Such a cool & FUN place for a birthday party for both kids AND adults! I've been wanting to check out this place for a while & so glad my sister held my nephews birthday party here so I could finally get to check it out :). Here are a few of my "oh yeas" & "could be better" & "FYI" ... OH YEA: -you get the whole game place to yourself w/ open game play...:) -they have old school games like Super Mario, Street Fighter!!!! Kids these days don't know about that!!!! -they also have a room w/ the newer video games -they have a ping pong table :) Could be better: -adults have to pay $10 if you want to play even though I was there for a birthday party & the whole place was rented out for 2 hours FYI: -you can bring your own food -very open w/ lots of space -$300 for 2 hours to reserve the whole place for a party.. -they do have a small kitchen space for use -would be an AWESOME spot to have an adult party!! My boyfriend and I rented the whole facility out for our 20th anniversary back in November of 2018. I forgot to write a review shortly after the event, so I'm not sure if they're still open to renting out the arcade (it's not showing as such on their site). Either way, it was a great place for our party and for $1000, we got the arcade for 3-4 hours. We were able to bring in our own food and drinks. They have an area with two large tables and a sink and fridge so it makes serving food a breeze. There were several games that weren't working properly, but still enough games to keep 60 guests busy and having fun. Christy, who I dealt with at the time, was a breeze to work with and the two employees they had on site the night of the party were also super nice. UPDATE from the company's site: Unfortunately, the steady increase of rent finally forced a move to a new warehouse space that while providing many great benefits and increased storage capacity, does not allow for onsite events. read more

So, I was tasked with planning our company holiday party, which is arguably the most important task one can be given at a job. I did some googling and some yelping and stumbled upon this gem. Sara and Michael were both extremely helpful and accommodating. We were able to come in and tour the venue before booking and then come in an hour before our event to set-up. You can bring in your own food and alcohol as long as you have a TABC certified bartender, they have a great kitchen set-up with a fridge and microwave you can use, tables and coolers should you need them. The important part here is obviously the games. They have a pool table, foosball table, ping pong, air hockey, all of the arcade games you could ever possibly want, a TV for Just Dance or karaoke, and two rooms with TVs and various video game consoles (including, to my delight, a Super Nintendo). They made it clear that if there was anything we wanted that wasn't there, they might have it in the back and would happily bring it out for us, which is awesome. We actually had so much fun that we wanted to book another hour, and they had no problem with the last minute change. We just had my son's 10th birthday here. AMAZING. Everyone had so much fun- the kids and the adults! The staff is nice and super helpful during the event. This place is great! Went here for my Mom's 50th and it was a hit for all ages. Pros : - Clean bathrooms - Tons of games for kids and adults - plenty of seating and eating area - kitchen area for prepping - staff is there the entire time and extremely helpful - they had all those little things we forgot (zip locks, cake cutter, etc.) Everyone had a great time and I would highly recommend this place for anyone with a large group ranging in ages. read more

We had Game Plan Entertainment set up Five Xbox Kinect and Wii Console Games for our company Christmas Party. We couldn't be happier with the results. They were on time, had everything we asked for, and even changed plan midstream to work with other vendors. They provided coaches to help people get started playing the games and give tips and tracked high scores so we could award prizes at the end of the night. Took my son to a birthday party here yesterday (Memorial Day) and had a blast! Tons of old school video games (some were 1/2 working), new and old consoles with games set-up and ready to go (with couches and bean bags), a pool table, skee ball, shuffle board, air hockey, etc. The party prep folks were super nice and the party room they had was good for 10-15 kids. The ambiance could use some work for the adult crowd, but the kids were in heaven and took zero notice. Bonus is that it is in an office park and off the beaten path (SE corner of I-35 and 71 near Woodward St.), so there is plenty of parking and not a ton of traffic (assuming you don't have a party planned at 5pm during the weekdays). Austin needs more places like this. Well done Game Plan! read more

I'm an event planner (Savvy Events), and we used Game Plan Entertainment for a Marie Antoinette inspired masquerade ball with '80s touches. The full-size console games were a great addition to our theme, and people had a great time playing Ms. Pac Man, Space Invaders, Frogger, Joust, Centipede, and several others. Michael showed up on time to drop off the games, was very responsive to questions, and was on time to pick them up as well. As a planner, it doesn't get any better than that! I'll be happy to book these guys into any event I organize; both the service and the product are top notch. read more

We have 3 kids, and we've hosted birthday parties both at home and at many of the "hot spots" for kid parties. That being said, after our experience at Game Plan Entertainment and having the opportunity to compare the party, the cost, the value, and the flexibility, there is not a question - we will be BACK at Game Plan Entertainment for birthday parties in the future. I love that we have the whole place to ourselves, and we aren't constantly having to "count kids" as we search aisles and game pods. We can bring in our own caterer and not have to worry about food allergies or poor quality food. We can bring in our iPod with our own playlist or even bring in a band. In the end, I felt like it was a safer option for our kids and their friends, and the cost (as long as we weren't bringing in a band) was still within the normal budget for those other places. We rented Game Plan Entertainment's arcade space for our company Christmas Party. Our attendees were a mix of adults, teenagers and young kids. Everyone had a blast! There is something for everyone there. My two children (both under the age of 5), had a blast with the old-school pin ball machines and the new-school racing games. The adults and teenagers alike loved the dancing set up. Everyone crowded around the people dancing and cheered them on. I would absolutely recommend Game Plan for birthday parties, guys-night outs, and company parties. read more

We were looking everywhere for an arcade that could accommodate a bunch of 7/8 year olds with kid friendly games. My son really wanted a minecraft/skylander themed party. I could not find one anywhere, so we went with the next best thing, an arcade. You wouldn't believe how pleasantly surprised I was when I arrived to check out the venue and realized that they could set us up with those games! This place is awesome. The kids could not stop talking about how this was the BEST party ever, not only that but the parents were all playing games and having fun. They are able to set up certain games to fit your needs. We had no violent games due to the age group. Sara and Michael are awesome, and I will be using this venue again and again. We just finished a birthday party for our 11 year old. Everyone had a great time and the hosts, Michael and Sara, were phenomenal at getting us going and making us feel welcome. This is absolutely the BEST place to have a party in Austin! We were so lucky to find this place. The games are amazing - literally anything you could want! Plenty of space to spread out and hang out for the non-gamers. We were able to keep kids as young as 3 all the way up to 66 year old grandparents entertained and having a BLAST for 2 solid hours. The hosts were so, so, so helpful - they genuinely cared so much about our daughter and her party. They went out of their way to make sure every detail was perfect. The facility is GREAT! I almost forgot to write my review. If your looking for a place to have a party or event this is definitely the place. I hosted my birthday party here last month and all my guests loved it. They have everything here from old school arcade games etc, to new school playstation etc...There was even room for dancing and I was able to bring in my own food. The planning process went great Michael was very helpful along the way, the price was definitely worth it and any future events I have I will have this place at the top of my list....so if you want to rent a fun venue with great space and games this is the place to book, people of all ages would enjoy it....my guest are still talking about it today!!! read more

We held my sister's 30th birthday party at Game Plan Entertainment this summer and we could not have asked for a better venue. Sara and Michael were great to work with and incredibly flexible with us on the party setup and timeline. They were always willing to make sure everything was perfect and flowing as we would like.
