I am a newcomer to the Viera community in Melbourne. As I was looking for pool developer options for my new home, I was fortunate to meet Susan from Customer Service @ American Pools & Spas. Susan was just awesome! She was very kind, resourceful and polite. She went over all my questions and provided all the information I needed in preparation for a Pool proposal. Just want to point out that I appreciate her and American Pools for having her... Thank you so much, looking forward to work with you. Archer Lebron read more

BUYER BE WARE!!!!! The owner an I had a in store conversation that led to him giving me a price and taking a 500 dollar deposit. A year later when the pool is ready for pick up he adds $800 to our agreed upon amount. The Greed is alive at American Pools and Spas. Not a place of fair business, and after years or loyal support and continued purchases you think the owner MIKE wouldn't do such a thing. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I wish I had come to this site and read the review. I would gave taken my business elsewhere. I purchased a liner from this guy. told them it was a oval pool above ground.. and more importantly that I had purchased there. they gave me a liner, took it home , open the box, started to unfolded it. and noticed that it did NOT have the beads it needs to hang on the pool walls. perfect condition, not fully open, I put it on the box to return it. when I call them, he was like you ordered the wrong one and did not tell us the pool i semi inground. thus, he cannot take it back the new liner I had purchased 18 hours earlier.. Bu they were pushy offering me to order the correct one. (of course, so that they can take their cut) they gave me the price twice, were nice to add the taxes so I would know how much I will have to pay. and the clearly the attitude was too bad, for us. this store does not deserve 1 stars. I will take my future business elsewhere. sad to see a family business operate that way. I just keep present that was goes around comes around. BUYERS be very aware read more

We have had nothing but great service from these guys . 2 weeks after our install , a tree fell through the pool and destroyed everything. They did everything in their power to get us another pool , installed and filled ASAP . Highly recommended by me personally . read more

Thieves and liars!!! October 2021 I gave them a $2000 deposit to have a pool installed in 2023. I was told if I cancel I would receive a store credit. I had to cancel February 2022---over 1 year notice. I was told they have a no refund policy and received absolutely nothing. I gave them plenty of time notice that they didn't lose any money. They gave me no service and took my money. They're not a good company for a pool. Beware using them. read more

Owner mike is not a man of his word. That might have some play into the 2.5 star family business he runs. He is a coward and a liar. Deposit paid a year before receiving pool. Decides he'll charge an extra 800 at pick up? Disrespects my mother. Mike makes "family businesses" get a horrible wrap with his dishonesty, choice of words, and attitude. Todays visit ended with mike the owner jumping up from his seat wanting to have a screaming match across the store as he bangs into and on nearby surrounding pools rails. Do better mike. Hope anyone buying a pool decides to go else where because this is truly not the type of business you want to support. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is not a place you want to bring your business. Long story short last year we ordered a pool and put down a 500 dollar deposit, this was all directly us dealing with the owner Mike. He proceeds to charge us an extra 800 months later and did not honor his written quote/conversions. We have been loyal customers for years..... never again do better Mike, maybe you'll bring your 2.5 star rating up you POS!!!! read more

We bought a pool here last summer and all was well the first season. Now here we are in the second season and the pump stopped working. It would turn on and hum, but wouldn't push water through. After checking the manual it said to find a certified technician to fix it, so we called American to get a recommendation. The owner of the store answered the phone and my husband explained (or at least tried to) the situation. The owner, Mike, kept cutting him off and kept saying "you just need to buy a new pump for $250" He just kept cutting off my husband and saying this. He wasn't interested in helping us at all, just wanted to make a buck. I was also warned about buying a pool here because of the terrible customer service...i should have listened. Thankfully YouTube exists and we were able to fix the filter ourselves with a coat hanger. read more

Be aware that American Pools only sells pools. They will help set you up with contractors to install your pool, but AP never will come to your house first to see if your site will work. They will not come at any time during the construction or afterward to see how things are going. You are on your own if you have issues with the contractors. They don't include all costs such as electrical or water. That's on you. When my inground pool was backfilled, the contractor knocked rocks and dirt in the pool. AP and the contractor refused to clean the pool and turned over to me a brand-new pool filled with rocks and dirt. Took me a month to get the pool clean. The contractors tore up my yard with a variety of trucks, sinking in as much as 6 inches over 400 feet and AP and the contractors refused to return grade or do anything to fix the ruts. They do not come back to close your pool up even if they finish installing the pool late in the year. Save yourself frustration and headaches and go with someone else! Look for someone who does it all. read more

Buyer beware For chemical parts and water testing a great place to go to. but as far as buying a pool (buyer beware) purchase a 15' above ground pool 13 years ago second best above ground pool made at the time. it was a 2 + 28 year warranty and installed by their recommended contractors at the time my wife and I were told when we purchased the pool that everything would be covered up to 15 years no questions asked materials will be shipped directly to the house from manufacturer and then prorated after that .well we ran into a rust issue return to store with my warranty that they never even looked at so that's possibly a useless item. to find out that it is now prorated not 100% replaced as told by salesman at time of purchase. so when purchasing a pool if you choose to. make sure you get everything in a writing word for word for I know a little bit about warranties been in business for 37 years myself. I deal with customers everyday. and as I learned Stan good for your word and your products it's not all about just making a sale. read more

Customer service is just awful. If you are not buying a pool they are horrible to you. The guys who test the water are always ok. I have the most issues with the guys that sit in the desks along the wall. They treat you like idiots when you ask a question. I try to support local and small business, but I have been treated like crap too many times. Now I go a bit further down the road to Leslie, national business, but much better customer service and they answer your questions and inquiries like one civil human being to another. read more

After purchasing a dolphin robotic pool cleaner Saturday morning I immediately went home to try it. After running it through 2 cycles my pool was as dirty as before. On Sunday morning I immediately returned to American pool and spa to return the item. I was informed that all sales are final and that they would not return my money. This is bad business and would never do business with them again. read more

I'm not sure what all the reviews about outsourcing is about, I just purchased a pool this year and I was sent a list of possible contractors. I got to choose my own installer and the excel sheet was very clear about what the install covers. Backfill and haul away are extra. The price they gave me was confirmed by the installer I hired. The pool plus installation was less expensive than another quote I received for a similar pool. I'm very happy with their service. read more

The only place to shop for pools and supplies. Always have what I need...IN STOCK...and very knowledgeable, always someone around to help when needed! Thanx guys read more

I've ordered about 5 hot tubs and 2 pools from Mike who's the owner. Since no one let me know that a hot tub has to be winterized even if it's never filled up with water while sitting during the winter time, I was tough discussing with Mike who was instantly on guard and not willing to take any responsibility. so when something went wrong and I spoke to Mike again about the issue, he treated me as if I was a liar, he was extremely rude and told me that I had an attitude. When I told him I didn't appreciate this and that I could take my business elsewhere even though I was about to order about 5 more tubs, he said yea whatever and hung up the phone. My property manager noticed the unprofessionalism at American pools when she dealt with them so passed it on to me but never did I expect it was this bad, let alone from the owner himself but I guess it stems from the top. As a business professional in the area who deals with investors from New York city coming to invest in the Poconos, these clients would absolutely never tolerate this type of behavior so I wouldn't be surprised if this place is struggling due to their lack of respect for their clients. Highly UN-RECOMMENDED. Disturbing behaviour from the owner and associates. read more

Horrible!! It took close to 10 weeks for our pool to be finished. Beani takes your money and contracts everyone out. You never see or hear from Mike or his kid again. When issues arise, you can't get anyone on the phone. Crappy way to do business! No wonder they filed bankruptcy so many times. My neighbor had a pool put in during the same time, 2 weeks total and it was complete. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEY! read more

Once again, AP&S to the rescue. They found a part to a 22 year old hot-tub, allowing us to keep it running. Amazing!

If you buy a pool from American Pools in Whitehall, stay far away from installer Jayme Mcneish. Absolutely horrible customer service from this guy. We should have known from the first day when he was suppose to be at the house at 5pm to look at the project and didn't show up until 8pm! Started the install on a Thursday at 9am, paid in full on Ftiday at 1pm, and didn't finish until the following Wednesday!!!!!! Never on time when he gave us a time he would be here, told us he would be here Saturday, never showed or called, finally called Sunday and said he forgot it was his dad's birthday and he wouldn't be over to finish, was suppose to come back Monday, no call no show, finally comes Tuesday. Over all these days he also had to go through 3 pool pumps because everyone he got leaked water out the side!!! I one point he wanted to take apart the NEW pump and try to seal the gasket so it wouldn't leak!!!!!!!! After I exploded on him he finally got an upgraded pump!!! And let's not forget the piece he broke on the pool deck ladder that he never replaced!!!!!! I wouldn't have this guy install a dog house. Unrealible, not trustworthy, never on time and just a huge bullshitter. He will tell you how good he is and what a perfectionist he is but do not fall for his crap and just go with someone else for your install. I almost forgot, the last pump he replaced he took all the fittings with him and when the electrician came back to hook it up to code, he didn't have the parts. I call Jayme to have him call Rick to talk to him cause he was at the house waiting but he NEVER called him!!!!!!!!! Not surprised! There are many other places to buy a pool from. Once this place has your money they don't give a crap about you. Mike the owner is great until you pay him. After that he could care less what problem you have. Stay away from this place On a good note, Rick the electrician was fantastic!!!!!!! read more

We just purchased a Riviera Hybrid semi-inground pool from American. We had them place our pool into a hillside on our property, underground. We love it! Mike was fantastic and our installer (also named Mike) was great. Bill came out to check our install once the pool install was complete and show us how to work everything and he was great. I only experienced a few negatives; 1-I was lead to believe when Mike sold me the pool that it would take 1 day to install. Not true. The pool took 3 weeks to install, from the time it was delivered to our home, to the time we could swim in it. Granted some of that was due to the weather, but it also had to do with Mike our installer being over scheduled (my opinion). But Mike kept communication open, he was easy to get in touch with and in the end we have a great pool. 2-Owner Mike ordered us the correct liner, but the manufacturer sent us the wrong liner. Mike corrected the situation by giving us $$ off the liner. So I would recommend American Pool. They have a great store, great pool supplies and Bill the water guy is very helpful. We are hoping to win a free hot tub with the contest they are running right now! Lol, Mike I will be in touch! Thanks again:). Becky A. read more

We drove from Reading, PA, it was worth the trip! Jason was awesome. He took the time to explain all our options, didn't oversell us and didn't offer low grade products. The entire transaction was very smooth. We highly recommend American Pools. The entire staff was very customer service oriented. We purchased an 18' above ground pool. We used Lenny as our installer. He was very helpful, answered all our questions, showed up on time and made sure he installed the pool to our borough's requirements. Check out American Pools, you won't be sorry! read more

Great place to buy a pool! I purchased an in-ground pool and everything went great. Mike helped me a lot to fully understand the entire process and answered all of my questions. He was patient and very knowledgable. The install process went great and his crew was fantastic. I would recommend this place for pool purchase as well as water analysis. Thanks American!!! read more

I'm going to give them a 1 only because I can't give them a ZERO. They can sure "sell" a spa, but they do not stand behind if there's a problem. Last conversation with them, they told he to call the manufacture. I would never by even a pool float from these guys. I've learned my lesson. I was told the spa I bought was for a salt system. Turns out it is not and now I am having issues since the salt is corroding parts. read more

My family and I love to come here for different chemicals and other stuff for our pool. They always have what we want and when we want it.

Purchased a pool at the beginning of this summer, it was a rough year for everyone and they had delays in the shipment of the pools. No fault of theirs and we had our pool earlier than expected. I have no complaint with American pools. Now for the install STAY AWAY from installer Jamie (Jayme) McNeish, he took our deposit in July of 2020 for a September install. He constantly changed the install date with little to no communication and is difficult to get in contact with. After requesting my deposit back and scheduling another installer, I received a nasty text from his "employee/fiancé" Kristin, saying I would get my deposit when I get it. It is now February and they have blocked my number no response to texts or messages. Stay far away from them there are several other people I am hearing are going through the same thing. We ended up having David Wotring install our pool, he was great, quick and professional seems to be one of the best installers. read more

I cannot support this place or buy there anymore. They sold me the wrong pool cover after I specifically told the kid what I needed. Now I again am stuck with a cover that won't last very long because it's junk! When I called the manager all he said was "return it." I can't return it, it's on the pool, I closed the pool & while my pool guy was putting it on we realized it was the wrong cover. I do NOT recommend this place at all! I will not buy there again! read more
