    Polish Platter

This place has charm that is hard to resist. More than 6 years after my first visit, it's time for an update. I have since been for brunch (which isn't currently offered) and recently decided to return for dinner. Arriving on a chilly weekday night, we were promptly seated and chose a table towards the back to avoid the draft near the door. I had reviewed the menu in advance and had an idea of what I wanted. My companions chose different dishes and we were all able to share. We started with the large pierogi plate and sampled a little of each. The variety was fun and the flavors were all well-balanced. Next came the light dinner salad with a side of homemade buttermilk ranch, a great segue to a heavier entree. I got the cabbage rolls but also was able to sample the kielbasa and the chicken. I actually think the kielbasa would be my pick next time, or even the polish plate so that I could have those plus the cabbage rolls. We couldn't resist dessert, and for a chocolate mousse and a mango dessert to share. The mango won hands-down for flavor and light texture. I would definitely recommend Amadeus for those looking for a very unique and cozy dining experience in Ann Arbor!

I didn't get a photo of the main course, but everything I tried here was amazingly good. I wasn't expecting anything when I came but I was blown away. I highly recommend the salad sampler and any of the placeks as an appetizer. Everything was so flavorful and they gave us quite a lot of food for what it was worth. We weren't planning on getting the dessert but it looked too good to pass out on. The server did seem a little agitated at first but he did tell us they were short staffed which is completely understandable but it is such a cute place with a great atmosphere.

I've eaten here twice in the past 3 months while visiting the area. They serve Central European food (Poland, Austria, Hungary). The first visit was a solid 5 star experience. The interior is a bit dated (it's kinda feels like eating in an antique shop), but the food and service were fantastic. So good that I insisted we go back on our most recent visit. This past trip, we ordered the farmers cheese & potato pierogi, but they had no cheese in them. We told our waiter that our pierogis tasted like they didn't have farmers cheese and his response was "oh they have cheese in them". Ummm, ok. The rest of the food we ordered was very good but our server that night continued to be forgetful with our orders and seemed to have an attitude. Despite the inconsistent service and dated interior, this is a good spot for Polish food if you can't travel into Detroit for some.

3.5 stars We stopped in for dinner during our visit. There were only 2 tables occupied when we got there, so we were sat immediately. Our server greeted us quickly and with a "Bonjour." The menu seems mostly Polish/Hungarian. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks, taking our time and not feeling rushed. We ordered potato pancakes and pierogies. The pancakes were pretty good, not great. The pierogies were excellent, but we were not given the ones we ordered (there were about 6 options), which was okay since they were still good. As I am unable to eat onions, I kept asking our server if dishes contained onions or if they could be made without. He kept going in the back and twice came back and said I am not sure. Really, come on. I settled for my 4th choice, the Kielbasa, which was very good, but not what I really wanted. I did have a very good beer. In summary, there are better places in Ann Arbor for dinner.

    Dill pickle soup

I liked the decor and feel of this place, food was hit or miss. Dill pickle soup was good, so was the bread basket. Hungarian pancakes were decent. Polish platter was good but portion was on a smaller side. Goulash was ok - a bit blend. They have a pretty big dessert menu -do try! Lemon tart was great (and this is coming from someone who doesn't like lemon tarts :). ) hazelnut tart was delicious. However, Napoleon wasn't a classic recipe I expected , so wasn't my favorite. Cherry liquor shot was yummy!

Pork cutlet: 3.5/5 Not bad but in comparison to everything else, I think I'd opt for something else!

They serve dinner on Friday nights and the food is very good. Everything is fresh because they do not serve dinner the rest of the week, so you know that whatever you are getting is top quality and freshly made. I have had their venison dinner, which is excellent, their roasted chicken, which is surprisingly delicious for how simply it is prepared and I love their specials. The prices are great and a whole family can have an amazing, delicious meal at about half the price of a comparable meal at the next closest Hungarian restaurant. Another great thing about this place is that they actually try to teach others about their culture as opposed to just being a cultural center for tax benefits. They offer Hungarian dance classes for children that are so unique and well taught that I am happy I can bring my daughter, even though it is a long way from my house. Although I do not speak Hungarian, nobody has made me feel out of place and since my daughter has Hungarian heritage from her father's side, I appreciate that she is able to experience and explore this lovely culture through their cultural center and their activities.

Lauri laughs when I say it smells like Ohio when walking in; woody and old and alive in all its dim lighting and kitsch. tables are nice for groups but it's just us so we sit at the bar and we get a Packo's Feast plus an extra cabbage roll - we're here catching up so 'food' was more of a place for meeting than a reason, but get an extra cabbage just the same. hand rolled seasonal beefs and porks and rice wrapped in cabbages and simmered in a thick tomatoey sauce, plated lightly sauced with hot pickles on the side - man these are good. the hot dogs are more like smoke sausage than weiners and split because that's how it's done; plus onions, kraut, and yellow mustard (just like god intended) under a generous slather of dog sauce plus hot pickles on the side. cup of chili comes with an equal amount of baby oyster crackers in second a bowl. now i shall spend the afternoon musing on a simpler place in time. the last law of thermodynamics states that food is cold at the same temperature where beer is warm. but good food will still be good at room temperature or even out of the fridge (a few items test the hypothesis but don't break it) so sit and talk and listen, the food will still be there and still be good...

The last time we were in a Sylvania Tony P's was 30 years ago back on Monroe Street. Same great food as always and an added feature that I'm sure we'll take advantage of: a drive-thru. I can't comment on the crowd size because we arrived to an empty restaurant at 2:00pm on a Thursday. But it's a pretty good sized room with plenty of seating and it's spotless. We both had the #1 which is hot dog/drink and a side. Both got the dumplings which were fantastic. I got a second dog for two bucks, that way I was sure do over indulge and be too full to walk. lol This location also has a complimentary mini-pickle bar with sweet and original pickles. I hope T. Packo doesn't read this and discover my wife ate over a dozen sweet pickles. For what it's worth...we did buy a case of pickles. If you buy twelve, two of those are free! Just gets better and better!
