Amazon Fresh - North Hollywood we meet again! Often my go to Fresh in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley, though the location in Encino is much closer, I typically find most things I'm looking for here at great deals or reasonable prices. Service is sensational on the floor, in various departments and at check out. Typically they might have a greeter in front, though they had nobody here on New Year's Eve. A little disappointed in the reduction of vegan friendly pre-made meals as well as the hot bar, salad bar and some of the product placement. It took me forever to find crackers!! Not in the snack isle... But near the cookies and a few other items across from the last row of cold stuff, in the fridges. Typically Prime members (of Amazon) save more, but my total was exactly the same when I entered my number... Veggie Egg Rolls are vegan here and had I not been in the mood for much lighter, less fried eats, I would've gotten some... Though I've had them in the past. Hot Bar and Salad Bar are all pay/lbs which can be costly, though very similar to their partner Whole Foods. Great selection of frozen goods, spirits, produce, home goods, dairy as well as non-dairy products + more! Easy parking in the neighborhood, but even more so with their parking garage with Elevators to inside the store. I was in the area so I decided to stop by and check this store out. I was greeted by a nice lady the minute I walked in. She was very nice and friendly. Store was clean and well maintained. Shelves were fully stocked and it was easy to find the items I was looking for. For parking, this store has a parking garage and there is metered street parking available too. read more

I stopped by this Amazon fresh to look at holiday treats set since I was in the area. I park in their underground parking garage. There EV charging station here but there only two. There a decent amount of parking spots in the garage. The store is organized great, the produce is right at the entrance and the meat area is right in the middle toward the back. The cashier or self checkout is right next to where you walk up from the stairs or the entrance. The staff here are very nice and helped me get to the gifts area. There wasn't much options to choose from. So I just walked around the store to see what they had. Amazon Fresh has become my favorite "1 stop" grocery shopping place! They have everything here including meats, baked goods, fresh fruits & veggies, and packaged items. They even have a hot/cold ready to ready buffet area. The NOHO location is a bit smaller than the one in Encino, but just as good. The parking lot is located underneath the store. You can also park on the street. Take the elevator up 1 level from the garage to the store. *Yes, you can return your Amazon items here ~ and you will get a $10 coupon off your next grocery bill. ​​I come to this establishment all the time and so does my significant other. While I was checking out and next in line, an older male employee suddenly jumped in front of me. I told him I was next but he just stood there staring at me before asking if it was okay for him to cut in line while already standing in front of me with his item ready to be scanned. It didn't feel like he was genuinely asking, it felt like he was telling me. I ended up saying it was fine but the situation felt very disrespectful and uncomfortable. For a company that is supposedly on the cutting edge of getting people stuff they want fast and efficient - this place sure misses the mark. First off - they are always out of tons of stuff. I've seen cast empty holes on shelves for things like fairlife milk. Their entire Dr Pepper zero section. Their ice cream and Yasso bar section. Not sure if they are liquidating and going out of business. Or just struggling to keep supply balanced? The staff is completely unhelpful. Several times I've seen a patron struggle to try and pay (because this is the last place on earth that doesn't take Apple Pay) and been stuck in line for a long time. The last time I went. I switched lines only to have the lady say she was closing. I pointed and said "there's an issue at the only other open lane" to which she just shrugged and hinted at "too bad" and closed on me. I've tried self check. Get this. They encourage you using the Amazon app to pay. Fine. I have prime. But. There's no internet reception in the store. So I couldn't get the app to open and go to the QR code. The employees suggestion was I go outside. Load up the app. And come back in to pay! The place feels like a small Ralph's or something. Morning exceptional. I'll give them the free underground parking. Which is nice in a crowded area like noho. However, last time I was there the sliding door underground was broken. I had to physically ram it open. I've never used their weird self pay grocery carts or their hand scanners. I think they mostly don't work. I never see people using them. And the hand scanner seems creepy. I know AI is taking over. But that seems like I'm just giving them my soul. lol. All in all. Skip this place and go to Trader Joe's, Vons, Ralph's, Whole Foods, Gelson's. Literally any other option. Unless you live close by and it's a walk. I like the convenience of being able to scan each item before I place it in the cart, but cell reception and Wi-Fi are TERRIBLE at this location. Pulling up my in-store shopping QR code so the cart can scan it always takes way way way longer than it should. And whenever I try to make a return, pulling up the app so they can scan the return QR code takes forever. It's nice that you get a $10 off $40 coupon when you return stuff at Amazon Fresh but scanning the coupon code is also a nightmare. It's kind of shocking that a company as large as Amazon would allow such terrible cell and Wi-Fi reception, especially when so many functions at the store are dependent on their customers having a connection. I can see from other reviews that people have been complaining about the cell reception and Wi-Fi for a few years. The problem really should have been fixed by now. My wife and I shop here about once a week, and it's become our go-to grocery spot in North Hollywood. The store is clean, organized, and well-stocked most of the time (there have been some issues with the shelves being bare over the past few months, though). The in-house Amazon brand is surprisingly great, honestly better than a lot of other major store brands. Their produce and meat selections are fresh, and the variety of pantry items is excellent. Parking is plentiful, which is a huge plus in this part of town. The staff is friendly and helpful whenever we need a hand, and we've even grown to like the Dash Carts. They take a minute to get used to, but once you do, they're actually pretty convenient. The Prime deals and special sale days are where this place really shines, in my eyes. During Prime Big Deals or Prime Day events, the discounts are unmatched. Even outside those times, there are regular price drops on staples we buy often, which is much appreciated. That said, I've noticed prices creeping up lately, which has made my grocery bill noticeably higher. I don't think that's unique to this store; seems like it's happening everywhere, but it's worth mentioning. All in all, Amazon Fresh on Lankershim is a reliable, modern grocery store with great deals, solid quality, and an easy shopping experience. I love having this location so close to me. As a first time mom who works from home this grocery store gives me a reason to leave the apartment and go on a nice little walk with my baby. Shop here maybe every other week. The place always looks neglected. There are also always multiple shelves empty, price labels that do not match the item displayed, "out of stock" label with no price when item is clearly in stock. In addition, there is also a stock cart or an order cart inconveniently placed with in an aisle. Store associates are generally not friendly, especially at the return window. Today, there was a whole collection of nasty, moldy, slimy shiitake mushrooms. I don't know anything about mushrooms but I assume they are no longer good/safe to eat and that this didn't happen over night. I did not mention it to anybody since nobody seems to care here. It's gross and sad but I'll still shop here from time to time because prices are decent, produce is pretty good when it isn't melting from neglect, and unfortunately I use Amazon a lot. read more

I've been an Amazon Fresh since the pandemic. I order everything online grocery-wise thru them and have it delivered. I've now ventured into the brick and mortar store a couple of times and I love it! They have a ton of free parking underground that's incredibly convenient. Even during a huge street fest, I was able to find spots to shop. The staff is all so nice here! The lady in the front has been super helpful and going out of her way to assist. Other than her though, you can have as minimal interaction as you like with staff. Especially if you get a cart to scan as you go! Then you don't even have to check formally out with anyone, it's such an easy process. I am obsessed with the special scanning carts. Prices are not bad at all, everything is so organized - it's just a great grocery store. They do sell out of things though and don't have the hugest selection, but it does me just fine! Love the clearance section! I got some Valentine's candies for 75% off, yay. I want to come exclusively to this Amazon Fresh but it's so inconvenient for me. What is going on with this Amazon fresh? Every time I go in there it looks like the end of the world. Nothing is ever in stock, the hot food section is routinely closed, there is always a cooler (or 2) broken. It makes no sense. I went down today to get pizza and the sign said "no product in stock". What does that even mean? Aren't the pizzas hand-made? So somehow, you're out of dough, sauce, cheese AND toppings? At a grocery store? Also... why am I STILL being asked if I want to try a Dash Cart? The stores been open for over a year. If I wanted to try one, I would do it on my own. I really like Amazon Fresh! The atmosphere here is great! They currently have a great deal: buy one large bag of chips and get the second one for free! At checkout, they accidentally charged me $11.68, but when I showed the photo, the cashier quickly corrected it. The staff is amazing--very attentive and always ready to help! Keep in mind that they don't accept Apple Pay, so be sure to bring your card. The parking is convenient, with the entrance on Otsego St. As for prepared food, the selection is small but the quality is excellent. Definitely worth a visit! First time ever going to an Amazon Fresh and it was really interesting, we were greeted immediately by staff and asked if we needed help. I thought it was pretty cool you can choose a cart that you can scan and weigh fruits. It was clean inside! The only thing that took a bit was the check out only 1 walk thru so if 10 people paid you have to wait for them to walk thru and to make sure everything was scanned properly.. interesting story definitely something to try out! read more

As the primary shopper in the house for a family of 4, I pay attention to the prices of all local grocery stores in the area from Ralph's, Vons/Pavilions, Smart & Final, Target, Walmart, ALDI, etc. I often know where the best deals are, and Amazon Fresh used to be one of the worst for prices after I'd spent a quite a few visits to the store out of convenience and a bit of awe with their Dash cart. Their prices used to be so bad, that I eventually wrote them off. HOWEVER, I went back in somewhat recently to do an Amazon return. I've done a few but never paid any attention to their inventory due to me knowing their prices were really high. A few days prior, I'd been at Target to grab some Woolite, and my daughter texted me to buy a case of Fanta for her. So I went there and noticed that Target was charging $8.39 per 12-pack of 12oz cans. Granted they were offering a deal of 30% off if you buy 3 cases, which comes to $5.87 per case. That's Target's "deal". Now, back to Amazon on this very return trip I made, I decided to grab another case of soda for me. Amazon Fresh had my case of soda, and most of the other ones I'd just bought at Target for $5.39 each ...REGULAR PRICE! Now granted, that's still viewed as expensive to this 46yo old timer. But it's the best price I've found. Then I decided to look around the store again, and sure enough everything was cheaper ...way cheaper. I mean, I feel like these are ALDI prices now with brand names. Additionally, the new Dash carts are a lot better than the older ones. You just scan your in-store code to the cart from your Amazon App, and it'll charge your linked credit or debit card at the end. The Dash carts have an interactive screen to show you your running total, alert you to items on sale, and even have a built in scale for produce and hot bar weighing. The art knows what you put in and even knows when you remove something you decided to not buy. When you're done, you just need to walk straight through the Dash lane and it charges your card. You don't even need to stop, especially if you have your own bags. Not once have I experienced a WiFi issue in the store, although I'm 100% it can happen. But each visit I've made practically daily since I did that return has been solid and reliable. While the Dash cart is something I see as amazing, they also have conventional shopping carts and checkout lanes for those who appreciate going old school or are paying cash. Either is an option. So even if the Dash cart stops connecting to the network, you suddenly have a standard shopping cart and can check out in line like anywhere else. I don't understand how anyone could ever complain about something like that, should it happen. As for the hot bar, I wish they'd theme the available food better. It's weird to see potato wedges, chicken & dumplings, and orange chicken with nothing there to complement them (eg: fried rice). But they do have a huge hot soup selection at the hot bar, and their pizzas have become a favorite to my kids. At $8.99 for a full pie or $1.99 a slice, it's a no brainer when time is tight at night in the kitchen. Even their breaded chicken tenders, when available, were a favorite to my wife and kids: Well seasoned, and juicy. What really blew me and my wife away was their new sushi bar in the back. They make the rolls fresh, right there. I've had sushi like that from other grocery stores that had a funky, plasticy package taste to them. Not this. These rolls are on par with one's above average Los Angeles sushi restaurant in Los Angeles, with most rolls costing about $10 each, give or take, more or less. Each pack of sushi also contains ginger and green horseradish paste (aka: American wasabi). I also just discovered this afternoon that complimentary chopsticks and soy sauce packets are atop the bar. All that said as I'm sure I can go on and on, I've become a huge fan of my local Amazon Fresh again. They're not only back on my radar, but have taken the top spot for a quick grocery store trip. It is a smaller grocery store compared to local supermarkets, so don't expect bulkier items like "family size" boxes. But still, way cheaper. The staff has always been polite to me each visit. My wife and I were each thanked separately for using the Dash cart, and I've experienced plenty of highly engaging dialogue about my Seattle Seahawks (since I often wear the fan attire). I've never experienced a bad interaction with staff as of late, and I cannot recall if I ever have in the more distant past. Oh, one last thing: To compare Amazon Fresh's Coca-Cola 12oz 12-pack $7.89 price against others at the time I write this very review: Walmart is $8.12, Target is $8.39, Vons/Pavilions is $10.99, Smart & Final is $9.99, ALDI is $8.75, Ralph's is $10.99. This is just to give you some idea of their price differences in the North Hollywood & Burbank area. Amazon Fresh is WAY more affordable, and it's that way across the board. Smaller location than Pasadena. They offer a variety of grocery essentials. They do tend to be out of the necessities most of the times I visited. The staff restocking the store is very helpful. However, when it is time to check out they always have a long line even at self checkout due to their only being 1-2 cashiers. But they always have a greeter to deter theft. read more

The manager of the store is incompetent. The excuse for the internet not working for months (you can't shop without getting an in store code which requires internet and there's no cell service), is that people in the building are stealing access. The problem with his excuse is that there is a long list of technological ways around the is. They could create leases on DHCP that only last for 20 minutes and then time out. Everyone in the building would give up if that happened. They could change the password every day. Everyone in the building would give up on that. Just two things that would be easy for their customers to use for 10 minutes but incredibly annoying for people in the building trying to steal access. How about you? Tell everyone who is connected to their Internet connection one minute after the store closes is open to prosecution for theft services and then go after them? I can come up with 10 more. Turn the gain down on the transmitters so the connection is unusable beyond concrete walls. Why can't they? It is unacceptable and incredibly stupid that the store is allowed to stay open. It's a technology company that can't corral the world simplest technology. Infuriating incompetence. read more

Still giving this store and AF delivery 5 stars. Their prices save us so much money, the drivers are super friendly and helpful. Never have I had a missed item or an incorrect item that I remember. I did get a refund for some avocados that come almost frozen and then don't ripen correctly. Again, you cannot beat service or prices. One thing you have to check is expiration dates. Sometimes bargain items might have a close expiration date. I bought a can of Bush Beans and they expire in 3 weeks, but they are still ok and the price was FAB so you can't have everything. 5 Stars. read more

I tried 5 times to use the in-store code and 5 times I had to run outside to get a new code after it rang up invalid and the WiFi wasn't working. Luckily the store associate was really nice, but even he acknowledged that this is a regular occurrence. They have deals every day at food counter. Today hot sandwich and small soup $8. Got brisket sandwich and chicken noodle soup. Brisket Comes with cheese, onions and pickles, I removed the pickles as I do not like them. Brisket tender and rich flavor, grilled sourdough bread was nice touch. This is a good size sandwich. Chicken Noodle Soup Broth had good flavor, just the right amount of salt. Good blend of chicken, carrots, celery and noodles. The noodles are really good, not overcooked. Coffee machine that u can make cappuccinos, mochas, cortados etc. Large $2. Good quality. Groceries in general. Large selection amazing. Great customer service at the food counter. Great customer service at Amazon Hub. Cashiers seem to hate their jobs, been here a few times in the last few days. read more

The store is actually in a great location but is poorly run, poorly stocked and has a huge issue with dogs and homeless people. I watched a dog take a piss 3x, this was not a service dog. Just a customer's random dog peeing on the corners of boxes of produce. I understand service dogs... Homeless people steal stuff right and left, it's like they are free to walk around, touch and take whatever they want ... I just got back from Amazon Prime Day at Amazon Fresh in North Hollywood. Besides being overcrowded, most of the "loss leader" items were out of stock. The advertising was tricky, as it was in small print certain flavors or varieties. Those turned out to be the least popular ones or right next to a popular flavor that was full price. For example, there was either just one flavor of a product like Apple Carrot Nutrigrain bars or just one of 35 varieties of Campbell soup. One product was not scanning at the right price, and it was an ordeal to get this corrected at the checkout. I've never seen so many employees on the floor doing absolutely nothing. Barely any restocking of the half-empty shelves. It looked like they were doing an inventory during a big sale. Amazon Fresh still has issues with their cut vegetables and fruit that look like they have been sitting out there for days. I only go when there is a $20 for $40 coupon as the pricing of this store can be more expensive than similar stores. read more

I recently saw an 8-pack of diet coke for 5.19 (I believe). It was on sale at Food 4 Less for 6.99. On sale! And that's just one example. I find the staff to be quite helpful, especially Jefferson. Not only was he enthusiastic but he made our experience fun. He sold us on using Amazons futuristic shopping cart. He took the time and demonstrated how the cart works. When I was all done with my shopping, instead of waiting in line for a cashier or self check out, (as he put it) "we just strut like John Travolta thru the carts special lane and when the disco lights on the cart light up, we are done."
