I was there in Casper to meet my parent's and we had a large washer and dryer that needed to go up on the 2nd floor of my parent's townhouse. It was too heavy for three crew and they did not want to deal with the curve on my stairs. I called American Movers Direct and they sent a team of 4 guys. They removed the pedestals and wrapped the washer and dryer along with my stairwell and chandelier. I'd highly recommend this company and this team! I am an elderly 75 year old woman, with a handicapped 77 year old husband. We had planned this move over 2 months ago in advance so that we could move in with my son who will help take care of us. On June 24th, 2024, a Penske truck arrived at my house a day early than was scheduled, to move boxes from my NY house to my new residence with my son in CA. Two gentlemen approached and asked where the furniture was. We told them we have no furniture and never reported any furniture, then proceeded to show them the garage that contained all the boxes we had requested for the move. One of the men immediately told us without even measuring and which was completely incorrect, that what we had was more than 800 cubic feet. Rather than argue over measurements and extra overage, I told them to please then only take the 800 cubic feet I was scheduled and commissioned for the company to move. Plain and simple, it would satisfy the terms and we would have no issues. After repeatedly looking at the boxes and making phone calls to someone else, he finally responds to me and my son who was also present to supervise, that for $2500 he couldn't afford to take this job and that it was not worth it for him. He proceeded to immediately close up the truck and left without care. I insisted that they continue the move, but instead they were canceling what was scheduled and left without further discussion. No service was ever refused by me. This was a serious, extremely stressful inconvenience to me and my husband who is handicapped. Much of what we needed to be sent over now will not be at the proper time and we are at a loss. As I stated, I spoke to Jessie Wright the next day about the move and that the movers had canceled and walked away with no reason other than they weren't going to be able to profit due to no furniture or excess weight over what we had commissioned so that they could overcharge. Their response was to regurgitate back to me that the carrier gave a revised estimate for additional items and that I then refused the service and they left, which is a complete lie. American Movers Direct now refuses to give me my deposit of $1300 back and instead tells me I need to speak directly to the carrier at this point to resolve the issue. This company is a scam and fraudulent. I should have done my due diligence as to their reputation, but unfortunately as an old woman I am not as skilled on the internet as my children. My son soon after looked on the internet and found countless fraud and scam warnings on yelp, and other review sites. I would like my deposit back, which they made clear could only be paid in cash, a big red sign I should have understood. I was very detailed in letting them know what I had to move. they showed up and told me it'd me over $4000. keep in mind they already took my deposit and I was leaving the state the next morning for my job. Carefree Movers from Phoenix Arizona looked at the stack of boxes that I assembled on my patio for them to move and began telling me that they'd have to change the contract because I was moving more cubic feet than was in my contract. Okay, I said how much more do you want? They went back into their truck and called their boss, etc and just sat there for over an hour. Sebastian Monroe cashed it immediately. When we requested a refund/cancellation of service, he demanded over and over that in order to process the refund, the agreement would need to be signed. He was extremely aggressive and rude. Once the agreement was signed and a formal cancellation request was submitted, the refund was denied due to being in peak season which they define as April 1 to March 5 each year only leaving a 26 day window in which service could be cancelled. We have used professional moving companies on 15 different occasions to move our personal belongs both domestically and internationally and never encountered issues like we did with American Movers Direct. Based on our past experiences, this company is not and should not be classified as a professional company. 1) We provided a very detailed inventory (exact dimensions and number of boxes) to be transported 2) After we made the initial payment, our calls went to an answering machine and it would take hours before they called back. This was definitely a red flag moment, but we had already committed thousands of dollars to our move, so had no choice but to continue with the move. 3) Moving Day, the movers did a good job of wrapping and packing our items, but halfway through they informed us that American Movers had underestimated the load and they had to re-quote. They refused to continue to pack our items until we agreed to pay additional thousands $$. 4) We contacted American Movers directly, but never spoke to the same individual. The individual I spoke to stated that the moving company had agreed to move all of our items for the pre-determined amount, but then he stated that they only provided a quote and that we had more items than they had quoted, which is still perplexing since we provided a very detailed inventory along with detailed photos of the items to be moved. 5) American Movers representative was rather rude, stated that we would need to pay or find another way to move the remaining items; since we were under a sensitive timeline, we had no choice but to agree to the new price. When you call the number, they answer with a name and not the name of the business because they hire a third party to take the heat. They ask you if you are looking for a quote. If you say yes they transfer you to the company immediately, but once you are involved, they ask the same question and you tell them you already have a quote then they ask what the problem is then type out what you want to tell the company in an email then send it promising you will be contacted by email within 24 hrs. You are at their mercy. Very uncomfortable feeling. Quote came in very low. I was moving out of pocket for work so I took it and the problems began. The night before the movers were to arrive, they (he) called me to ask how much stuff I had. Once I told him he quadrupled his price then we disputed it and he backed out. Keep in mind we had to be out of our house because we sold it already at this point. Then I called and the games began. Frank was the estimator I ended up talking to and we got someone lined up to pick up our stuff then the movers tried to double the estimate on site. We agreed for them to take a single box truck which measured out to be roughly 1700 cubic feet when I paid for 1920. I told the guy and he said it was his boss that calls the truck 1920 cubic feet and sets that price. I told him cubic feet are not a flexible unit of measurement and you can't just charge for space not used but it didn't matter. So they leave and I have to get a 20ft Uhaul truck and cram it myself with the rest of our belongings. We get to Vancouver WA and try to make contact with the company who AMD hired to move my stuff (that's right, the broker hired a broker) called TicTac relocation and their phone was not reachable and emails barely. They returned my call after a whole day of panicking and set up a timeframe for delivery. They said my stuff was in CA which made sense cause it was along the way so I went with it. That time came and I called and emailed and they said the truck broke then a holiday came as our second delivery date approached and it happened again. This time they said parts were hard to get cause the holiday. They rescheduled for a few days later then it happened again. Currently we have finally been contacted by a driver and his balance exceeds our contract remaining balance by $1,192 and he said if I can't pay it on top of my contract balance to meet the cost he and the second broker agreed upon, then all my stuff will get put back into storage in a place somewhere close by but where I can't know while it incurs a couple thousand more dollars in moving and storage fees. Thought I was all set. 1 week before move AMD LLC text me and asked for pictures. Pics provided ad Richard called to verify the items. He thought that was a lot of items. I said well what doesn't fit doesn't go. I was then told we were getting 400 cubic feet. I stated I paid for a 12ft container. He said nothing and conversation was over. Pickup/drop off day comes and the driver text he would arrive at 1pm May 11th. I am on my way from where I live an hour and a half away from the items and I receive a phone call from driver he is not coming until the 12th between 10-11 am . Then another text at 12:11 pm that he is 2 hours and 30 mins away. Then another text at 3:22 his GPS took he somewhere else. Finally arrives at 4:30. There is no container, it's an unmarked truck with 2 guys. The driver is looking at all we have to move and says that won't fit, you have 300 cu ft and we do the loading and unloading . Also your cost is now $3921.00. I explain that's not what I paid for, even Jeffie on a later call says I didn't pay for that. Short of it now, we refused service and AMD LLC, we not provide me the paper work and said I cannot have a refund. We ended up moving the things out selves. I actually have called and requested documents, sent emails and text. I don't receive anything. We felt very threatened by the driver and felt we would not get out belongings. I called back and was told to contact billing. I did they told me I could cancel the movers witch had not even been completed yet. Less than 12 hours after speaking to them they informed me my deposit was non-refundable and will not even speak to me. I am now dealing with my bank to get this refunded as well as speaking to my lawyer. Small claims will not faze me in the least. Stop scamming people and stealing money. read more

FRAUD ALERT!!!!!!!!! I called American Movers Direct, LLC to set a move with Roger Cohen. All conversations warn me that it is a recorded line, Roger tells me they can move my double-wide mobile home from Mt. Olive, IL, to Perryville, MO. We talked about how we were going to have to separate the home and take it in two pieces, he asked me to have the AC unit disconnected and placed in the home to be moved with it. I sent him photos of the trailer and the pad it was going to be placed on with the dimensions and square footage of the home. He told me on a recorded line that they would take the trailer apart and put it back together for the agreed-upon price of 8,507.95. I paid the $5,000 deposit on 09/26/23. The day of pickup that was scheduled was 11/14/23; no one contacted me prior to my pick up to tell me the time of the pickup. I called Roger on 11/14/23 at 9 am, and he said they aren't even licensed to move mobile homes. When I asked for a refund, he said they couldn't do a refund at this point. When I look back at my contract, they added a bunch of furniture to the bottom that I don't even own, to make it look like my contract was set to move household goods. If I could give this company zero I would, it is the biggest scam that's out there. I am out $1800 and they won't give me my money back. I had to find out after after nothing lined up that they were a scam , unfortunately, I never looked at all the horrible reviews before paying . They promised me a 26 foot truck and then told me I was only getting 400 ft.³ of it and I would have to pay according to how much furniture I had when I already told them they were moving a three bedroom house, once I signed the contract they said there's no way we would move your entire house for $2800 and then started laughing. He told me once they arrived I'd have to pay thousands more depending on how much furniture I had when they already knew what they were picking up, then they decided after I sign the contract to tell me they were not Moving Company and when the Moving Company showed up, they would decide how much to charge me to move me. So on top of the 2800 they were going to charge me thousands more because they manipulated me into 400 ft.³ of a 26 foot truck that I ordered. So I would've been stuck paying thousands more at the time of the move then they also informed me after I signed the contract that they weren't the moving company and that I would have to pay four to $6000 for the other Moving Company. They only use Venmo so you cannot get your money back or track it and then they tell you sorry there's no refund and block you. Please don't use this company. I'm devastated , I only lost 1800. It could've been so much worse for me. Everybody else on here had to lose so much more and it's such a tragedy. This company needs to be exposed. If I could rate this company with less than one star, I would. They contracted for one amount and secured a sizable deposit, and then 36 hours before moving day they upped the amount buy close to $7,000 more. They refused to refund my deposit paid and instead insisted on an additional $1,000 deposit. They stated that if I refuse the additional deposit that they would indeed cancel the move. This has left us in a critical situation that is time sensitive. This is not right and something more than bad reviews needs to happen to this company so that they will finally hear are collective voices. Perhaps then they will feel the pain that they have put us through. I would like to put together a class action lawsuit against their fraudulent and deceptive practices. 0 Star This is the worst moving company and I will not recommend anyone to use their services. I moved my shipment on 28 May from Spring Valley, CA to Atlanta ,GA. It has been more then 2 months and I have not received my shipment at the destination. During this time I tried to contact more than 100 times to American movers team , AMC quick relocation (their partner for the move) and support team. Every time from support team I get the response that I will receive a call or email about the update but I did not got any update. AMC quick relocation is not picking my call and my wife health is serious now and I have no update about my shipment. I need my shipment as it is very important and my wife health is getting impacted without our all essential items.
