Maybe it's off of I-87 & in ways you got options for dining nearby whether city or town of Plattsburgh but you also have transit access via Clinton County system & within walking is Greyhound/Trailways spots (okay different places but within walking distance) & breakfast maybe not like very recent one but still okay & not like one place I did. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel is not a place you want your small children playing or showering for that matter. I stayed 7/26/25 in room 138 and let me stay my short was ended after 4 hrs. Immediately walking to store, I was greeted with duck tape and room 138 handwritten on door. Bed linens looked clean however wash cloths were stained and clearly not white. Ceiling in shower warped like it was going to cave in. We found spider webs with actual spider and its prey in corner ceiling. Empty soda cans under bed. Clearly room is not cleaned to hotel standards. I wouldn't allow my children to have bare feet on carpet, or sit on toilet seat. What took us over the edge was the cockroach that literally popped on my bed while I was laying there. I immediately packed up my family and we left. If you're looking for a cheap rundown motel to stay at this is your place. Otherwise run and find another place to stay. I would give this hotel 0 stars. read more

Had a pretty good overnight stay here. We arrived actually kinda early around 3pm but they were just finishing getting the room ready so it was nice. The room was very clean and more spacious than I expected.. definitely enjoy being on first floor very close to the car. Only minor issue we had was with the key card wasn't working but a trip to the front desk they gave us back up key for it. It's nice they have an outdoor pool only too bad weather was too cold to fully enjoy it. Every other amenity was working great. Just maybe the bathroom might need some touch ups. However given the price and location it's definitely well worth the stay :) a little farther from historical Plattsburgh area but it's very very close to I87. Definitely a happy stay overall read more

For a $199 room ($224.39 with taxes) I expected a television that worked, a bed that didn't sag in the middle, and an entranceway that wasn't generally dirty and littered with cigarette butts. The "grab & go" breakfast bag (muffins, donuts, and a granola bar) was unacceptable; I left it behind. While the staff were all pleasant and helpful, they could not make up for these deficiencies. read more

I've been a chef for 30 years an executive chef for 20 ran my own restaurant. As much as we would like to pretend that even when we are not working we never actually leave the hospitality world. So we always fiñd ourselves constantly judging others and how they treat us in their professional setting compared to how we would treat them in our professional setting so with that said Im in NY at the American best value inn the day after Thanksgiving five minutes after the contenital breakfast was done being offered which is suppose to be given to us as an appreciation for giving you our business. So I find myself in the company of other hotel guests looking for our Continental breakfast in appreciation of our business when confronted the staff and Management who luckily were standing side by side. (Which never happens right) you would think Management which motto should be the customer is always right, the bitter pill as a Chef I not only ingest daily but I also must show this example to my suet chef & GM this is our montes in the hospitality world. .. the person obviously with the responsibility of taking care of breakfast actually looked at her Fearless Leader for direction , which as a boss my self ....( At that very moment he should've started feeling embarrassed about not only his poor employee training or Management skills ) But it was obvious to me and the other hotel guests that the word Hospitality isn't a guide line in World of American best Inn , It's to bad they put the word American in their tittle cause I'd hate to think we give tourists the impression that this poor display is actually the best America has to offer, You would think just simply by putting our country's name in their tittle they would at least make an actual effort to try to make it America's best. The following I probably would've mentioned if it wasn't for the previous B.S. I also quickly would like to add the light switch in the bathroom is busted, the fan stays on their for the bathroom is freezing first thing in the morning & the bed frame doesn't even fit the mattress, my wife and myself both cut our feet from the extending metal from the bedframe that extends from both sides of the bed, milk craits would've worked better We even paid for the full week in advance. I think if I've kept you're attention this long you know my opinion of this place by now I should add I've just gotten home yet of the hospital and have a neck brace and about 30 stables on my scalp from the accedient. read more

FIRST! I'm surprised this place didn't come up as a search, I had to add it. This place is old! Alright so this place is kind of old and smelly. I had to leave the door open and the fan on for a little while to air it out. It's an old motel that's ok for less than $100 a night. I had to switch rooms from the first floor to the second floor because there were kids runing around upstairs of me. So I recommend a second floor room. They've got free continental breakfast (I think that means cold items), free WiFi, outdoor pool and it's pretty conveniently located off I 81. There's loads of restaurants, gas stations and a Wal-Mart on this street so you'll have everything you need for a brief stay. Overall it's a bit dumpy. If you're paying less than $100/night, it's ok. read more

Let me start off by saying I accidentally booked this room instead of the Best Western down the street. I knew it was a cheap hotel so it would probably be a little old and run down. But I figured "hey I'm only there for one night, I'm sure it'll be fine!" WRONG. The room was FILTHY. -The bathroom had CLEARLY not been cleaned - the shower faucet was covered in soap scum, and hairs that were not mine were found in the sink. -The dorm-style chairs provided in the room were not only stained, but broken. - Keeping in the theme, every piece of furniture was either stained or scratched (not a big deal, but still). - Again, not a big deal, but there were only three pillows on a queen bed which I found weird? I was sharing the bed with another person, so just a bit off. - I've saved the worst for last. Both the duvet AND THE SHEETS were stained. And Im not talking small stains here. At the top of the bed near the pillows, I found MULTIPLE brown stains on the white sheets. WHAT KIND OF HOTEL LEAVES STAINED SHEETS ON A BED?! Moral of the story, we returned to our room after dinner, packed up, and left. Do yourself a favor and spend $30 extra to stay literally anywhere else in town. The America's Best Value Inn is a clean, comfortable place to stay right off Interstate 87 that's convenient to a number of events in Plattsburgh. I recently stayed there for two nights while attending a wedding. The reception was held at the Butcher Block's Adirondack Room, so ABVI was the closest hotel. I ended up booking two separate reservations since I had booked the first night before learning of the venue. The first night I stayed in a room with two double beds that was a typical budget hotel room. The room had a flat screen LCD TV, mini fridge, and microwave and had some shelves and a bar tohang clothesin the back of the room. For my second night, I had upgraded to a Jacuzzi king suite. The room had similar amenities to the first worth the addition of a chair and ottoman. The Jacuzzi was in the bathroom and was large enough to fit four or five people. I've stayed in a few rooms with whirlpools in them, but this was definitely the largest. Toiletries included two bars of soap and a squeeze bottle of conditioning shampoo. Both rooms were clean and appeared to be well-maintained. The front desk attendant, knowing that we had a wedding to get to, had our room ready before 11am, allowing us plenty of time to resettle and get ready, which made the stay hassle free. The exterior corridors allowed me to park right in front of the room both nights. The only thing that left something to be desired was the breakfast. It consisted of coffee, tea, milk, orange juice from concentrate, pastries, toast, and cereal. The only gluten free option was corn flakes. Personally, though, I'm a big raisin bran fan, so the breakfast was good enough to get my day started until I had a midday brunch. read more

This hotel is very clearly under new ownership and they seem to be doing heir absolute best to provide a warm welcoming and comfortable environment for their guests. We had a small issue with our television that was remedied immediately and with courtesy. Room was clean and had a jacuzzi. The room was older but clean, smelled fresh and well maintained. read more

I stayed here once before but fortunate the second stay wasn't great. I appreciate renovations but it was annoying hearing power tools right below my window. They were replacing the wood and vent that held the air conditioning unit. Our room wasn't visited by the housekeepers. I only noticed one time they replaced two wash cloths and a hand towel. Our beds were never made, I took out my own garbage, and we stayed from Thursday to Sunday. Unfortunately for us during our last night we had a bad leak in the bathroom and couldn't get a new room because they weren't any vacancies. They refunded me $20, less than 10% of my stay. Hearing the drip was annoying and although they provided extra towels the floor was soaked and I was afraid of falling. Also it was coming out the light so an electrical fire was on my mind. We used the bathroom in the dark. As always the staff is great, and the light breakfast they provide is a nice little incentive but after this stay I will not be returning. I didn't appreciate the housekeepers smoking cigarettes in common areas where smoke is wafting into my car with my kids in it-but I understand it is a smoking and non smoking hotel. They also were cleaning separate rooms but yelling to each other through open doors. I also wish they would have renovated while we were gone for the day or at least let us know they would literally be working in our window. We left early and returned and it seemed they got louder around 4/5 pm. Hopefully they are done. The new touches were nice but not necessary in my opinion. Just keep it clean, shampoo the carpets, and replace the bed sheets that have cigarette burns. Sorry this is so long but I just wanted to explain my rating. Thank you read more

This is the dirtiest most inconsiderate and trashy place I've ever stayed. They had rundown everything and all the rooms stink like cigarettes smoke. They tried putting me in another room because the first one had people above me doing construction and the second room had cigarettes burns all over the carpet and both comforters. The beds were wrinkled like someone slept on them nd after 2 tries at giving me a decent romm wouldn't give my $80 back. Real scumbags. I walked out and got a room next door for the same price at the econo lodge. The Americas best should be condemned. The staff here is amazing. They attend to every need or request personally and with a great attitude. I had to call and ask about how the tv worked (there are two remotes and I told them we only had one..... Which I accidentally laid my suitcase on the other and didn't see it) the front desk attendant came to our room with another remote and also brought us all the menus for food that could be delivered there, as my husband is a pizza freak lol. They have remodelled and the entrance has a grand stone fireplace. The rooms were clean and nice, mind you this is not a five star but for $80 a night including taxes it was worth every penny. Beds are a little hard, but the service made up for that. read more

Pretty good decent place to stay. 65 dollars for a two bed room thats a great deal. pretty spacious comes equipped with soap, towels, iron, desk, television, chair, coffee machine, microwave, blow dryer, lotion, "conditioning" shampoo. theres also a heater/conditioner (left my hair feeling nourished shiny and healthy), and it kept us decently warm going up to 86 degrees, we had to cling to our blankets but the temperature was livable. The person at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was from 8-9 and it included bales (everything, raisin, plain) from the brand "L'oven Fresh" which has standard average ingredient not particularly special, but decent. white and wheat bread from the same company. The jelly, peanut butter were made from basic and good ingredients. They offered raisin brand, fruit loops, and frosted flakes with milk. They offered orange juice and apple juice. Definitely steer clear of the blueberry and banana muffins, theyre gross. They offered organic black breakfast tea which was great. Over all good experience. I stayed at this hotel for 2 days and not once did the room get made up or cleaned while we were out of the room. We asked for the room to be cleaned and no one came to even make the beds or give us new towels. When I asked what the excuse was for not cleaning the room the owner said "the old lady with you said not to"....the old lady he was referring about was my mother who was outraged that he made her out to be a liar! The cleaning lady had been around every other room except ours. The room smelled of mold, the entire carpet was wet, and the sheets had stains on it. This room was gross beyond comprehension and unfortunately we had no choice but to stay being that I would have lost my money because I had already paid!! The owner and his wife were rude and should look into other means of making money to be honest. read more

I stayed there for over 3 weeks and never got my sheets changed. The only thing I got were towels and toliet paper becuase I caught the house keeper while going in and out of my room. The floor was never vacuumed and nothing was ever wipes down or clean. I would not recommend this hotel. read more

The $5 continental breakfast was muffins, toast with sunny Delight. I wanted to use their microwave in the kitchen and was glared at by a worker. She tried to shoo me away.
