I had the most amazing experience with Amelishan Bridal! The warm welcome from the front desk when I walked through the doors was just the beginning. My stylist, Courtney, truly made the experience Magical. I had been to 3 bridal shops prior to this appointment and I was honestly feeling defeated like I'd never find "the dress". However, Courtney took her time to really get to know me, my fiancé, and my overall wedding vision to help pull dresses that were exactly what I was looking for, not just dresses to waste my time. I paid for the vip bridal experience which is already frustrating. I did not find a dress here and was not impressed with the bridal consult. She was acting like I was the problem and that I was just being too picky. This is my wedding dress I think that is allowed. I have some photos uploaded but personally know of the dresses worked for me and if you are petite I would not recommend here as the dresses are all alot larger. Not one dress fit me or even close. I had heard of Amelishan from a Facebook brides group and wanted to give it a whirl.  I actually live out of town (now) so I wanted to make sure the stores my mother and I went to had the dresses I was looking for that met my style and ideas.  When I made the initial request online, the questionnaire asked for my pinterest board link as well as my vision.  I didn't really have a vision but sure did have a pinterest board. We had the first appointment of the day and were greeted to a perfectly pristine, well decorated store. We were told we could look around a bit as we had arrived a little early.  While perusing, I noticed the perfect dress from across the room. It was lacey and blush/ivory in color.  Then my bridal stylist Jenna came up and introduced herself. She mentioned after looking at my pinterest board, she had found a dress that she thought really fit my board pictures and style. What do ya know? It was the dress I had spotted from across the room. After trying on my perfect dress, I wanted to try on a few more to make sure.  I even went to another store and continued to dream about my perfect dress at Amelishan and my perfect stylist had found for me. Sometimes, when you put on a dress and you feel emotional about it, you know it's the one. I was extremely impressed with the fact that my stylist (Jenna) had taken the time to get to know me, my style, looked at the pinterest board, and researched dresses she thought I would like.  The prices are reasonable. The dresses are out of this world.  After purchasing my dress, they provided me with a list of seamstresses for alterations.  They were all very professional, with availability thankfully. read more

I went in wedding dress shopping, not knowing what to expect. This was my first time, and I didn't know what I wanted. I scheduled my appointment through their website, because I've heard nothing but great things about this shop and wanted to check it out. First interaction with the shop was a confirmation e-mail about my appointment, immediately followed up with a phone call. Their customer service is phenomenal! I was told exactly what to expect before arriving (because ya kno, Covid). When I got there, I was immediately welcomed and brought to sit all nice and cozy to wait for my stylist. I arrived a bit early, so I expected to wait awhile. I don't live in the area (came from Appleton) so I didn't want to be late. My stylist came over, and we did a consult. She asked anything and everything to try and help me out. She also stayed strictly within my budget, and didn't push me to try anything on that wasn't in my price point. -- that was my favorite part. From my experience with planning the wedding, there is a lot of pushiness with some vendors and stores to try and push you to spend more.. and more... and more. But, not here. I wasn't liking anything that I was trying on. I should mention that I'm a very short, plus sized woman (and very particular with what I like on my body). But that didn't stop my stylist from being so sweet and optimistic. She was determined to help me find something that I fell in love with. After trying on at least a dozen dresses, another employee brought me over a tiered ballgown. My stylist told me that this dress was double my budget.... but I of course just HAD to try it on. Note to future brides: Don't try anything on that you aren't willing to pay for lol I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with this dress... even though it was over what I wanted to spend. I tried on a few more dresses.... but kept going back to 'the one'. As I battled with myself on how much I was going to spend on a dress that I would only wear for one day, my stylist gave me my space. There wasn't a single moment where I felt pressured or uncomfortable, and that is what makes this shop stand out to me above the rest. I have been in over a dozen weddings, and have had good and bad experiences across the board with different shops/stylists. I don't have a single bad thing to say about Amelishan and their staff. So, I ordered it. I was in-between 2 sizes, 18 and 20. It was made very clear to me that choosing the size to order was up to me because I know my body best. I'm still waiting for my dress to come in, but can't wait! I wish that I could remember my stylist's name, but I'm so much better with faces than names! The whole set up of this place is uninviting from the get go. I started my appointment with the sales associate telling me I had 5 min to look around and pull dresses....um....5 min!!!! Needless to say I felt rushed form the get go and it never got better. Once you have a dress on you stand int he middle of the room in a circle next to other brides and their guests. It makes for a non-intimate and uncomfortable atmosphere. The bride next to me kept asking to try on my dresses in which her sales associate would go into my dressing room and take the dresses from my room. The sales associate did not take time to pin my dress correctly and multiple times I had to ask her to fully zip me or clamp the dress so I could at least walk out in it. I would skip this place and head to Stone Manor in Grafton, WI. read more

I'll start with the positives: great selection of designers and dresses.. that's it. Terrible location. Terrible service. Rude employees. Dresses are extremely overpriced. They don't allow you to take pictures of the dresses which really put a damper on my experience because I was hoping to get feedback from my bridesmaids who couldn't be there. Unfortunately they couldn't make the trek to the middle of freaking nowhere to go to this place. Even when I had it down to 2 dresses and said I was going to buy one of them they wouldn't let me. They also rip all the labels out of the dresses so you have no idea who the designer is. If you have to go to these extremes to prevent people from buying a dress they find with you elsewhere, clearly you're doing something wrong. If you provide great service and price your dresses competitively people won't even THINK of buying it elsewhere. So I fall in love with the dress, and decide to buy it despite the terrible experience at the store. They bust out a size chart and decide that according to my measurements I should order a size 12 dress. I know sizing is whacky but I am a size 4. Also the sample I tried on was a size 10 and too big! They said "well that one is stretched out" and it's based it off your largest measurement, which is my hips.. but this was a ballgown silhouette so that just makes no sense. I debate these points with them for a good 20 minutes until they finally scare the crap out of me enough to just go with the size they recommended based on their "experience and expertise" with this designer. I leave the store and look up the dress to discover that they had it marked WAY up - $400 more than another local shop. Awesome. Finally, the dress arrives and it is gigantic. At least 3 sizes too big. They had to do 3 separate rounds of alternations which ends up costing me another $350ish. I think I understand now why they were so set on having me order the size 12... The alterations lady was nice and I don't think it's her fault, but because the dress was taken down so many sizes the seams just didn't line up right. At that point I was sick of driving out to this godawful place and just said "screw it." Obviously, I won't be going there again and I'd recommend that you don't go either! read more

Weddings can be stressful. If you are looking to add on to that stress than look no further. You will have your groomsmen suits at the very, very last minute, you will have certain groomsmen who have to make extra calls to ensure that they receive their suit. You can tell them as many times as you want who will come and get the suits, and they will forget, leading to lots of phone calls, stress, miscommunication, and gaslighting/rudeness from customer service on the day before your wedding. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Bar none the worst place to get your groomsmen taken care of. Wish I could get my money back. read more

BEWARE. My daughter went in for a bridesmaid dress appointment. She was not able to see the dress at the time, just for in for ordering. The "expert" measured her waist, hip and chest areas. My daughter asked if she should remove her bulky hooded sweatshirt and the "expert" said no that it was ok to leave it on. The measurements were then compared to the designers chart and the the "expert" said she fell at a 10. Now if you ask the manager Kat, the "experts" do NOT "recommend" sizes they only tell you were you fall on the chart. Right. So my daughter, normally a size 2 was ordered a size 10. Now we understand most dresses run small so upsizing is common but from a 2 to a 10. Fast forward to pick up day. The dress was not tried on at pick up and the receipt indicates NO exchanges or returns. The dress was tried on and literally fell to the floor. So now a $280 that is ginormous. We located a seamstress that use to work for Amelishan. She said this size was absurd. She took in 1 1/2" on both sides and it is still too big. She indicated that she pretty much ripped the dress apart and resewed the entire thing. Guess what, it was still too big. So we are at $190 in alterations and not done. We contacted Kat, and while she was polite, she indicated that it was my daughters choice to order a 10 and that their "experts" do not recommend sizes only measure. Well I guess they cant even to that. Kat indicated there was nothing the store could do for us. Remember no returns no exchanges. So beware, you are on your own when going to Amelishans and ordering a size as their "experts" only measure, kinda. read more

Plus size brides - please read. I am plus size and shopping for my wedding gown gave me anxiety. It is hard enough to find clothes sometimes as it is and finding a wedding gown was daunting. Added to that, my mother who lives out of state had only one request - she wanted to go with me to find my wedding dress. That meant that I was trying to find my dress in the short time that she was able to visit this summer. And, I was shopping for a dress with a $1500 budget - one that I soon found may add even more stress to the search. My first round of shopping I headed to Madison - starting at Vera's Bridal, Beautiful Brides and David's Bridal. The day went from amazing to disaster. I posted specific reviews of each - but just know that Vera's was really great, but not concerned of my budget, Beautiful Brides made me feel anything but Beautiful and David's Bridal was just a joke. After coming home to re-group, I made an appointment at Amelishan Bridal on a Sunday. I debated going there myself because of the issues on the previous trip - but ended up calling my mom and maid of honor to go with. I am so glad I did. This experience is how is should be to find a gown. I shared with the consultant my previous experience, my preferences and my vision for the wedding. This was the only place I went that I could actually look at the dresses on the racks and say yes / no to trying them on. They even have sample dresses that I could have purchased in my size. We grabbed a few to try on. In the regular area - there is section for plus size dresses - with lots of them marked with a special tag indicating $1000 or less. Me and my Maid of Honor picked dresses out. There was a dress on a mannequin that I liked - and right there she took it off and put it in the rotation to try. The consultant was really nice and I ended up finding two dresses that I could see myself walking down the aisle in. Though a separate company, they have alterations on site and they helped me understand the cost / look of adding sleeves and a corset back to my dress. It was simple, comfortable and I walked out knowing I made the right purchase. Hands down, give them a try ladies... I don't know how the rating is so low for this place. Side note: I have had to call to confirm a purchase for additional fabric and we stopped in to shop a sale - and still have had great service. read more

I wasn't from the Milwaukee area, and I went searching for a prom dress. I saw the two star review and thought I shouldn't try but three other bridal stores (that didn't sell prom dresses) and they all recommended Amelishan, despite it being half an hour north. Therefore, I decided to check it out! A GREAT DECISION. The dresses are gorgeous, sorted by sleeker and poofy princess dresses, then by size, then by color. Well organized, helpful, kind staff everywhere, and no shortage of people to help. Nice building and fitting rooms. Also, if you like them on instagram and facebook, they give you a free purse. Matching jewelry was discounted with purchase of one of their gorgeous dresses. Garters in many colors. Would buy another dress there in a heartbeat!! read more

My first memories of Amelishan Bridal were from high school. Practically everyone used them as a go-to spot for prom dresses. Walking in, they had an extensive selection of prom, bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride and special occasion dresses. After shopping around and looking at pricing from other stores, including Boston Store, they were competitive to low. The materials were higher quality over many of the other dresses, giving them a much more finishes and elegant look. Further back is the bridal zone. They have hundreds of dresses, including clearance and off-rack pricing. The consultant I worked really loved her job and was happy to show me anything I like. I let her choose a few of her favorites as well. After much deliberation, I did order a dress based on measurements and a color swatch. I've never done anything like this before, but she was confident it would arrive in time. My dress arrived early, and a perfect fit. It was offered in petite so I did not need a single alteration. The consultant that helped me with the final fitting and the pickup was also extremely helpful and we had fun trying on several headbands to see if any were the right "statement piece". Everyone was warm, helpful and made me feel comfortable throughout the fitting and purchase process. I am sure I will return the next time I am in the market for a special occasion dress. Fun Fact: It isn't just dresses; they also have menswear, accessories, shoes and bridal rentals (card boxes, birdcages, etc.). You also get a discount if you purchase your dress on the first visit and receive savings on any other accessories too if you join their loyalty club. read more

There was not one part of my experience at Amelishan I would change. I was a bit nervous going in-I'm not sure why. Maybe I thought I wouldn't find what I wanted. Anyway, as soon as I was greeted by Michelle R., (there are two Michelle's) I was glad to be there. Michelle told my mother and I that she was there to help me find my dream dress, she does not work on commission, so she just wanted me to be happy. I gave Michelle pictures and style numbers of dresses I found online and she began pulling them. She had a new employee shadowing her and I had no idea it was just her first day. She was wonderful and so helpful. After pulling about ten dresses, my mother sat down, and I began trying them on. The first one was a dud, but the second one was outstanding. I loved the dress. I forgot to tell Michelle my price range, but the dress I chose was $1200 less than my budget! I was so thrilled and comfortable with the entire experience. I purposely chose a bridal shop in Wisconsin because I live in Chicago and taxes are so high. I also have a general feeling of being charged more just because it's Chicago. My experience with Amelishan and Michelle R. was very different from the one at Eva's Bridal in Chicago. What a relief. I can't wait for my dress to arrive and I'm even more excited for my wedding now that I have a great dress. read more

I'm really surprised at all of the negative reviews for this bridal store because our group had a great experience. My bestie came here a week prior and had found two dresses she really liked. She also took a quick glance at the bridesmaid dresses and thought it would be a good place to look, so she made three appointments for the day: her mom, herself, and the bridesmaid group. First up was her mom, so while she did her thing, the other bridesmaids and I perused the rack of bridesmaid dresses. We had liked a dress we saw at a store in Chicago, and heard that this place carried that brand. However, we could not find it, mainly because, as other reviews stated, they cut the tags off so you can't see who the designer is. I have no idea why they do this. Maybe they don't want you comparing prices between stores? The bride and one of the bridesmaids went to a store the day before to look at bridesmaid dresses and found two they really liked and heard Amelishan had them as well. Luckily, the other store gave them the designer info and website so they could look at them online, so we were all able to see what the dresses looked like and easily found them on the racks. Since our appointment wasn't for a few hours, we grabbed the two dresses, plus two other possibilities, and set them aside on the rack so we could get them later. It was very busy while we were there, and consultants were going back and forth, but not once were we told to get out of the way or that we couldn't look at the rack if it wasn't time yet, so that was appreciated. Next up was the bride's turn to try on her dresses. We went toward the back of the store and sat and watched as she modeled the dress. The consultant worked with her for about an hour on belts and accessories. She was great about showing us all the different options and let us take as many pictures as we wanted. She finally said yes to the dress, so while she was getting measured and doing the paperwork, someone in our group suggested that we skip lunch and just keep going and do our dresses next. We were hungry, but we agreed to do that and the consultant said that was fine. She said she would be right with us to get a room. We waited about half hour before we decided to just try on the dresses without her. Yeah, we went rogue but we kinda wanted to get out of there. We had four bridesmaids and four dresses already picked out, so we just put them on. When the bride came back to get us, we already had them on so we kinda just did our appointment in the bridal area. Oops? We knocked out two dresses right away and were deciding between two. We picked one and then had to decide on color, which is a little hard when you don't know if a color you liked on a rack will come in this dress since you don't know the designer. I guess since we picked the dress, we were able to see the color swatches. We picked a color and then got measured. The process to get rung up and get out of there took for-ev-er. We understood that they were being thorough, but we were so hungry and just wanted to leave. In the time it took to ring up four bridesmaids, the bride's mom was able to take another look at dresses, find one she liked, get accessories, and say yes to her dress. It was nice that they let her do all of this even though it had been a couple hours since her appointment time. I think we kinda took over the store in that way but hey, no one said anything. The consultant read us our measurements and showed us where we fell in terms of size. We were all in between sizes so it was up to us to pick whether we wanted to go higher or lower. She then entered it in and then went through each point in the contract. Yeesh. The nice thing is that you can pay half when you order it and then pay the other half when you come to pick it up, so you're not dropping your whole paycheck at once. Finally we got out of there and everyone had a dress. Hooray! Other pros: the dresses were reasonably priced. Sure our dresses were a bit much for my price range, but they did knock off $30 since the bride got her dress there, so that was nice. She got her dress for a steal. I also saw other bridal gowns that were on the lower price end too, so if you have a smaller budget, you do have a chance of finding something. There was a guy passing out chocolates so props for that. A few cons: We were really dehydrated by the end of the day and no one offered us water, yet I saw other people with little water bottles. We had to go ask for it before we got anything. They have prom dresses, but damn are they pricey. And ugly. But that's the style nowadays I guess so that's not really their fault. Full disclosure, in the end I did not purchase my wedding gown from Amelishan. That being said, I loved my experience here. My consultant Lauren was the best. She was very sweet, and listened to thing that I was looking for in a dress. She was not pushy and really just wanted me to find the dress that made me happy. As a plus size bride there were plenty of dresses for me to try on, and I felt like I was in good hands with Lauren. I cannot say enough nice things about her, and the store as a whole. As a groom, I have to say that I had an excellent time interacting with Amelishan for the past several months. I've been to the shop multiple times, from initial planning, to measurements to pick-up and more. Every time I stepped in, the staff was enjoyable and knowledgeable. I really came to look forward to my trips to Amelishan. My groomsmen felt the same way. Their communication was strong with me and my party, which is particularly helpful with the amount of out-of-state people I had involved. Frankly, I'm baffled by the more critical reviews I've seen on Yelp. I'm sorry people felt unsatisfied, but that was not at all the experience I had, that my bride had, or that my groomsmen had. I had an appointment on Saturday, 29Jan2022, at 1 pm. I was traveling from Madison to Amelishan to see a very specific dress, MJ574. I'd listed this dress in my appointment request. I'd gotten a reminder email for my appointment, a reminder text, and even received an appointment reminder phone call on Thursday prior to the appointment, at which point I confirmed again that the dress I wanted to see was in fact available in store and that I'd be able to try it on when I arrived on Saturday, and I was assured yes, it would be there. Saturday comes and my mother (who'd driven down from northern Wisconsin just for this appointment) and I head for Amelishan. We arrive at 5 minutes to 1 pm and check in. My consultant comes over and introduces herself and asks if I have an idea on what sort of dresses I want to see. I tell her I'm there for one specific dress, and she got very quiet. The store had SOLD THEIR SAMPLE DRESS about an hour before I'd arrived. Despite my being assured it would be there for me to try on. I should have demanded to see the manager right then and there to have them explain how it was that the dress was not held aside for my appointment, knowing I'd requested it, or at bare minimum why I was not notified as soon as it was sold, so I could have saved myself the gas and time of driving all the way there for absolutely nothing. I did try on a couple dresses, but their idea of "similar" styles to the dress I wanted were about as similar as oranges and Brussels sprouts. The only solution they could even sort of offer me was to try and get a loaner dress, which if they could get it would arrive end of February, and they said they'd have to charge me 100 dollars for that. As far as I'm concerned, that's utterly unacceptable. Saying they'd have to charge me a cent when the store made the mistake is just downright rude. If you actually expect them to follow through on a promise of anything, I wouldn't waste the time. read more

The experience started out pretty well. I ended up going back a second time to confirm the purchase, we didn't purchase after the first visit but then ended up going back. Just wanted to be sure that was the bridesmaid dress we wanted. Each sales person told us something different. A manager was suppose to call me back 2 different times about a 40 dollar rush fee that we were told would be taken off. They seem to just tell you anything to get you off the phone or to get you to buy the dress and leave. If a sales person doesn't know the answer I would have been fine with them telling me that and having them ask someone else. Very disappointed in how they handle things there. read more

We had a group of 6 shop with my daughter in Dec. 2019. We were all very impressed with the selection, expertise of the consultant, and the cleanliness. Once she chose her dress they made it a very special celebration with non alcoholic sparkling juice. They advised us the dress would take up to 6 months. And even with the Covid it arrived in a little over 5 months. We went yesterday for her first fitting. We were only allowed myself and my daughter. The dress was perfect. My only disappointment was that they do not do any alterations, so will need to seek one out. read more

I had my appointment on their big sale day, which was packed with brides, but my consultant NEVER made me feel rushed or anything, every dress she brought me was better than the next. They all looked great but I was still looking for "the one" I asked her if I could just try on ONE more and she came back with MY DRESS!! We came in in August very close to my wedding day. We were prepared for a rush order due to the timing of things. I was put in a dress I liked a lot and did the whole "yes" thing. However, after all of that happened we found out the dress could not be ordered in my size because they didn't have it in stock for a rush. Very disappointing but fine. The associate told us that a larger size (6) was available and that is should fit just fine with alterations. It wasn't a concerning amount. Well, we got the dress and it was big as expected; however, it was MUCH bigger than expected. During alterations we ended up taking in 3 inches on each side for the bust. We were told it would only be 1.5-2.0 inches on each side. The dress just kept adding up and up. With the rush, the price was over budget already, but the additional alterations because the dress was just huge - needless to say, not ideal. The staff was nice, but looking back I don't feel like I was being "cared" for - they just wanted to make a sale instead of another apt. To find a dress that would actually work for me and my timeline. The veil was beautiful, the dress was too. I just don't think they really cared or knew how different the dress really was from my size (they kept saying it would be fine, but my seamstress even said it was extreme) and how much this would all cost. read more

If I could give zero stars for quality of dresses I would. The people were very nice and helpful with my daughter while she was buying the dress, however the spaghetti straps literally broke and the dress fell off of her on her prom night. When one pays over $300 for a dress that is going to be worn one time, that is quite upsetting. I understand that unfortunate things happen that are nobody's fault, however when I called the store asking for a partial refund, the manager claimed that there was nothing she could do. Upon saying how unhappy I was with her business she offered to refund me $30 and then later $50. Clearly, as the manager, there were things that she "could" do, but chose not to. I explained to her that the amount of a refund she was finally offering, was not sufficient given the situation and the original cost of the dress. I would NOT recommend shopping here for your special occasion! read more

I was absolutely not expecting to be writing a review for Amelishan Bridal that has a rating of one star (although I would give zero if I could), as one of my closest friends who is also a bridesmaid in my wedding bought her gown here and had a great experience. Well, my experience left not only a lot to be desired, but I truly am not sure if I have had as awful customer service or been treated so horribly at another establishment in my entire life. So, to start off, my appointment was at 2:30pm at Amelishan. I arrived a few minutes early and it took a couple minutes for someone to help us as the woman at the front desk was on the phone. Finally someone came to assist and I informed them that I was there for my appointment. My consultant was still with her previous appointment, so I was told I could look at dresses while I waited. This honestly didn't bother me. Since I have been to a few appointments, it sucks when you are rushed out, so I'm sure the bride-to-be before me was appreciative of the extra time. So, while my friend and I waited, we basically pulled every dress in the place I wanted to try on, so once my consultant was ready (30 minutes late), it was right into the dressing room. I started trying on dresses, and after 4, tried on one that I really like. It was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, my family doesn't live in the same state as me, so I wanted them to be able to see it. The dress I tried on was WAY too small for me, so it was hard from pictures for them to get the idea of what it would look like in the back. I asked what designer the dress was by so I could send the name to my family and they could view it. I was told that they don't give out designers, which I thought was a little sketchy. I've been to 6 different bridal shops and every single other one was completely open about designers. But at this point I wasn't discouraged. I moved on from that and asked if they at least had a picture of it online (i.e. on their website or just a jpeg) that I could send over to my family. I was again told no. At this point I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to buy a dress without my family seeing it so I asked them what my options were and they told me I could try on a different dress that may be similar in a bigger size take a picture on my phone and send that picture (of this random different dress) to my family. This really wasn't what I was trying to get at. I just wanted my family to see the dress before I bought it. As I stood there, another woman that works at Amelishan came over and joined my consultant and un-prompted started telling me about how they do this to protect themselves and so many times they have seen where someone gets a digital picture of the dress and goes to China and has a replica made. Ummmmm, what? This thought had never crossed my mind. They went on and on about this to the point where I felt attacked. Maybe they did not intend to do this, but I truly felt as though they were accusing me of doing something which I had no intention of doing. They kept on harping on it over and over again. Keep in mind, at this point I am up on a pedestal, in a wedding dress (that does not fit me right) being lectured at. I finally just had so say, "I'm going to go change out of this" to get them to stop. They didn't seem to feel bad at all about the fact that they weren't helping me. In the dressing room (sadly I now had to receive help out of the dress from the consultant), I said to her that they were making it next to impossible for me to purchase a dress from them and she didn't even seem to care. It really seemed like the didn't even want my business, didn't care if they made me feel like crap, and were happy to be rid of me. Well, that's exactly what I did, I walked right out the door and will not be back. Even though it was the perfect dress, I will not be supporting this business in anyway. I have since bought a wedding dress elsewhere and have been to a number of bridal shops and have to say my overall experience at Amelishan was the absolute worst one I had. Not only did they make me feel that I was being accused of something that I was not trying to do, but the people I encountered there were incredibly rude. At other bridal shops I have been to, it was truly an enjoyable experience where I felt like the consultant I was working with was genuinely excited for me and wanted to help me find the dress of my dreams. At Amelishan, that absolutely was not the feeling I got. I felt as though no one there really cared how I felt and they were fine if I found a dress or not. Additionally, the fact that they not only refuse to tell what designer a dress is by, but actually go to the length of removing all tags and adding their own tag without a designer on it, is just incredibly sketchy. read more

After looking at almost 10 other stores I found the perfect dress here. However, I really wish I found it from another location as I had one problem after another. The apt was for 1pm on a Sat., and we had to wait for the consultant for almost an hour. They pair you up with a specific consultant rather than first come first serve based on appt time. I purchased the dress that same day (found the dress in Nov 2012 for a June 2013 wedding). They told me at my dress would arrive Feb-March 2013. I hadn't heard from them and it was the end of March so I reached out. After several phone calls (as I live out of state) they told me my dress wouldn't be here until mid May and potentially would not even arrive for the wedding. They stated there was nothing they could do, as I didn't rush my order....why would I need to rush it when I was told it would arrive no later than the end of March??!! One week later, after trying to figure out many different solutions and waiting for answers they called and said my dress arrived. I still didn't get answers as to why I was told all the wrong information. How do you make that big of mistake??? I was crushed when they said it may not arrive for the wedding. At that time, I had already made the decision I would not do alterations with them because of the problems. When I picked my dress up I wanted to at least get an idea of what they would charge me. Needles to say, I was told at that point (in April) they could not do my alterations to make it in time for my wedding. I'm glad I had a back up plan as once again I received disappointing / unexpected news. From the very beginning I felt it was all about the sale. Out of all the stores I visited I had the worst customer service here. I should have went with my gut, but it was hard knowing I found THE dress. I would suggest if you find one there, look online to figure out the designer. Then you can buy it from a different store. My dress was $1986 (includes their discount for same day purchase, tax, and their additional fees, does not include alterations) and the bridesmaid dresses were purchased from there (4 at $200). I was going to order our tuxes but after my dress fiasco went with Jos A Banks. Oh, and they have several additional charges than what is on the price tag (shipping, insurance, ect). The other interesting thing was when I got my dress altered, she said, "do they have an alteration department on site?" I responded yes, and she said she knew it because they ordered me the size based on more alterations than I should have ever needed. Just some more disappointing news after I spent all that money. Needless to say, my dress was perfect after I spent $450 on alterations. I just hope someone else does not have to go thru what I did. My boyfriend did not have a good experience whatsoever when it came to a wedding suit rental from this place. He was standing up in his friend's wedding, and it was a red flag when the fitting took less than 5 minutes. Then, two days before the wedding, the bride's father was kind enough to pick up all the groomsmen's suits since the wedding was not being held in the Milwaukee area. The wedding party arrived in Door County the afternoon before the wedding, and when my boyfriend got his suit, he realized there were three problems: Amelishan provided him 2-button suspenders, yet the pants only had 1 button for suspenders. (Afterwards, Amelishan claimed that is how their suspenders work, yet others in the wedding party, who also received rentals from Amelishan, had 2 buttons on their pants for the suspenders.) Secondly, his suit jacket had a large and very noticeable pucker in the right shoulder. That, honestly, was the least of the mistakes, but it was still rather tacky looking. Lastly, Amelishan provided two left shoes for his suit, which left for an extremely uncomfortable evening. When my boyfriend came to drop off the suit, he explained all three issues with the sales associate, who responded that it was somehow my boyfriend's fault. We are still trying to figure out how it is his fault that all three of the mistakes were made. Needless to say, no one will be receiving any kind words from us about Amelishan, for their products, employees, and customer service seem to be seriously lacking. read more

This was the first place I ever shopped for a wedding dress. And while I didn't end up purchasing a dress here, my consultant, Courtney, was awesome. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I never once felt pressured or rushed. She took everything I said I wanted in a dress, plus what she had observed of my body type, and came up with some awesome, out of the box options to try on. 10/10 (or 5/5, I guess) would recommend. read more

Why should anyone trust a company that purposely hides essential information from their clients??! Amelishan cuts out the labels in every one of their bridal gowns so even if you try on one of their dresses during an appointment and might consider buying it, you won't know the style number or even the designer of the gown. Clearly, Amelishan is not confident in their sales associates, nor in the competitiveness of their prices. At my Amelishan appointment, the sales associate Angela seemed nice and professional. She listened to what I liked and then pulled dresses accordingly and mostly within my price range. The first dress she pulled was absolutely beautiful and my mom and I instantly fell in love. However it, was discontinued and the only one left was a size 10 and I am a size 4 so we were concerned that it could not be altered. Angela on the other hand assured us against our better knowledge that yes it could be. So long story longer, I fell in love with the gown, tried on 15 more, still loved this one and was ready to purchase. Then the alterations lady came out and told us it could not be done (no big surprise seeing as there was so much lace and beading that would be lost in the process). After that crushing disappointment, Angela had me try on a very dull, unflattering dress and when I said I didn't like it because of those reasons her response was that sometimes the bride is so pretty that she doesn't need the most beautiful dress. Now, what bride, however vain or not, would ever believe that?! At this point, I realized Amelishan only cares about making the sale, not helping a bride find the right dress for her wedding. Several weeks later I made an appointment at Savvy Bride on Capital in Brookfield. Unlike Amelishan, Savvy's writes down the information of all your top favorite dresses and then tells you that if you find it for less elsewhere, they will match it in price. To me, that says they have confidence in their prices and selection. Savvy's helped me identify the designer of the dress from Amelishan and then found one that was even more perfect and one that I could actually order. I will be ordering my dress from Savvy Bride! Poor customer service. My wife came home crying more than once from the rude employees. For example all the brides maids were sitting in the waiting area (8 people buying dresses from them), and one of the ladies walks in and tells them if some other people come in they will have to move out of the waiting area. Really??? All the dresses were ordered too big (even questioned why so big from multiple people) and therefore more money spend on adjustments. I had the best wedding dress shopping experiences here. Amara was a great assistant giving me professional advice and plenty of time to make decisions. I felt their selection and price ranges were great. During my first visit she helped me get a better idea about what I liked and looked great wearing. After a few less amazing experiences at other stores, I came back and Amara helped me find my dress. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for individual and professional help when looking for bridal attire. read more

This was the worst experience buying a suit in my life! This is where we went for my son's wedding. from step one until I received my suit was a nightmare! First off, they upgraded my cost by $50 dollars when there was not an upgrade asked for. I asked my son about the cost and they did call me back to say they thought I asked for the upgrades, which I specifically stated when calling in my measurements that I would not need. I was also told it would be a $50 deposit to my card until the suit was picked up after alterations, the full charge was on my card a full eight weeks before it even came in and when I called to ask why it was fully charged the response was they were mistaken thinking it was a rental, when from the onset it was totally understood it was a purchase. I have no money concerns, so I didn't feel the need to argue about that point. I called about eight weeks after the order was placed to see if my suit was in concerned about the time needed for alterations and was told it wouldn't be in for a couple more weeks, actually, when I pressed further, the suit was in, only the tie and pocket square wasn't. When I asked why I couldn't come in to get measured for alterations I was told they prefer not to until everything is in, I'm not sure what a tie has to do with the length of pants or jacket sleeve length. When I did finally did get fitted I was told it would be back by the next weekend, six days later. I didn't hear anything after 13 days so I called to ask if it was done and it wasn't. If it wasn't for my son's wedding I would have just eaten the cost and gone elsewhere to get a suit. the final straw was that I paid for the alterations at the time of being fitted and when I finally was able to pick my suit up, there were stray strings all over the suit which I didn't feel was the effort to pursue, then as I was leaving the parking lot I was called to say I didn't pay for the alterations! Thankfully I had printed the receipt so that became a moot point. Their customer service is probably the worst I've dealt with, and I'm glad I will never deal with them again! I visited the store in December and then called in March to place my order with my measurements. I typically wear a size four and was told (based on my measurements) to order a size 12. Since this is my first time as a bridesmaid, I trusted the associate. I just received my dress, and it is DRASTICALLY too big. Another person in my party ordered an 8 by the same designer and I fit in that dress. I anticipate it will cost me the same as I paid for the dress to get it altered. Very disappointed! And the fine print leaves you with no solution since all sales are final. read more

I had an appointment with Amelishan and was greeted promptly to try on bridal gowns. Kristin was very polite. My group was allowed to pull dresses on our own which we prefer. The store has a large selection of dresses organized by fit. They also have a full wall dedicated to plus size dresses which I haven't seen at many places. I wasn't looking for prom or bridesmaids but there were large selections available. It appeared the selection of bridal was priced mainly between $1000 and $2000. After these facts though this place was not the place for me. I had to put the dresses on my self even though I had a consultant working with me. You are also not allowed to know the designer or model of the dress until after purchase nor can you take pictures. For someone who is not an impulsive shopper this turned me off to the store and I refuse to go back. I had a positive experience at Amelishan. I went the last weekend in February 2014 for our wedding in September 2014. Due to multiple recent deaths in the family, I went with a good friend. Amelishan allowed my friend to take photos and notes on the dresses I tried on so it was easy to share them with my mom (my understanding is that they always allow you to take photos). I worked with Angela. She was very considerate of my taste and budget. She asked to see photos/magazine clippings of things I knew I liked. Then we both picked out dresses. She would bring things over to me and asked me if I wanted to try it on or not (I really liked this because other shops really wasted my time making me try on dresses I was pretty sure I wouldn't like). I also liked that they let you thumb through the racks yourself (you'd be surprised). I did not feel rushed as I tried on dress after dress. I found 3 dresses I really liked that were either at or under budget (this had been a problem at multiple other bridal shops). Angela was very patience as I looked at myself from every angle and my friend snapped away. I came back with my mom the following weekend and purchased my dress plus a belt. I should mention this day was chaotic because we also got my mom's dress and the bridesmaid dresses at the same time but the staff was very patient with us. Because I got my dress here, they all got discounts on their dresses. I had gone to Eva's in Oak Creek and even with the discount they were quick to offer for having multiple bridesmaids, it was definitely cheaper to get them from Amelishan. My dress came in with plenty of time to spare. While ordering they go over in detail your measurements and how that compares to the different sizes and have to have in writing that you know the dress will fit just right here and be big there. What's funny is that it was supposed to be multiple inches big in the hips and actually was a little snug. I didn't gain any weight, but thankfully they were able to let it out just a little. I ended up getting my alterations done there because we did not know of any one else to do them. I had gotten recommendations from friends but when I called I felt uneasy. It was very expensive (as expected) but they did a great job overall. The most frustrating part was that it was a little difficult for them to fit me in for appointments despite me calling to schedule as soon as my dress was in (they won't let you schedule any sooner). My parents were coming from IL and we often had to pick appointments on the weekend that were not at convenient times for us (they tried to suggest I come during the week but I work late in Racine and don't live in the area so it didn't work for me). Overall, I got TONS of compliments on my dress. A family friend commented on a picture of me in my dress "she really did have the perfect dress." read more
