This location is large and very clean and organized. I usually shop online at DSW but often pick up from this location. I want to give a shout out to an employee named Rachel who took the extra steps when an incompetent co-worker refused to help me... I wanted to exchange a pair of shoes for the same ones in a different color and the other employee insisted they didn't have any other colors in my size. I proceeded to pull up the ones I wanted, showing as available on their site and she basically said she didn't care what I saw since she didn't find them. Rachel overheard and jumped in to help, offered to call a different location and then ultimately found the color I wanted in their system that was in fact available and ordered them to get shipped to my house. We are big fans of this DSW location. We come here often for our kids shoes. Between sneakers and boots, boys and girls, and the constant outgrowing, DSW solves a lot of problems for us. DSW's can be hit or miss and often a mess, but this location is nice and tidy. We have been able to find what we need on most visits, most recently looking for winter boots for my son - which was successful. What I really like is that they have mini shopping carts, perfect for little kids to push. Additionally, the staff here is pretty helpful considering this is a self-service store. read more

She goes to DSW, where she found these shoes the first time, and hopes to heck that they still have a similar style. Luckily, DSW delivered, and how! Not only did I find the perfect pair in my size on the clearance rack, I also found them in a different color on mega sale. I got two pairs of my favorite shoes for less than I would pay for one pair regular price! It made my day. I am having a Carrie moment. Great work on COVID protocols here as well overall--hand sanitizer is available at the entrance, employees wear masks, there's plexiglass at the checkout, and the aisles are clearly marked one way. I've been going here for years but this is the first time I've received such great service. One woman greeted me and asked if I needed help. I overheard another woman helping another customer so I asked her for help and it was like the service I used to receive from Daytons. People who really knew their product. This is a 'Shoes Heaven' in the Hopkins area and has a plethora of options to choose from for all ages. There's constant buzzing of people walking in which is a great sign. The store provides a seamless shopping experience with women shoes stacked from centre to the right most while the men's from centre to the left most and the far most on either sides have those tiny kids shoes of their respective genders. They have the high price range shoes on the front and as you go beyond to the rear end there are multiple discount range shoes. We have been here three to four times and have always been helped by knowledgeable staff who are always on the scout for knowing and serving to your needs. They have a variety of shoes of different colors and makes that will make it harder for you to choose. They also sell other stuff like hats for men, handbags for women etc. and their checkout lanes are pretty long some times but they check you out sooner anyway. I'm rating this review with a star lesser as the recent shoes that my wife bought only after trying them at the store hurt her feet, that she got injured left and right. Blonde manage wasn't friendly nor gave me time if day to listen. Other man at registar was unfriendly and not listening, wanted to rush me out. I came in about half hour before closing so i could exchange some shoes that didn't fit. I wanted to make sure I gave myself time to try on new ones to pick ones I liked. At about 10 minutes to close, I was approached by a staff member and was asked if I needed help. I said yes, I'd like to exchange these shoes and I'm looking for another pair. Instead of being offered help, I was told they close in 10 minutes and then the staff member walked away. I then felt very rushed and uncomfortable to continue shopping so I left. I heart DSW. I went there and found 3 pairs of shoes I could NOT live without. The selection is really unbeatable and the prices are awesome for designer shoes. I highly recommend snagging a salesperson to help you. The lady helping me found shoes that I would never have picked myself, but looked excellent on me. Their staff seems to know and love the shoe world. I even overheard two of them gossiping about the latest shipment...that's love. They also have a selection of purses/accessories. I find the purses to be less than thrilling, but every once in awhile you'll be able to dig out a saucy oversized pink clutch that you look fabulous toting around! If you have been searching for a brown pair of knee-high boots with 3/4 inch heel and a little bow...search no more. DSW has it all. Literally. I always head straight to the back of the store to check out the clearance section first; I've gotten some quality footwear inexpensively by raiding the discount section. This is one of the first places that I come when I want some shoes. They sell generic and name brands, so there is a little bit of everything for everyone. They have dressy shoes, boots, athletic shoes and accessories to go with them. I ended up with new workout shoes and a Nike workout bag for a great price. You can save even more if you join their shoe club for free. When my birthday comes around they send me coupons. The bigger name brands can still be a bit pricey, but the shoes last a long time if you take care of them properly. I really have no business or need to come here. Yet, I still do. While that is something that needs to be addressed by my shoe therapist, I will just review the store for now. Conveniently located next to Target, Cub, Tjmaxx and the TCF bank (in case you ran out of cash) this store is quite fabulous. Selection - Shoes...they have them. Fancy boots, booties, snow boots, uggs, extra ugly uggs, work shoes, pumps, glittery shoes for your friends wedding, extra high heel shoes for that night on the town when you make some bad decisions, but still want to look good, running shoes, walking shoes, comfortable shoes, flats to go out with the short boyfriend, shoes for the said short boyfriend. They have it all. They also have purses, wallets, some accessories and socks, in case you dont want to do laundry and need some clean ones. Service - friendly, not to pushy, but they try to sign you up for some rewards card i.e. a way for them to track your purchases. I think that its a bit creepy, so I try to avoid giving them my info. But there is some deal attached to that, so if you have a PO box and a fake ID it might be worth it. Other then that, the store is organized and easy to navigate. Prices - most of the shoes that are not on sale, are marked up a bit. You can try them on and go find them online for cheaper. The best deals are to be had in the clearance section, that's where I usually go. And I dont just go to my size, sometimes you can find something super cute and rare like a poetic licence pump in size 5.5 for $40. Take the shoe to the register and have them try to find it in other stores. If they have it, they can ship it to you for free. You have to learn the color discount scheme, purple is 70% and my favorite yellow is 80%, so watch out for those. So yeah, get your shoes on girls and boys! read more

What I really love about this location is that they have a large selection to choose from, they don't charge an arm and a leg for what you buy, they have a decent frequent shopper program and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) they don't have a childrens shoe section. Once I found a brand of shoes that fit me off the shelf I kept coming back to buy more and more of the same style of shoes. Staff will approach you and ask if you need assistance and once you decline they basically leave you alone. I like that once you say no to one staff person they all give you room to browse without other staff members coming up to ask if you need help. If you haven't signed up for their frequent shopper program you should as it is free and they send you coupons for money off your next purchase. Don't forget to check out the clearance racks at the back of the store for deeper discounts on the shoes that other shoppers have bought and returned. DSW stands for Designer Shoe Warehouse. But my question is... how many designer shoes that consumers would really want to purchase are in this Warehouse? These are not upscale designers, they are your basic designers that copy or give you look alike brands for less. Don't get me wrong, I do like the fact that they have shoes for every occasion and the locations are reasonable to get to especially if you need to make a quick stop and get a nice pair of shoes in a hurry. However, I do have a problem with the clearance section in the back of the store and really don't think that their clearance shoes are that much of a bargain. I would rather pay full price and get a better pair of shoes. Many of their full price shoes are almost the same in price as their clearance shoes. The full priced shoes are much better quality.. the clearance shoes look like they should be clearance and some of them look like they should be donated or even given away for free. Additionally, if you are a shoe-a-holic like myself, and providing Reviews on Shoes is part of what I do. Buying shoes from a Warehouse where the majority of people will shop may not always be the best thing. I do not want to show up at work or any place with someone that has on the same pair of shoes that I have on. I would recommend DSW if you're looking for a nice sandal or basic shoe, but not if you are looking for something extra special. I have about 2 or 3 pairs of DSW shoes and I have been happy with my purchase but I don't wear the shoes often because I know at least 30 people that have the same pair. Although that is perfect for business and Kudos to them for Marketing this product and getting everyone to run to the store and buy. But for that shoe Fashionista... They have a decent shoe selection and usually are able to find the correct size you need either online or in-store. Although I had a disrespectful encounter with one of the managers there (she was tall with blonde hair). I had an issue with a discount and the costumer service representative as well as the manager ignored my confusion and told me they would not take any discount off. Before I could even explain the manager had walked away while rolling her eyes at me. I did not talk disrespectfully to either one of them and had received nothing but poor costumer service on their side. Love this store where I can find great service and great deals on designer brand shoes. Even for me, a size 5 very small footed woman, I can find shoes. My best way of shopping the store since I am a size that is not carried in many of their shoes is to go to their clearance section in the back where they have some of the best prices I have found. I just want to give a quick shout-out to this place after a great experience today. I love this DSW - shop here every time I need new shoes. However, I picked up a pair on Tuesday for $80, only to realize they were clearanced online to $40 today. Big drop, right? I know most places offer price adjustments, but noticed DSW didn't seem to have a policy. When I showed up with my receipt today, I half expected a "Sorry, we can't do anything for you...online prices are different, we don't have a policy, etc. etc." Well, I think the gal was supposed to say most of that, but she provided true customer service, and recognized that it was a bad experience for me...especially considering only 2 days had lapsed since the purchase. She didn't press the issue, was friendly, and swiftly made the adjustment, refunding my card. I really appreciated it and left happy, knowing I'll be back to buy more shoes from them. read more

I always have positive experiences at DSW but today I felt like I received really great customer service from Henry. I feel like he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and I think it shows that DSW cares about customer service and their customers. I think there is a great selection at DSW and DSW prices are always lower than the retail price; the employees at the Knollwood Mall location are always friendly and upbeat and appear to enjoy working there which is nice to see. read more
