I would HIGHLY recommend this place!! I had a Graduation party and was severely behind on planning. I called them 2 days before the party and they were able to accommodate me with no problem. Furthermore, I was extremely impressed with their prices. Many many other companies I called were price gauging due to the season of (Grad Parties). These people completely ghosted us on a rental order made in January. We confirmed via email at 8 am yesterday the day of our wedding reception that someone would be calling us between 2-4 with a 45 allocation for travel time for us to meet them. They never called or showed up and left our wedding reception party without two 10foot round tables and 24 chairs. This was to be the majority of seating and tables that my guest needs to eat on. So thanks for starting off our party we've planned for months out on a sour note! I will be telling everyone I know to stay away from these people as well as calling when they open tomorrow for a full refund. I can show my call history to prove they never attempted to call me. Despite the closing time noted on their website, they DO NOT accept returns within the last 15 minutes of being open. I learned this the hard way. I went to return 3 tables and 2 stacks of folding chairs on Saturday. This would've taken me all of 5 minutes to unload from my truck into their bay. I arrived at 2:53 PM, called to let them know I was in back and ready to unload, and they refused - despite being inside. They noted that their team to unload had left for the day. I told them I'd unload myself and accept all damage. They simply said no and to come back on Monday morning. I pleaded with the person but she was not budging. Note that I live 40 minutes away and agreed to be quick and accept any damage claims. I spoke with the manager, Val, today and she said that this is their policy. When challenged on why not keep the entire team there until 3 PM, she simply said "they have other stuff to do." I am not saying I couldn't have planned with more time in advance. I am not saying that I was 100% right in how I handled the call on Saturday. But I do expect a small dose of customer service. It seems that corporate red tape and loose closing time practices have taken their toll on this place. I'm hopeful that the company owners take note of this and make some changes. I used them for very the first event I planned a year and a half ago and will continue to use them for any rental needs going forward. If you need something that isn't listed on the website, just shoot them an email and they'll let you know if they can accommodate your request. After visiting their showroom for the first time recently, I highly recommend doing the same for weddings or important events that you want to be sure are perfect. Sometimes you gotta cool down 15 cases of beer. When that happens, I have to hit a rental store. So I got an ice chest here for $18, which i thought was on the high side. But they do rent a snow cone maker, sports games, a cotton candy machine for $50 which seems decent. They're pretty efficient and the ladies are nice. Why is this a three star? Well because their return policy is a total pain in the butt. You can have it for one day, return the next day. They're not open late and you get charged a full days fare for the rest of the days. After you've thrown a party for 300 people, getting the ice chest back tends to be low on the list. If there was an option to extend for a day for a lower price, it might be worth the fourth star. read more

Sara with APR was so helpful in planning our rental needs for a wedding with 150 guests! She suggested the right size cloths for the cocktail, dining and miscellaneous tables and offered things I hadn't thought of like clips to keep the cloths in place. They offer more options than most companies including misting fans for outdoor events. The delivery charge was very reasonable as was the total invoice. The drop off and pick up were easy and the delivery people were nice and professional. We couldn't be happier with APR, they helped make the wedding a tremendous success! Rented: 16 tables and 70 chairs. I ultimately went with this company because they offer (at least at the time) 50% back if you cancel a portion. Since we weren't sure if it was going to rain, we had reserved a tent, then cancelled the request because it was perfect sunny weather. The staff was extremely helpful and I appreciate being able to recoup some of that money. The two other companies I got quotes from didn't offer that. Delivery was challenging for their staff, as the venue (East Austin, Poquito St.) had neighbors' cars parked out front. They quickly unloaded and went on their way. They even offered to pickup the tables closer to the setup area, which was awesome. They were a little late on the pickup, but that probably wasn't their fault, I blame Austin, TX traffic. I would suggest getting the pickup drivers' phone number to communicate if there are any issues, or you want early pickup. Would definitely rent from them again, and certainly recommend them. I came here yesterday to rent a ticket hopper for our auction this weekend and asked the pricing and sizes for the various hoppers they rent. There was a woman named irene who continued to say they only have one and the one (after they said they have 3 sizes on the phone) on the floor was jumbo. She told me the dimensions and I mentioned twice that the one she was charging me for was not the dimensions or size of the jumbo. I paid $48 for the jumbo hopper which is double the amount for the medium. The other woman loaded up a hopper and coincidentally they found the jumbo hopper and the back and said the one I previously said I wanted was indeed the medium. I work in customer service and for two sales women to not help me with the accurate rental refuse to go measure the product and then after they charge me they were actually incorrect. Shows very poor customer service. I guess I should have walked over and measured it myself? It's just frustrating that the two women insisted it was the jumbo product and then loaded up the jumbo hopper that they found in the 'back'. I just felt overcharged and the Attitudes of the women who checked me out were very poor. We will be renting from an alternative rental company for all our event needs because I can't trust the service or accuracy of the products we are actually renting from this place. I gave 2 stars because after asking if they can help me load it in my car (I'm pregnant) one of the ladies did. Going over and beyond with customer service will go a long way and doing the bare minimum and renting the wrong products and charging the highest price on top of that, will make your customers go elsewhere. read more

I've used American Party Rental 3 times, but I won't use them again. I was lured in by their prices: to be sure, they were by far the cheapest rental for tables in town. First event was for a non-profit dinner. Guy showed up, threw the tables off the truck, and was on his way. We had 25 tops, 23 poles, and only 22 bases. When we called to request that they come back with the missing table limbs, they asked us to check around before they sent anyone back. Boo, customer service. I should have learned, but I hired them again last spring for a private event. This time? Ample bases and poles, but we were missing two tops. Lucky we had overbooked so it wasn't much of a problem. Still, I'm a cheapskate so I kept using them. But this year, they lost our reservation and offered to let us make a new one, but delivery was already full. Not wanting to drive and pick the darn things up, and realizing that god sometimes works in mysterious ways, I declined. But damn, $5 for 4 tops. Can't beat that. read more

This was the cheapest place I found for table rental, chair rental and delivery combined in North-Central Austin, and I called a bunch. Since budget was our No. 1 priority, I went with them. There were issues with their phone number and location changing, then their phone number changing back but not their location, but they were otherwise responsive (when they could be reached at all). Their new location is on Burnet at 183 -- they warned me in advance that they'd be moving but not that it would make them difficult to reach. Our stuff was delivered as promised between 8 and 1 on a Saturday, but pickup was scheduled between 8 and 1 on the following Monday, with an hour's notice via telephone, and they called 15 minutes before they arrived at 4:30. Luckily, no one has to be present for pickup as long as the stuff is left in the same place it was dropped off. Unluckily, you can't get them to do pickup in a different location if you have to move the stuff, unless you pay an additional fee, so keep that in mind if you're using things in several locations. We kind of had to hound them to confirm delivery and the second half of our payment. Oh, well. read more

Rented a tent here for our wedding. We called 5 places and some were totally back-ass-wards. This place was not. We rented a 40 x 60 tent and then realized a week later that it wouldn't fit in the space (after carefuly measurements at the venue). We called later and changed our order and got two different tents that were smaller and cheaper and they didn't penalize us for the first reservation. Awesome. This, all in a week, when vendors were telling us that people were scrambling for tents so badly on this date that they had to pay someone to drive from Dallas with tent for their event!!! They showed up very early in their time window and set up the tent correctly. They also showed up promptly in the evening collect the tent. Completely cheated a local animal welfare nonprofit. The venue was 45 minutes late allowing for pickup and APP charged me double my initial rate to come back the next day for pickup. In addition, their name was scrawled in tacky sharpie on all of the rentals which made for a cheap appearance at the event itself. I had my wedding in College Station and they accommodated all of my needs. The drivers were amazing and they set up in the Texas summer heat for 2-3 hours and didn't complain once! From the tents,lighting down to the chairs were all in amazing shape and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. We rented a carpet runner and had to pay a deposit. We were told that it needed to be returned clean as in no stains or we would not get our deposit back. However, when we returned the carpet runner they kept our deposit stating we didn't have it steam cleaned. We didn't know that was the expectation especially since it would expected that they would steam clean it prior to renting it out so we lost our deposit. I tried to call and talk to the manager, but she wasn't willing to help. The owner was supposed to call us back and he never did. read more

I needed rentals for a ribbon cutting event and found American Party Rentals with the help of Google. Prices looked fair. I loved how quick and easy it was to make my reservation online. As the day of the event drew closer, I had a little anxiety about whether the items would get delivered on time or to the site (it wasn't on a map yet). The staff was great about calming me down when I came to confirm everything the day before. Tony and his crew showed up five minutes before the scheduled delivery time and had the tent up in no time. Our family has rented items from this company on many occasions over the years and one thing is certainly consistent - they are more than happy to take your money, but as soon as something malfunctions in their product, they have absolutely no ownership or problem solving abilities.
