Service was outstanding! The bread and sandwiches were delicious. Busy little shop. All seating outside was taken but don't worry there is more in the back.

Located in a central part of Brussels near many tourist spots, this small sandwich shop is efficient. Walk inside and someone on staff will ask you for your order. They'll create it and offer it to stay (there are tables outside and a few inside) or to go. Sandwiches come on an option or a baguette or a roll. L'Italien on a baguette was refreshing and tasty! However, my wife didn't love the pate sandwich.

The Belgiums love their Sammy's, this spot came highly recommended, it was solid. Location was right in Alstadt, Centre, great sandwich, good price and fresh. There are a lot of sandwich shops in Brussels, but I would definitely hit this spot up, very nice after hanging @ Delirium for a few hours.

Simply the best sandwiches on the planet. Quick and friendly service. Short review because honestly, you can't go wrong.

    Niçoise salad

If you're looking for a lighter meal than heavy Belgian fare, the salads here are a welcome option. There was a lineup out the door when I got there of what appeared to be locals (including a bunch of police officers). It's always a good sign when locals choose a place to eat. I got a massive Niçoise salad for €9, which is inexpensive for Brussels (or much of Europe). It would easily make a tasty, satisfying takeaway lunch for two. Oddly they didn't offer takeaway cutlery, so bring a fork if you order a salad.... All the sandwiches looked good - it didn't look like you can go wrong. Solid choice for takeaway. I'd go back.

Wide array of sandwiches to pick from. Fresh delicious bread. Portions are large my husband and I could only eat half our orders. His a club sandwich mine chicken vol au vent. Both very tasty If eating in you receive table service in the back which was quite good. Only lacking in ambience.

You can have your sandwich on a baguette bread or a pistolei. A pistolei is a round sized bread, similar to a sourdough bread bowl that American clam chowder comes in. I got their machiavelli? Not sure what it was, really but it wasn't anything special. It had a thick layer of some sort of rich orange mousse but I tasted more of the sweet pickles that it came with. It also came with pickled onions and sprouts. I would say it was "just ok" but the person who made my sandwich said this was one of the more popular sandwiches that they sold. I also had some sort of vegetable soup but it was all blended together so I really don't know what it was. It was green in color and tasted like a mixture of chicken broth wihh lentils but without that starch texture.

Neat sandwich spot that has a few set sandwiches but they were more than willing to assemble one for me. There are also soups and salads. I was a bit overwhelmed by the choices but managed to say "salmon and brie... and tomatoes" and my very simple but very tasty sandwich was ready. A very large portion. The bread was excellent. A proper baguette with the right crunchy crumbly outside and moist chewy inside. Yum! Not very fancy, but for an €8 sandwich including a bottle of water, I'm not complaining. They also have a number of sodas in the cooler and beers, with appropriate glassware. Toilets downstairs are... okay.

Very fresh meats and various toppings

It's Subway on steroids. Very fresh meats, breads, toppings. Will definitely come back. Very friendly service. Extremely reasonable prices. Good table space for eating there or bag it up to go.

Madame Croque...not bad for 7 euro

First meal in Belgium... CLERK: "Yes! We have beer, which one would you like?" CHUN P: "What is that Kriek Boon?" CLERK: "Uh...ah...its like Cherries? Very sweet..." CHUN P: "Oh! I'll try it" CLERK: "Ah...you know...its mostly for Girls..." CHUN P: "Oh that ok, I'm like a Girl..." My cherry beer was quite tasty and only 2 euro. 7 euro Croque Madame actually comes with two small sandwiches and a side salad, nice! Kinda plain, but good! Initially I was reluctant to eat here, but the local cops were eating here too.

I found De Pistolei while looking for an early morning breakfast in the city center. When we got there the only other customers we saw were local police and that seemed like a good sign for the food. We ordered sandwiches at the counter. The woman behind the counter spoke English and that was a relief for us. I had the Italian sandwich with an espresso. The sandwich was very good, the prosciutto and pesto was especially tasty and the bread was very fresh. The espresso was alright it wasn't special and it was a much bigger espresso than I was used to. I would eat at De Pistolei again for breakfast in Brussels.

Located near the Grand Place, this place offers good quality sandwiches with fresh ingredients and good coffee. The service is very nice and professional and the prices are not that expensive, considering the location. There is usually a long queue for take out, but since they work fast and efficiently, so the wait is not that long.

Oh my God, these were the best pommes frites/French fries I have EVER had. Maybe because they were the first batch of the day or that they were freshly hand cut. Whatever, they were awesome. And a perfect sandwich created by the guy behind the counter. Awesome fresh bread, ham, believe it or not...hard boiled eggs, cheese, mayo and some other stuff. Just awesome. Did I mention the fries? And the whole thing was less than 10 bucks. The ambiance of the area was cool too, with all the hustle and bustle. Right near Grand Place too. Seriously, go here.

The owner is so passionate and friendly and tries to strike up a conversation with every single customer, no matter where they're from. I thought the customer service was next level. As for the sandwich, I want to preface that I don't eat regular sandwiches. I'm super picky and usually just get meat and cheese. NOTHING else. So his sandwiches weren't really my style. They looked very good but I know I wouldn't enjoy it if I just ordered off the menu. He puts a ton of fruits and cheeses into your sandwich and asks a bunch of questions of what you like before putting it together. I went for a blue cheddar cheese and since I wasn't getting anything else, he cut a gigantic chunk for my sandwich. The only downside is I think the only meat he uses is small salami slices. He put in triple the amount he usually puts but the cheese still took over the whole sandwich (I ended up buying more meat from the grocery store to fill it up). Every sandwich he makes is the same price and comes with a drink. I wanna say that his normal sandwiches are probably amazing. Mine was okay after I added all the meat into it. I also didn't eat it right away. But I think the customer service itself should receive 5 stars.

There were 4-6 people in front of us. It took us about an hour waiting. I hate to keep harping on the wait time but setting expectations is key. There is even a story posted on the window about the wait time. So why the wait? Tonton Graby provides individual attention. You can order off their limited menu or just talk to him about your feelings, likes, and dislikes. From there, you get a tailored cheese sandwich exceeding any expectations you might have built up. You don't pay until you've at least tasted it - even if you opt'd for take out. "If you don't like it, I'll eat it" the owner will tell you. You might opt for fruit or veggies on top. You can add meat. There is a small area to eat in if like us you were in no hurry. A sandwich with meat ran 9 euros as of this writing. They accept credit but prefer cash. Enjoy!

Was so looking forward to our return trip to Brussels and visiting Catherine's. Over our week long stay we managed 3 visits to pick up cheese, freshly sliced deli meat, bead and made to order sandwiches. The cheeses that we selected were so very fresh and the selection to choose from was amazing. Of course my favorite was the truffle. We picked up sandwiches on two occasions and they were basically the same. The second one Catherine added a new little taste with the addition of three small roasted peppers. We had forgotten to ask for arugula and Catherine asked if we wanted it on this one...what a memory. Catherine's is a small place and always very busy. Quality shines throughout. The customers are almost all locals...another great sign. We noticed that when there were about three people inside that the patrons formed a line out of the door. Think out of respect for Catherine. Wish we had had a quality shop like Catherine's in metro Atlanta. We would drive to experience this and here in the hustle and bustle of Brussels there is a gem. Highly recommend. Prices are extremely reasonable. Can't wait to return...sooner than later. Thanks Catherine.

This location is at the center of a lot of the major tourist attractions and is therefore great if you're looking for a quick, on-the-go breakfast or lunch without having to sit down (though that is still an option). Panos is a chain bakery/sandwich shop and was recommended by one of the aunties. Stuff you can find here includes sandwiches, wraps, soups, sweet and savory pastries, individual loaves and rolls, salads, coffee, and hot chocolate. Super basic, but high-quality stuff compared to a lot of other chain bakery places we saw as we traveled through Europe. Some of those sweet pastries were just really fancy looking for what's supposed to apparently be a very basic place, while even the basic stuff tasted really delicious. Their croissants were also super delicious, and I thought the raspberry croissant was particularly interesting. This particular location is on the street branching just off Grote Markt (Grand Place) and just across from the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert's southern entrance. It was near where we were supposed to meet up with our tour group, so we dropped by very quickly to grab some breakfast. My chief memory of that morning was that their waffle honestly made me feel better about the first half of the day.
