To start, it comes with a rack of ribs, salad, and a jacket potato (baked potato) with a curry butter sauce. Honestly, my mouth is drooling just thinking about it. STUNNING combination, truly. The ribs are sauced well without too much additional sauce on it and they have cans for you to put the rib bones in after, and they come around with more ribs on silver platters should you decide to continue eating! You can also ask for more of the sides or the curry butter if your potato's run out of it. It's a fun place to go with a big group or anyone who enjoys all you can eat or ribs or just meat in general. They have plenty of seating and interesting decor. They also accept card! read more

I went with my husband and a friend of us, and the shift's supervisor/manager (describing objectively was from Indian or Pakistani origins) very cold, rude, and kicked off people for the restaurant for only asking to change their seat. He and the female manager were not replying to people requests. Even we tried to joke with another waiter serving our table, and he took the joke very bad, and start insulting our friend that she is drunk, not true, she did not drink, and she was just happy to see us and spend fun time together. Great place for all you can eat ribs! A coworker took us here and I was blown away by not the main dish but the side. The baked potato with the curry butter was outstanding and something unique that I've never seen before! The ribs were just ok, mostly because they just didn't fall off the bone like most other places that smoke/grill ribs! Also I couldn't tell if the ribs itself were beef. I was told it was beef and there's a huge statue of a cow in front so I assumed it was beef. The interior was so cool it looked like you're walking into a very cultural old school diner. I didn't realize how big the place was till our server walked us to our table. Overall a very great experience but just the ribs could be way better that would make it a 5 star place!! read more

Great value at 17.95 EUR for an all you can eat ribs and baked potatoes. Sounds like a great idea, but the execution is off. The ribs were under-seasoned and not fall off the bone tender. It was a little dry, but I did like the crispy parts. The baked potatoes blew me away with the curry flavored compound butter. I usually pass on the low value items that just fills you up and you miss out on the main attraction, the ribs. Once I mixed in the butter into the baked potato, it was love at first bite. It was addictive and neither of us can stop eating it. There were many people with families or students. Although you can get in without a reservation, I would certainly encourage you to make one via their website which is super easy and guarantees you a spot to enjoy these delicious ribs! The ribs and potato are all you can eat, so don't be shy. If you want to have an amazing Belgian meal, then you need to try Amadeo! I think it's funny that all-you-can-eat ribs is a specialty in Brussels, but these were some of the best ribs in Brussels! If I'm being honest though, the baked potato was the show stealer of the meal and a hidden gem. I've never heard of someone putting curry in a baked potato, but it was absolutely amazing! I must recreate that recipe somehow because it was one of the most delicious side dishes I've ever had. I went with the full course meal which also included a drink, a tomato soup, which was also delicious, and either a chocolate mousse or tea at the end. I opted for the chocolate mousse and thoroughly enjoyed the lightness and taste. The place was packed on a Monday night and we were easily there for 2 hours, so be prepared for a long meal whenever you visit. Overall, this was a great restaurant with great food. read more

This is my guilty pleasure. It's not haute cuisine, it's not very healthy -- certainly not the way I eat it -- but every once in a while I indulge in a decadent meat feast here. The spare ribs -- ordering anything else here would be a shame -- are usually quite allright. Every one in a while I get a rack of ribs that is a tad bit too dry, or very fat, but those really seem to be an the exception to the rule. But it actually is the sweet, unctuous sauce what keeps me gnawing on those ribs, one after the other until I'm about to explode, so once the puddle on my plate dried up, I usually ask for a little jug of it. Even though they would probably be out of business soon if all their customers ate like me, they never try to discourage me from having another rack, or try to fill me up with oven baked potatoes (so I always stick to just one, no matter how good it tastes). I think it is not a mystery to anybody who lives in Brussels that Amadeo is your place for ribs. Hard to beat their quality/price ratio. Basically for 15 euros you can eat as many ribs as your belly can fit and that right in the middle of the city center of Brussels (an area that is rather expensive for restaurants lovers). I have been in Amadeo 3 times and I have only tried their ribs with potatoes and the desserts. Every time I was full and happy. I have a rule when I go to this place: I never go between Thursday and Sunday. It is simply too full and you risk to have a bad experience. I have been here on Mondays and Tuesdays. The staff is then relaxed and you get decent service and they actually beg you to eat more and more. I have been lucky and my 3 times the ribs were perfectly juicy and seasoned. The potatoes and the butter for the potatoes or sour cream was great. Desserts are also quiet good. When I go I never spend a lot of money here which always surprises me. I would not recommend their wine, I feel they could make a little effort regarding wine but it is clearly not in their business mind. The restaurant is huge, so big groups are welcome here. Bathrooms are not great but it is an old building and establishment. I have heard that the original Amadeus in Gent (maybe?) is even better than what we get in Brussels... read more

I wish not to award even one star to this restaurant, if I could, I would make it with minus! My story started with the bad idea of mine to go and eat some spare ribs in this restaurant. We were 3 women and we received the table at the entrance. My two friends were not hungry so they intended to order only drinks and I ordered the famous spare ribs "a volonte" and a beer. The receptionist, told us that it is impossible that a table for four will order only one portion of meal, claiming that it is the restaurant rule. Then my friends wanted to ask for a desert or a salad but the man had the rudeness to say that we should leave because he need the table for other costumers, or to order meals for all three of us. And what was on top of everything, he even made a xenophobic comment (we are from an east European country, member of the EU). The attitude of this man, by his colour a non caucasian so with non European origin, was rude and unacceptable. This attitude should be penalised by the potential customers. There are plenty of other restaurants....you can avoid this one! No restaurant that has respect for its customers cannot afford his employees, although the man claimed that he is the boss (even worse), to have this kind of behaviour. Of course that you are not obliged to stay in the restaurant if you do not like, but it is the first time that I have being treated so disrespectfully. Regarding the food, definitely you can eat better spare ribs in other places. The salad is very small and the name "a volonte" it's a scam because they do not fill your plate all the time, they just pass from time to time, not very often, and ask if you want more, and the refilling is in smaller portions. You are allowed to stay only 2 hours. I will not go back to that restaurant again. I think that the restaurant do not deserve it's fame...maybe a shame! read more

This place is "The Shit" when it comes to ribs. Best ribs we have had in the world, and yes, we've been to Texas and Alabama. They don't hold a candle to this place. I have to give this place one star based on my experience with the host/owner. I have been here on two different occasions and on both occasions this man has turned my party of 3-4 away. On my first visit I tried calling ahead to make a reservation and was told over the phone that they do not do reservations and that it is on a first come first serve basis. When I arrived at the restaurant it was packed so I went to give my name in order to wait for a table and I was told that they were all full for the night. It was barely 7pm and they open at 6pm. I asked if I could leave my name and just wait for a table and he told me " you can forget about eating here tonight". I politely asked if I could just wait and he rudely replied "what about this do you not understand"? I walked back outside where the rest of my party was waiting and noticed some people leaving inside so a different person in our party went back in and asked if he could seat our party and he said "yes"! My second visit a couple weeks later was exactly the same thing. All the tables were full and the same guy says that it's by reservation only and all the tables are reserved until 9pm. It was 6:30pm. And now all of a sudden they take reservations when just a couple weeks ago he said that it was first come first serve. So we stood off to the side and when a table opened up we asked for it and he sat us! Other than the seating drama, if u manage to be seated and eat. The ribs are amazing and they keep bringing them. The ribs come with a salad and baked potato with curry butter that is delicious. There are more tables and places to sit than most places but you are still back to back with the person seated behind you and the tables are really close together. The servers are pleasant but they don't really ask you if you want refills, they just walk through with the ribs. I would give this place 4 stars because the ribs are very tasty but as for the rude host/owner and the small eating space I have to give it a one star rating. I was here on a cold day and thought it was a pretty tight squeeze to get in. I came there for the ribs and can say that I have had better. The atmosphere was attractive, I love the books on the shelves around the restaurant. It was a lovely evening, but maybe came in on a bad night for the ribs we had.
