    Metal piece sticking out

My mother and I stayed here on Nov 6,2024. The minute we walked through the front door it smelt musty. We continued to check in and head to our room which was on the 3rd floor. The hallway to our room smelt of marijuana. When entered our room which was absolutely disgusting! Floor was dirty, bathroom door didn't shut all the way, toilet knob was busted, a metal piece in the wall was sticking out and completely covered in dust! The toilet was so low to the ground and toilet paper roll was behind you! The whole place needs renovation or condemned!!!!

This hotel is clean and updated. The rooms have Multiple outlets and USB ports for charging. There is free WiFi. The breakfast was typical of a hampton. When we were there one of waffle machines was broken and no water at breakfast. The water dispenser on juice machine was broken. We requested bottled water from front desk. The staff at breakfast was not friendly. The front desk staff was very friendly. They have flavored water in lobby. There are no afternoon cookies at this hampton. Management recently did away with that. You enter this hotel on the third floor. We were lucky to have a room on that floor. One of the elevators was broken during our stay. We never had an issue finding a parking spot. The location is right off the interstate. You can be in downtown Burlington in less than 15 minutes. The hotel is across from a CVS. There is a grocery store across the street.

Paid with points. Still got charged on credit card $284.90

Run, don't walk away from the Hampton Inn Colchester. Dishonest Overbilling Scheme I should have listened to the other terrible reviews about this location. They are dishonest, unethical, and non-responsive. I made a reservation and paid for it in points. (see image attached). Arrived very late and they said their "system was down" but gave me a room key and said all was good. The hotel was just "ok". Two weeks later a credit card charge from the on my account for $284.90. I have called them no less than 20 times and the "manager" is never available. I finally reached him after pretending to call about something else and he said he would "have to contact the points people". I never heard back from him and was never able to get him on the telephone again. Absolutely despicable and dishonest business to deal with. Naturally I was able to file a dispute with my credit card company, But that is time consuming, as I had to send them receipted documentation and fill out the claim forms, etc. I should not have had to do all that. I caught the hotel in their overbilling swindle/scam and they should have owned up to it and "made it right". I wonder how many other people have never caught this on their credit card billings ? I also filed a complaint with Hilton corporate, however from the sound of it, all they do is forward to the hotel. I never heard back from them.

    Mold around window

Kind, hard-working staff. However, this hotel is run down and not clean. There are never enough hotel rooms in the Burlington area. But do not stay here, it needs a major facelift. We stayed over Presidents Day weekend 2023.

First time at this hotel and it was nice and convenient. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Wifi worked just fine. Breakfast was what you would expect so if you like the typical stuff offered, then you will be fine. I do love waffles and they have waffles! Coffee station was great, too. Overall nice hotel, nice indoor pool, big lobby etc. There is a restaurant in the parking lot called the Lighthouse and it was decent and of course, convenient. I only have two suggestions for the hotel staff - clean the lighted ceiling in the elevator ... and I wish the towels provided at the pool were bigger. They are sooooo small! Bed was very comfortable. I got lost in all the pillows.

Check-in was seamless & very personable - I rang a bell in the lobby & someone (Paige, I think?) appeared in seconds. My room was ready before their stated 4 PM check-in time, so I was allowed to settle in early. I stayed in the Half Pigeon room (all of the rooms are named & have very different vibes) which was very black & white & abstract. The common areas are designed to perfection. The solarium?! Maybe my favorite room I've ever stepped into in the entire universe. There are multiple fireplaces throughout the first floor. There is a small fridge for guest-use in the bar area, as well as an ice freezer. Snacks in a snack cabinet up for grabs. Breakfast was incredible. A full spread of fruits, yogurt, housemade bread (& gluten-free bread by request), flourless quiche bites, & more. Delicious, fresh-brewed coffee & all sorts of milks to choose from. On day two, they did breakfast to-order rather than a buffet. I assume to reduce food waste. I filled out a card with my desired breakfast order & what time I'd like to eat. It appeared on a tray in the dining room exactly when I requested. This hotel is SO worth the little splurge. I'm already daydreaming about planning a trip back to Burlington to stay here again. I'll pick a different room next time to experience something new. Thank you to the Blind Tiger team for creating such a beautiful, welcoming space. I didn't know hotels could feel like this!

There are a few rooms on the main level, including a sun-drenched living room where you can read a book, play games, or visit with those you love. The food and beverage are one step ahead of you with a station for tea, another area with snacks and fresh baked cookies, a coffee bar, and sparkling and fresh water on tap. I love having sparkling water on tap! The vibe is welcoming. The continental breakfast is phenomenal with really beautiful Vermont products and keeps it light with fresh breads and fruits. Try the granola. The staff are beyond amazing and really made our experience incredible! They are available and help to meet any requests. They also know a ton about Burlington so really great resource. The staff are friendly and kind. I ordered a cheese board ahead of time and really recommend it because the presentation is beautiful and a great treat to have. I stayed here with my 11 year old son and felt like it was a great choice for us. (I think it's not a hotel for really young kids, also most rooms you access by stairs so something to consider.) We stayed in the room called "Mini Bar." WOW what an incredible room. It's a king suite with a separate living room and huge king bedroom. The living room has a lovely small fireplace. The bathroom is tiny and tucked away, with steps between it and the bedroom, but that's some of the character of a building built in the 1800's. I think they did a phenomenal job updating parts of the inn to make it functional and modern, while keeping with the original charm. Full disclosure, it's an old inn so you might hear other guests as with most bed and breakfasts. If you are sound sensitive it might not be your spot. We found it incredibly relaxing and just an amazing experience. I'm already planning my next trip back!

The mandatory resort fee made sense for all the items available. They also had tickets to ECHO which was a really cool science museum. Buffalo dip was amazing. It was exactly what we needed after traveling so long to get there. I think they do this every Wednesday evening. Free and convenient parking!! Huge plus. Situated within walking distance to a CVS and short drive to Target and Starbucks. Another plus. After getting into our room and walking around for a while, we found glass all over the floors. I have a three year old, so this was extremely concerning to me. I told the manager and they did have someone come up and vacuum it in a timely manner and they did do a good job however this could've been much worse for us. We were there for 4 nights and I only asked one time for towels (we never asked for housekeeping service) and towels were never brought up to our room. I didn't bother calling back, but I did go to the front desk and tell them when I checked out. I forgot to mention that I had to change the sheets on the bed because I found black hairs everywhere. Someone is dropping the ball here (I'm guessing housekeeping) Pool was well-kept. I enjoyed the hot tub and the views of the trees outside. Relaxing!! Overall, I'd recommend this hotel. I do think it was extremely expensive and housekeeping should've been better, however we did come during the fall season and I'm assuming this is an expensive and busy time to come.
