She was eager to share her experience but listened to my daughter and encouraged her to find a dress that captured who she was. While the dresses hung in long rows in the middle of the salon, the private fitting room offered an enormous mirror and platform for the bride to be, an attached chaging room and plenty of surrounding seating for guests. Parking was easy, including spots directly in front of the salon. My daughter loved the selection of dresses, and I appreciated the open communication with our consultant. While a record of specifics is noted in their records, I did request and get a business card with the same.

I am really glad I came here. One thing that could have been clarified, when you purchase a dress and you do not use credit card you cannot pick it up immediately. Supposedly this is an industry standard, but not something we were told when we put it on hold. We were purchasing a sample dress and were concerned about waiting for a dress we had purchased, so we had to go to multiple ATMs to get cash (not easy to do without flagging your card).

I was with my friend when she tried on the dress (off the rack) and I was worried as to how the dress could be made to fit her (even though she is teenie tiny) but her wedding dress was two sizes too small! Katherine made my friend's dress fit her PERFECTLY (from adding the two sizes and somehow making the bra/breast area fit perfectly without a gap (I feel like this is difficult to accomplish with a wedding gown and I see lots of brides with the gap around the bra area and it bothers me). I'm super picky and I was SOLD on hiring Katherine when I saw my friend on her wedding day - she seriously looked like a model in a movie! I told my friend "I need your wedding gown professional's contact info STAT for my own upcoming wedding. So so glad I called! Katherine also made (herself!) a beautiful sash for my daughter's flower girl dress (and for all of the other flower girls) ... they were so classy and so cute!! Super high quality too! The veil Katherine made (also herself) for my friend was GORGEOUS and I'm so excited for mine now (I get married next year)! Katherine has been so nice and so personable in my own wedding gown alteration process - and it's so nice and refreshing to have this! She is available via text message which I also appreciate a lot. The alterations ended up being taken a little too far and it lays weirdly on the sides (puckering etc), and when I received my dress back, it had visible dirt/stains on the back of the dress that were not there when I brought it in. My dress was brand new when I dropped it off, and when I expressed concern, I was told that it came that way/she didn't know what happened, which was frustrating because that simply was not true. I now have to spend additional time and money getting my wedding dress professionally cleaned myself, and no discount or effort was made to make the situation right. Communication throughout the entire process was also unclear. I was never given a firm completion date, which created unnecessary stress during an already stressful time leading up to a wedding. Wedding dress alterations are expensive, and for the amount I paid, I expected much more care, accountability, and communication. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the overall experience. While she was kind personally, I would not return and would not recommend her services.

When All About The Gown saw that I had already gotten a dress at a different Illinois bridal boutique on my Instagram (my wedding is only 8 months away, so it was definitely time) they commented with only kind words for me. Right away when entering Miss Ruby's, all the staff was extremely kind. I was paired up with Peyton as my bridal assistant, and she was amazing from the jump. She really listened to me and every dress she selected for me to try had elements that I loved. She was patient and truly wanted me to feel comfortable, and put no pressure on me.
