Had a pretty good overnight stay here. We arrived actually kinda early around 3pm but they were just finishing getting the room ready so it was nice. The room was very clean and more spacious than I expected.. definitely enjoy being on first floor very close to the car. Only minor issue we had was with the key card wasn't working but a trip to the front desk they gave us back up key for it. It's nice they have an outdoor pool only too bad weather was too cold to fully enjoy it. Every other amenity was working great. Just maybe the bathroom might need some touch ups. However given the price and location it's definitely well worth the stay :) a little farther from historical Plattsburgh area but it's very very close to I87. Definitely a happy stay overall

For a $199 room ($224.39 with taxes) I expected a television that worked, a bed that didn't sag in the middle, and an entranceway that wasn't generally dirty and littered with cigarette butts. The "grab & go" breakfast bag (muffins, donuts, and a granola bar) was unacceptable; I left it behind. While the staff were all pleasant and helpful, they could not make up for these deficiencies.

FIRST! I'm surprised this place didn't come up as a search, I had to add it. This place is old! Alright so this place is kind of old and smelly. I had to leave the door open and the fan on for a little while to air it out. It's an old motel that's ok for less than $100 a night. I had to switch rooms from the first floor to the second floor because there were kids runing around upstairs of me. So I recommend a second floor room. They've got free continental breakfast (I think that means cold items), free WiFi, outdoor pool and it's pretty conveniently located off I 81. There's loads of restaurants, gas stations and a Wal-Mart on this street so you'll have everything you need for a brief stay. Overall it's a bit dumpy. If you're paying less than $100/night, it's ok.

I've been a chef for 30 years an executive chef for 20 ran my own restaurant. As much as we would like to pretend that even when we are not working we never actually leave the hospitality world. So we always fiñd ourselves constantly judging others and how they treat us in their professional setting compared to how we would treat them in our professional setting so with that said Im in NY at the American best value inn the day after Thanksgiving five minutes after the contenital breakfast was done being offered which is suppose to be given to us as an appreciation for giving you our business. So I find myself in the company of other hotel guests looking for our Continental breakfast in appreciation of our business when confronted the staff and Management who luckily were standing side by side. (Which never happens right) you would think Management which motto should be the customer is always right, the bitter pill as a Chef I not only ingest daily but I also must show this example to my suet chef & GM this is our montes in the hospitality world. .. the person obviously with the responsibility of taking care of breakfast actually looked at her Fearless Leader for direction , which as a boss my self ....( At that very moment he should've started feeling embarrassed about not only his poor employee training or Management skills ) But it was obvious to me and the other hotel guests that the word Hospitality isn't a guide line in World of American best Inn , It's to bad they put the word American in their tittle cause I'd hate to think we give tourists the impression that this poor display is actually the best America has to offer, You would think just simply by putting our country's name in their tittle they would at least make an actual effort to try to make it America's best. The following I probably would've mentioned if it wasn't for the previous B.S. I also quickly would like to add the light switch in the bathroom is busted, the fan stays on their for the bathroom is freezing first thing in the morning & the bed frame doesn't even fit the mattress, my wife and myself both cut our feet from the extending metal from the bedframe that extends from both sides of the bed, milk craits would've worked better We even paid for the full week in advance. I think if I've kept you're attention this long you know my opinion of this place by now I should add I've just gotten home yet of the hospital and have a neck brace and about 30 stables on my scalp from the accedient.

The America's Best Value Inn is a clean, comfortable place to stay right off Interstate 87 that's convenient to a number of events in Plattsburgh. I recently stayed there for two nights while attending a wedding. The reception was held at the Butcher Block's Adirondack Room, so ABVI was the closest hotel. I ended up booking two separate reservations since I had booked the first night before learning of the venue. The first night I stayed in a room with two double beds that was a typical budget hotel room. The room had a flat screen LCD TV, mini fridge, and microwave and had some shelves and a bar tohang clothesin the back of the room. For my second night, I had upgraded to a Jacuzzi king suite. The room had similar amenities to the first worth the addition of a chair and ottoman. The Jacuzzi was in the bathroom and was large enough to fit four or five people. I've stayed in a few rooms with whirlpools in them, but this was definitely the largest. Toiletries included two bars of soap and a squeeze bottle of conditioning shampoo. Both rooms were clean and appeared to be well-maintained. The front desk attendant, knowing that we had a wedding to get to, had our room ready before 11am, allowing us plenty of time to resettle and get ready, which made the stay hassle free. The exterior corridors allowed me to park right in front of the room both nights. The only thing that left something to be desired was the breakfast. It consisted of coffee, tea, milk, orange juice from concentrate, pastries, toast, and cereal. The only gluten free option was corn flakes. Personally, though, I'm a big raisin bran fan, so the breakfast was good enough to get my day started until I had a midday brunch.

This time it was very unsatisfactory due to changes made during the renovation. I've never seen a renovation where the rooms were made WORSE. They had removed the coffee table, a small rectangular table with two chairs where I used to eat my dinner and conduct business, and also the end table next to the couch so there was nowhere to put my purse, backpack, books, etc. They had also removed the closet area and replaced it with a few "knobs" with hangers. They had also removed a long shelf in the bathroom where I used to put my toiletries, now forcing me to leave them at the side of the sink or on the floor. Also removed any towel rods in the bathroom, again replacing them with colored "knobs" that look like something out of an IKEA showroom. I inquired at the desk if the removal of the furniture was permanent, if the table and chairs and coffee table would be put back. The clerk was not sure and said there was some furniture "on order" that had not arrived yet. She said "we don't like it either" referring to the removal of so many features from the rooms. I will not be staying in this property again unless there is furniture in the room! There is no place to sit and eat and nowhere to put many of my belongings.

Front desk check in was easy and friendly enough. Elevator was quick, clean and bright. Hallway signs to Rooms were marked perfectly!! Hotel hallway very clean and quiet. Rooms are large, beds firm, furnished great. Only missing a coffee maker, it has refrigerator and microwave. Nice desk, lots of drawers and storage. Plenty of comfortable pillows. Heat and ac work great. Bathroom was nice, good size tub. Plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Good lighting throughout the room. Continental breakfast is good. Lots of choices. Coffee maker was great, needs a larger cup (my complaint). Morning front desk staff, very very pleasant and full of info. Will stay here again!

Full kitchen with two tables low and high top, pull out sleeper sofa and a roomy living area with desk. Roomy shower stocked with the amenities you need. Super clean. The pool area was huge! Warm inviting water, sparkling clean, with arcade games at one end and tables and chairs throughout. The complementary breakfast had choices for everyone. Scrambled Eggs, bacon, potatoes, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, muffins, breads, bagels, yogurt, juices, waters, coffee, tea, and fruit. Great stay would definitely choose this hotel again

There was a short wait for check in. Diamond status was acknowledged and I was given a choice of 2 beverages: water or soda. The room/bathroom was clean. There were 2 sinks in the room which was a huge plus. However there is only 1 hook in the bathroom and the bathroom is on the smaller size. The beds are also on the smaller size. Breakfast was good, large seating area with lots of tables/chairs. Good variety of food too and there were 2 waffle makers. Breakfast staff was busy refilling the food and cleaning up. They use ceramic plates/bowls and metal utensils here instead of the disposable/plastic cutlery and plates. There is a coffee/espresso machine by the front desk but it only worked 1 of the 3 days we were there.

Needless to say, the place was booked solid, and I was very happy to have made my reservation 11 months prior to avoid the "dynamic pricing" others were experiencing throughout the region. It is very conveniently located right off of the I-87 exit and is surrounded by numerous shopping and dining options. Our room was ready when we arrived at 3:30 and check in was fast and easy. The rooms themselves are slightly smaller and laid out differently than a standard Holiday Inn Express, and I suspect this property was converted from another brand. All that said, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool was a nice area to kill some time in, and the exercise room was appointed well enough to meet all but the most serious gym-rat's needs. The staff here was outstanding. Despite being absolutely stuffed to the gills with guests, they went out of their way to make sure everything was stocked, clean and ready to go. When I was in the lobby waiting for my food delivery the first night, I watched the poor woman behind the desk greet 3 customers who drove in off the street looking for a room and answer phone calls from several more. She answered all of their questions patiently and with a smile. Not once did, "of course there are no rooms left in this small college town that is in the path of totality the night before the eclipse, you cueball brained nimrod!" come out of her mouth, and that's significantly better than I would have fared if placed in the same situation all day long. I'm not sure if and when I'll be back in the Plattsburgh area, but if I am, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My room was large, and the bed was comfortable. It was both reasonably dark and quiet, though I could occasionally hear a sounds from occupants in nearby rooms, and also trucks on I-87, as my room overlooked the back of the hotel and faced the interstate. My check-in experience was not up to standard. When I got to the desk, a young woman walked in from an entryway behind their side of the front desk, smiled, and then immediately walked away. Seconds later, a much younger blonde gentleman came in to check me in. What was unusual about it was that all he did was take my name and then hand me my keys. He did not ask to see my ID or credit card, which might be viewed as a security/validation concern. Also, when he handed my the keys in their holder, he did not write the room number on the card, and I had to ask for the room number twice. (That also makes it tougher for checking out if you don't remember to tell whoever is at the desk your room number as you drop off the keys). This guy also couldn't bother to provide me any information verbally, such as welcoming me based on my Choice Privileges status, breakfast hours, pool or gym information, etc.. It really felt like he didn't want to be there and didn't want to do more than the absolute minimum. Elevators are minimal in this hotel. Breakfast hours were printed on my card holder, luckily. The breakfast area was large, clean, and pretty well supplied. It included two waffle stations, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, hot sausage patties, and these individual flattened eggs with a yellow center dusted with pepper. If you want something a little more elaborate, you can of course go down a ramp to the Perkins restaurant, though you'll be paying for that breakfast. Nothing here was a deal-breaker in terms of my experience here, and I'd certainly stay here again.

The door would hit anyone standing at the sink. Not wheelchair friendly and lighting was nill. The bed looked nice but we found to be very firm. It does have a wine fridge and microwave in the room. Navigating the hotel halls can be an adventure as the signage is misleading and not all rooms are in numerical order. The Champs Gaming was ok, we had issues with machines not working but the staff was great about crediting back quickly. The on site bar was a let down the bartender though nice was inattentive and seemed to lack standard drink knowledge. Also they did not have, Jack, Knob Creek, Makers, Crown and several other spirits that I find to be generally common. The bartender just said they were out so either someone's really bad at doing their liquor order seeing these come by the case, or.... There were no empty spots visible for additional bottles to go. Gym was very nice, however, the saunas are in each respective locker room so if you're looking to relax with someone special unless they are the same sex it's not a possibility. Some pictures of the property showed a regular pool & hot tub, neither are actually at this property. There is only the mini waterpark, which looks cool but opens at 4 and closes at 9, in between loaded with kids. Perkins Restaurant is onsite, I found the food to be "eh", IMO IHOP does a better in taste & selection. The property inside as said has had a major facelift and is very well maintained even with loads of young children. Parking is decent, though more salt could be used when ice is present. The continental breakfast is pretty basic. Nothing over the top. Simple grab and go. Overall ok but probably won't be returning. Definitely good easy get-away if you have young children.
