Lovely spot with new tables, booths, chairs and bar. Americana Eatery (not Americana Mall) had only been open for 2 weeks and I think it's experiencing growing pains. Hopefully they take constructive criticism. The waffles my table mates and I ordered were quite doughy and thick, as opposed to airy or with a little crunch. Perhaps tinker with the recipe? I ordered mine with "banana berry and cream." The banana chunks should have been cut into smaller slices, the strawberries should have been served without green top stems and the dollop of whipped cream should have been bigger. Also, I think only 3/4 of the waffle is served. What happened to the final quarter that makes a complete waffle circle? We wanted to split the bill it into 3 separate tabs, but for some reason, the less-than-friendly waiter couldn't figure it out. Should be easy with their POS-type system. read more

Recently opened, nice-clean decor. I visited for a late lunch but too early for dinner. Interesting, the staff was converting the diner into a restaurant: glasses, napkins, china ... for the dinner crowd. The food was very good, creative menu. Service was good as well, our waiter great, experienced. I recommend this establishment, I will visit again for dinner . I'm not sure if this was the most elegant diner I have ever seen, or a restaurant that happens to serve breakfast all day. Beautifully designed, good (but rather impersonal) service, and good food. Came here for my husband's birthday. He wanted something casual and just a good burger. He got one! Though I think he might've gotten steak I can't remember lol. I did enjoy a good burger! We also of course enjoyed the telephone booth and my son loved it. We took tons of pictures and it was a good time. Service was great and ambiance is great. I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. The decor was beautiful, and the atmosphere was great. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. However, the food was subpar. My wife ordered a hamburger with onion rings. The patty was as thin as one you would find at your neighborhood McDonald's, and the onion rings were greasy with very little onion inside them. The best part of her meal was the brioche bun, which was exceptional. She also had split pea soup, which was a little underseasoned but still okay. As for my meal, I made the unfortunate mistake of ordering what they called "Wagyu pastrami." Wagyu pastrami is usually very tender and flavorful, but this was hard, dry, and lacked taste. The meat was cut into small triangles, and I have never had a pastrami sandwich like this before. Being a big fan of pastrami--having enjoyed some of the best at Katz's in Manhattan--I was extremely disappointed. I only took two bites. On a positive note, the french fries were good, and the tomato orzo soup was also enjoyable; that was the highlight of the meal. When the waiter came over and asked if I would like to take my food to go, I explained that it was terrible and that I didn't want it. He felt bad and returned with a rice pudding that he claimed was made that same morning. Unfortunately, the rice in the pudding was hard and barely cooked. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the experience and will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more

I ordered through Uber Eats. They had a buy one get one free on a soup & sandwich combo and we only received one of each item. I complained to Uber Eats and they gave me a credit for $5, not 1/2 the cost of the items. I also ordered a yogurt parfait which I saved for breakfast this morning and the yogurt was bad. UberEats refuses to acknowledge it saying they already gave me a credit. I have yet to hear from the restaurant. read more

Came here for breakfast on July 4th and the nice thing was that there were plenty of seats and decor is very nice (lots of wood and beige tones). However, after we were seated and given our waters, it took over 30 minutes to get someone to take our order. It seemed there was only one person taking orders and would disappear for long stretches into the kitchen. Menu was focused (Benedict, omelette, etc.). They have a juice menu which wasn't available. The food took another 30 minutes to come out. Surprising the staffing was so poor for a holiday. Food was decent and they seem to have potential, but wouldn't recommend coming here unless they better staff the place. read more

Since rebuilt way back, I decided to try their food. Nicely decorated and well staffed. Only a few patrons at 11am today. Sat down with wife and ordered coffee and tea. Waited 15 minutes before hot water showed up with a half cup of water! I asked about my coffee and that took another 10 minutes! The menu is small so I ordered the lox and cream cheese platter with a side order of Greek sausage. The platter was delicious! However no sausage. Inquire and was told they ran out. I said ok, give me regular sausage never got it! Wife ordered an omelette but what she ordered and what came were totally different! She had to wait for a new omelette! Visited this restaurant today for brunch. The food and service and ambience was wonderful. A breath of fresh air from the previous site. I built my own delicious omelette with goat cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes. It came along with some delicious toasted sourdough bread and salad greens on the side. This place is definitely a must go to! The owner, Stephanos, pleasantly greeted me and this segued into me having a wonderful waiter named Armando. I left very content and satisfied. read more

First time here. Very good waiter (first week on the job), tasty food. My wife's 3 raspberry pancakes were quite delicious-- and big. I had a bowl of white bean & kale soup (vegetarian) that was delicious along with a scrumptious tuna salad on rye-- also big and delicious. My wife also had a latte. Maybe a bit pricey for brunch-- there was also a 3% "service charge" added to the bill without any notice, $48 total including tax. Very nice ambience. Big step up from its prior life as the Seven Seas diner. Will check it out again soon for dinner. read more

Absolutely delighted by this brand new space on this iconic corner of Northern Blvd. Work nearby and had to stop in for lunch, very impressed the ambience is modern, simple, evoking Mediterranean vibes. The staff is full on attentive. The service was A +, the cappuccino was done right and the various plates ordered were tasty that we cleared off our plates clean. The breakfast options + pancakes were so delicious I went back with a friend today just for that. Definitely making this my go to-place! This was the third timely wife and have eaten here and I have to say, it got better each time. The first time we ate here was when it first opened, and it had to work out some kinks in the service and management. But the food was very good, so we came back. The service had much improved and the front of house was quickly attentive and warmly welcoming. This is one of the few places thatI have found that serves "The Impossible Burger". It is a plant based burger that is truly delicious. I have also had the Flatbread Pizza, which was very tasty. The atmosphere is convivial, the food is good, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable, what more could you want? We will be returning here as it is now another fine restaurant in our town of Great Neck. read more

The ambience of Americana is pretty and bright, with plenty of room at and around each table. Went the other night to try this diner for the first. I ordered a Hamburger meal for dinner . For a new diner this is always my "test" meal. It arrived to my exact specifications. . My meal was delicious! The restaurant was beautiful and very comfortable. I was greeted at the door and seated. I felt like a customer from the moment that I arrived until I left. We tried this eatery yesterday , it was a disappointment. It appears to be trying to be a diner but its menu choices are far fewer than any diner. We ordered one forest mushroom omelet and one order of apple pancakes, both from the lunch menu. The omelet was very undercooked and mushy. The pancakes were pretty good , but were not my view of apple cinnamon pancakes. The only Apple cinnamon and raisin were atop the pancakes, seemingly from a can of apple pie filling. The service was impeccable and the place was nicely redone but we will not be back. We much preferred the Seven Seas Diner that used to be there. read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood! We visited on Saturday for brunch and had a delicious meal - true quality food. We started with a tasty cup of coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, ORGANIC eggs benedict which came with sour dough bread mixed greens and freshly sliced home fries. We couldn't resist and ordered the cannoli pancakes - what a treat! I am so happy we have a place where we can go anytime in the day and get a quality meal. The menu has a variety of options. My friends and I had attempted to have dinner here twice during the summer but the A/C was malfunctioning both times. We decided to give it another shot being the temps have cooled. As others have written below, the Americana Eatery & Bar seems to be suffering from and identity crisis. To be or not to be a diner, that is the question. IMO, you ARE a DINER. Be proud of it and attempt to compete with The Great Neck Diner. Instead my friends and I arrived to a severely abbreviated diner menu. That's right. The breakfast and lunch Diner menu is buried away each day as the sun goes down and these folks try to do an impersonation of an upscale restaurant. It didn't work for us. We'd already sat down when we discovered the dinner menu is not the daily diner menu! Anyhow, I was in the mood for a diner dinner and ordered the $20 Turkey sandwich which I swear looked and tasted like Turkey Roll processed Turkey breast. The rest of us were not really impressed by what we ordered. The waiter wasn't bad though not very friendly, but we didn't come here to make friends we came to have a good old diner style dinner. It wasn't and apparently the owners are embarrassed to be referred to as such. You've got to be proud of who you are, and if you want to be successful you've got to come to terms that the majority of people who come here expect to see a new Seven Seas Diner. At least I did.
