After visiting Ionia for the Hippie Festival at the fairgrounds, I wanted to stay in town to eat dinner before heading home. Was happy to find they had an Alibi here as I've ate at others in the past. They had an outdoor patio which I would normally take advantage of, but Saturday it was way too hot. So we sat inside and it was nice & cool. We had an awesome server-Sidney. She was so bubbly and prompt, knowledgeable about menu. We both ordered the chicken strips and fries. "Arnold Palmers" to drink. Liked the fact that the fries were included with the strips. The strips looked different than I've ever had before, so wasn't sure looking at them, but they were good. Loved the fries. Even had a choice of applesauce or cole slaw with it! (All for $10.95) People coming and going. Attentive staff. Worth checking out when in the area!

I love this place. This visit (during the pandemic) my husband got the shrimp basket and I got the Mrs. Chutney with sweet potato fries. Mrs. Chutney was just as good as she usually is and the sweet potato fries did not disappoint, they are some of the best I have ever had. My husband enjoyed his shrimp too. I was super impressed when we were met at the door by a gal that was taking temperatures. It looked like she had a box of masks to hand out too, but I didn't pay close attention to that because I had my own. The tables were all spaced to maintain social distancing and were void of any condiments unless you asked for them. All of the staff had on face coverings and they were worn properly. Service was super speedy and friendly. I can't wait to go back. During this pandemic they have special days and hours that they are open so you might want to call in advance before you go. We ended up going on a Friday night at around seven and we got immediate seating.

The beautiful Hopslam beer from Bells brewing in this exquisite tulip glass.

Foods pretty good and the drinks match. Nice atmosphere and not too much noise all around decent bar

Schnitzel more like chicken fried steak. Nice and crunchy outside fair gravy. Not very European tasting

Best place in Ionia to eat. Off the beaten path but worth finding. We always split the fish basket with extra sweet potato fries.

I chose River House Grill this trip since it was a beautiful night, and on the water. While getting off the interstate and heading in to town, I noticed this eerie presence, nothing was open, signs were dark, stop lights not working... I got to River House and a few regulars were still milling around the bar, I was told they were closed due to a power outage throughout the entire city. After some conversation, they said if I had cash, I could still buy a beer (always carry cash!). The regulars moved on, and I was finishing my drink when the power comes back on! The owner Mike had already sent most of his staff home, as the estimated power restoration was well beyond their normal operating hours, but he said he would turn the fryers back on, and start the pizza oven since I was there. I told him he didn't have to and I would head back to East Lansing, but he insisted, at this point I was the only one in the place! Ordered a pizza, and boy was it delish! By the time my pizza had arrived, a few others had managed to come in and fill up the place! Thanks to Mike, Jen (bartender) and the staff who stayed! I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu, and see the renovations next time I'm in the area! Cheers!

Ryan's is where you go when your crowd is too big for the your hole-in-the-wall hometown dive bar or when you're feeling fancy. It is a large space with bar and table seating. Depending on where you enter, you might have to go around the bar to find the host, just keep going. You'll find the seating. If you're in need of a banquet (up to maybe around 100 people?), they also have a well-appointed basement that you can rent, and they will cater your event. Back to the standard bar-restaurant area, they now have digital menus which work well, and they will teach you how to use them. There are specials on the landing page, and then sections for burgers, sandwiches, meals, etc. A wait person will still take your order and handle substitutions, requests, and recommendations. Service is solid, and the food is good. The menu is a bit too broad for it to be great food, but they do a wide variety of things surprisingly well, so you're safe ordering almost anything, though I would question the salad bar, not from Ryan's perspectives, but the guests. Cheers.

The servers were moving fast trying to take care of all the tables!! The drink menu is good but I was disappointed in the draft craft beer selection. I opted for a canned beer. Our appetizer came out quickly which was the feta dip. It was amazing and served with some delicious breads and veggies! We split the chicken Schwarma which had excellent flavor. The chicken and rice were moist and tasty. It came with grilled vegetables and humus with a huge piece of pita. More than enough for us both. Taziki sauce added to the experience. I ordered a margarita and it was lackluster, tasting of mostly bitter sour mix more than anything else. For food the sexy fries ended up feeling not so sexy, but rather greasy because of the cheese on top. They still tasted great though. The nachos with gyro meat was delicious, and the nachos are pita bread like a deconstructed gryo sandwich. The feta dip was also yummy especially on the assortment of veggies and breads paired with it. Noticed they serve a brunch and happy hour on the way out, so would definitely come back to this place and try a different drink and an entree next time as the staff were friendly and helpful.
