I have a diesel pusher MH and brought it in due to some damaged wires probably from Mice. Anyway, it had multiple electrical problems. Junior and Quince spent some time trying to sort out the issues. They believed the TCM had shorted out and required a new one to the tune of $2400 just for the part. But after I requested they look at the wires again they discovered another minor problem, that was fixed and the TCM began working which saved me $$$$ Junior and Quince thanks for your work and being HONEST with me. Not many shops seem honest anymore...but these guys were. read more

Update to review if you'd like your big standard Mac screwdriver that' was left on the electric full pump that was installed on my truck...that was not the issue...that now runs out of fuel at 1/4 of a tank, get in touch with me. $3000 and I'll give it back. Then I can get the money back on the parts that you just threw at it. Everyone that I knew went here no longer goes because the problem doesn't get fixed. Amateurs at best! read more

I personally do not recommend this shop and I would give it a 1 star rating for the following reasons: First, their website mentioned the owner to have served in the US Marine Corps. I'd say "Thank you for your service". However, this shop do not offer military/veteran discount off the final invoice, which, could run in the thousands. So why bother mentioning about the owner's military service in promoting the business? Second, I brought in my truck for cyl 3 misfire (P0303) and American Diesel replaced 3 fuel injectors, according to the invoice. However, after getting my truck back from the shop, weird things started to happen. First, the coolant was leaking from the top hose due to a loose clamp, which, I quickly fixed. Next, after driving about 20 miles, the check engine light came on due to an air intake issue. I popped up the hood and found that the MAF sensor was disconnected from the air filter. On the passenger side, I also discovered that the A/C sensor was also unplugged. Again, those were easy fixes by simply plugging the sensors back, but I was wondering why they were unplugged in the first place and if I didn't check under the hood, those sensors would have caused major issues in the long run. Third, after driving over 100 miles along I-15, my truck suddenly started to lose power and acceleration, so I had to exit the freeway then had the truck towed, this time to a different diesel mechanic. Run the ODBII and gave the same cyl 3 misfire code (P0303). The mechanic replaced the fuel injector and then showed me the bad injector, which, turned out to be the one that was "supposedly" replaced by American Diesel. So, I was thinking whether American Diesel installed a refurbished fuel injector, or just cleaned up the old one and installed it back then charged me the full-service price for the part and labor. I really don't like writing negative feedbacks, but, it is such a gut-wrenching feeling when you think that you paid hard-earned money, expecting for a quality service, but turned out to be a lousy repair job that could eventually cause more visits to the mechanic for the same issues. This is purely a dishonest practice and a BAD JUJU for the business to lose the trust of customers if they want to remain competitive. I would have given them a 3 star rating, but that's an overstatement so 1 star is what American Diesel deserved and I would never bring my truck to that shop again. read more

Dishonest Company. They claim to be veteran owned, but take advantage of veterans by adjusting cost at completion of the repair and without approval. Robert Schuman (owners son/not a veteran) is dishonest and takes advantage of his customers. read more

The guys at American diesel rocks!.. I've taken my diesel pusher and 61 Duramax powered Suburban to them for Is maintenance, generator issues and my truck being in safe mode. My truck was in safe mode turns out some rats chewed wires and they fixed it for a very reasonable price. Thanks AD!! read more

I'm not really one to write reviews. That said I have never been more disappointed in a business before. I understand it can take time to fix problems with a vehicle and sometimes the problem you fix doesn't fix the problem, but I have taken my truck back multiple times for the same problem. I ended up fixing the problem on my own. It was a bad Banks chip. In the meantime they sold me a new rear tank with a huge fuel capacity increase. Love it. The only problem was every time I filled iit up the fuel ended up on the ground because they couldn't get the tank they installed and repaired to not leak. They just kept saying it was an overturn valve on the stock tank but that didn't explain the brand new tank they installed was leaking as well. Now they did eventually fix the leak, but now the fuel gauge doesn't work on the new tank. Just reads empty. So no problem. Call them make an appointment. They tell me Friday is wide open So I drop off my truck in the morning assuming they will get right on it because I was told there wide open. Now it's 2:00 PM and there just now pulling it into the shop to see what's wrong, mind you the truck is still drivable, it's my daily driver. So they have basically taken my truck not worked and not worked on it while I have no vehicle to drive. Just not a good service shop and if I had a choice I would NEVER take my truck to be serviced there ever again. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!! I wish I could write a better review but ultimately out of all the places I've been this has been the worst shop I took my sister's truck here a year ago spent thousands on doing a bunch of front end and brake work/steering as they were moving to Georgia once they drove to Georgia All the front end ball joints and steering box were if it was done worn out already after one trip truck did not drive straight anymore/ steering was loose had to spend more money and get it all redone out there also found out one of the brake calipers was hanging loose but before, knowing all this, I decided to take my van that I use for work into the shop as I thought they did a good job until I was told by my sister what happened to their vehicle I took my vehicle in for a few codes and a leak. I think the diagnostic fee is a little high. I told them I use this vehicle for work. They gave me a date to drop it off and it took them four days before they even looked at it they did fix my leak and I thought they fix my other issues, but after only 30 miles the engine light came back on so I could not go and get it to Pass smog I told them this they told me to bring it back the next week. It took them another four days before they could look at it, which is ridiculous on top of that when I first picked it up, I complained to them about my coolant being overfilled, and that I had a rattling noise inside the engine bay, which was not there before, and one of my electrical wires was all a sudden rubbing against the engine pully/Belt. I fixed the cord, but when I took it back in the second time, I asked them to please correct those issues (coolant) (Rattle noise) that I found on top of that I know the coolant being overfilled may not be a big deal, but the gentleman I talked on the phone with which I can't remember his name exactly I think it is Nick was extremely rude to me trying to make me seem like an idiot just because I asked him to please correct the coolant level because it was not like that when I came in the first time, telling me that it doesn't matter where it's at. It's all fine. Even though it was literally filled to the brim Telling me I don't know how it works, I don't have to accept its fine when it is my vehicle and it didn't come in like that so I don't see what the big deal is if I asked to correct it ( they didn't correct it the 2nd time) anyway when I brought it the second time and they said they found nothing wrong. With the issues I saw after picking it up the first time. Which was ridiculous because it was 100% not like that beforehand and then they tell me the engine codes that come up now maybe 50 miles later are totally different from what I brought in there for which there was one code that was different, but the rest were the same. They wanted to charge me 250 each for each code to diagnostic which is insane because I already spent just shy of $3000 there and the only thing they fixed was the leak and gave me three more problems that I shouldn't have to take care of myself I decided to not continue with, having them look at my vehicle I usually work on my own vehicle but with work, I didn't have the time, but I was recently able to take this vehicle apart and figure out the issues on my own because I could not stand the noise of something rattling in my engine bay as I'm driving I recently found that a bracket for a black air box I believe it's a air recirculation box sitting on top of my engine is totally missing. A bracket and the one that is still there is completely loose missing a bolt so since I first took it to them now it's just sitting there rattling completely loose. There is my noise that I heard before that they couldn't find. I also noticed that Im missing the rings that tighten down, the intake tubes onto the airbox and goes to the turbo. It wasn't even connected to the turbo. It's just sitting there sucking in hot engine air the whole time so that's nice no wonder why I had a different code come up the second time I took it back because they didn't put anything back together. I will admit the lady at the front desk and I'm sorry but I forget her name was extremely polite and I know none of this is her fault, but I am extremely disappointed with the service at this shop. I feel like I just threw basically $3000 down the drain and they probably didn't fix anything except the leak the fact that I bring it back less than a week later and less than 50 miles later on the same issues and they want me to spend another $500 just to look at it when it's their fault that the light was on for something else. And the disrespect I felt from that employee would make me not want to go back there, even if they did a good job. I definitely don't recommend this place to anybody only go here if you want crappy work and crappy service And to blow money I feel robbed. Total crooks in my opinion. read more

I have a small fleet of delivery trucks. 7 trucks total. We do most of the simple repairs ourselves, oil changes, ect. I used The Truck Shop for most of my major repairs. I got referred to American Diesel by a RV shop for an overheating issue on my 06 Tiffin with a 5.9 24 valve Cummins. I've already had it to one shop and they couldn't determine the problem. Jr checked me in and I described the issue. I thought it was the mechanical fan clutch. They took over 2 weeks to look at it, but that's fine I know there busy. I went in after a couple weeks, talked to Jr. He said the tech took a look and said it got too hot, it had to have blown a head gasket. He quoted me $8000 for a head gasket! I disagreed with him, took it too Cummins in El Cajon. Turns out it was the mechanical fan, and no blown head gasket. So Jr was prepared to charge me $8000 for something I didn't even need. Chatting with him at the shop he seems nice, but overwhelmed and non-chalant. Told me he had another customer with a 07 LBZ Duramax that "ate a motor every 100k". They were putting in his 3rd engine. I have 2 lbz both with over 250k, they are known for being one of the most durable Duramax engines out there. My opinion, these guys will sell you on whatever is the most extensive job so they don't have to diagnose, just got wide with it because that will surely fix it. $8000 head gasket, that I didn't need. I'll never forget that. read more

They had a young technician do the work. The young kid, instead of just unscrewing the drain plug, went above the drain plug and broke off the connection to the engine. Somehow, it stayed until my next oil change when they told me that they would not change the oil because of the broken connection. It was close to a year later and I was told by a different repair service to take it to Colton Trucking in Colton, CA and they would repair it. Colton was able to put an extension on with epoxy, but service places still do not want to touch the drain plug as they are afraid that it will break off. Colton trucking charged me $750 to repair the plug. I could try getting my money back from American Diesel, but after all this time, they would say no. Just be aware that service people are often untrained in the basics. This was all very aggravating. read more

**TERRIBLE SHOP** Do not use! This place is a joke. I am done doing business with them, I'm $6000 in the hole, and my truck still runs like a junker after almost 5 months!!!. Please take my advice and go somewhere else. My advice is to go to the overly expensive dealership for repair, at least it will get done properly. American diesel used to be a good shop from what I understand but I have shared the crappy slow experience everyone is talking about getting from them now. I brought my truck in to be worked on at the beginning of may and it was there until the end of august... what the hell?!? Still broken btw. I ended up having to quit my job because they couldn't fix my truck and I didn't have transportation or a place to live for months because I'm not from around here. They have given it back to me twice saying it was fixed after thousands in repairs and it is still running terribly. One of the times it was given back still disabled, "repaired" as they call it, they didn't even change the clogged fuel filter that I brought it in SPECIFICALLY for. When I went to pick it up the first time I asked "so it's all good?" And the owner responded with "we fixed the fuel in the coolant and it's running". I naively took that as a yes, it's fixed and what he really meant was good luck with your broken truck. Such an obvious lack of care and effort. I have only received one phone call in the months it's been there, like I'm not paying them for their service. I should have been getting some kind of updates. I'm not even sure if they can call me because the secretary says that she can never find my number. Even though I've given it to them and verified it on multiple occasions. It's now the end of august almost 5 months later, I've given them lots of money. And my truck is still not running well. If I could go back and do things differently then I would either go to the dealership or trade my vehicle in for a new one. This place is just terrible all around. read more

In addition, the previous owner of the truck had installed a "kill switch" which became an electrical issue". BEWARE! First off I never write reviews but this one is unavoidable. I hope no one experiences what I have because of this shop. I had an Egr go out on my 6.0 Ford. American diesel said they would take car of it. The staff was friendly but never ever called me when they said they would. When it came to the truck it was water locked. And needed a new Egr. The work was done and I picked up the truck a few days later. I drove it less the150 miles before it lost power and died. Truck would no longer start hot or cold. I called them they instantly had a tow truck pick it up. 3 days later I got a call that 4 injectors are now bad. I told them you might as well change all of them. Another 3 days went by with no call. So I called and had it towed to a Ford store just because of the lack of communication. The Ford tech had it for a month Fixing various things causing a no start. Then told me all 8 injectors failed because American diesel messed up the fuel spring during assembly which made the truck loose fuel pressure and cause the injectors to fail. They broke my wiring harness for the glow plugs which caused a short. Afterwards I had to replace the wiring harness and the glow plug on cylinder 4. Now I am on my way to Texas (made it to Tucson ). A wrench light came on and then the check engine light came on. I found a great diesel shop that said the Wrench light is the oil cooler not properly functioning causing the oil temps to go too high which can cause complete engine failure. The turbo now has an under boost code caused from the coolant being redirected to the turbo during the failed EGR that lead to clogging the turbo veins. This was all caused because American diesel cut corners and did not do their ethical duty to do the right work the first time and it has not cost me in total $9,000 in two months which should have only been $3000 if it was done right the first time. Please take my advise and STAY CLEAR OF THOS SHOP! read more

We had to take our truck in SIX times to get the repair right. They were horrible about communicating updates and continued to return a truck that was still having issues. They replaced the transmission twice and put in a new transmission cooler before finding the correct problem to keep the transmission from overheating. It didn't end there... kept having issues. The owner was not apologetic. We were incredibly patient until the end and were not difficult customers but he seemed to blame the "bad relationship" on my husband. Such a huge headache!! We will never be using them again. *update 6/18- wanted to clarify that we worked a lot with a guy named Nick there who was very friendly and did his best to help us. Unfortunately we couldn't say the same for the owner of the shop and for the overall communication from the shop. However, Nick called us after everything to address some of our concerns and was very apologetic, admitted that the shop could improve on many areas, and validated our experience. He is their only saving grace. read more

I literally panicked! I own a small towing company. My 2012 Ford F-650 has never given me any problems, when the hydraulics stopped working, well I was basically out of business. I have towed several vehicles into American Diesel so I gave them a call. I know this store is extremely busy. When I called I explained my situation and they said bring it in. I pulled in, Jerry directed me into a perfect slot in their very busy shop. He went through its diagnostics, pin pointed it within minutes, fixed it and had me back to work. On Feb. 07, 2022, I paid American Diesel $20,283 to replace the engine. On 08/01/2022 they asked for another $1801 to replace the valve body. American Diesel replaced engine with Jasper engine. Jr. also suggested I replace the turbo. He said "it's not if, but when" it will go out. Said it would be cheaper now. They put in the wrong turbo, many wrong parts. This caused computer to send false signals of bad valve body. Numerous trips back and forth stating truck was done. Continuous problems... After 13-14 months they stated truck was finished. Terrible problems continued. Took truck to new shop. Discovered wrong turbo installed which caused all problems, including valve body. Very shoddy work, missing brackets, loose hoses and broken caps. Had to purchase another new valve body because American Diesel said they didn't have the codes, they discarded them..? According to transmission mechanics I've spoken with, you always log the codes. It's the only way to communicate with the engine. After new valve body instal, all questions were answered about American Diesel. Cost me an additional $8000 to get my truck back running with no further problems. Filed a complaint with Bureau of Auto Repair. American Diesel told them that I asked for that turbo??? Hello, I'm the consumer not the professional. At no time did I ever ask for that turbo. I didn't even think about replacing the turbo until Jr. told me I should because of the miles on the truck. This facility should not be in business. I'm sorry I learned the hard/expensive way. Yes, I could take them to small claims court and undoubtedly win. However, then you have to collect the money. In this state.....good luck. In my 57yrs I have never written or filed a complaint. There is so much more to this story. I brought in my 7.3 f250 because it would not charge .they had my truck for 4 weeks to replace and alternator and replace the batteries along with a new battery cable. Then they added a chip and new cold air intake . They was a short they said in the charging system and could not find it. They towed it to another shop . Every time I asked where they towed it I got no answer. If I wanted an update on my truck I had to call them . They never once called me first. They also offered me a Military discount . But never gave it to me. Instead I was told that owner never got a discount so why should they give one out! Yet they claim that they support the military and the owmer is a Marine they say? Must of forgotten what the term semper fidelis stands for. When I got the bill that I was told would be around $1200 . I was floored to see it jump to $ 3200 they replaced my brand new batteries (optima yellow top) and brand new alternator that I had tested just now and they all came back good ? I dont how reliable Oriellys Auto parts is . But they say they are all good. Yes my truck is running fine now. But why did it cost 2 times more then stated. Why tell someone you honor a military discount when you don't . And why replace good parts? My biggest issue is who is the shop that fixed my short . And why isn't there bill in my records ? No towing bill. No service bill. Here is the best part. The day I got it back I drive for 15 minutes and had to return it due to no charging still !!!! So they had it for 3 more days before fixing the issue! Beware if you go there . That's is fact! read more

We Drove Our Truck Home & It Broke Down On The Way Home. Cost Us More Money To Get It Towed To Another Repair Shop Where We Had To Spend Several Hundred More Dollars. Such A Let Down When We Called To Let Them Know & They Offered Nothing & No Sympathy.... Said It Wasn't Their Fault Or Problem. Our New Mechanic Found The Issue Immediately & Our Diesel Is Finally Up & Running Again. read more

I have used American Diesel to several times for unrelated issues on my 2011 Superduty. They have been honest and fair with their assessment and repair costs. Turbo went out and then transmission issues. I had them fix each issue with their recommendation. They answered questions honestly and did not get offended when I wanted deeper details into the issues. The owner has even called a few days after I got my truck back to check on how it was performing! Never had that happen with previous shops. Absolutely recommend! read more
