We found this pool soon after moving to Eugene and felt immediately giddy at all the amenities. The price of admission is so affordable! The life guards and staff were absolutely helpful and friendly. They really have it covered and take their job seriously. There is a large pool that is divided into main splash area for all ages, lap lanes, and deep end for diving boards and a drop off slide. Then there is a very decent water slide with splashy twists and turns. A kid friendly splash and play area for little ones and even a hot tub! Honestly, this is a delightful find... Did I mention they sell onigiri and shave ice at the concession stand? So Ono! read more

Call before you go if you're not intimately familiar with the hours. We are from out of state, passing through with 2 kids under 5. We had showed up at another local pool only to be told that they were closing in 20 minutes (cue the preschooler meltdown) so we called Amazon before we drove to it, they assured us they were open until 7:30pm. When we arrived they told us there would be a 1 hour break starting in 20 minutes. Um, that would have been helpful to mention on the phone before we drove there?! However, the sand pit is open during the pool break, and fortunately my kids like to play in sand just as much if not more than they like to play in water. Also, they do not sell sunscreen at the front desk, so don't forget to bring your own! There's an Albertson's pharmacy not far if you forget it. read more

I have used and loved this pool for 22 years. My kids learned to swim here and I have swum laps here for 15 years. It's pure delight. I've never had a single bad experience with staff. It's clean and well maintained and always a joy. I particularly appreciate their COVID policies. read more

I took my kids & their friends an hour before they opened to stand in line to get in. No notice on their website, no signs, no notice that all pools are closed except 2' splash pool. After an hour wait & $5 per person ($20), all the pools were closed except the 2 ft splash pool. my 14 yo son & friends swam for 10 minutes and were bored. We packed up & left, asked to be reimbursed so we could let the next people in that were still waiting in line & we could come back when pools were open .. the pool manager was called and argued with us for 20 minutes that the kids had swam & they couldn't refund us .. sooo disappointing & poorly managed. Would not recommend. They tend to be understaffed, poorly managed, don't communicate to patrons, let people wait in line for hours to get in with no signage that they are understaffed with pools closed. read more

This is the finest public pool I have ever seen. Being from California, I love outdoor pools and I really appreciate the layout of this one. It can be configured to be long course meters or short course yards. I swam during lap swim on Friday from 11-12:30, then also swam Sunday from around 11:30-1, and both times the pool wasn't too crowded, maybe 3 people to a lane at the most, so there are plenty of lanes to go around! Definitely preferable to cramming 4-5 people in a lane. Also, when I was leaving on a Sunday afternoon, they were reconfiguring the pool for rec swim, and they were putting in these amazing inflatable things that basically created an obstacle course across the pool. Also a huge bonus, the locker rooms are the cleanest I've ever experienced at a pool. I don't know how they do it, but it's incredibly well-maintained. Lockers are available for a quarter for day use as well. Overall, an amazingly well-run pool, with very organized lifeguards and a clean, extremely enjoyable facility. The pool is nice and big. Lots of choices of activities in the summer. It is almost like a water park. However in he time leading up to summer session the laps are long 125 yards each way. Hell for lap swimmers. Best to wait till summer hours for the standard 25 yards. Downside is despite yearly renovations they still have extremely old lockers that cost a quarter, and they seem to have updated nothing other than the shower heads. read more

Closes early without notice, Impossible to access, hours online inaccurate, extremely limited capacity. They closed at 1pm on a Sunday in the middle of summer. Online posted hours said till 2:15pm. Line of people outside to get in and had to wait for people to leave first. They told me they were at 125% capacity.. which makes no sense. There were chairs stacked up everywhere and it looked half empty. I asked for weekday hours for family rec and it's only 2-5pm on 2 days. Are they trying to shut down? read more

Great for families. Several pools with various depths. Toddlers, teens an adults will enjoy the space. Lifeguards and staff are friendly. Snack she'd had a good variety. Make sure to bring quarters. Lockers are single use. If you need to grab something out of the locker you will need a quarter to re-lock it. This is the reason they didn't get 5 stars. read more

The main pool, which I've exclusively used for lap swimming, is huge. During the drop-by hours, the lanes are sideways, so the lane you pick is one depth all the way across. I'm not a fan of crowds, since I'm an empath, and it's too bad the hours aren't longer for dropping in. Aside from the scenery, I also LURV the fact that Amazon is a family-friendly pool park which features a bright, lemon drop water slide, open and expansive kiddie pool, sand box, a hot tub, multiple diving boards, lap lanes, pool toys, kick boards and swim fins. Protip: You don't have to have kids --or even borrow someone else's-- to go and have fun at Amazon; adults are welcome. There are water aerobics classes, lap swim hours, prime sunbathing locations, and a snack shack featuring Hawaiian shaved ice, mochi, grilled onigiri and burgers. One of fav places to take the kids. $10 and you can take whole family to picnic and play and relax at pool and kids play area. Pretty new too as they remodel couple years back. Great for kids as they have wading pool and fountains for toddlers and deeper pool for the older kids as wells. read more

I used to love amazon pool but the hours for swimming with kids have diminished greatly. It is weird that in the middle of summer the only time they are open on the weekends is 2-5 (right during naptime). In addition, they now make you pay twice to swim for the 3 hours time period that is parent child swim and rec swim. It does have a fun slide and some cool pools- including a sand area. They also have a great snack bar. read more

They charge parents to enter even if they aren't swimming. My son has autism and can't just be left unattended at a public pool. Unless I'm a paid caregiver for my son I am required to pay admission regardless of if I'm swimming or not. This is unethical as well as non-accessible for citizens with disabilities. Willamalane does not follow these criminal standards thankfully, but they only have indoor pools. read more

Note: I have only ever gone for lap swimming during not super busy times but this is my favorite pool ever. It has so many lanes and you get to share the pool with water polo practice, swim lessons, and master swimmers. This provides a lot of extra tips for improving form and extra entertainment to liven up the droll task of going 25 meters then turning around and then repeat for an hour. Also the pool is open into late fall and is heated. It is so amazing to be swimming outside during the fall and watching the leaves drop while taking a breather. I am currently a grad student at UO and way prefer this pool to the one on campus! My fiancee and I are waiting with great anticipation for opening day! read more

Great fun for all ages. UME grill is absolutely delicious (try the onigiri). Good assortment of pools and slides/diving boards. There isn't a lot of shade so if you don't do well in the heat, this is probably not the place for you on warm days. First off, way too many people. Second teenage workers are never a good idea. Don't even get me started on the concession stand. An enormous queue of annoying kids dripping water all over you. It took half an hour for three teenagers to make five snow cones. Five. On top of that, half the flavors were gone. After we finally got our snow cones, they tasted like ass. All natural really? I took one sip of the vanilla and nearly blew chunks. Today was also conveniently the boys and girls club day. Ridiculously full of adults running around the place yelling at kids to get on the bus. After being splashed and kicked in the incredibly crowded pools, and terrible concession service that only served Asian food, we left hopefully to never return. It's a shame we can't do negative stars. read more

Had a great first visit to the Amazon pool. If you love swimming outside without freezing in a lake or river, this is the place. There are several different pools for different ages etc- shallow, medium and deep for the diving and yellow tube hat dumps you out several feet above the water.There is also a jacuzzi-type spa for adults tha is much warmer than the pool. I went today which was a Friday afternoon in mid-August and it wasn't crowded at all. The locker room is clean and the showers were hot. Music played outside. The lockers take a quarter which gives you one time to put something in and one to take it out. If you want to get a comb or something before you shower and leave your bag in there you'll need another quarter. That was the only thing I found annoying but not enough to detract from the experience. Beats the H out of taking 10 minutes to get into a lake that's at least 20 degrees colder. The women's showers don't have curtains if you care but they have wall dispensers of soap. Too bad Amazon isn't open year round. I'd be happy to swim in the rain if the waters 80-85 degrees. read more
