I am so impressed and pleased with the extra-extra mile service I got from Cathy at American Nails! It is a family run business that Cathy started 30 years ago (learned that in our conversation today). She has created a beautiful spa that all four of her kids work in/run. The technicians are very efficient and my experience is that they want their customers happy and will gladly redo nails at no charge. It is a beautiful place (smartly remodeled during COVID). The massage chairs looked new and were a heavenly exoerience! From what I could see they take sanitary precautions, like new liners in the pedicure tub. This morning, tho Cathy has been head of the operation, I could see that she takes great joy in making customers happy as she does manicures and pedicures (and more). I had a great experience here, love that they're open early on Sunday! I got the deluxe pedicure and it was so amazing. The massage chairs actually work (some places don't help you use them) and the service was great. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I honestly don't know how this establishment is still in business. This was my second time going there to get acrylic on my toes. When I told the nail tech (Angel) that I would like to get acrylic on my toes she said they don't do acrylic on toes and that I'd have to get a shellac pedicure. I explained to her that I had previously gotten acrylic done on my toes here. She started talking very loudly to the other ladies that were working. It was very uncomfortable. I should have just said thank you but I changed my mind and left. Unfortunately against my better judgment I stayed. Right off the bat she dropped the brush used for the acrylic on the floor. She picked it up and continued to use it. When it came to buffing my nails she was being so aggressive that she ripped her gloves multiple times as well as dropping the buffer. As I'm sure you can guess by now she did not change her gloves or the buffer. When she was done buffing I asked for a simple design with three rhinestones in a triangle near my cuticle (terrible idea) she looked at me like I had three heads. She asked me to show her a picture because she didn't know what I was talking about. Those were her exact words. In addition to showing her a picture I let her know again that I want two on the bottom and one on the top in a triangle. She put three rhinestones in a very obvious not straight line above my cuticle. She asked me if this is what I wanted because she didn't want me to come back and complain. Yes she really said that! I told her that's not what I asked for and again explained to her what I wanted. She just brushed me off and walked away. I left almost in tears. I had to get to another appointment so I left and called the manager that afternoon. I let her know that I really didn't like the design and I had a special event I wanted my toes to look nice. She said no problem come in and will fix it for you. I asked her if she herself could redo the rhinestone design and she assured me that yes she would be the one to fix them. I got there and she looked at my toes and had me sit down and walked off talking to the other nail techs. I sat there uncomfortably for what felt like forever but it was really only about five minutes. During this time my original nail tech (Angel) was talking loudly and waving her arms around angrily. She got up and pushed her chair and came over and asked what was the problem. I very nicely said that I didn't like the design it's not what I asked for. She started talking loudly to the other girls. Still angrily waving her hands and arms around. She asked me to show her a picture again so I did. My hands are shaking by this point because I was so embarrassed. She looked at my phone handed it back to me and stomped away while talking loudly. She than proceeded to sit down so hard in her chair it almost slid out from underneath her. She just left me sitting there, went and sat down with her back toward me picked up her phone and continued to talk to the other nail techs. Meanwhile I'm just sitting there trying to keep it together and not cry. Finally after sitting there for another couple of minutes waiting to hopefully see the manager so I could once again ask her to fix my toes like I was originally told would happen. The nicest lady whose name is LiLi came and sat down and fixed my toes. The rhinestones were still crooked and not what I asked for but I was just so thankful to have someone helping me so I could get the heck out of there. Let me finish by saying that had the first set of rhinestones been anywhere close to being straight I would have just cut my losses and not returned hoping to have them fixed. I had the worst experience getting my nails done at American nails. each and everyone of my fingers was bleeding at the cuticle. It was very painful. I talk to the owner and showed her my fingers. she offered to do my eyelashes for $20. I never had my eyelashes done professionally, so I agreed to come in the next day. my eyelashes Extensions were so hard to the touch. She used way too much glue on them. I had them on for less than a week before they started to fall off along with my natural lashes. So not only did I have a terrible nail experience but also an eyelash extension experience. now I have to wait six weeks for my natural lashes to grow back because she is not certified to do eyelashes. I usually don't leave reviews. I tried this place out a couple of times. Every single time there was an issue; they couldn't find my appt, they messed up my nails or pedi. This last time I got a pedi the lady cut my nails when I said not to so I can do a French tip. This place is affordable and fast and takes walk-ins. I didn't like the drill but my tech was friendly and competent and did gel manicure with small gold sparkles and large gold foil sparkles on top. They didn't hurt my nails and so far it's really held up, three weeks later and no chip. I don't think they do Instagram nails, but if you just need a color and someone to do a good job quickly then this is your place. read more

I started seeing Richard and wow am I impressed! He is very personable and kind. He has a steady hand and was very helpful in finding what I wanted! I let him know some of my interests in different nail designs and he helped me think of different ways to incorporate them in my style. They could not get my old Shallac off and it was closing time so they overdid it and ruined my nails. The gel polish starting chipping as soon as I left. From scalding water for the pedicure to repeated squeezing/buffing of a scrape on my thumb that nearly started bleeding from the roughness. I left with old glue/residue still on my hands (including flecks of old nail polish from a previous manicure) and nails that were half heartedly painted. In addition to that once finished painting my nails (with normal nail polish) was told thanks, and dismissed. Wasn't given any drying tools or time to let them be finished. Pedicures are usually a relaxing experience for me, but not this time. EXPERIENCE: I presented the photo of the design and was told by our technician it could not be done. Luckily, the technician next to us had a different opinion, and 7 minutes later our technician returned, ready to HK away. My daughter had to sit on my lap. While I understand she is 6, she hasn't had to sit on my lap out of necessity in a few years. This definitely didn't make her feel like she was having a big girl's day out. I have taken her to my usual spot before and for the same price, my lap was always free. SUMMARY: One hour forty minutes and $50 later, we definitely received well crafted matching Kitty toes. I went today to get a manicure with the dip, first off the lady didn't even remove the dip powder I had completely, she cut and filed all of my nails different lengths and shapes some are square some are round and others are square on one side and round on the other, they're all bumpy and uneven from the old product that was left behind and I have some nails that aren't completely covered with the dip and others where the dip goes over my actual finger. I went for a walk-in and from the moment I walked in one lady was very rude that we had 2 kids with us to get pedicures. When she started my nails the tips didn't fit! She didn't file my nails or touch my cuticles at all. When she started applying the acrylic, I asked if she gonna fix something and she started being rude. I'm very disappointed with my eyelash and nail service at American Nails. I'm bummed because I've had great manicures here and they are always really fast. Let me start from the beginning... I made an appointment for eyelash extensions. I specifically asked for individual extensions as opposed to cluster extensions for the following reasons: 1) I've had clusters before and I don't think they look as natural. They also make your lash line feel uneven which makes applying makeup very difficult. 2) They don't last as long because the clusters are so heavy. When they start falling out, they pull your real lashes with them AND they look awful when they come out in clusters. You have to refill with falsies after a week. 3) They fall out quicker and more noticeably. I got these extensions for a vacation and they looked nice in the beginning, but 1 week in and they're falling out in chunks. The women at AN tried to convince me to get clusters multiple times and I repeatedly said no. I think it's weird that a business would advertise a service and not be willing to provide that service. After finally agreeing to give me individuals, the application was not great... Firstly, I didn't have to sign anything or get any prep paperwork. This is odd as every other place I've gotten extensions makes me fill out a paper with infection warnings. Also, the woman doing my extensions got glue pieces all over my lids. I wasn't that annoyed at the time because they looked pretty and it wasn't that expensive. After the application, I asked if anyone could squeeze me in for a new acrylic set. The same woman who did my lashes did my nails and rushed through them, applied the polish uneven, got polish on my fingers and didn't wipe it off. Again, whatever... I'm not that picky and I really didn't care that my nails weren't perfect. Then, I tried to pay with my credit card but the woman asked if I could just Venmo her for the services. I didn't have a problem doing this, I just thought it was weird. She also made me stand there until she saw the money show up in her Venmo... very odd, but whatever. Here's the kicker: I'm extremely disappointed 1 week into my vacation and about 12 days after my lash application to find CLUSTER lashes falling out. I specifically asked for individuals AND paid the extra money to get individual extensions. My lashes look awful and now I have to get falsies to apply while my extensions fall out in chunks. Horrible service! Had a nail powder gel manicure, was cut 3 times with no apology. Nails look like horrible- chunks of powder not smooth at all. Will Never return or recommend!!!
