I have unruly curly hair and new to the year-round humidity :-) On my first visit Michelle didn't try to oversell me and suggested an express keratin so I could have fabulous hair for my honeymoon. I was very nervous but she promised I would still have curls (I did!) that were manageable (they were!) as well as an easier time blowing my hair straight (true!). The second visit I only got a cut and we discussed my goals going forward. My curls are like they've never been before and for the 1st time in my life I'm happily embracing them! Her product recs were great too! Bonus - she cut my husbands hair and beard (he never trusts anyone with his beard!) both times and did an outstanding job. I don't like to bash anyone especially businesses but if I could give this salon 0 stars I absolutely would. I walked in with long hair past the bra line. I had an appointment for a Balayage, Cut & Blow Dry which on their website it stated it was $225. It took 5 hours! Never had any balayage I've ever done taken 5 hours. They chopped my hair up so horribly I cried the whole way home. It looks so incredibly bad. The pictures don't even show the full extent on how bad my service was. To top it off, they charged me EXTRA because they said the "website was outdated" which by law if it's advertised it must be honored. When I brought this up to the front desk, she said they charged me $40 extra for toner that I never agreed to. It saddens me, I've been here previously years ago and it wasn't the same. TAKE A READ AND SEE PICTURES DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! So, I went in to get my hair highlighted. I wanted to add some blonde into my hair. Once I came in Rachel was nice to me, but as I went on there was certain things she was doing that I've NEVER would expect a 35 year old hair stylist to do. She colored my hair, didn't do the blonde I asked her to do, she went a few shades lower then what I requested. Didn't keep my hair under the lamp for very long, and couldn't figure out how to even use the thing or how hot it needed to be. And then after washing my hair out she was brushing my hair with this brush in which the prongs were all destroyed and ripping my hair out. You're not supposed to get tangled out while your hair is wet and she was RIPPING MY HAIR OUT. I asked her if that was normal she told me yes. After the math she didn't even dry my hair, and as I was looking at it my hair looked NO different then when I came in, it was extremely ugly. (Look at pictures) so I requested them to redo it since it looked NOTHING like what I asked for. They charged me 80$ for a partial highlights even though my hair looked no different, but I paid anyways AND left a 20$ tip. Now, for when I redid the appointment again..... (KEEP READING!!!) I walk in, Rachel was LATE. And when she walked in she walked right past me, didn't say a WORD to me, and after five minutes of her standing in front of my chit-chatting. She looks at me and goes oh hey, come take a seat... so I go take a seat. She says nothing. I told her so I want more blonde like what I showed you in the picture. She looks at me and says MHM, and goes to the back. I sit there, and she works on my hair doesn't say anything to me for the 2.5 hours it did my hair. LITERALLY not one word... and then has another lady wash my hair and make conversation with me. She also made a rude comment about me under her breath which I let go because I already wanted to get the hell out of there... after washing my hair out, it looks more blonde and seems better but they didn't take the time to blow dry my hair to see if it was right this time ESPECIALLY since this was a correction appointment!!!!!!! So my hair was dripping wet walking to my car. Charged me another 85$ and I came to the conclusion that I will Not Be tipping Rachel. After I get home I realize my hair is horrible, looks nothing of the hat I requested, and I wanna ant my money back. Will never recommend this place, horrible customer service, hate my hair, and unfortunately I have to deal with it now. read more

I truly truly truly wished my experience was better because the salon and staff the majority of the staff were so kind. I had called for an appointment day of and they were able to accommodate me quickly and texted me with the name of the stylist I would be working with. However, upon arrival, I was given to another stylist, but hey, no big deal. My stylist was really nice and we were able to chat. It was a little weird for me because for part of the hair cut she had me stand while she cut my hair and I've honestly never had a haircut like that. The lady who washed and shampooed my hair barely spoke 3 words to me (separate from the stylist) and was surprised at the end when I was asked to tip her. I did anyways because I received a service she provided, however, I found it really rude to not even provide simple customer service or a smile. Oops, lost track of my story. Back to the hair cut- the cut itself was great and exactly what I was looking for. What went wrong was when I asked for a style. I asked specifically for beach waves, but what I received instead was anything but a beach wave. A simple google image search would show you a beach wave. Harper's Bazaar magazine defines beach wave as "Beachy waves should be rumpled and fuzzy--but not too frizzy. They should look windswept but still soft and brushable. Basically, they're a study in contradictions, a perfect mess of beautiful bends". The stylist insisted she knew what a beach wave was and even after I had said the style was not what I expected and asked her to fix it, it was still not a beach wave. She insisted that at the end of the day the beach waves would come out, but my hair was basically fried and poofy because of how the hair was curled at the ends. If you look at the pictures I posted, the style I ended up with were ringlet curls that we stiff and concentrated at the end of my hair, creating a style that made my face look rounder and the curls were not soft, relaxed, or brushable. The other picture I posted were beach waves I had done after a haircut somewhere else where you can see how relaxed the hair is and the hair looks light and a little messy. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the staff is extremely nice. However the service was not. I was getting my hair lifted and I acknowledge that I did have a color in before which I told them and they saw as well. But it took about seven hours and nothing was lifted and they didn't have any solutions. After the process my hair was DEAD. I dye my hair often and never have I ever had my hair die like this,it always been very healthy. Now my ends are dead and breaking as well as when I brush my hair I have a lot of loss. I have been going here for a few months. Every time I go the price changes for both color and the highlights. I had been going to the same person for years until she moved away and never had to use a toner. I used Amanda the owners daughter If she doesn't get her your highlights right too brassy , too light, red she Will charge you $35 for a toner to fix her mistakes without asking. She doesn't take responsibility for her mistakes. She will say it was how your hair processed it, not the fact that she left on too long or to short of time. Maybe she should take a course in highlights how do it right. If you want your hair colored look elsewhere. Amateurs at best. Also they bad mouth other salons, which is beyond unprofessional. Also the first time I went she ruined photos for my sons bar mitzvah as she made my hair too dark she thought so too but did nothing about it! read more

Amanda saved me from my mid-life hair crisis. I had bad two experiences many years ago and swore to never let anyone color, highlight, etc. my hair, but I broke down a few weeks ago when job interviewing and based upon some of the pictures on their yelp page I decided I had to do something. I had no idea what to ask for when I scheduled my appointment; she not only kept me from making another color mistake, she graciously took the extra time to educate me and explain my options to make sure I made the best decision and I looked fabulous. They have earned my business. Everyone obviously respects each other and most importantly in any service business the customers. Several times other employees helped lend a hand and everyone goes above and beyond. Carly even shortened an elderly man's hair when his ride came back in and requested it shorter (I assume for convenience's sake because he looked pretty sharp). Well, so I went to color my hair lighter. I had a brassy dark brown color and I wanted lighter or at least even and thinking about getting highlights later. They told me they can not go lighter since I have darker hair so they recommend toner to get the brassy spots away , specially if I was planning to get highlights later. I was disappointed because I wasn't looking for toner but permanent color a little lighter just to make my hair even which I knew it can be done cause I've done it before. But, well I accepted cause maybe they were right if I wanted highlights. Jacqueline was my colorist that day and she didn't have time that morning to do my highlights so she worked with the toner and I made an appointment for next day for the highlights. MY COMPLAINT is that the entire time, from the consultation to the end, Jacqueline (although very nice young girl.... the older lady in the front is very rude!) she consulted other stylists for everything. She didn't know what toner use or how to get my hair even. The Other stylist was the one telling her what color and amounts to use and how. So, I decided to cancel my next appointment cause as you can imagine I wasn't going to let a lady who really doesn't know how to color do my hair. For a toner and other product they put in my hair for 4 minutes each they charge me $80, no permanent color, no blowout, no even hair color. JUST for a toner and other thing they put on my hair and a very un knowledge stylist. OH AND SHE DID All OF THAT WHILE I WAS SITTING WHERE THEY SHAMPOO you!!!!!
