to ask basic questions about pool, breakfast, etc. Sad to see the quality of hotels in the country go down like this, and poor customer service. read more

Paid for amenities for a couples getaway. Ice machines don't work and hot tub is empty. 1 bedroom suite was big but I asked for someone to fix the fireplace we wanted and said they would send maintenance n never showed so why pay for this or list the amenities. Would of went somewhere else. Never would recommend this after being ignored on fixing something we paid for. Also breakfast was empty n had to go ask for eggs. Very disappointed. They could of gave a small credit back for charging for things that are all broken. read more

The overall stay wasn't completely terrible, but it left a lot to be desired. The pans for the eggs and sausage in the continental breakfast were left empty every morning we were there, so we had to go elsewhere and pay for breakfast, and when they were filled after complaints the eggs looked dried out and unpalatable. The bathtub in our room drained very slowly, so we were standing ankle-deep in used water by the time we were done showering. The air in the room was very humid even with the A/C running, so our bath towels never did completely dry, even being hung up and spread out. The front desk staff - when they were even present - were not particularly attentive or inviting. No one asked if we needed anything, how our stay had been, nothing. We had reservations for this week to see my ailing mother in law but my Husband got Covid so we had to postpone our trip. We didn't even want a refund, just a credit but they refused to even offer a credit for future stay. Worst customer service with absolutely no regard for customer well being. They made us write an email to the general manager (at a gmail address) asking for a credit after being on the phone with them and getting the run around. Still have not heard from them. After 4 days went to the front desk and asked for a room clean, was told policy changed and no room clean evert 2 days as stated in our room, then after requesting room cleaning - still no room cleaning! Not impressed with our stay here. The front desk employees were not very friendly or accommodating. We checked in 1 minute before the check-in time, and we were given a handicapped accessible room. There is of course nothing wrong at all with having those rooms accessible to those who need it, however, we are not in need of that. The issue was that everything was spread out so far and nothing was available to put your bags on, or even set a glass of water down as it all needs to be cleared for wheel chair access (again, I am glad they have these rooms available for those individuals who need this). We had zero room on the vanity in the bathroom as this again, needs to be cleared out for wheelchair access, so it was a huge struggle getting ready. We had to wheel our cooler into the bathroom to put our soaps & shampoo/conditioner on as there is no place to put soaps on & we didn't want to sit down to take a shower on the bench that was provided in there, and if you pull it down, you can't stand either because it takes up the entire space. We asked to switch rooms because this wasn't going to work for us when trying to get ready, etc as we can't even set down a curling wand on the vanity because it isn't big enough, it'd be laying in the sink. They told us no and sent us on our way. I believe the gal at the front desks exact words were "I would say I'm sorry but I'm not because there's nothing I can do about it" ... I mean, come on, at least pretend like you care or are looking into it a little bit. Now for my review. It was dirty, not the absolute worst, but not clean. We wore our shoes the entire time and every time I dropped something which happened often because there was no room in this place to put your things, I'd pick it up with long hairs attached to it..... the towels stunk very badly as well and the toilet paper roll was sopping wet. We also never got our room cleaned or brought fresh towels. It had a very dingy and dark feeling in there, I seriously couldn't even eat, I'd make sure I ate anything in the car prior to entering. By far, my BIGGEST issue with this hotel, is that they have NO CELLULAR SERVICE!!! They say they have Wifi, but my brand new, iPhone 13 (so I know it isn't my phones issue) wouldn't allow me to connect to it & I couldn't send/receive messages or calls and view social media/use web browsers anytime I was in the hotel. I went up to nicely just ask what I'm doing wrong with the Wifi or if they had suggestions on why my phone won't get service. The woman at the desk said that it is a concrete building so nobody really gets service there but I could try just sitting in the lobby. LOL I like to browse my phone here and there in the privacy of my own room, not just in this dirty, dingy lobby with the front desk people staring at me and guests in & out. That honestly was the deal breaker for me. The breakfast was fine, but they had it all cranked up to high, so everything was burning to char, but I did fix their warmer temps for them. The positives of this hotel would be easy access on and off the interstate and the vending machine had decent prices. Ummmm that'd be it honestly... hate to be that way but we truly dreaded having to come back to the hotel after a long day out exploring Green Bay and a going to a game Lambeau field. I'm sorry, but if we're paying for a hotel room, I shouldn't feel like I'm living back in 2001 if we're paying 2022 rates. I wouldn't stay here unless you don't use a cell phone for anything, you'd probably be fine there, otherwise just know you'll have to go sit outside to get cellular service. read more

I woke up with a couple bug bites thinking they might have been a spider then the next night I woke up to more bites all over my feet and ankles. I don't know what they were but the bites were extremely itchy and my feet were swollen for days. They way I reacted to the bites we narrowed down to fleas or bed bugs. I called the hotel twice asking to speak to a manager to see if they had any idea what these bites were and twice was told someone would call me back. I have not received a returned phone call from my stay July 17-21. read more

My family and I stayed at this location on Labor Day this year. The room was neat and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My son really liked the water slide and the pool was just the right size. I was very impressed with the staff as they went out of the way to help, suggesting good restaurants in the area and providing answers to questions. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Appleton. read more

First of all, I would like to say that this was one of the quietest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. There was some sound leakage from the hallway, but I don't think that can be helped. I don't know what was in the walls, but it worked. When I called to make the reservation I was told that check-in was at 3pm. This place has a 'waterpark' (indoor pool with a tall slide), and my kids love the water, so I asked about the possibility of checking in sooner. I was then told that I could call the day of to see about checking in a 1pm instead. It all depended on how many rooms had been booked the night before. This was reasonable. So the day of our reservation I called to ask about checking in early and was told, in a rude and brusque manner, that they'd had a full house the night before and it was impossible. I asked if we could check in but not go to our room, only play in the water. This was "against [our] corporate code". Again, very rude. I wasn't asking anyone to break any rules for me, but a little politeness goes a long way when you are telling someone "no". I think, but did not confirm, that this hotel might only have one elevator. If there was a second one, it and its signage were well-hidden. Check-in and check-out were fast and painless, and the hotel itself is perfectly fine (except for the jackhole who parked his large truck sideways in the parking lot and took up three spaces - I wanted to call the cops, but that had nothing to do with the hotel itself). We have stayed at this hotel a few times and I don't recall it being this bad the past couple of times, the hotel seems a little run down and unfortunately there is not really much upgrades done and the bed and the pillows were possibly the most uncomfortable that I have ever slept on at any hotel. Quite possible the WORST hotel to stay in. Just finished a weekend of travel with my child's ice hockey team. The team stayed last year too. Cannot tell me that this AmericINN gets sold out for 2 nights that often- but the staff was RUDE and almost non existent. Tiffany was polite as punch when we checked in, but then was seen shaking her head and rolling her eyes when she left the property later that evening. I didn't see her again the rest of weekend. Other front desk people really RUDE. They ran out of towels- each room only had 3- interesting how a room that holds 4 people only gets 3 towels. Beds were horrid- and pillows paper thin. No extra pillows either! The ceiling tiles over our shower were riddled with mold, and bulging like they would collapse any second. Lots of dust. The hallways and lobby were HOT. Pool had so much chlorine that many kids got sick and had rashes. Breakfast was so-so. The housekeeping staff audibly heard while "cleaning" the rooms complaining about not having enough towels for the hotel and clearly not thrilled at having to work. Elevator "broke". Was told that it was our fault for pressing buttons. It's an elevator- you have to press the buttons. Same thing happened the previous year. Had some members of our group that were handicapped and were told they couldn't be moved to the 1st floor- when there were clearly open rooms. Lots of issues booking- families being told they were sold out only to find out at check in that the room they were assigned to were vacant the previous night. "Lifeguards" we're teenagers that didn't pay attention at all. Some staff member took my picture on her cell phone- said it was for promotional use. No permission given so she better not be using! This location needs SERIOUS upgrades. The staff needs some serious attitude adjustments. IF our organization returns to your location I certainly will NOT be staying on your property. I'll choose the updated, nice hotel right next door- Cambria Suites! I recommend anyone else to do so as well read more

A great value hotel in Appleton. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the property is relatively new and clean as well. The water slide is fantastic for adults and children alike - it's about 3 stories high and has a number of turns before you reach the bottom. The only downside is that the slide is only open for a few hours a day, generally in the late afternoon, so plan ahead if you're interested in the slide. The front desk staff is great and we had a great stay. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that the whole first floor smells like pool chlorine (since the indoor pool is attached), but as long as you stay on the second or third floor, it's fine. read more

Had a very nice stay over Easter weekend. Hotel staff was very helpful to get our group of 4 rooms all together. We have stayed here previously so we thought there was a water slide, but that was removed over a year ago we were told. Pro - opened up the pool deck/seating area. Con - folks still dump their kids in and leave them unattended. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and well maintained when it ran low. Ice water at the front desk. Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2014 1:27 PM To: AmericInn Subject: Appleton WI horrible customer service Hello, Here is a copy of my reservation for last night at your Appleton, WI location. I send you this because the manager, Tiffany Doberstein, said she would deny I stayed here. I booked 2 rooms here, one under my name and the other under Janet Logan's name. We were staying just last night after a GB Packer game, a party of four. It was a ladies' weekend and we stayed up playing cards until 2:30 am. When I opened my bed there were stains on the sheets and it was obvious they had not been changed. My friend opened her bed and there were crumbs in the sheets and a black bug crawled across the sheet. We were grossed out and immediately called the front desk. The human stains on the sheets were disgusting and nauseating and then the big black bug made it even worse. The night manager came up immediately, looked at the sheets and bug, then stripped the beds and put all new bedding on both beds. She apologized profusely and then gave me a certificate for a free stay. I told her, since I would not be needing to stay in Appleton again, I wanted $100 back that I paid for the room. She said since I booked through Expedia I could not get my money back. By now it was after 3am and I said I would talk to someone at check-out. Today I spoke to Tiffany and she confirmed she knew about the incident but we could not get our money back and all we could get was the certificate. She became very nasty when I pressed the issue and I told her we took pictures and I would post them to Expedia, Trip Advisor, etc. She told me to go ahead, the beds were clean, she had checked them yesterday, she would deny we stayed there. She said she was going to call Expedia for us but now we could call the ourselves!! I asked her if it was worth $100 for us to slam this location on Trip Advisor since she had a 4 1/2 star rating plague on the counter. She will deny we stayed there! She does not care what we do. Americinn can refund my $100 immediately. We 4 women and my husband will blast this on social media and his corporation will no longer be using Americinn if this is how one of your manager handles problems. Stayed with our girls basketball team, we had a tournament in Little Chute. Apparently there was a boys (8yr olds) hockey group also staying there. Holy Kids! Apparently parents feel it's ok to let these kids play hockey in the halls at 8am yelling, running etc. also, after checking in, wanted to rest my head a bit, sounded like a Hurd of cattle, running the halls, terrible, no one said a word. Then, the fire alarms were going off a bunch of times for no reason, thank goodness it didn't happen all through the night. The mattress was the worst of the worst, even my daughter said she had aches in the morning. Pillow pancakes with lumps. Room was pretty clean though, so that was good. The other weird thing was, the halls were Hotter than blazes, OMG like seriously 85' plus. Everybody was dying of heat stroke. Later on I finally asked at the desk why it was so hot, she said, "oh I can turn it down if you wish," seriously, you didn't notice. This heat was probably why the fire alarms were going off, crazy! Breakfast was pretty awful also, I don't really expect great when it's included, but this was bad, just ate a yogurt and called it a day. It was nice to have the pool for our girls to swim, but they are 13yr olds and it didn't entertain them very long. To sum it up, it wasn't the worst, but I would try another place unless it was a great deal, and make sure there isn't a hockey team of eight year olds staying there when you go.
