I first visited the salon after I found them on Instagram. I don't often find that colorists are able to achieve my desired blonde & was very hesitant to see a new colorist. Ashley and I had a consult and I realized my hair goals were not in line with what I thought I had wanted but that I needed to change my approach on the coloring process to achieve my desired look. But that's why there's professionals like Ashley. My hair came out great. I wish I had a before picture but I only have an after picture. Amanda and her team are absolutely amazing! I was able to get a consultation with Amanda and I didn't really know what I wanted but I knew I wanted long hair. I had a few pictures that I showed her and she quickly pinpointed exactly what I wanted by asking me questions and we decided on a blond hair color and hair extensions. I really liked the fact that she took my lifestyle and budget into consideration. She is very educated and I felt totally comfortable with her. On the day of my hair color service, the assistants were very attentive and I didn't have to wait on Amanda. She was on time which was a pleasant surprise. She worked a total of 3 hours to correct my hair color and it turned out absolutely amazing!!! Way better than the picture I showed her!! And she assured me that if I love my hair now, I will really love it in the future because she blended it with my natural color. She paid attention to every concern that I had and really listened to me. Finally, it came time for my hair extensions. We decided on the weft hair extensions since I showed her pictures of long, full hair that I see on Instagram. Not only did she nail my hair color but you can't even tell I have hair extensions in. Ashley does my hair regularly and she is truly talented. She has an eye for mixing color and most of the time I just tell her to do whatever she wants and it always turns out looking great! She has the ability to look at what color my hair is and what blend would go best and it's never looked bad. Ashley has also been doing my extensions and they always look amazing. Having extensions helps my hair look more full and longer and it also adds color dimension without damaging my hair with product! I love having them. I once went to a blow dry bar and the stylist looked at my hair (within a month of Ashley coloring and adding extensions) and he said, "tell this girl she has a remarkable gift and should keep doing what she's good at". I came to Alexis with a pandemic crisis where my hair was completely disroyed. Alexis was honest and realistic with what it would take to get back to what i want. Cons: Not really a con, but worth noting-If you want Amanda as your stylist, a 10-15 minute consult must be booked first. I appreciate this rule, and respect Amanda wants to get it right the 1st time. On August 8th, I went in for my consultation with Amanda. I have been growing out a pixie cut for about a year, and am completely unhappy with the way it looks (style and color). I walked in without a picture, or any idea of what I wanted, but in about 2 minutes of talking with Amanda, she was able to pinpoint exactly what we needed to do! I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to snag an appointment with her the following Saturday, August 11th. I arrived precisely at 1:30, which was my appointment time and was able to sit in the chair and get to work! It was refreshing that didn't have to sit there for 30 min to an hour while she finished another client. As we all know, that happens far too frequently in SoFla (and is super annoying!). I received a perfect cut and color and was out within 2 hours. The whole time I was there, I felt like I was in good hands. She is a professional and knows her stuff. The most important quality in a stylist is confidenc, and I enjoyed watching Amanda work her magic on my hair. 100% confident! Overall, my experience with the Amanda Major, The Studio was positive. I searched the internet for "best blond salon" near me and found Amanda Major. I previously had a single process and then highlights that left me brassy. Once my hair grew a bit I tried Amanda Major for correction. I worked with Ashley and she is great. The color was at first too white for me, but Ashley fixed that right away in the chair. She also cuts per my request for "not too much" since I'd like it to grow. She and the entire staff are fabulous. Love this salon. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. I have never reviewed a place in my life but this was well deserved. Amanda and I had a consultation that went well and I was told I can get what I wanted. I was told I had to sign a contract for services. I had a change of schedule and ended up working with Ashley. I asked for a blonde balayage and was told it was possibly a two session process. I asked to do what could be done in one session and if I wanted more I would be back. Ashley did a partial highlight like I asked. The finished product was practically identical to what I came in for and i was charged 300 dollars. I expressed my concerns to Ashley and she was defensive of her work not listening at all to client concerns or wants. I emailed Amanda about my disappointment asking if I could come in to fix my hair as I had been overcharged for something I was not happy with. I attached pictures and was cordial. Amanda was incredibly rude saying that I was contradicting my self by saying Ashley did a good job but I wasn't happy. (It's possible to both be good at your job but not deliver). I explained this and again asked if I could come in to get a retouch to the final product I want. Amanda told me that I should not return because she didn't feel we were a good fit. Amanda and Ashley violates their end of the contract but not getting me remotely close to what I asked for and refusing to fix it. I will actively make sure people do not go anywhere near this salon. read more

I had gone to Amanda Major about 3 times to get my hair colored. Alexis who serviced me was very kind. I was going to cover grey hair colored. This last time I went I realized I still had a lot of grey close to my roots. I called up very nicely and they had me come in again. Alexis colored my hair again at no charge and I tipped her $30. My hair was slightly wet when I left and I mistakingly did not thoroughly check my hair. I realized again the next day that all of the grey was still there. I very nicely sent a text stating the issue and telling them that I did not want to come in again, as I did not think it would be good for my hair but when I do come in the future perhaps I could get a discount on my service. Amanda sent me back stating that she would refund my money and that I should find another salon. Her "clean products" did not work on my hair. She was correct, however I felt it to be a passive aggressive statement, especially since my hair is very fine, straight hair. There is nothing unusual about it. It hit me that Amanda, as an owner never came up to me and introduced herself, or apologized when I came in the second time for the fix. She did not make an effort as an owner to make the clients feel comfortable despite being in the shop. I get the feeling she really does not care. I will gladly go to a salon where my business is appreciated. Alexis was very nice. read more

Amanda and her staff are the best in the business. Amanda has been trained all across the world to perfect her craft and she's done just that. I've never had my hair color look so natural and healthy. It's hard to find a good blond colorist as well as extension specialist and Amanda exceeded all of my expectations. My hair has never been this healthy. She is able to blend your hair with the extensions better than I've ever seen before. Amanda and her staff are the sweetest and go above and beyond to achieve what you want. Amanda is also realistic with what she can achieve during your appointment which is great!
