If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping, and/or you want to add a little something special…read moreto your own holiday décor, consider heading over to High Street in Moorpark for a special treat. This adorable shop is still packed with Christmas / wintery cheer. There's so much to see. It's a visual feast for the eyes, and it's so inspiring to amp-ing up your seasonal style. The friendly owners can help direct you to a particular theme within the store. From actual vintage items, to vintage-inspired new merchandise, there's so much from which to choose. (Snowmen! Giant jingle bells! Candle holders! Snowflakes! Miniature Christmas trees!) There're a lot of red and white accents, but also white & natural / rustic options, as well. I didn't take a lot of photos this time. Shame on me! I was so engrossed in just taking it all in. I did pick up a few items to expand on a particular theme in our kitchen / dining room. They do feature furniture pieces. This time of year, more emphasis is on decorations of all types. They also carry stocking-stuffer choices like hand creams, soaps, candles, jewelry, and more. There's still time to shop. They're open Tuesday through Sunday. They have been staying open till 7:00 on December Friday evenings. They may do that on the 22nd, but I'd call to verify. Take a break from overcrowded shopping venues and enjoy warmth and inspiration at Ambiance.

And finding it open can sometimes be hit or miss. BUT, if you're lucky enough to find it open - shop here! Seriously, I can find something unique and tropical in this eclectic shop. Souvenirs from Hawaii? Check! Everything needed for those annual luau parties? YUP! Truly unique gift items at affordable prices? You bet! Tons of awesome Christmas decorations for your mele kalikimaka holiday theme? Absolutely! I posted a pic of the great stocking I bought for my hubs - he LOVED it btw. I also got a Hawaiian Christmas ornament because even though we'd been to Hawaii, we hadn't found a Hawaiian ornament during any of our visits there. We also visit this store at least once a month April through September for Hawaiian clothes and decorations for tropical summer parties. They have AMAZING Hawaiian shirts! And, I've found several lovely Hawaiian dresses here as well. Don the Beachcombers is fun, interesting, and brings a smile to so many faces. Take a stroll through their treasures and I'm sure you'll find something you suddenly can't live without. It's filled with true treasures!

I also love to pick up a plumeria fragrance roll on here, but they have other exotic fragrances too. The guys who run the store are always friendly and helpful. They also have Hawaiian floral hair ornaments, bracelets, lots of miscellaneous. The last time I was there they had moved and weren't open yet in their new location, but I hope they are now. I can't recommend this store more highly!

My four-year-old son and I visited the store to celebrate his birthday, a tradition we have enjoyed every year since his first birthday. What should have been a joyful surprise became one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. When we entered the store, the first sales associate asked when my son's birthday was. I explained that his birthday was June 29 and that we were still within a month of his birthday. She responded, "As long as it's in the month of July." I explained that it was within the past month, and she immediately told me that was not allowed and that I would have to pay full price for the birthday bear. I politely asked, "You can't just honor it?" She walked away to speak with someone I presume was the manager. When she returned, she told me they would honor the $4 birthday bear, gestured toward the eligible bears, turned around, and walked away. She never came back. My four-year-old son stood there waiting, excited for what was supposed to be a birthday surprise. We were left standing without any assistance until another sales associate finished helping another customer. I finally had to ask, "So, is someone going to help us?" The second associate looked confused, looked around for the first employee, and then stepped in to help us. I want to recognize that this second associate was exceptional. She immediately made my son feel special by giving him a birthday badge and enthusiastically celebrating his birthday. The associate who stuffed his bear was also warm, patient, and kind. Their professionalism helped salvage part of the experience, and I am grateful for the care they showed my son. By that point, the excitement surrounding the birthday bear had disappeared. I no longer wanted to continue discussing the promotion after the way we had been treated. Instead, I let my son choose a full-price Chase bear because I wanted to preserve what remained of his birthday celebration. As we were finishing our visit, the original sales associate returned and asked the other employee whether she had collected our name and email "for the birthday bear," despite clearly seeing that my son had selected a full-price Chase bear instead. She continued questioning the other employee while glaring at us. Her demeanor throughout our visit was hostile, dismissive, and unwelcoming. I left the store feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and deeply saddened. What troubles me most is that I watched other families receive warm, attentive, and courteous service while my family was treated differently from the moment we entered the store. Based on the totality of this interaction, I believe we were subjected to discriminatory treatment. While I cannot know the employee's personal motivations, I know how my family was treated, and it stood in stark contrast to the treatment other customers received. As a Black mother, I should not have to wonder whether my race influenced the level of respect and service my son and I received during what should have been a joyful milestone. This annual Build-A-Bear visit is more than a shopping trip. It is one of our family's birthday traditions. Since my son's first birthday, we have celebrated by making his birthday bear together. Those memories are incredibly special to us. This year, one employee's conduct overshadowed what should have been another cherished memory. I am requesting the following: A thorough investigation into this incident, including interviews with the employees who worked that day and a review of any available surveillance footage. Appropriate accountability for the employee whose conduct resulted in this experience. A written apology from Build-A-Bear acknowledging the way my family was treated. Confirmation of the steps Build-A-Bear will take to reinforce its commitment to equitable, respectful customer service for every guest. I chose Build-A-Bear because your company represents joy, inclusion, and creating lasting memories for children. My son deserved to feel celebrated on his birthday. Instead, he witnessed his mother being dismissed and ignored during what should have been a happy occasion. I hope Build-A-Bear will take this complaint seriously and respond in a manner that reflects the values your company publicly embraces. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the outcome of your investigation.

We exchanged a few emails after our initial meeting to hammer out some other details, and each time, Maria was very gracious in offering up her time and availability, despite it being a very busy season. Boring and very disorganized. I seriously want my money back. Don't waste your time or your money…read more My family and I came to see the lights at the Regan Library and made a huge mistake. The ticket cost was $12 online for adults but we had a discount code and got our tickets for $9 each. It's $17 at the gate! It wasn't worth $9. I wouldn't even recommend coming even if it was free. This was absolutely the worst light show I've ever been to. I would have been better off just driving down my local "candy cane lane" it would have been more entertaining. First of all we were advised that we couldn't park at the library on the day we went but instead to park at the park down the hill to be shuttled about ten minutes away from the library. Not a big deal but there were no signs directing you were to go once we got to the park. We had to look for the shuttles. We found them and were able to park fairly quickly, but then we got to the library and found many cars in the parking lot and many open spots!!?? Could we have parked there?? We had prepaid for our tickets so getting our wristbands was very easy and quick but once we entered there were no signs and no one directing you where the tour started etc. so of course we walk in and go the wrong way. We weren't the only ones because as we were walking in there were people trying to walk out and they were being told they had to walk another way to exit. I asked an attendant who advised where the beginning of the tour was so now we were on our way. As we walked back to the entrance there were no visible signs. We eventually found the entrance to the tour and I have to say it was extremely disappointing. It took us about 25 minutes to walk through the tour, which was very boring and had barely any lights. The most interesting part was the Christmas present and the courtyard blowing fake snow. There were multiple stands where they were selling food, drinks, and other merchandise throughout the tour area. Seems like they focused on that more than the lights themselves because it was very much lacking. I compare the scope of what they had to a light show or decorations you would see at a mall which is free. To pay for something like this is a huge sham and sadly a lot of people got scammed on this one. Seriously, that was the best the Reagan Library could do? A few trees wrapped in lights, a light tunnel, and few figurines. Pretty low budget for the amount of money they'll make off of this. It gets better though. When we left we had to stand in a monster line waiting for a shuttle and it was cold. It took longer or just as long as it took for us to get through the tour to get through a massive line and on to the shuttle!! Unbelievable. Bottomline save yourself the trouble don't go to this event. Sorry for my lack of photos but it wasn't worth taking many.

What an amazing atmosphere, all you imagine and more. Was a time I will remember for years to comeread more
