Back in the day I used to work at Herbergers (at Southdale). When Herbergers left and Von Maur…read morestores started popping up I kind of refused to shop here because I felt like it would give me the same vibes as Herbergers... and it does minus the sales that Herbergers had. For sure feel like it's catered to the older crowd. We parked at Von Maur to cut through to the mall. A few things did catch my eye while passing so we ended up looking around a bit. I did find an item to purchase and walked a bit to find a pay station. When I walked up a customer and the cashier were deep into conversation about vacation and even with me waiting they carried on for 5 or so minutes after the fact. I ended up sitting in the chairs nearby to wait. I can say when they finally wrapped their conversation the cashier wasn't as friendly which made me think maybe I shouldn't purchase from them. There was no "thank you for your patience or waiting", "did you find everything okay" or anything. Overall the store is pretty neat and organized. Not a ton of staff around but also never seen a lot of people shopping either. Items seem to be good quality.

I parked by Von Maur and cut through the store to get to the food court. When I lived in Minnesota, huge department stores were popular. Macy's. Dayton's. Sears. Nordstrom. Neiman Marcus. Dayton's was Minnesota-based. It died, similar to Sears. It was my first time stepping foot in a Von Maur store. It felt like walking into an old Eaton's or Simpsons store when I was a kid. There was a lot to see. It felt comfortable. There was excitement. The first store that the von Maur family opened was in the late 1800's in Davenport, IA. It has since expanded to fifteen states. Its headquarters are still in Davenport. I had no idea. I have actually been to Davenport! This store had a wide variety of brand-name merchandise. I saw popular brands, such as Tommy HIlfiger and Anne Klein. There were many brands that I had never heard of, such as Lyssé, AGB, and Ruby Rd for women's clothing. I am such an outlet, discount shopper. It was nice checking out a classy department store, to change things up. I felt comfortable. Staff were super friendly and non-judgmental. They smiled and said hi. The best part was hearing a pianist in the lobby play songs at noon. It was so cheerful and refreshing as I browsed and moved. I loved it. There were escalators and elevators to get to to various floors of this large department store. It was clean and inviting. I will need to return when I'm not looking for lunch to shop here. I loved what I saw and I look forward to returning. (415)

I recommend this mall for parents with young kids who don't want to spend much or anything at all…read more They have a lovely closed off play area on the lower level that good for toddlers through kindergarten. Outside of that is the largest collection of quarter slot rides that I know of. They accept card payment or lets your kids pretend and don't pay to turn them on at all. Then there's a train ride and rideable animals for a fee. In Scheels they have a beautiful aquarium, a fun shooting range for a small fee and a ferris wheel that's only $1 per rider. Then upstairs they have a nice food court with clean restrooms and a variety of food options. I wish all malls were like this.

5 Stars for Unexpected Wonders at Eden Prairie Center!…read more Eden Prairie Center gets 5 stars from me after an Easter photoshoot turned into a fun adventure. I wasn't even planning on going to the mall, but it was worth the trip. What really surprised me was Scheels. The size of it is impressive, but the fact they had a real aquarium and a Ferris wheel?! That's a whole other level! It's cool to see a store go above and beyond with entertainment and attractions. I also loved how the staff were very helpful pointing me in the right direction. I didn't shop at any of the other stores so I can't comment on those, but overall it was nice. It was a beautiful day and I just enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. If you need to get out of the house, stretch your legs and be surprised by a unique shopping experience, Eden Prairie Center is a must visit. Scheels alone is worth the trip! Win for a fun unexpected outing.

I will say it's a bit dead and very hard to find staff to help besides a few of the checkout areas. Back when I worked retail 2-3 people were staffed to each department to cashier/assist & zone the area, now it's just a cashier. Overall you can find some nice things in Kohls.

The last time I was in Eden Prairie, I had two days to take in as much as possible. On this trip, I…read morerealized that this Kohl's is a five-minute drive from my hotel. I decided to pay it a visit. I like being pleasantly surprised. This Kohl's is a part of Eden Prairie Center. How did I not know that I was by a mall?! Anyway, I parked and walked in. This Kohl's is huge. There are two floors. There's an escalator in the middle of the store. The Minnesota sports apparel section is impressive. You have all four major sports teams (Wild, Timberwolves, Vikings, and Twins) represented in the form of hoodies, t-shirts, practice shirts, and more. There was a sale going on. Although I'm not a huge football fan, part of me wants a Vikings hoodie simply because it's in my favourite colour. I love the Fossil animal wallets and change purses. I am pleased that I have willpower. I am perfectly content with my wallet and didn't buy a new one. The shoe section is great. I found a pair of pink Vans in my size. I didn't really need any shoes, but I enjoyed browsing. This store has Sip by S'well beverage bottles. I own a pair of purple ones and they work well. This store also has accessories, from special brushes to clean the bottles, to reusable straws with a special cleaning brush for them. Neat! In October, Peanuts plushies were going for $5 each. I wanted one, but decided to pass. I am glad that I am patient. These plushies were 50% off. I ended up getting Snoopy and Charlie Brown, so I essentially bought one, and got one for free. The cashier seemed nice, but a bit impatient. I had to wait for my rewards barcode to load on my phone. I felt her evil eye staring at me. I let it slide. Eventually, the Kohl's app co-operated on my phone, and she was able to scan it. I paid using a credit card. The prompts were confusing on the machine. It said that it required cashier assistance, but it really didn't. Anyway, I successfully paid, grabbed my goodies, said thanks, and left. It's a good store. I'd come back again. (494)

Our fault, yes, however 1) why don't they have a protocol to go through items at drop off like a car salesperson reminds us to grab our garage remote. I was looking online to see if they carry converse, as I was looking for a pair of regular black chucks. When I entered the store there were tons of staff all over which is nice to see these days. I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. He asked who I was shopping for, I said myself and he asked me what size I wear and I said about a 9 in women's and he said "well this is men's" as if I was blind. Just didn't like the vibes all around.
