This business demonstrated discriminatory treatment toward a special-needs individual. I've visited Lagoon Play Café in the Eugene/Springfield area multiple times over the past several months and recently even purchased a membership. During every visit, we've consistently supported the business by purchasing food and following all expectations. Today's experience, however, was extremely disappointing and concerning. I visited with my 14-year-old brother, who has special needs. While he is 14 chronologically, he functions at a much younger developmental level and has always played safely, appropriately, and kindly with other children during our many prior visits. We have been here at least six times since he turned 14, and his age has never once been raised as an issue before. Upon arrival, we were met with an unfriendly greeting, followed by confusion locating our membership despite providing our name multiple times. Once found, we were suddenly told that due to his age, he should not be allowed to play. This was surprising and upsetting given that this policy had never been enforced during any of our previous visits. I have also personally observed older children using the play area without issue. After I explained our situation--including the fact that we had driven over 30 minutes and that my brother was excited to be there--we were told we could "play today," only for the staff member to hesitate again, question minor details like grip socks (which we had), and then state she needed to get a supervisor due to uncertainty about charging. At no point was cost the issue--we were more than willing to pay. The inconsistency and reluctance to allow entry, despite initially saying yes, created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. What is most upsetting is not the existence of a rule, but the inconsistent enforcement of it. If there is a firm age policy, it should be clearly communicated and applied consistently to all guests. Selectively enforcing it--especially in a situation involving a special-needs individual who has previously been welcomed without issue--felt deeply unfair and lacking empathy. The people of Oregon, and especially the Eugene/Springfield community, have consistently been kind, inclusive, and welcoming in our experience--which is why this situation stood out so strongly. My brother left confused and disappointed after looking forward to this visit. I hope the business takes this feedback seriously and works toward clearer policies, better staff training, and a more inclusive approach moving forward.

Clean, many activities, and affordable fun! Every detail is so cute and thought out. My kids had a great time. Coffees from their cafe were good too, app was easy enough to order thru. There's a infant area and the rest of the play areas seems ideal for kids 2-8 Socks are $3 or bring your own grip socks. Since we're walking distance the only downside-stroller parking. There's enough for maybe 1-2 strollers, and there wasn't much help trying to figure out a solution for our stroller.

My kids favorite play place! It has a lot for little kids to do, I would say it's for ages 6 and under. It's pretty clean and has snacks

But I found Bounce has some open gym times and we jumped on it (oops, didn't actually mean the pun) this weekend. I think they have them regularly on the weekend and are having more during spring break. The place is great. There's a section that has about six trampolines and my kiddo loved that--her first time on a trampoline (and I'm definitely never going to have one of those in my backyard so she can enjoy it at a place like this). There were bars and rings, different heights for different kids, and other equipment for them to enjoy. Upstairs there was some stuff as well, and rumor had it there was a slide up there, but we didn't get up there. They open gym for different age groups; there's a preschool group for kids under 5 and then one for kids up to 12 or so. My daughter was probably the youngest here on this particular day but the other kids were careful of her and kind given she's at a different developmental stage as them. I bought a package of six open gym passes (it's six for the price of five) since they don't expire, so we'll either use them on this visit or carry some over to a future visit. They also have some merchandise, like leotards and stuff. After all, they are a gymnastics school. Kids must have their socks and shoes off when playing but adults can keep their socks on--adults have to be right there with their kids as they play--so there are some cubbies in one of the room to drop your stuff. Don't forget to put your shoes back on if you use the washroom though. The parking situation was confusing--even looking at the sign I still couldn't quite figure it out. Just remember to park in an unmarked space.

This is a great spot with so much stuff for littles to climb, push, bounce on, etc. and a big plus is that there are lots of trampolines so no turn waiting! The bathrooms are big and clean, and reception was nice when we came in. It's a little more expensive than the other place we frequent but Bounce does have more open gym times available so it's nice to have more options for most days of the week.

Tiny Tots is located within a church, but they are NOT affiliated and only rent the space. It is also a co-op, which means in addition to paying to join (very reasonable fee) you are required to complete a handful of duties to help keep things running smoothly here, but I think the extra commitment is fair and easy to do. It is only open/available from September - June, coinciding with the regular school year

At 11 months, he can't yet play with all of the toys, but he loves all of the open space to crawl and the soft blocks to climb on. He also really loves watching and following the bigger kids around. As a parent, I love having a playground that is safe and never too crowded as well as indoors when the weather is bad. I have gotten a few other families to join because it is nice to meet up there. We can relax a bit while the kids play rather than hosting a playdate at our houses. I also really like that it is a non-profit run by the parents and that it is co-op style, so everyone pitches in to keep the playground clean and well-run. It is nice to have a space we are all invested in.
