The primary issue was the food quality. My brother and I got separate orders of mixed Fajitas. The shrimp turned out fine, good in fact, but the chicken was dry and overcooked and the beef was somehow worse. The beef fajitas specifically charred and inedible. The portion size for the price you pay was a tad high. Mixed Fajitas (chicken and beef) for one at other restaurants give you more than two slices of each meat. The fajita plate doesn't include cheese or sour cream; if you enjoy that it's extra. Just before the food came out, a sopping wet ceiling tile and blown-in insulation fell from the ceiling. Pieces of insulation made it into nearby tables (including ours) and into drinks. The mess was quickly resolved. Mess cleaned up. Drinks replaced. Tables wiped down. But the AC had to be turned off because the line continued to leak over the bar. This was an accident and doesn't reflect poorly on the service, but it added to the overall first impression being less than ideal. There were several miscommunications with the waiter. He got two of our orders wrong. The manager had to come over and solve one because he didn't understand the request to substitute yellow American cheese for white Monterey Jack cheese. The manager resolved this and the enchiladas were very good after it was corrected. My SIL ordered a queso flameado with chicken, but the waiter brought out one with beef instead. The beef on this dish was also incredibly dry and inedible.. Even after pointing out the mistake and fixing it with the correct order the waiter charged for the beef. Upon trying to get the bill corrected, the waiter didn't give the correct cash back and the Host had to resolve the issue. Overall impression: not a place I'll return to anytime soon.

Later I asked for another, and that's when I was told it's $1 per bowl. I declined and told her I wouldn't have ordered the first one had I known there was a charge. I assumed they'd use a little common sense and not charge me for something I was never told cost extra -- but they did. I spoke with a woman in a blue shirt at the counter (who appeared to be a manager) and told her that this $1 bowl of green sauce earned them a one-star review because of the hidden fee. She refused to give me her name, though she had no problem giving me someone else's when I asked for a manager's contact. To be honest, the food isn't great anyway. I won't be back -- all over a dollar and the principle behind it. They must have really needed that dollar, because they chose this review instead of simply not taking it from me.

One of the better fruit related festivals I've gone to. The festival is huge, lots of vendors and…read moreold shoppes to see. They have activities for kids, competitions for all ages and programs such as cooking presentation and film screenings. The main highlight was going to a farm and picking fresh blueberries. Me and my friend planned a whole itinerary for the day and you really can spend a whole day at nacagdoches! I managed to try a few restaurants in the area as well as get some chipotle sauce and blueberry cobler and blueberry lemonade! It was a 2.5 hr drive from Houston! We got there exactly at 8am and got great parking at the church and people were already lined up for blueberry pancakes!! Also shuttle tickets to farm got taken fast!!! At 9am we got a time slot to farm at 12:15pm. I suggest you get shuttle ticket first thing getting there. By 11am or even 10am tickets will no longer be available!! Volunteers were plenty!! They had a lot of free ice cold water bottles until the end of the day which I thought was an amazing priority to keep festive goers hydrated!! The sweet shoppe was a very Cute and relaxing little stand in the bank!! Expect to overeat and if you get extra time I recommend driving to the mize garden!! It's a nice little hike, could easily spend about 40 minutes there! Take some bug spray though!
