Drove less then couple hundred mile and started hearing a clunk underneath and vibration and smelling transmission fluid. Took it to a local shop as I live 90 plus miles away from a +. The local shop found the issue as soon as they looked. They found a motor mount bolt missing. They advised they only way it was missing was because it was not tightened properly causing it to back out. The caused the motor and transmission to vibrate and crack the housing on the new transmission I had them install. When I called A+ i spoke to a lady that from what I understand is the owner. I asked her if they were going to pay to have the car towed to them as it was their poor work that caused the issue. The tow quote I got was $1000. She told me no they don't pay for tows. I explained it was due to an error on their part that caused the issue. She argued they didn't do anything wrong. I told her the bolt to the motor mount is gone and they don't just back out if tightened correctly. She said something stupid like "things happen, my car should have started this morning, but it didn't". I then asked if they were going to cover the cracked transmission case their poor workmanship caused. She told me no we don't cover customer supplied parts. I told her yes but it your poor workmanship that cause the issue ruining a new transmission, All she did was repeat "they don't cover customer supplied parts. All she did say was bring it in and they would put the motor mount bolt. I asked why I would pay $1000 dollars to have it towed to them to put a bolt in when the shop where it was at could do that. The bigger issue was their poor work cracking the case on the transmission. In the end she told me to stop calling as she wasn't going to deal with it anymore. Wow, your crappy work, ruin a new transmission and do nothing. This has worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Stay away from this place or hope they don't mess up your vehicle. If I could, I would have given zero stars

My experience with American transmission: Back in March 2014 we dropped of a transmission with…read moreDuane in June of 2014 I was told the work was completed and to come pay it off so I could come pick it up I paid him $2500.00 and have documentation to prove it. When we went to pick it up we were told he was having problems with it shifting smooth (it shifted fine when I dropped it off it just had a chip in 5th and 3rd gears so we wanted it fixed) he then told us he sent it to Portland but would never tell us what shop. So here I sit today out $2500.00 cash and a NV5600 transmission for a full size dodge truck valued at $4700.00 and all I can sue for in small claims is $5000.00, we have months worth of excuses and text messages.

I didn't trust that it would turn out any other way because Duane Todd is a coward, so I paid $40.00 to have the Sheriff's department serve him. Well, it came back as well "unable to serve"! I'm left with having him personally served by someone he doesn't see coming. This is a testament to the kind of shady character you'll find at American Transmission in Longview, WA. He told me over the phone, that it would take months to get my money back, as if he knew all too well how to take advantage of customers. It seems he is also being sued by another former customer now too. I even heard that last week a customer came over the counter after him after his silver Dodge pickup had been there for three weeks! With any luck and the cooperation of the right people, we can put him out of business for good.

With…read morethe next day being Valentine's Day, my husband and I drove my car around town and my car started smelling like hot oil. We pulled off the side of the road, this had nothing to do with my small under oil leak recently found. I lifted up my car hood and there was NO OIL CAP. They Failed to do SIMPLE QUALITY CONTROL on a oil change!!! Do we had dinner plans to go to Portland for dinner, if I would have drove my car and that far it would have thrown a rod in my motor!!!! They made it right, but we lost out on Valentine's Day Dinner!! We could have totally thrown a rod in the motor and my car would have required a $6000+ motor replacement just not taking QC inspection on a simple F@cking oil change! They towed my car to the shop, offered a rental car, did a complete new oil change and had to buy me a new oil cap. QUALITY CONTROL, if you want my business. You almost costed me my car motor over a simple F@CKING OIL CHANGE!!! I am still , but at least they fixed it, but it shouldn't have been that stupid mistake in the first place!!!! Quality Control PEOPLE! I don't have money to replace a motor, that is why I was doing preventative maintenance. Your other business Esty's, which is owned by the same owner has been great, but you need to step it back up ARTs!!!!
