We've been looking forward to this for days. Turns out we even over-dressed. Technically our second Polish meal in Southeast Michigan and it was fabulous. One descriptor says they serve a Polish fare in an old world atmosphere complete with classical music. Couldn't have said it better. Our new friend Michael explained everything possible to us and made sure every detail was handled all night. Made for a spectacular experience. Schnitzel to pierogis to kielbasa, it was all a triumph. Our group passed around six different dishes and they were all exceptional. Perhaps I've been too hasty in my judgement of this cuisine? Something to put on your bucket list is this Bigos dish. It's Polish hunter's stew and it is out of this world! Ya gotta like sauerkraut. Know that you'll pay $30+ per person and the portions are small. It's presentation and taste. Money worth spending for the experience. 11/24

I didn't get a photo of the main course, but everything I tried here was amazingly good. I wasn't expecting anything when I came but I was blown away. I highly recommend the salad sampler and any of the placeks as an appetizer. Everything was so flavorful and they gave us quite a lot of food for what it was worth. We weren't planning on getting the dessert but it looked too good to pass out on. The server did seem a little agitated at first but he did tell us they were short staffed which is completely understandable but it is such a cute place with a great atmosphere.

I've eaten here twice in the past 3 months while visiting the area. They serve Central European food (Poland, Austria, Hungary). The first visit was a solid 5 star experience. The interior is a bit dated (it's kinda feels like eating in an antique shop), but the food and service were fantastic. So good that I insisted we go back on our most recent visit. This past trip, we ordered the farmers cheese & potato pierogi, but they had no cheese in them. We told our waiter that our pierogis tasted like they didn't have farmers cheese and his response was "oh they have cheese in them". Ummm, ok. The rest of the food we ordered was very good but our server that night continued to be forgetful with our orders and seemed to have an attitude. Despite the inconsistent service and dated interior, this is a good spot for Polish food if you can't travel into Detroit for some.

3.5 stars We stopped in for dinner during our visit. There were only 2 tables occupied when we got there, so we were sat immediately. Our server greeted us quickly and with a "Bonjour." The menu seems mostly Polish/Hungarian. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks, taking our time and not feeling rushed. We ordered potato pancakes and pierogies. The pancakes were pretty good, not great. The pierogies were excellent, but we were not given the ones we ordered (there were about 6 options), which was okay since they were still good. As I am unable to eat onions, I kept asking our server if dishes contained onions or if they could be made without. He kept going in the back and twice came back and said I am not sure. Really, come on. I settled for my 4th choice, the Kielbasa, which was very good, but not what I really wanted. I did have a very good beer. In summary, there are better places in Ann Arbor for dinner.

I liked the decor and feel of this place, food was hit or miss. Dill pickle soup was good, so was the bread basket. Hungarian pancakes were decent. Polish platter was good but portion was on a smaller side. Goulash was ok - a bit blend. They have a pretty big dessert menu -do try! Lemon tart was great (and this is coming from someone who doesn't like lemon tarts :). ) hazelnut tart was delicious. However, Napoleon wasn't a classic recipe I expected , so wasn't my favorite. Cherry liquor shot was yummy!

Pork cutlet: 3.5/5 Not bad but in comparison to everything else, I think I'd opt for something else!

I should've looked at the inside pictures more. My bad. :( The woman that runs a shop is sweet and friendly and helpful. She does events for the local kids and veterans. She also has classes for date nights and other events, for anyone that wants to learn how to make pierogi. The pierogi are all frozen, order and pay at the front counter. All orders are bagged. A small sheet of paper to give instructions on how to cook the pierogies in a pan with some butter. Suggested to eat with some sautéed onions and or sour cream for some. I got the chicken pot pie, the mushroom and mozzarella, cheddar, the potato and garlic, sauerkraut and mushroom, sauerkraut and onion. $87.04 The chicken pot pie comes with gravy and some crumbs to put on top. They have 25 different flavors, however, they were out of many and sold out , especof all the extra fellas. We cooked up the pierogi, sautéed some onions, kielbasa, kraut. We ate the potato and mushroom and mozzarella pierogi with the onions, cream cheese or sour cream. Pierogi took about 6-8 minutes on medium heat on the stovetop to brown some. The mushroom wasn't my favorite, as the mushrooms would gush out some water from it, was a rather unexpected experience, not for me. The mushroom and cheese were decent. The kraut and onion and the chicken pot pie fell apart somewhat during the cooking and flipping for us. The potatoes were as expected, not too bad.

Growing up in a Polish household I've had my share of pierogi, glabki, kielbasa, and city chicken…read more Outside of Hamtramck there's still a large Polish community in the suburbs and no shortage of Polish restaurants and markets. Since my uncle was in town visiting from Washington state and hasn't had home cooked Polish food in a long time we decided to have a mini family reunion here. Wawel Royal Castle is part of the Polish Cultural Center. They have a separate dining area but they also can host different events. The evening we were there, a Sunday, they had ballroom dancing going on in the hall part. We were quickly seated and our waitress was a young lady who was new and had never made a Cosmopolitan or a dirty martini. She asked us to be patient while she attempted to try. She did a great job! We started with the pierogi platter for the table. It came on a charcuterie board and there was 16 pierogis. Talk about hitting the pierogi jackpot! These were melt in your mouth delicious. We all tried combo plates for our main entrée. Everything from the city chicken to the glabki (stuffed cabbage) was excellent. They did not have fresh sausage but did have smoked sausage. That was the only thing that wasn't that great. It tasted like Ekrich. Other than that the food and the service was fantastic. Very authentic and reasonably priced. Come hungry because the portions are large.
