AMERICAN GROVES SENIOR LIVING IS GREAT! We had been single family homeowners for over 50 years so you can imagine the discussions that took place to debate the possibility of downsizing to an Independent Living Facility. "What are going to do with all this STUFF?" as George Carlin describes it. Well, The Purple Heart Veterans Association Thrift Store in Mesa wound up with more than half of our "STUFF" and guess what--- we don't miss it! We wanted to stay in the general Gilbert, AZ area so we started researching facilities and had about 6 places on the original list. We toured all of them and it became apparent that American Groves was head and shoulders the best place for us. I'm a right leg above knee amputee with limited mobility so accessibility was a key issue. We selected a ground floor unit with easy access to handicapped parking. Getting in and out and around the apartment and everywhere else on the property is a no brainer. The entire place is totally ADA compliant. We have plenty of windows, (And they, not me, wash them!) so the rooms are bright with an open feeling. You can park an 18-wheeler in the showers! (Almost). I was concerned about the square footage, but the floor plan maximizes the use of the space. I'm more comfortable here than I was in our previous house that had about 30% more square footage. While the facility is First Class, what makes American Groves a great place to live is the staff. We are extremely fortunate to have the quality of people that has been assembled to operate this beautiful facility. Everyone, and I mean everyone is positive, energetic, friendly, smiling and will bend over backwards to make sure all our needs and wishes are taken care of. They al go above and beyond expectations And now a special comment about the Culinary Staff. I never expected to see the quality, variety and presentation of the food coming out of the kitchen as we have here at American Groves. The food is as good or better than any food coming out of any restaurant in The Valley or beyond for that matter. It is 5 STAR QUALITY - I mean it: it's 5 STAR QUALITY. I've traveled extensively and eaten in many fine dining restaurants and the food here is as good as any I've eaten. I'm also working full time and very appreciative of the space that's been provided for me to have Work from Home capability. We were the first people to move in. Even with the challenges of a new facility startup, we feel we made the right decision moving here. We're glad to be considered as Ambassadors for American Groves and as the place fills up, and it will, we look forward to meeting new people and becoming your friend. After touring numerous senior living communities in the East Valley, and not finding a good fit for our loved one, we were lucky enough to tour the newly opened American Groves. What a refreshing difference in senior living! The rooms and grounds are warm and inviting, beautiful without being stuffy. Our loved one quickly fell in love with a unit that has a large open patio that opens to a scenic courtyard. Not only are the facilities inviting, but so is the entire staff. From receptionist, chefs, housekeeping, activities coordinator, and maintenance, they all greet everyone with a welcome smile and knew all our names almost immediately. From day one, we we felt that our loved one, and our whole family, are cared for and valued members of the American Groves community. The staff also does a great job putting fun into Senior Living with various activities, clubs, fitness, themed parties and outings. Thankfully a monthly calendar is provided to keep track of it all. When we toured we noticed all apartments have a full kitchen, but I doubt they will be used too much because the food is fabulous right down to desserts. You really have to keep your sweet tooth in check because there's always a tempting dessert, even a few diabetic friendly ones. The talented chefs are simply the best and truly care about pleasing "the boss", who are the residents. They ask about favorite meals, take requests for special items and always visit the table with a smile. Have you been searching facilities for yourself or loved ones? After comparing and visiting other senior living facilities I moved to American Groves nine Months ago. The architecture here is unique and the apartments are bright and cheery with varying sizes to choose from. Pets are allowed as well. People who come to visit me tell me this place has the feeling of a resort The staff here is all very friendly and caring. From the first day I was here, the staff would see me in the hallway and greet me by my first name. Serving on a welcome committee, gives me a great opportunity to meet and get acquainted with new residents as they arrive. The food here is excellent. There are specials every day or you can choose from another menu which has many choices. The Culinary Chef likes to have us suggest things that we would like to have to see on the menu. These meals bring back fond family memories. The pastry chef is always surprising us with some of her delicious desserts. Lemon meringue pie and cream puffs seem to quickly disappear. I take advantage of the many Activities which include strength and balance classes, yoga, pool walking in a beautifully designed pool and Jacuzzi, private physical activity training, and a gym fully equipped. In addition to that we have a nail salon, beauty parlor, also a massage therapist. I can without any doubt, give this facility a 5-Star Review. read more

I have been to and lived in three other facilities and nothing can compare to American Groves. What a wonderful place. It is like living in a resort. We have a heated swimming pool to do water aerobics with a wonderful instructor. Refreshing hot tub if one should like to soak a while. A putting green, gymnasium with a person to help with exercises and to top it off every room has a balcony to enjoy the fresh air should one desire. There is a stretch and balance class with a qualified leader, Chair yoga, men's coffee and ladies coffee and social, WII bowling, card games, Mah Jongg, corn hole tournaments. I could go on and on. I almost forgot we also have a movie theater with comfortable chairs with foot rests if you wish. The food is prepared by a chef and we also have a pastry chef who makes deserts to die for. All food is prepared from scratch in our kitchen.The menu is delightful and very, very tasty. Our staff is outstanding, very helpful and friendly. Our nurse is a delight to get to know, the maintenance personnel are very knowledgeable and helpful, the med techs and aides are here to help those persons here in Assisted Living. All the residents are friendly and enjoy a good laugh. I have no choice but to gratefully give American Groves FIVE STARS. Come join us and become part of our Family! read more

Since November 2021 my wife and I have really enjoyed being residents of American Groves Senior Living in Gilbert Arizona.. There are numerous reasons why we feel that this community deserves a five-star rating. All the staff are courteous, responsive, and helpful. We enjoy two excellent restaurants.Their meals are well-prepared from scratch, and they are very reasonably priced. Every "Thirsty Thursday" evening we are treated to alcoholic drinks and the company of other residents in the fine dining room. You are permitted to bring your own alcoholic drinks. We have met many fine people here and the social atmosphere is extremely friendly. They have a fully equipped gym and SPA and a terrific physical therapist. She not only teaches several classes a week, she also provides one-on-one instructions which are available at least twice a week. Their full-time nurse has been very helpful. My wife and I are fully independent, but we have friends here who avail themselves of the assisted living option. The whole facility is kept very clean, and the landscaping is well-maintained. They bring in guest speakers who specialize in health, hobbies and history subjects.In summary, we can highly recommend this facility to anyone. read more

Three years ago, I started looking for a senior living community--mainly to find support for my wife, who sadly passed away shortly after we moved into Pebble Ranch. I had watched the community being built from my home down the street, and everything turned out exactly as it was presented during our tour. The apartment was spacious and beautifully designed. The amenities are outstanding, and the staff is always accommodating. Meal service is excellent, and the periodic housekeeping is very good. One of my favorite areas is the study room, where I enjoy working on puzzles and playing cards. I also look forward to meeting with the men every Monday morning for Men's Club and to our monthly men's dinners. The convenience of bus service for church, doctor appointments, and outings is a real plus. I find Pebble Ranch to be very affordable considering everything that's offered, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for assisted living. read more

I have been a resident of American Groves for three months and I have enjoyed every day I've been here. It is a lovely place to live! I like my nice modern apartment as well as the helpful and friendly workers who provide great service each day. As an assisted living resident, I know I'm being well taken care of by friendly and competent staff members. Meal times give me the opportunity to enjoy the good food along with making many new friends. There are many opportunities to get to know one another including programs, exercises, movies and crafts as well as to enjoy entertainment from outsiders that is provided regularly. Also, many services are included to meet my needs including appointments, shopping, etc. These opportunities along with many others help me interact with other residents as we get to know one another. This is an amazing place. When I first visited I thought I had walked into a high-end resort like the Phoenician or Hyatt. My mom is a resident now and the staff is constantly keeping her active. Whether is jewelry making, art & crafts, or simply watching a movie in their amazing cinema room, the staff are amazing. They check in on her just to say hello. She no longer needs to travel for Medicare physical therapy, they have a gym and also do in room sessions, and they set it all up for her. The food is amazing as they have some of the best chefs according to my mom. This place features a large movie theater room, heated pool & spa, library, puzzle table, pool table and so much more. I love that they provide independent & assisted living. The residents are very friendly. Amazing Place! Just knowing that my mother is well cared for, I could not ask for a better place! My wife and I moved in here 4/5 weeks ago and could not be happier, the people and staff here treat you as one big family, and cater to your every need, my wife and I have realized that these are not the Golden years but the rusty years and because of that reason we chose American Grove as our home, it was a hard decision but we hired a great estate sales person and sold about 90% of what we owned and find that we do not miss any of the things because they are just things, we find all of the people like us are very friendly and will be our lifelong friends. I was recently invited by American Groves to tour the property and was also treated to a yummy lunch prepared by the staff. The residents are so lucky! We sat and chatted with the owner and staff, who invited a resident to join us... she was so fun and we learned so much about her exciting life. It was clear that she was happy to call American Groves home, and it was clear that those who work there, whatever their role, are intently focused on making it a great place to live and enjoy. I've had the opportunity to visit American Groves and I think this is a Beautiful Community if you are looking for a place for your loved one. Its truly one of the best! Everyone here is wonderful the staff and residents they make you feel welcome! I had the opportunity to dine in and the food was delicious top notch! They have a Gorgeous Spa that is opened to the public which I have never seen in a senior community. Touring American Groves and meeting some of the staff was such a treat. Not only are the facilities beautiful (and clearly designed with residents in mind), but the staff were genuinely caring and able to answer all our questions. I've been working at American Groves for a year. I love the employees, the residents and coming to a beautiful building. It's truly one of the best places that I've worked. The staff works so well together. The residents are delightful. There's always something fun going on. I've seen residents enjoying all the physical exercise programs. I have lived at Pebble Ranch (formally American Groves) for over a year now. I have enjoyed the lifestyle it affords me. The staff and the residents are all super friendly and helpful. It being a smaller community, one gets acquainted very quickly with the residents. There are so many activities that you keep as busy as you want.
