All I can say is that it is probably a good thing I don't live close to Amelia's because it would be hard to resist visiting every morning for breakfast. Fantastic breads, pastries, cookies. Lovely cheese and meats to pair with fresh bread for a casual lunch. Just go, trust me.

Nice place to have a coffee and pastry. Pastry selection was diverse and freshly baked. I enjoyed the ham and cheese biscuit. Good coffee. Bread smelled delicious. Cool little place with a wonderful place out front to sit end enjoy.

I love bread! This place has great bread selection and other goodies too. This spot is located in fountain square, but Amelia's has grown over the years and they have a couple other locations too around the city. This one is good for grab and go, unless it's nice out and then you can enjoy seating located out front. Service is friendly here. The workers are always up to answering any of my questions. They told me the olive bread is only sold on Wednesdays. I've never had it, but it sounds good. The bread I love is the focaccia. They sell it in a square loaf for $5. I like to eat this bread plain, with cheese, or make a sandwich with it. I also purchased a chocolate croissant (I love me a good chocolate croissant) and it was so flaky, buttery, and filling, very delicious. I warmed it up a bit at home and enjoyed every bite of it. Ive had a coffee from here and it was good, coffee and bread is a great combination. To get here, you have to find street parking as they don't have a parking lot. I usually find a side street to park at that doesn't charge.

Decided to make this our second stop since we haven't been in for a while. Always such a good little visit and never know what yummy surprises are waiting for you. Today I got the olive loaf, a cherry almond danish and some pasta oh and a little cherry jam. Stir young man behind the counter was absolutely the sweetest and very welcoming. Absolutely darling. Such a delight to go to even when you're not looking for anything particular. Had I not been going out and about I would have bought some cold items but it's too hot to leave in car so this just gives me an excuse to go shop another day.

The bakery is also a store. If you need a quick corner shop they have breakfast, lunch, dinner grab and go items. The staff was super friendly and patient as I worked my way through all the pasties in the pastry case to make my selection. Another perk was how late this bakery stays open, which I believe is 8pm. I brought my family an assortment of pastries which they loved all of them. I got the sweet potato hand pie, cinnamon roll croissant, potato au gratin, apple danish, shortbread and focaccia, and I believe they all had appropriate filling to bread ratio. The pastries were shareable size and my only regret is I didn't purchase more.

Cuter bakery with quite a few items to choose from. We got a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll and two black iced teas. The cinnamon roll was very good with what tasted like honey drizzled throughout. The chocolate croissant really lacked enough chocolate but it was flaky and buttery. I know more chocolate would weigh down the pastry. Black tea was strong and cold.

Looking for a quick grab & go bite in Indianapolis? Make sure to stop by Amelia's for the best fresh-baked pastries and bread in town! We enjoyed the rhubarb tart, the ham and cheese biscuit, and more! Each pastry was fresh and unique. The cool part about this spot? There is a daily loaf schedule featuring new items! You can expect a bit of a line while you are there because of its popularity, but the line moves super quick because of great service! There are fresh snacks and refrigerated items that would be perfect for a date night or charcuterie board. Stop by Amelia's and try the rhubarb tart...I promise you will love it!

Stopped in to grab a chocolate croissant, and it was SO GOOD!! I love when the chocolate isn't too overpowering, and there's just enough for the croissant to have a touch of sweetness. I might become a regular from now on.

So picture it, July 11th, 2024. You are spending a fun day enjoying the random stops in Indianapolis, waiting for a concert. It's a little cloudy, so you go and scope out a park and a couple of shops before dinner. And then the heaviest rain you can imagine hits so you hide under the overhand of a tiny lil bakery whose staff ask you to come in and keep dry. We got to see quite a bit of shop goods and tons of bread and bakery items. They asked what our tastes were, I was eyeing a jalapeño blueberry corn muffin while my sister got the darkest chocolate brownie that I had ever seen. Both were especially delicious and brought smiles to our faces. The employees were kind and knowledgeable about bread. And I love good bread. 5s

This is my favorite bakery in Indianapolis. The pastries are always fresh, the nicest people work there and the they have a variety of gourmet grocery and local foods. They have non gmo feed local eggs, locally grown lettuce and herbs and meats from the smoking goose. Wide variety of breads and some gluten friendly pastries. They had a new earl grey financier GF that was out of this world! A must try!

Enjoyed my lavender cookie so much I didn't get a photo until it was almost polished off.

Indianapolis, IN - having just finished an excellent dinner at Bluebeard, decided I needed a bit of a walk. Amelia's was right next door and possibly adjoining Bluebeard. The charming little shop has breads and also a small amount of prepared goods. In addition there were a few pastries and cookies on display. I asked the friendly employee about the lavender cookie. She noted it wasn't her favorite as she's not a lavender fan. This was so refreshing to me having been to many places where everything I ask about is THE best and THE most delicious. The cookie tastes strongly of Lavender with a tiny bit of salt maybe and sweet but not too sweet. Texture is firm but crumbly and moist. Perfect! The cookie was reasonably priced at $3. I would definitely return when in town.

Is all of the bread sourdough? Is the City Loaf sourdough? Is the bread generally in stock if I stop in?

No, not all of the bread is sourdough. They have different varieties of bread and a featured bread of the day each day. I'm not sure about the City Loaf bread. They do a good job stocking up on bread each day, but it does go fast, so my…

Is there a place to sit inside?

No, but there is outdoor seating nearby.

This was my first time visiting! With restrictions/limitations on meat during COVID, my wife and I…read moredecided to explore our other (local) options. After looking through the website, we called ahead to see if we could get a whole Fore Quarter Bundle (cuts from the front). I think there was a miscommunication. After doing a walk-in, we were told they also cap in person orders at $300. This meant, we could only get the half version. Still a lot of meat! So this was my take-away for those who might be in a similar situation. 1. Whether you order online or do a walk-in, your order is capped at $300 (obviously this could change). 2. My understanding is that you can also buy your choice of the offered cuts, but you might want to call ahead to verify. 3. Only three customers (not 3 parties, actual counts of people) are allowed in the store at a given time (at least as of 5/16). Yes, there might be a line outside; but I appreciated the current rule so that there was space inside the store. 4. Customers were masked up, but not employees. In fairness, they looked like they were keeping everything clean. 5. I'm under the impression that the beef is Grassfed (grainfed prior to butcher). I'm not 100% on this. 6. You won't necessarily get exact weights for everything you buy, but I believe our bundle was a good market price. Definitely cheaper than even some of the retailers that provide good quality affordable meat. The chuck roast we had (first night!) was good quality. So the short: good value for what you pay. 7. I was impressed with both the variety and quantity. So if you're frustrated with grocery store caps, you might want to check this place out. 8. Regarding the online ordering. It's great that they offer it. But for first timers (like me), I'd probably recommend walk-in. The online ordering may take a week or more to fill. But when you're in the store, you can get an idea of your options. I hope this is a helpful list of things for people in the Indy area looking for a good value. I think this local business gives you options!

Very clean shop. Lots of specials for anyone. I ordered the economy bundle and the price is…read moredifferent than online. online it said 106 dollars and here said 115 but it was still a good deal. I also got 3 pounds of chicken legs and two of the pork fritters because they were $1.50 today. The young man who helped me was very helpful and let me swap out one of the items. he also let me know where their meat was sourced from. I believe they said the pork and chicken was from Delphi and the beef was from Midwest. They were all friendly while very busy. After I ordered, there was a large group of people, so I guess I got in at a good time! I loved my last bundle and I'm sure this one's going to be equally as good. The prices May be going up a little bit shortly, but right now they're honoring the prices that are listed on the boards. They also go through each of the orders with you to make sure you have every item in your bundles. Go check it out!
