The rooms look like it would need updates soon but surprisingly, I didn't sneeze at all! Meaning that was cleaned pretty well! Pictures in the website looks newer. Mattresses definitely need replacement! It's like waterbed in the mid-part. They have no 2pm late check out for Gold members but they were able to manage letting us stay until 1:30pm since there was not a lot of bookings that time. Pool was not as big but warm, water samples are taken at least once a day. Hot breakfast served with fruits, pancakes, cereals. Coffee available at the lobby 24/7. Ample parking space and near cafes, restos, fastfoods... It's 30min away from Ben and Jerry's factory tour. Almost 20min away from the Waterfront. read more

Are the rooms a little in need of touch ups, sure. Do the doors slam shut rather loudly, yes. That being said, the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a nice variety of items such as bacon, potatoes, waffles, multiple bread options, eggs in two different forms, and more. We did not find bed bugs or any other type of bugs in our room, despite what other reviews mention. We would definitely stay here again. read more

We found the hotel to be an excellent choice for our trip to the Burlington area. The staff was both efficient and at the same time friendly. The room was an upgrade because we are Hilton members. The room was bright and comfortable. The facility offers an expansive assortment for the included breakfast - Eggs, Sausage, Waffles,, Fruit, Yogurt and Cereal. The variety is broad enough to appeal to everyone. We enjoyed our stay. We only found one thing that we were not used to - the bathroom sink. The sink is Very Small and it makes it hard to wash your face without bumping your head on the shelf. I would describe this sink as a Design Flaw. read more

Had my reservations about booking this hotel while visiting Burlington. Despite what other reviewers said, we did not find any issues with our room or the hotel being dirty or outdated. Checked for bed bugs and found none in our room on the fifth floor. The General Manager Joel took the time to come visit the guests during breakfast. In all my years of staying in hotels which are quite a few. I've only stayed at one other hotel where the GM has done this. They get the extra star for this. We had my late wife's celebration of life in the ballroom of the conference center yesterday. Judy, the sales director, and her staff, did an amazing job to make it more than I had hoped it would be. Even though everyone showed up an hour earlier than planned, (my error), the staff took it in stride and made the snafu invisible to the 125 attendees. The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Every time someone leaves their room, the door slams shut making it impossible to ignore the noise. Books huge parties, hockey playing in the hallways, noise everywhere. Front desk rude, uncooperative and dismissive. Prices are through the roof. My mother and I stayed here on Nov 6,2024. The minute we walked through the front door it smelt musty. We continued to check in and head to our room which was on the 3rd floor. The hallway to our room smelt of marijuana. When entered our room which was absolutely disgusting! Floor was dirty, bathroom door didn't shut all the way, toilet knob was busted, a metal piece in the wall was sticking out and completely covered in dust! Overall experience here wasn't that great and with all the elderly people that they accommodate, it's not age friendly because their elevator is always down, I felt bad for them trying their best to walk up/down the stairs. Breakfast: I find it weird that the breakfast lady has a tip jar near the eggs/sausage and it tastes bad, it doesn't look presentable and there's a strong odor near the oatmeal section. It smells like sour milk or one of the garbage cans needs a good wash. If they were making omelet on the spot and not warming up omelets then a tip jar makes sense but warming food up to be served and wanting a tip, doesn't make sense. Rooms: it feels like you're sleeping in an attic. This hotel needs to be renovated from bottom to top. I'm sure this use to be one of the best hotels back in the days, it's looking like a motel now days. read more

Conveniently located right off the highway, this hotel was a good place to stay for the night. The front parking lot was full but the back parking lot was deserted. I arrived at night, went to sleep, got up, showered, used the free wifi, and got back on the road. I didn't use the amenities like room service/gym/pool/breakfast. I did grab a cup of free coffee in the morning and it was very good coffee. At check-in the employee gave me a little bag of trail mix and a bottle of water, which I appreciated. The reception area also had a large carafe of water with orange slices which was refreshing after a long hot car ride. More snacks/beverages/basic medications were available for purchase in a small room behind the front desk. (See photo). The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, the room was clean and quiet, and I slept soundly. I liked that the air conditioner got the room to a nice cool temperature without making much noise. My only complaints are about the bathroom. The bathroom and closet share one door. It's one sliding rectangle that covers either the bathroom or the closet. Weird design. The sink and counter are also smaller than an expensive hotel like this usually has. read more

Our daughter moved to Burlington almost three years ago from NYC. When we visit about twice a year for a long weekend to a week, we have always stayed at this Hampton inn location. We have found the staff consistently friendly and accommodating. I love the complimentary full breakfast here. While we normally stay at Hampton Inn elsewhere, the food here is prepared with a bit more care. Always appealing, refreshed, and attractively displayed. The fruit is delicious with just the right amount of ripeness. The juices and coffees are often readily refilled. I see the staff cleaning tables, areas, and floors. The area and food are just consistently well cared for. This is our third morning as I sit here and I see the effort being made. The only area of improvement is the every other day clean room policy that all hotels seem to have adopted, unfortunately. We do ask for a daily cleaning - particularly fresh towels and emptied garbage cans - but it's not consistently followed through. Otherwise though, the is generally clean and dust free. The location is very convenient, super near the highway entrance/exit, an excellent CVS, a Shaws supermarket, gas station and the only Costco in the state down the road! It's also a 5-7 minute drive from Burlington's Lake Champlain area. It's highly recommended all around! read more

When we were there one of waffle machines was broken and no water at breakfast. The water dispenser on juice machine was broken. We requested bottled water from front desk. The staff at breakfast was not friendly. The front desk staff was very friendly. They have flavored water in lobby. There are no afternoon cookies at this hampton. Management recently did away with that. You enter this hotel on the third floor. We were lucky to have a room on that floor. One of the elevators was broken during our stay. We never had an issue finding a parking spot. The location is right off the interstate. You can be in downtown Burlington in less than 15 minutes. The hotel is across from a CVS. Run, don't walk away from the Hampton Inn Colchester. Dishonest Overbilling Scheme I should have listened to the other terrible reviews about this location. They are dishonest, unethical, and non-responsive. I made a reservation and paid for it in points. (see image attached). Arrived very late and they said their "system was down" but gave me a room key and said all was good. The hotel was just "ok". Two weeks later a credit card charge from the on my account for $284.90. I have called them no less than 20 times and the "manager" is never available. I finally reached him after pretending to call about something else and he said he would "have to contact the points people". I never heard back from him and was never able to get him on the telephone again. Absolutely despicable and dishonest business to deal with. Naturally I was able to file a dispute with my credit card company, But that is time consuming, as I had to send them receipted documentation and fill out the claim forms, etc. I should not have had to do all that. I caught the hotel in their overbilling swindle/scam and they should have owned up to it and "made it right". I wonder how many other people have never caught this on their credit card billings ? I also filed a complaint with Hilton corporate, however from the sound of it, all they do is forward to the hotel. I never heard back from them. read more

First time at this hotel and it was nice and convenient. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Wifi worked just fine. Breakfast was what you would expect so if you like the typical stuff offered, then you will be fine. I do love waffles and they have waffles! Coffee station was great, too. Overall nice hotel, nice indoor pool, big lobby etc. There is a restaurant in the parking lot called the Lighthouse and it was decent and of course, convenient. I only have two suggestions for the hotel staff - clean the lighted ceiling in the elevator ... and I wish the towels provided at the pool were bigger. They are sooooo small! I've stayed at the Hampton Inn Colchester/Burlington before without incident, so this was my second visit. I unfortunately have some negatives: - : We were both incredibly allergic to something in the room, though what I have no idea. Was there an animal in there right before us? A ton of mold? No idea, except within an hour of being the room both nights, we both thought we were getting sick, only to realize it was the room when we felt better as soon as we left the hotel. - : The elevator was broken for our entire stay. The hotel is weird and the lobby is on floor 3 - with only a single elevator serving floor 5. So, stairs for us all weekend, but at least it was only 2 flights instead of five. Twelve thumbs down, though, for lugging our luggage on the stairs. (We were offered 5,000 Hilton Honors points as a sorry) - : We were never offered bottles water at check in, which we always are at Hampton Inn properties. One of the two room keys never worked. - : The parking gets a bit tight (there's a restaurant in the same parking lot), though there is more hotel parking around back. If you park back there, though, be prepared to walk through the smokers who literally sit up against the back entrance (and the whole lower level smelled like smoke as a result, gross). - : The pillows are a joke. You can stack 3 and your head will still be on the mattress. And a few positives: + : breakfast is one of the reasons I often go Hampton Inn and the breakfast here was the same quality I expect from Hampton Inns. + : Rooms were recently-ish renovated and look nice. This hotel used to be the best in the area. I have been using the Hampton Inn in this location since 1992. Unfortunately the last few times it has left A LOT to be desired. The building itself is showing signs of disrepair. The carpeting in the lobby and hallways is starting to bunch in places and it's just very worn and dirty. Elevators are constantly broken. Doors to get in from the different parking lots don't work so you have to walk very far with your bags. The room itself was filthy this last time. Hair on the walls of the shower. The surfaces in the room look like they haven't been wiped down or cleaned in quite some time. There was no ice bucket and the front desk staff was very rude when I asked for one. The cherry on top is that I was charged twice for this last stay and the refuse to refund one of the charges. The general manager is conveniently never available to rectify this and the assistant manager "cannot authorize" refunding one of the charges. I've also called corporate who was of no help. Stay somewhere else, this place is not worth even one star. read more

This is a pretty good Hampton Inn. It is large, yet it is prone to booking up from time to time. They have an arrangement with some of the airlines and often are populated with airline crewmembers. We usually try and book a Hampton Inn when we travel because it's our favorite hotel, but this experience didn't live up to previous experiences. I called the hotel the day before check in to ask about a shuttle service to the airport so we knew when we should return our rental car and was told that they'd be happy to provide transport. At check in, I booked the shuttle with the front desk and the attendant said we were good to go, but suggested that I confirm the next morning half an hour before the shuttle was scheduled to arrive. In the morning I went to the front desk 45 minutes before we were supposed to leave and Darren told me that there was no shuttle available, he didn't have an answer for why I was able to schedule one, and that our only option was to call a cab company (with five people plus luggage, at the last minute) because he "didn't have anyone available" and they "don't provide shuttle service". Upset, I went up to our room to try and reserve a cab (again, at the very last minute) while my husband went back down to the front desk to try and find another solution. Ten minutes later he came back up and said that they'd decided to provide us shuttle service after all. I'm glad there was a resolution, but I'm left wondering why Darren was so dismissive to me and yet gave my husband the proper service when pressed. I wasn't rude so I'm not sure why I wasn't offered any help. I think the real problem here is that Darren just didn't feel like making a phone call to find a driver (this really should've been done the night before) and didn't care that we could have missed our flight if we were unable to find a cab. Separately, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was good, but the wifi didn't work and most importantly, the mattress was very uncomfortable. This place really offers more than meets the eye! Stayed for the night of July 4, as a visitor from Montreal, this was my first time at any hotel in the area. I heard a lot about the Hampton Inn on the radio and upon learning they renovated all rooms in April, I was very enticed. Location wise, it's great, you're close to everything, and a minute away from the Costco. Love the free parking, free wifi and as a Hilton Honors member, I was able to select my specific room in advance. I wanted something on a top floor, in a corner, and got just that. Front staff is friendly and helpful. I had requested extra pillows and a whopping 8 were ready on the bed when we arrived. Little touches really made an impact. There's 3 types of complimentary coffee, tea, hot cocoa mix and fruits all day in the lobby. Free cookies and milk at 8:30 and the buffet breakfast is delicious! The omelettes were cheesy and moist, not dried up like at other buffets, same with the sausages. As for the rooms, they are updated but not overly. Some of the original furniture was kept so I noticed some dings and scratches on the dresser/drawers for example. But the wall paper, carpet, light fixtures and most of the bathroom are brand new. Corner room 432 which has a king bed with a pull-out couch was smaller than I thought but the vaulted ceilings and design of the window made it very cozy and pleasant to stay in. The bed was too soft for me unfortunately. In terms of bathroom toiletries, they are all quality Neutrogena products. Also, each room has a fridge and microwave, how convenient! If you want a cozy, clean and modern place to stay, this has it all with extra perks. read more

Very loud vehicles every 10-15 minutes and the pullout couch is so squeaky. The toilet paper and tissues are tougher a military grade fabric. One waffle maker is out of order. But on a good note the Cinnabon's are the best. The pool is 5 feet deep in the deep end. People don't appreciate the rule of no pets and keep you up all night barking. I woke up not feeling well and asked my wife to bring up some breakfast vs me going down. I frequently stay at Hilton and IHG hotels for business and had mistakenly told her that breakfast service was until 10:30. Apparently I was wrong, as I never eat breakfast late in hotels. After she ate, she was trying to prepare a plate for me right at 10am when she saw the attendant packing items up. The breakfast attendant asked her to throw away the english muffin she was holding. She then shut off the waffle maker WHILE it was cooking. She also said very rude things like "don't you look at me like that" after my wife reported her behavior to the front desk. I'm a Hilton Honors Diamond member and that means I stay at Hilton hotels a lot. Lol. So listen to what I'm saying y'all. Lol This Hampton Inn was one of the larger ones I have been to. Lots of rooms and pretty easy to get in and out of. It's just off I-89 and about a 10 minute ride North of the Airport. The rooms are updated, clean and have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. I had zero issues with the room and the front desk was very helpful as well. Cons: The hotel is a little isolated so you will need to drive a mile or two for a McDonald's or BK and there is also a gas station with pizza and a nice store across the street. For more dining options you will need to take a 10 minute ride. The only other negative is that for a Hampton Inn in Burlington, the price was higher than what I'm accustomed to. It seems that other chains (IHG for example) are more normal price wise in this area. Not sure why. Overall it's a nice hotel with great amenities and I will be back when I can catch it on days when the price is right. Enjoy! read more

This was such a disappointing stay and Hampton Inn/Hilton should make some immediate changes because it is so off brand. I specifically chose this Hilton brand hotel (we are Silver/Gold level, so stay within the family) because it could accommodate our family of five in one suite, had appropriate parking for our oversized vehicle, had amenities like breakfast and a pool, and was not going to break the bank too badly. This did not feel like asking for too much. I requested a rollaway bed with our online reservation and called the day before our arrival to confirm a rollaway would be available (I was placed on hold for 10 minutes each of the three times I called). Upon check in (6:30pm), the front desk told us to just call them if the bed was not in place. While checking in, we learn that one bank of elevators is out of order and to only use the front elevator. Ok, but we had parked in the back lot, as all the front spaces were taken. Whatever, inconvenient but doable. Clerk also tells us that the pool is under renovation. That's a bummer, since I specifically looked on the hotel website and there was no mention of the pool being unavailable. When asked, clerk says they have asked corporate to change site, since that is out of their control. He then suggests that we can bowl nearby or play laser tag...you know, for an added fee. He then tells us that cookies are about to be put out in the lobby. Yay, cookies! On our first attempt to enter the room, none of the three key cards worked. Returned to the desk, waited in line again, clerk swiped the cards again, up we go. Cards do not work. Now, we know how to use these cards. We know which way to insert them. We know not to hold them up to cell phones or place them next to credit cards. We even patiently listened to the clerk tell this to us. We carefully held the key cards in such a way that they only touched Hilton air as we returned to the room. (Oh, it's been 20 minutes now since first arriving at the desk). Keys. Do. Not. Work. Wait in line again and now are told that maintenance will have to be called as there are no other rooms. Clerk swipes cards through his magic machine again, and sends us back upstairs to wait for maintenance. We try the cards while waiting, they work. We enter the room, and guess what is missing? Yup: no rollaway bed. We call down, request the rollaway bed. It has now been 30 minutes since we checked in. We visit the car to bring in the last of our things. There is no signage directing us to the working elevator, just arrows to the stairs. We try to figure out which of the hallways might lead to other elevators, but have no luck. We walk up the four flights of stairs instead. You know what would be refreshing right about now? Yup, a dip in the pool. Oh well. So, now it's been an hour since checking in and it's hour 17 of our day. We are really tired and ready to crash, and this is precisely why I had called to confirm the rollaway bed. But it's not there, so we visit the front desk again. Also, we need to use the pullout sofa, but there is no bag o'linens in the closet or any drawer. When we walk down to the front desk, we ask for that as well. I'll speed things up: we ultimately get the rollaway bed and linens after 9pm-- nearly three hours after checkin. We deal with the finicky AC and the slow drain in the tub. We overlook the soap scum. The pullout coach is smaller than we have experienced in other hotels, but we adapt. The front desk gives us a few more towels and we grab an extra roll of tp from housekeeping since our room had none. We don't complain about these things, but each inconvenience stacks up. First morning of breakfast is pretty sparse; we are very familiar with what Hampton typically provides and this is a fraction of the amount. Many items are empty and not filled during our 20 minutes there. Trash is overflowing. Staff is there, but chatting out on the floor. When we return 12 hours later, the tables are still sticky (with chairs stacked atop) and the trash still overflows. Less food, more stickiness the next day. Everyone around us is complaining: eggs are empty; juice is gone; waffle batter is out; no tea; empty fruit bowl; there's nothing to toast! 38 hours after checking in, we leave. There are people in the lobby complaining about their visit, all with similar experiences. Now, checking reviews on Yelp, I see many of the same problems listed here and extending back for months. This is not a one off bad weekend: get it together, Hampton Inn Colchester. Oh, and if anyone is wondering: we never saw any cookies either night. read more

I enjoyed my time here! I was offered a complimentary nights stay here to interview at a school very nearby (it was paid for by the school in question). The main lobby is on the 3rd floor (it's on an incline). It's beautifully furnished with a cabin-like vibe. I've stayed at other Hampton Inns and this place had one of the nicer breakfast areas. Cookies at 8:30 PM were delicious, even though they kinda seem like BJs cookies (again, that's not a bad thing). Friendly staff, and convenient location for my purposes. The only complaint I have was the bathroom door. I always expect something weird about Hampton Inn bathrooms, but it's usually the bathtubs that are the issue. Here, it was the door...or lack thereof. It's a sliding door that slides to cover either the bathroom or the closet next to it. It doesn't lock or anything, so anyone in the room could slide it open, which is kinda....really stupid. So I'm gonna dock a star for that one. read more

The front desk was friendly, room decent, the bed was comfy and sheets were soft, bathroom clean but not totally clean. It seems like most hotel rooms even Otherwise it's kind of an eh hotel. Kind of old property lots of stained carpets slow elevators, breakfast tried hard but was C level. One family gave up waiting and walked for floors with all their suitcases. If you're spending time in Burlington it's slightly far drive would rather stay closer next time. Parking was overly full. I guess it was decent for the price but I kind of wish I'd stayed at the Holiday Inn express or Doubletree. read more

I have been staying here off an on for work for about nine years. This review is from the lens of a work traveler that needs easy access and convenience. They renovated the hotel a couple of years ago, and it gave an already nice hotel a good facelift and refresh. Close to the highway, across the street from a Shaw's, great if you are hopping between work commitments and some personal time. They have all of the great things Hamptons always have - friendly check in, breakfast, wifi, good smelling clean bed, etc. I have found the staff here to be some of the friendliest and accommodating I have come to find in the Hampton chains. I ran into an issue last spring that I had to leave in the middle of my stay and come back. They were extremely helpful and gave me more than I expected. For that, I am forever grateful, and will continue to make this my main hotel when I come to Vermont for work. read more

Our room had no toilet paper. And even after asking the front desk for it Saturday morning by the time we got back at 4:30pm we still had no toilet paper. Had to ask the front desk AGAIN. Pool is under maintenance, emptied of water. No warning of this. Pillows are extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast is terrible - waffle mix dispenser empty. Waited 15min and still not taken care of. No breakfast meat, just eggs. We'll be finding somewhere to eat out for breakfast tomorrow. Will never stay here again! read more
