The bartenders and servers know all the locals which is evident every time me and my coworkers stop in here for happy hours or for dinner. They still give us the attention we need for drink refills and food orders. For drinks, it's mainly beer although they have hard liquor available here. I always stick with Miller Lite since it's cheap and they bring it out quick. As for food, it's mainly burgers and bar eats. The appetizers such as the wings, chips n queso, fried jalapenos, and pretzel bites w/ beer cheese are our favorites. Meanwhile, they do good burgers here which are a favorite amongst the team. Each day will have food specials such as half priced appetizers and $1 wings. Check the menu out for the full details. It's a great place to watch sports and grab drinks/eats or catch live music if it's available. This is part of our rotation whenever we're in Lufkin.

I was really looking forward to trying their Dr Pepper BBQ brisket pizza but unfortunately, they were out. I ordered a Margherita instead and it was pretty good. The pizza oven (i believe wood fired) was in full view from the bar. They have about 12 beers on tap and a few seltzers. I got a coconut stout, 2 IPA's and a Kolsch. All of them were good but the Hoosier Hazy was probably my favorite. Cool place, good beer and I would definitely stop in again if I were in the area. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. We actually felt a little underdressed when we walked in, but they treated us like we fit right in, even though we showed up in sweats. We started with the garlic dip, which was super garlicky, cheesy, and absolutely delicious--a must-try. My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. I ordered a burger that was slightly on the dry side but still very tasty, and the truffle fries were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and addictive. Overall, it was easily a 4.5-star visit with great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. And we did go back-one week later-this time sitting at the bar. We both ordered cocktails, and the drinks were excellent. I had two different styles of Old Fashioneds and really enjoyed both. My wife had two martinis and loved them. For food, we tried the chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and my wife ordered the half sandwich and salad combo. The wrap was honestly one of the best I've ever had--the chicken had a great char, and there was plenty of dressing. My wife really enjoyed her BLT; it had the perfect amount of bacon and was put together really well. At this point, I think we've found our new go-to spot in Downtown Lufkin. Can't wait to go back!

Later I asked for another, and that's when I was told it's $1 per bowl. I declined and told her I wouldn't have ordered the first one had I known there was a charge. I assumed they'd use a little common sense and not charge me for something I was never told cost extra -- but they did. I spoke with a woman in a blue shirt at the counter (who appeared to be a manager) and told her that this $1 bowl of green sauce earned them a one-star review because of the hidden fee. She refused to give me her name, though she had no problem giving me someone else's when I asked for a manager's contact. To be honest, the food isn't great anyway. I won't be back -- all over a dollar and the principle behind it. They must have really needed that dollar, because they chose this review instead of simply not taking it from me.
