There is lots of parking around the stadium, and there is a city train and bus station literally right outside. While the exit process can be a cluster, the convenience of not driving a car here and not having to worry about parking can't be beat. It was great for us staying downtown. Plus, transit is free before and after events on certain routes. They do sell alcohol for non-university events, if I understand correctly, but I didn't verify. Our show did have alcohol available.

There are plenty of concessions available. The home games are VERY family-friendly. The main jumbotron is on the south end of the pitch, where the home team's boosters beat drums, sing songs and lead chants in support of the team. The home games are a lot of fun. They're even more fun at this moment, because the team is very good. The game against Houston Dynamo on July 3 put the team back into a virtual tie for first place in the Western Conference. And the post-game fireworks, during which they let the fans onto the pitch, were terrific. Real Salt Lake is Utah's only professional football team and its games are well worth attending.

They are always so very packed and there are a lot of passionate fans. The beers usually cost around $15. But this is normal for any type of event in Salt Lake. Even if you don't drink, this is a fun event for everyone, including kids! There are a lot of activities to do including roaming around shops, climbing a ropes course, riding the alpine slides, listening to live music, and eating German food. I tried the uber pretzel (Uber is the right word) and the German Chocolate Cake. Both were delicious! The beer experience here is also different, if you want to drink, you have to purchase a glass and the beer (2 different prices) and each time you refill your beer, you only pay the beer cost. They had 3 different sizes, 34oz (large stein), 22oz (smaller stein) and 16oz (glass beer can). Admission is free to get in and they are open between August to mid- October. Parking is $15 per car or you can reserve a space ok their free shuttle with pick up from the park and ride. Great experience overall and can't wait to go back!

General admission is free, and there is a donation jar near the entrance for anyone who would like to help support the planetarium. The exhibits were educational, engaging, and very interactive. We saw a model of Earth, looked at several types of telescopes, learned how tornadoes form, and explored a variety of hands-on games and activities. The moon exhibit was one of our favorite areas. We enjoyed learning about the moon in such a fun way, and getting to touch a real moon rock made the experience even more memorable. The upper floors also offered interesting exhibits about energy, space, and science. Unfortunately, a few of the interactive exhibits were not working during our visit, so I hope they will be repaired soon. Even so, we had an amazing experience, and I highly recommend the Clark Planetarium--especially for families with children. I paid $3.50 for an hour of street parking, but there is also a nearby parking garage. The shopping and dining area behind the planetarium was very convenient and only a short walk away. If you plan to stay longer or visit the surrounding shops and restaurants, the garage may be the better option.

That would make this spot even better, but my wife and I had a blast playing pinball, skee ball, Pac-Man, and Perfect Pour. Perfect Pour could have kept me busy for hours! That game was the perfect level of challenge and entertainment. Quarters has events, live music, and all kinds of cool stuff going on almost every day of the week. It's a pretty chill spot to have a few hours of fun, and you don't have to spend a whole lot of money to do it. Keep in mind that Quarters is 21+. It may be an arcade, but adults only folks!

The brick-and-mortar support for them. We've seen a few iterations of this over the last year or two in SLC, and this is another fine example. Of all the complaints people lodge against food trucks (and I'm not beating up food trucks--I love them), the fact that you don't have anywhere to sit is probably the biggest among them. It's really cool to see the Gateway solve this problem using the asset they have: space. The concept is this: use an empty store, fill it with tables and arcade games, and invite food trucks in to park nearby. People come to eat, have a (climate controlled) place to eat, and everyone wins. The space is fun. It's not overdone, but does have a large bank of tables and chairs, as well as a handful of arcade games to keep you entertained and occupied. It's directly adjacent to the fountain where the trucks park, so you're only a few paces off from when your grab your meal. I ate here a while back, and it was buzzing with other lunch-goers from around the area. It's a nice option, and certainly brings in more traffic than if you leave everyone to fend for themselves without seat, in the rain and snow.

With three days' notice, we received an email stating "we must reschedule your corporate event scheduled for September 15th due to unforeseen repairs to the track. This request comes from ownership." No alternate track, no effort to make it right -- just a 10% discount to reschedule, which is meaningless when your group is only in town for one window. I asked to speak with someone in ownership and was told the decision was final and beyond anyone's control. The front-line staff (Luna and Ian) were genuinely kind and did what they could, and I don't fault them at all. But a business that will drop a confirmed corporate booking at the last minute to save its own timeline isn't one I trust with an event that matters.

Night Lights hosts a lantern event at the Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC) three times a year. It's about a 45 min drive from SLC. The tickets sell out fast so I would recommend getting on the waitlist as soon as you know you're going to go. https://www.nightlightsevent.com/utah Pro Tip: If you're going to attend this event, keep in mind the following things. -Bring portable outdoor chairs and blankets. It's going to be a bit of a wait before the lanterns launch and you'll need to pick a spot in the crowd to set up a mini camp. Outside food and drinks are not allowed but they do have food trucks and s'mores kits onsite. -Group Setting. It's better to attend this event in a group (2+ or more) if you plan on lighting the lanterns. It's possible to light it yourself but it's quite a challenge if there are strong winds. -Dress accordingly to the weather and bring insect repellent. Depending on the area, there could be swarms of mosquitos and gnats. It will start off hot in the day but can get colder throughout the night. Some people will bring outdoor blankets. -Arrive early. Plan to arrive two hours early before the lanterns are lit up. This allows you to pick a spot to camp and get dinner from the various food trucks. -Central Location. When setting up camp, I would reccomend being somewhere in the middle of the lantern lighting area to maximize light impact. If you're located on the edges, then your pictures won't turn out as well in comparison to being in the middle. Even though your pictures will turn out better, you're also more at risk of breathing in the fire pit smoke and getting hit by the lanterns that are released by other groups. TL;DR (Beware) Central location = Better pictures, greater risk of breathing in black smoke and getting hit by fire-lit lanterns. -Dirty and Black Smoke. For those with asthma or sensitivity to smoke, I would highly recommend to skip this event. Night Lights sell "s'mores kits" which comes with a fire pit, a bag of marshmallows, box of Graham crackers, and skewers. These fire pits are fun BUT cause a lot of smoke in the area and can make it hard to breathe for some people. (See attached picture) -Allow the lantern to completely fill up with air before letting it go. There were soooo many people who released their lanterns too early and the lanterns ended up floating on the ground and almost burning people. I'm pretty certain some people may have actually gotten burnt but fortunately my group didn't get impacted and there was medical staff on-site. Overall, the pictures are memorable and the event turned out fun. I would recommend attending it at least once in your lifetime. Would you go? Let me know.
