I wanted to try Amazing Alheri's official location after I got a delicious meal from them at the 2024 Palo Cedro Honey Bee Festival! I had the chicken and rice there with the zobo tea and was so impressed buy it! I got the beef this time and it was equally as delicious! Comes with potatoes, rice and cooked plantain! Filling and yummy and would definitely come back for more again! Really happy this cultural and unique restaurant is in Redding and such nice people there! I don't know anywhere else you can get African food in the area and it's so good!

I finally tried Amazing Alheri today after hearing about it on the news and social media, and it did not disappoint! I tried about half of their menu, and everything I got was delicious. It's definitely a great addition to Redding's culinary scene. Jollof & Chicken - I've had many variations of "chicken & rice" throughout my life, but this one stood out with such a unique flavor profile. The chicken was very tender and the rice had great flavor. Oftentimes, from other places, either the chicken or the rice lacks flavor, however all parts of this dish were very well-seasoned without being overpowering. Poundo & Eguisi - This is described as "spinach cooked with African melon seeds with beef and West African spice medley." Again a very unique flavor profile and the included Poundo (pounded yam) added another dimension to the dish. The meat was tender and it was a very filling dish. Puff Puff - This fried dough dessert was a perfect end to a great meal. While not as revolutionary as the other dishes, I thought it was tasty and a good portion for the price. Zobo - Infused Tea w/ hibiscus, ginger, pineapple, cinnamon, and cloves. Very refreshing with a slight kick (from the ginger). Think Pressed, but better. Portion sizes are also generous for the price. The menu may look intimidating to first-timers, but the owners (and Redding locals) Charity & Koby are very welcoming and will explain the menu to those unfamiliar with West African cuisine (not to be mistaken with East African cuisine such as Ethiopian). They're currently open every Saturday from 12pm-5pm in the "Sizzle's Kitchen" space in downtown Redding (after regularly appearing at the Redding Farmer's Market last year).
