This is not a review of the whole theater complex. Just a rebuke on their "IMAX" screen. Don't pay extra to watch IMAX here. It's just a regular screen and thus not worth the additional ticket price. I went to this theater back when the F1 movie was released. I'm a huge F1 fan and wanted to watch the movie in as an immersive environment as possible so I chose to go here to watch it on their "IMAX" screen. What a let down when I entered the theater. The screen was no bigger than a normal theater. I later googled why the IMAX screen at this theater is so small and I guess there are "digital" IMAX theaters where they simply seat you closer to a regular sized screen to try to fool viewers into thinking the screen is bigger. IMAX themselves should not support this practice. For those viewers who've never seen a true IMAX screen, the underwhelming screen size will make them not pay extra to see future IMAX versions of movies and the format will lose viewership. Theaters shouldn't do this because it's misleading to their customers. read more

Came here on a lil day date with my bby to watch "Marty Supreme" heard it was a really good movie! I absolutely love this movie theater it has reclining seats that go all the way back and you can get really comfortable. The arm rest goes up too so you can cuddle with your bby! The drinks/ snacks are a bit pricey. Definitely worth it tho! Will be back soon! read more

Went in to watch The Odyssey but suffered for the entire 3 hour runtime due to the lack of air conditioning. Everyone in the auditorium was visibly sweating and finding it hard to watch the film due to the thick air and heat. Will not be coming back to this theater until they fix this issue. read more

Very disappointing experience at AMC IMAX Newark. We just watched The Odyssey, which is almost a 3-hour movie, and the theater had little to no air conditioning the entire time. It was uncomfortably hot from start to finish, making it difficult to enjoy the film. For the price of an IMAX ticket, I expected a much better experience. Sitting in a hot auditorium for nearly three hours completely ruined the movie. It felt like a waste of money. Unfortunately, I won't be watching at this location again unless they fix this issue. We got an AMC Gift card from our niece from Christmas and after 5 months we decided to use it coz we kept postponing watching a movie lol I remember I think it was last three years ago the last time we watched here. We watched on a Monday so it's slow and hardly no people were watching. It is really a good place to watch a movie. Huge. Cool vibes. There's a bar you can order beer as well. However, when you order a popcorn, it was already in the counter sitting, waiting for you because it was already prepared ahead of time. I just don't like it because they are kind of soggy when we started eating it. Then the second thing I got turned off is their tickets. The printout has a lot of AMC watermark so you can hardly see the information on there. We actually didn't hear the guy telling us which one was our number. It was actually the number three room so while walking inside the hall, there was not even a number outside the doors so you wouldn't figure out which movie is showing on what door. My husband has to walk all the way out again in the front to ask for the number. I just hope they would make improvements where they do something about this. That's all. read more

This theater looked nice on the outside and inside. The staff were helpful and nice. But geez, please upgrade your seats. These were one of the most worn out reclining seats I've seen in a theater recently. In fact, seat G4 in Theater 6 is broken and does not recline. Completely ruined the movie experience. A nice movie theater in Fremont. It is huge theater I believe it has 12 studios. This is one of movie theater that also play foreign movies like chinese/ Hongkong movies which are not played ot regular movie theater. The way they design the entrance after you scanned the ticket is interesting, where after ticket scanning you have to pass the snack/food/drink area. I usually get the popcorn. At this theater, it also have caramel and cheese popcorn and you can mix with regular popcorn. It also have other food like chicken strip and nuggets. It also serve alcohol drink. The studio we watch movie is pretty big and nice screen. I like the theater compare to other group as the sign to each studio is very clear. One not so pleasant experience was one person stands next to the grab and go popcorn. He doesn't looks like going to watch movie. The person also has unpleasant smell and when I want to grab the popcorn, he didn't move eventhough he kind of blocking the way to get the popcorn. I think the management need to control the hygiene and cleanest of food area and only allow people who watch movie in this area. I saw the person after a while walked out from the theater. read more

This AMC theater is mediocre. It is unusually hot in their Dolby IMAX theater room (room #1). It is consistently hot and stuffy. People come out of theater always commenting about how hot it was in there. The management team certainly DO NOT turn on the AC in this theater. Either that, or they don't want to fix their broken AC unit. I would avoid this theater if you don't want to sit there and just sweat while watching a 2+ hour movie. It is ironic given that everyone is paying a premium to have a comfortable experience, and this theater cannot do that because it is usually WAY cooler outside of the building. read more

This AMC movie theater is still pleasant and conveniently located. It's just sad to see NewPark Mall vacant, including the empty food court since Macy's shutdown with nothing much left inside of it. For movies, it's still a good stop. You will still notice the messy condiments & beverage areas though. I think AMC can do a much better job with food service here if it chooses to improve. Their pepperoni pizza isn't the best looking around town. Employees are nice and welcoming most of the time. I like the theater location. Movie screens are huge and restrooms are pretty decent. The building itself stands out with big natural window lighting from outside. Parking lot is spacious. It's not cheap going to the movies these days, but AMC still offers discount 50% off Tuesdays & Wednesdays. They have plenty of self service kiosks before entering to pick up foods/beverages. Layout is good. Employees behind the counters are usually helpful or awesome. Location has so much potential. I really hope more restaurants would open because going to the movies is a blast, but having more great foods walking distance at or around the mall can help. read more

AC is NOT WORKING AT ALL. It is so hot, and when I asked a staff why is it hot, he told me that since it is only the first showing of Odyssey (really at 6 pm?)they just turned it on. Kind of a drive from San Jose but since my daughter and I were planning a cousin movie date, this location ended up being one of the better options in terms of cleanliness and lighter foot traffic. AMC NewPark, bonus points for you because my daughter enjoyed/experienced her first theater showing at this very location. Yes, I openly admit my bias-ness and I'm totally okay with that. The staff we encountered was friendly and the theater itself was very clean and organized- granted, it was kind of early in the day. The restrooms were well stocked and soap was flowing [always a good sign in my book]. Our showing was in Auditorium 5. Seating was spacious, extremely comfortable, and the kiddos had a kick in being able to recline ask much or as little as they wanted. Popcorn was poppin' and the fountain drinks were gassy, just how I like it!! 5/5 stars. I couldn't have hoped for a better #FIRSTTIME experience for my child. She still talks about her visit and is eagerly looking forward to returning with her bff cousins! read more

Definitely a much better experience returning in 2024. The self serve area was much better, albeit, probably since I came during a later showing. Less people clogging the concessions stand area and got a fresh bag of popcorn too! My boyfriend paid all in cheaper Costco gift card rather than in full price which was cool. The hack is to separate the popcorn into a separate cardboard box so you can add in extra butter. They have a good amount of flavors in their Coca Cola Freestyle machine, including lots of zero sugar options, including a couple limited edition/seasonal flavors too, which is nice. Restrooms could have been slightly cleaner but it was the end of the night and it was Christmas so I can understand they're a bit short staffed. Screen quality was crisp and clear and great audio too. Unfortunately, during the quieter parts of the movie there was some audio contamination from the neighboring theater but I feel like you can't really do anything about that. AMC is just so expensive for the theater's quality. Did late night showing for Sinners on opening day. The movie was late at night for IMAX but seats were not recliner unfortunately. I was just surprised since it was $26 ticket. I know it's mostly for the IMAX screen but I wish it was nicer. The seats were fine and comfortable but pretty small compared to regular recliners. Bathrooms were not kept up at all. It was pretty gross. Would not recommend. read more

Sound level is too LOUD! Tried calling AMC to ask duty manager to lower volume but only got recorded message that due to volume of calls they are unable to service my call. So went out to ask an employee to help. He said he would call it in directly but volume still did not go down. Moved back to rear of theater to get as far away from speakers as possible. Still too loud but at least able to continue watching movie. Considering how much we paid for tickets and refreshments I don't think we'll be coming here again. read more

My Old Ass was awesome this past Saturday... as was this theatre. Plenty of parking out front with lots of light outside to feel safe. No waits, no fuss, no obnoxious moviegoers ruining the experience for others. Modern cinema, with updated recliner seats that go all the way back and footrests that extend all the way out, great picture quality and sound in the auditorium, and ideal temperature for comfort. They also have the Coca Cola freestyle machines to customize soda flavors, and MacGuffins bar for cocktails to add to a relaxing evening. My fiancé said "Oppenheimer needs to be watched in IMAX" so I told him okay, you go get tickets and I'll join. The closest theater that still had a large amount of seats open was at AMC NewPark so that's where he bought tickets from. Located at a mall, there's plenty of parking all around so no worries there. Once you arrived in the theater, you are either guided towards the self ticketing machines or you go left and there'll be an usher scanning your tickets. The food line is pretty straight forward - you order with a cashier, go to pick up area to get your food. Drinks are self serve and the cashier will give you the cup. I must say, I was a little underwhelmed with the IMAX experience. Perhaps my bougie self is used to self-reclining seats, but while the seats were plush I couldn't find myself getting comfortable for a 3 hour movie. The sound was great though. Overall, the workers were friendly, the theater was pretty clean, and you can also order food via their app for delivery to your seat. read more

You ever had rancid popcorn? Yeah me either until this evening at this theater. Let me tell you- this place was a walking health RISK when it came to food safety. Let me be clear-leaving a review to a movie theater was not on my list of must-do's in life, BUT- I am very aware that if you want corporate to do anything about ANYTHING, you gotta leave a review. Plain and simple- I believe it was the diy butter station that went rancid, my popcorn tasted of moldy dairy and smelled like a dirty sponge. At the bar, the girls were kind, and when one went to place a lime in my drink she had to pry the gross sticky tongs open just to grab the fruit with. I ordered a hot dog, it was ice cold when I opened it up once in my seat and the movie was just too good to get up and inconvenience myself to go get replacements.. I went ahead after my movie and asked for the manager, let her know my popcorn was rancid and just wanted to let them know to clean it up. No replacement was offered, no sorry but she did say she "would take a look at it." Fine. This is my easy to get to-in the neighborhood-movie theater, that I plan to frequent so please get this together so I can enjoy the food without the stomach ache and nausea myself and my wife are going through now. read more

It's a very nice theater!! Parking is no issue (sooo many spaces) and I really like the fact that the whole front side is glass which brings in a lot of light and lets you see out into the distance. Ticket scanning is quick and easy , and all the employees we encountered were friendly. The hallway outside the auditoriums was a bit dirty (popcorn on the floor) but the bathrooms were extremely clean and so was the auditorium I was in (10). To add, the recliners in auditorium 10 were in like-new condition (no stains, no leftover popcorn, no issues at all). The screen was pretty big and I got a good view from where I was sitting (Far right side, seat G2). I came on a weekday afternoon so the theater was pretty empty so I can't comment on guest behavior. Overall, I had a really great time at this theater. There's a few AMCs that are closer to me but this one had a limited release movie that I couldn't watch elsewhere so I decided to make the trip. Today, I visited your cinema and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience that has made me reconsider future visits. I arrived with my own coffee since your cinema does not offer decaffeinated options. I was willing to dispose of my drink after realizing that outside drinks are not allowed. However, when I asked the manager if there was any possibility of providing decaffeinated coffee, I was met with a sarcastic smile and told that it did not matter to her whether I returned to the cinema or not. Considering that the cost for tickets and food for two of us is nearly $100, I expected a better level of customer service. I'm kinda iffy about this theater. Like I get it it's AMC and they have Dolby but why do the seats not recline all the way up only kinda? Why is there no walking room when the seats are up. Why are the touch pads to recline seats so difficult to maneuver once the movie goes in since they turn off the brightness. So you can't see where to push it to make the seat go lower so people can pass.. But my main thing with AMC is why is it so god dam expensive to watch a movie? When I can legit go to Cinemark and watch a movie for 10 bucks. There popcorn is good, but they skimpy ass shit on the jalapeños. Why do I have to buy everything first then go pick up.. hella weird. THREE TIMES AT FATHOM EVENTS / TCM CLASSICS Last year I went to this theater three times specifically for the partnership of the Fathom Events / TCM Classics for three movies: 45th Anniversary of Smokey and the Bandit, 60th Anniversary of the What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, and 50th Anniversary of Cabaret. Because I wanted to enjoy watching these classics I choose this theater to enhance my movie experience due to the incline seats. With that I am paying more to watch these movies at this theater - I paid almost $20 for each of these movies. What do I expect when I pay this much? I expect the movies to start on time. I understand there are previews before the movie, but nothing was appearing on the screen at the time of the designated movies. Even during the showing of Smokey and the Bandit the movie wasn't running properly in the middle of the movie. One of the workers had to rewind parts of the movie. The breaking point was the showing for "Cabaret". The film was suppose to start at 3:00PM on a Sunday afternoon. I even took a picture of my watch showing the time of 3:10PM. One of the co-workers yelled, "Turn over your camera!" Well maybe if you started these TCM Classic movies at this theater on time then I would not have to take a picture. And the worst part was another 15 minutes passed by and nothing was showing on the screen. When the movie was starting the first 5 minutes was skipped. Honestly, I wasn't going to create a review about this theatre, but I just had to bc they had the TAYLOR SWIFT ERAS TOUR popcorn bucket!!! My husband & I already saw the movie a few days before, but the theatre we went to didn't have the pink tin popcorn bucket So I did my research & saw that AMC theatres are the only ones that have the superior popcorn bucket So I tried my luck & drove 20 minutes hoping it would be there & it was!!!! The employees were nice enough to let us in & the person ringing us said the buckets just came in cuz it sold out the very first day the movie came out & AMC restocked luckily! Also, they knew I wanted to keep the bucket & cup nice & clean so when they gave it to us, they gave us an extra paper cup so it wouldn't get dirty & we were able to get a separate paper bucket for our actual popcorn. Came in yesterday to watch a movie with my family. Horrible experience with the cashier Amy. She was super rude, no customer service what so ever. Definitely doesn't want to be there because it seems like she hates people not welcoming at all. Theater 3 H8 recliner did not work which was a big bummer, my son was not able to enjoy the movie and was not able to sit elsewhere since the whole row was taken.
