Friendly service and clean lobby. Nice size rooms and a spacious bathroom. On our trip to Canada, we stopped here twice. Both times however, they "ran out of soap"?? Their pool was a decent size, but the hot tub was out of outer. Finally, ever since covid, I've seen all Marriott breakfasts go down hill. That being said, their breakfast was OK, but I have a few complaints. Mainly, the waffles were soggy and overly sweet. Minor inconveniences, but nothing majorly wrong with the hotel itself

I emailed Regional Manager Nik Patel as well as customer.care@marriott.com after my stay but neither party cared to get back to me. Thought I'd write and discuss my recent experience at the Plattsburgh, NY Marriot. I stayed there Saturday June 11th until June 12th. I am a loyal Marriott customer and stay at Marriott hotels when travelling for business and pleasure whenever possible. I've always been impressed with my Marriot experiences up until this weekend. My wife and I decided to spend the weekend motorcycling through the Adirondack Mountain range. I noticed that Plattsburgh had a Marriott so booked it well in advance. We arrived around 9pm on Saturday night and were greeted by a pleasant front desk woman. She told us to come down for a continental breakfast between 6am and 9am. We were checked in and had no issues. The only thing I will say I noticed was the wall paper around the toilet was discolored.... I believe it's from heavy cleaners, but at initial sight it looks like urine splatter all across the wall. I can overlook things like this in a hotel as I understand not everything is going to be perfect. What I can't overlook was my experience the following day. We woke up and went down for breakfast just before 8:30am. There was nothing out... Everything was cleared out. All that was there was an almost empty coffee carafe and a toaster with plates beside it. I asked front desk about it and they claimed that breakfast had already been cleaned up. I pointed to a sign right at the breakfast counter advertising that breakfast went until 9am. The front desk girl went back to the kitchen and the kitchen women came out and told up she cleans up breakfast before 8:30am..... I told her breakfast was advertised until 9am.... she then said she would get something but couldn't get bread because, "due to covid Marriott won't let us put bread out anymore". Then why is there a toaster with plates beside it? I have stayed at a number of Marriott's during the heart of Covid and they all had bread out (Canadian Marriotts). They all had 2 slices of bread wrapped together so people didn't make contact with other people's breakfast. The juice machine was also marked "out of order" with no other options (such as juice put out). I checked the machine thinking maybe only one juice of out but the entire machine was broken. Anyways, while we sat, a family of 2 adults and 3 kids came down, as well as a single gentleman, and discovered the same breakfast experience as us, then left. A women at a table near us was drinking coffee and commented to us that she came down at 8:20am and there was nothing out. She was unhappy. At around 8:45am the kitchen girl brought out some rock hard scones, the cereal stands, and a couple breakfast sandwiches. Another room arrived right away and took all the breakfast sandwiches leaving none and they weren't refilled. My wife had some cereal but all there was for milk was Homogenized Milk, Almond Milk or Soy Milk.... no 2% or Skim which are the most common...... I sat and had a coffee and saw the kitchen woman come out and what I believe to be the maintenance man approach her and told her she should keep breakfast out until 9am but other then that, "she is doing an awesome job", then yelled "cool beans" across the dining room..... I might be less annoyed by this but I have now read the reviews for this Marriott and the last 2 months of reviews cite the exact same breakfast issues that I had so I know this is an ongoing issue. As a result of your staff not doing their job properly, my wife and I had to go out for breakfast to the nearby Perkins for a total of $32 which was an unnecessary expense. I'm not complaining about spending $32 dollars, I'm complaining about the principle behind it. I know this isn't a standard Marriott experience, this is in-fact, the only bad Marriott experience I've ever had. I included pictures taken of the "breakfast" taken at 8:45am. I also included the pictures of the bathroom in our room. You should likely consider re-wall papering.......

Checked in and found this in the bathroom. Lucky for them I'm too tired to move to another room. #MarriottFail

This is a quaint little hotel in a quaint little city. I've stayed here a few times and haven't really had much to say either good or bad. This time when I checked in, it looks like housekeeping did a bad job in cleaning the room. There was a used towel and showercap hanging behind the bathroom door, some random hair in the tub and you could tell that the sheets weren't changed and prepared for a new guest. My guess is that they cleaned the room as if the previous guest was coming back instead of a new guest coming in. The good news is that when I informed the front desk, they had me speak to the manager and everyone was very understanding and apologetic. Not my normal experience here, but worth noting. Again, the staff at the hotel were great in handling the situation and expect that this is just a one-off.

I stayed in a 3rd floor suite on June 8-11, 2025 shortly after a major renovation of all the rooms…read more I have stayed in suites in this Microtel many times previously and been very satisfied. This time it was very unsatisfactory due to changes made during the renovation. I've never seen a renovation where the rooms were made WORSE. They had removed the coffee table, a small rectangular table with two chairs where I used to eat my dinner and conduct business, and also the end table next to the couch so there was nowhere to put my purse, backpack, books, etc. They had also removed the closet area and replaced it with a few "knobs" with hangers. They had also removed a long shelf in the bathroom where I used to put my toiletries, now forcing me to leave them at the side of the sink or on the floor. Also removed any towel rods in the bathroom, again replacing them with colored "knobs" that look like something out of an IKEA showroom. I inquired at the desk if the removal of the furniture was permanent, if the table and chairs and coffee table would be put back. The clerk was not sure and said there was some furniture "on order" that had not arrived yet. She said "we don't like it either" referring to the removal of so many features from the rooms. I will not be staying in this property again unless there is furniture in the room! There is no place to sit and eat and nowhere to put many of my belongings.

This was rated one of the highest including big chain hotels usually 3+ stars or higher. I arrived, lots of parking and lights outside. The property is pretty new in the area. Lobby bright and clean. Front desk check in was easy and friendly enough. Elevator was quick, clean and bright. Hallway signs to Rooms were marked perfectly!! Hotel hallway very clean and quiet. Rooms are large, beds firm, furnished great. Only missing a coffee maker, it has refrigerator and microwave. Nice desk, lots of drawers and storage. Plenty of comfortable pillows. Heat and ac work great. Bathroom was nice, good size tub. Plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Good lighting throughout the room. Continental breakfast is good. Lots of choices. Coffee maker was great, needs a larger cup (my complaint). Morning front desk staff, very very pleasant and full of info. Will stay here again!

There was a short wait for check in. Diamond status was acknowledged and I was given a choice of 2 beverages: water or soda. The room/bathroom was clean. There were 2 sinks in the room which was a huge plus. However there is only 1 hook in the bathroom and the bathroom is on the smaller size. The beds are also on the smaller size. Breakfast was good, large seating area with lots of tables/chairs. Good variety of food too and there were 2 waffle makers. Breakfast staff was busy refilling the food and cleaning up. They use ceramic plates/bowls and metal utensils here instead of the disposable/plastic cutlery and plates. There is a coffee/espresso machine by the front desk but it only worked 1 of the 3 days we were there.

In fact, a bunch of people outside too...must have been a large group together - I think it was for a Soccer match among high schools. The reason for the low score was the noise level. When there are sports teams staying, they should all be in the same wing of the hotel. Yes, wing. There are several wings and it did not appear that they were all together. High schooler can be jerks and very loud - we had to call management on them. The breakfast was great - there was even almond milk available for us non-dairy drinkers.

Needless to say, the place was booked solid, and I was very happy to have made my reservation 11 months prior to avoid the "dynamic pricing" others were experiencing throughout the region. It is very conveniently located right off of the I-87 exit and is surrounded by numerous shopping and dining options. Our room was ready when we arrived at 3:30 and check in was fast and easy. The rooms themselves are slightly smaller and laid out differently than a standard Holiday Inn Express, and I suspect this property was converted from another brand. All that said, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool was a nice area to kill some time in, and the exercise room was appointed well enough to meet all but the most serious gym-rat's needs. The staff here was outstanding. Despite being absolutely stuffed to the gills with guests, they went out of their way to make sure everything was stocked, clean and ready to go. When I was in the lobby waiting for my food delivery the first night, I watched the poor woman behind the desk greet 3 customers who drove in off the street looking for a room and answer phone calls from several more. She answered all of their questions patiently and with a smile. Not once did, "of course there are no rooms left in this small college town that is in the path of totality the night before the eclipse, you cueball brained nimrod!" come out of her mouth, and that's significantly better than I would have fared if placed in the same situation all day long. I'm not sure if and when I'll be back in the Plattsburgh area, but if I am, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My room was large, and the bed was comfortable. It was both reasonably dark and quiet, though I could occasionally hear a sounds from occupants in nearby rooms, and also trucks on I-87, as my room overlooked the back of the hotel and faced the interstate. My check-in experience was not up to standard. When I got to the desk, a young woman walked in from an entryway behind their side of the front desk, smiled, and then immediately walked away. Seconds later, a much younger blonde gentleman came in to check me in. What was unusual about it was that all he did was take my name and then hand me my keys. He did not ask to see my ID or credit card, which might be viewed as a security/validation concern. Also, when he handed my the keys in their holder, he did not write the room number on the card, and I had to ask for the room number twice. (That also makes it tougher for checking out if you don't remember to tell whoever is at the desk your room number as you drop off the keys). This guy also couldn't bother to provide me any information verbally, such as welcoming me based on my Choice Privileges status, breakfast hours, pool or gym information, etc.. It really felt like he didn't want to be there and didn't want to do more than the absolute minimum. Elevators are minimal in this hotel. Breakfast hours were printed on my card holder, luckily. The breakfast area was large, clean, and pretty well supplied. It included two waffle stations, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, hot sausage patties, and these individual flattened eggs with a yellow center dusted with pepper. If you want something a little more elaborate, you can of course go down a ramp to the Perkins restaurant, though you'll be paying for that breakfast. Nothing here was a deal-breaker in terms of my experience here, and I'd certainly stay here again.

The reception area/room/cottage is right on the side of the road, and after clearing everything, you drive like 300 meters to the hotel. Roads around the hotel are not that good (Potholes and all), and if you are reaching here at night, it's kinda confusing. Make sure you know how to reach the hotel from the reception area. And yes, if you are here in the reception area and not finding anyone, means the receptionist has gone to the hotel to attend to some business, and it can take 20-30 minutes, as they walk to the hotel and come back- that's kind of frustrating . Anyway, we got a room on the 2nd floor, I was fine climbing stairs with luggage but not sure about old folks. My room and bathroom were fairly clean, well well-lit- no issues at all.
