It's tradition! We go once every year. It's expensive and crowded and parking is HELL... but its fun and entertaining! Plus we like to get the newest Stein every year! But don't make the mistake of actually waiting til October to go! We usually go in September, but one year we got too busy and they were out of that year's Stein by October.

Came here to experience October fest. It was really fun. Lots of food, souvinirs and, of course, beer. I look forward to coming back to actually ski.

Food flavor this year was heavily on the bland side. Prices went up $.25 - $1.00 on some menu items. Not sure what happened the cooks, the food was more cafeteria tasting than in the previous years. At least the chocolate cake was pretty delicious and forgot to take a picture of it.

So fun this year. We have been in years past but I feel like this year topped it off. The music was awesome. Traditional German theme topped off with the lederhosen. They had super fun dancing, kids games, and adult games including hamershulagen and a super fine game with hard boiled eggs. I would like to point out the fact that I won the hamerschlaugen and won a free tram ride. I would show you my but I don't want to rip my shirt... The beer is expensive but you just have to expect that with events like these. If you want to be cheap just go buy some chips from the vending machines. They also have a bunch of vendors which is fun to look around. Check it out.

What can I say but "good memories" about this place. Come for a good time, fresh air, delicious food, and great people. We come every year and it never lacks in excellent mountain ambience. There are lots of kids activities, as well as great German food. Take the tram up to hidden Peak and you will not be disappointed. The only issue is price, everything is pretty pricey, so don't expect to spend a dollar or two.

Oktoberfest is an incredible experience and I hope everyone decides to go at least once. I do think there is a good amount of pros and cons to Oktoberfest but I still think it is a really cool event. First, I will make the same complaint that everyone else makes. The cost here is ridiculous honestly. It's a free event but you have to pay $10 for parking. I understand the concept behind this but I think it is pretty difficult to park at the bottom of the mountain and rely on the trolley. Especially if you're like me and had somewhere to be after. Now for a good thing about the event, I do appreciate the staff involved. The parking lot people were nice, the bus drivers were nice, and I really appreciated the security people checking everyone's bags at the front. Really, the staff was awesome. Another con is another thing with the price. Once you get inside the event, you will notice how jacked up everything is. The beer is $10 but also you're going to need some kind of goblet to hold the substance in so you need to pay another $10-$15 for that. Both are pretty unreasonable prices for what you're getting. I get it's a cool souvenir but it still isn't worth the price. In addition, any other merchandise you want to get is going to run you yet another crazy price--the most basic shirts would run you about $40 a piece. I got thirsty and thought about getting a bottle of water but I couldn't justify paying $5 for dasani out of all brands. Now for another pro (I am really trying to keep this review balanced here lol), the amenities are incredible. They have a wide variety of food and it's almost hard to choose just one or two places to eat. They have all kinds of German based dishes but they also have your classic American foods and drinks. They have local vendors, they have Snowbird staff, they have Snowbird activities. It really is an incredible place with all kinds of things to see and do. Another con coming up...the food was not all that great. Generally, I love the dishes they were serving but when you get it at Snowbird, I find it to be very mediocre. I got a bratwurst and it was okay but just had a weird flavor and texture to it (and again, I like bratwursts generally so this isn't any kind of weird bias against the food itself). Also, the bratwurst was so big that the bun was pretty much pointless and I didn't even eat it with the sausage lol. For my drink, I got the pumpkin beer and lemme just say...it didn't taste like pumpkin at all. I don't know what made them call it a pumpkin ale because you cannot taste it whatsoever lol. I also didn't know that there was free whipped cream so I would definitely get that next time. Many people were getting the garlic fries, they looked and smelled so good that I decided to buy me some. The garlic fries were one of those things that didn't taste nearly as good as they smell. They tasted very bland but I will say the texture wasn't all that bad. I wasn't a fan of charging money for sauces just to fill the cup up 1/8 of the way but I did appreciate the fry sauce. I still stand by what I said and still think Oktoberfest is an incredible experience. I do plan on going next year but I am bringing my own cup and going on a day that I have less of a time crunch so I can hopefully put $10 towards anything but parking in a spot. Cheers!

    Prost!

In a good year, the weather is good, and there is a grass area to the East with beer service and games to play.

The minute I waked in it smelt so amazing. It was very inviting. There were hundreds of trees all decked out for purchase, as well as Nativity sets, wreaths & quilts. There were rally neat Gingerbread houses and a small area to buy crafts, as well as the sweet section to purchase yummy treats. This is a short 4 day event where you can buy the trees or other items up for purchase. Trees ranged from $200 up to one I saw was $8k! On Thursday the second day of the event most trees had already sold. Many trees were honoring deceased love ones, and had really special tributes to things they liked... biking, toys, etc. it felt really special. They had choirs performing as well as instrumental performances on two serrated stages. Entrance was $10 on Thursday and at 11am it was quite crowded actually. I purchase a ticket in advance and scanned my phone at the door to get in. Easy breezy. Parking was a bit crazy but I just ended up driving over to where it wasn't so hectic and people weren't fighting for spots. Would love to visit this again next year!

I've been coming to America First Field (formerly Rio Tinto Stadium, affectionately known as "The…read moreRioT") for Real Salt Lake MLS games for over six years now, and it's always a fun experience. The stadium has a great soccer vibe, and the unpadded plastic seats are comfortable enough to enjoy the game for a few hours. There are plenty of snack and drink options, though be prepared for the typical stadium prices that are on the high side. If you're flexible, waiting for last-minute seats can sometimes score you a bargain, which is always nice. The stadium does have some accessibility challenges for ADA and wheelchair users. There's only one place to store mobility scooters, so if your seats are on the opposite side of the stadium, it can be quite a trek. It definitely helps to have someone with you. I had to ride and drop my mom's scooter when the two of us went to a Real Salt Lake game last summer, which was a bit cumbersome but still manageable with planning. The stadium is well laid out and there isn't a truly terribly seat in the whole venue. It's designed perfectly so it's easy in and easy out, and I have zero complaints about the game day experience over the years. The team store is terrific as well, with tons of great merchandise if you need to get outfitted as a fan. While the name is now pretty generic and boring, America First Field is a solid spot for MLS soccer. It captures that local soccer energy perfectly, and I always have a great time cheering on Real Salt Lake despite the minor accessibility hurdles and pricey concessions.

We got front row parking and everyone was so nice and helpful in the entrance we went in. They have some really good food/drink options at the stadium like jdawgs and fizz as well as the basics (churros, kettle corn, pretzels, etc). My one big complaint is that all their sodas are in plastic bottles rather than the fountain much I would prefer. I would also recommend sitting on the west side of the stadium to enjoy the Mountain View's. Absolutely stunning. Also the Royals won!!! Wooo!! Go Royals!
