This was the worst experience i've ever had with the tow company. When the tow truck driver arrived , he was in a terrible mood. He barked at me instead of asking me questions. While we were driving he was texting. It made me extremely uncomfortable. He took a phone call as well. I asked him to stop texting and he got mad and I was really scared. It felt like he had been a bully his whole life. I will never use this service again. I have pictures and video proving that he was driving while he was texting with my car dangling on the back and me in the passenger seat! I would never recommend this company to anyone! read more

So, I got locked out of my car, and my AAA membership expired, the officer with the police dept who is in charge of lock-outs was off duty, so I was stuck. My purse, work ID badge and other necessities were in there. I posted a cry for help on a community page on Facebook. I was sent an IM from the amazing and sweet Pamela telling me they would be out to help me and they would work with me on the price. I was elated -- I'm writing this first paragraph as I'm waiting for the truck. They showed up and were fast, efficient and friendly. I was so impressed at the speed and ease with which they popped the lock and didn't even make fun of me when my keys weren't in the car. I want to give one caveat -- they are totally willing to work with you if you are unable to pay at the moment. But, know you may have to wait a bit for the truck to show up, but know they are taking care of other customers and definitely get to you. I was so grateful for their help. These guys have such an amazing sense of community, caring and are just awesome. Give them a call if you need a tow, unlock or any of their other services. I've heard some scary things about tow companies and this was my first experience with one firsthand. My car was stolen in Seattle and impounded from private property in Everett. The Seattle PD took my phone number wrong when I filed my report and so I wasn't contacted right away when my car was found, after 7 days I got a snail mail notice and by then I was facing almost $1000 in tow fees. I was really bummed out and frustrated because there is no law that protects consumers from these specific type of situations but it was the police departments fault, not the tow company. American Tow company was so unbelievably flexible and nice, they went above and beyond my expectations as far as helping me with the logistics of the whole process and dealing with the police department to help me with some of my charges. I still had to take responsibility for some charges but that's just life and nothing is free...even if your car got stolen haha. Long story short...not all tow companies are out to dick you over. They're all in business and need to pay their bills too, but if you're nice and patient, they just might be willing to work with you a little more. Thank you John and Pam at American Towing!! Last night after their firework show on lake Goodwin in the middle of no where a friend of ours decided to drink alcohol and was in able to drive . so we called american towing and they said they were on their way. Not only did they get to the location very quickly they brought another vehicle with them behind the tow truck to take my friends home in. They charged not one penny for the services and were genuinely caring and concerned about my friends. They were not judgemental and kept a smile on thru it all. Businesses are made to make money and usually stick to that motto but not this company they put people first . who knows how many lives they probly saved with their kind hearts. These folks were wonderful. My son's car was recently stolen and found without tires and wheels. American handled the car with kid gloves. It was amazing to watch them get the car on and off the flatbed without wheels. The tow truck driver had MAD SKILLS! We spent the weekend getting new tires and wheels. American offered to mount them for a great price. When the tires we bought didn't fit, they were kind enough to load it back up and tow it to Les Schwab for us. We showed up to collect a vehicle that was impounded. We entered the yard through an unlocked gate.We were verbally assaulted by several of their employees. They would not release our vehicle even though we were there and had the money to get it out. We had to get the local police involved in the situation. We had to wait several days to pick up the vehicle. These folks are extremely unprofessional angry and disrespectful. I would not recommend using this company for ANYTHING!!!! read more

Thank Goodness for American Towing! It's 5:00AM on a Monday morning, I'm on my way to run my hectic errands before work; and my vehicle throws a rod!!! Oh ya, let me add that my breakdown happened in a constuction zone with heavy traffic, no shoulder, and too much noise... Happy Monday right...? :) As upset as I was about what an inconvenience this would turn into....I remembered how smoothly my last expience went with American Towing and felt immediately at ease. NO other emergency roadside service company has ever made it easier for me...so, already I was feeling better! (Might I add, I have been a AAA member for years, and nothing against them, but the tow companies they have "recommeded" to me in years past do not even come close to American Towing) Anyhow, I called American Towing's dispatch office and was pleasantly surprised how quickly my phone call was answered. The other phone lines seemed to be relentless in the background, but the dispatcher stayed attentive and calm to take my call. His initial concern was my sanity and safety! He reassured me that we would get thru this! We went thru the details of the breakdown and the location of the vehicle. I didn't have EXACTS, but that didn't stop the process of my claim. The dispatcher walked thru landmarks and points of interest to get the best determination of where the vehicle was located. The billing and payment info was the last information we discussed. As soon as I indicated I was a State Farm customer, they indicated they would be there in a flash to handle and would bill my insurance carrier direct! That meant no out of pocket cost for me! The dispatcher called me on my cell phone to again reassure me that he was on his way and kept me posted on his ETA. He was there within 20 minutes of my intial call! What a relief! American Towing safely got my vehicle back to my house, and perfectly parked it in my garage as requested! The driver for my loss just so happened to be the owner of the company!!!! Obviously he takes extreme pride in his business, and is willing to work hard too! He greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel like this loss wasn't the catastrophe I made it out to be! I offered coffee...and he graciously denied and indicated he had to get on his way but hoped he would see me again sometime if I was in need! What I thought was going to be an awful day turned into an excellent expierence! I will DEFINATELY call American Towing in the future and would recommend them to anyone and everyone! This tow company responded to an accident My Mom had. There were 2 of his tow trucks at the scene. The guy that was in charge was "so helpful" in telling me how he was here to help us and how we would save money by having her car towed to their yard in Everett etc etc. In that moment I told him ok - take the car there. I was then advised another person who has worked for a towing company to NOT do that as it would get very expensive very fast. I was putting in a call to my Moms insurance company and told the young man that was going to drive the truck with her car on it to not take it to the Everett yard. He said he needed to have his boss come back. The boss came back and I told him I was on hold with the insurance co. waiting for them to tell me where to have the vehicle towed. He then told me he couldn't legally talk to me - he had to talk to my Mother. (Keep in mind, he had no problem talking to me earlier.) He wanted to talk to my Mom and get her to change the directive of where the car was going. In the end, we had the vehicle taken to the collision repair shop of our choice and insurance approval, but wound up paying a fee of $850.00. There is much more to this story but these are the highlights. If you decide to work with this company - do not believe "he is just there to take care of you". He's looking at his bottom line. Oh and don't disagree with him or you will be told he's sick of your attitude. Once your car is on his truck - he owns you: We were also told when the vehicle got to the location we chose, if we were not there within 10 minutes to pay the bill they would not drop the vehicle, but leave and take it to their Everett yard. read more
