Leige waffle with speculous
brenda s.

Ate here 3x for breakfast during our 3 days in Brussels so we were obviously impressed. Husband got the omelet with cheese and ham every day and I got a leige waffle- twice with spekulous and once with warm chocolate and fruit. Magnifique! Service was friendly and quick, coffee was strong and prices were reasonable. Near all the action but on a quieter street. Check it out .

I wanted something to eat and encountered this place. I was glad I did. My significant other and I walked inside and were instantly helped. We were able to choose a table to sit at. The menu was on the table already, so that was convenient. From the Tea-Room section, I ordered from the Gaufres Et Crêpes "Maison" and went with the 58. Gaufre de Bruxelles - 6.60€. It was légère, croustillante, au sucre impalpable. From the Boissons section, I ordered from the Boissons Chaudes and went with the 86. Café for 3.90€. The Gaufre seemed light, which I enjoyed. It was a great item. The Café was alright. The service was solid. I didn't have any issues. Overall, this was a great place to experience. I'm glad it was my first stop. Date of visit: 04/04/25

Belgium waffles - strawberry / banana

This place is pretty big with an upstairs. We were directed to find a table upstairs since downstairs had a bunch of tables sat already. The menu is very large with many options. You can get a traditional breakfast with eggs and meet or pancakes or waffles. We opted to get Belgium waffles (duh!) and they had several options for toppings. It was pretty good. The strawberries made the waffle less dry which was good.

The food was amazing! Located in a corner and across the street there is a park, they also have some tables outside if you like to sit down. The service was quick.

*Cross posted on Google Reviews* We arrived quite early in the morning so the restaurant was quiet and peaceful. The service was excellent with an attentive & helpful staff. This is an excellent establishment to try a waffle & start your trip to Belgium and to finally get an ice coffee.

Waffle with Strawberries and very small amount of maple syrup. Yum!

When looking for authentic Belgian waffles in a seated environment, we loved this restaurant. The service was excellent, helpful, courteous and fast the three times we went there for waffles. The waffles were light and crispy...most excellent with any of a wide variety of toppings offered. My favorite was with strawberries and Nutella. The restaurant is ideally located on a corner of three streets, mostly taken by pedestrians. Every time we ate there, we were in and out in 30-45 minutes...could have stayed longer but 'things to do' and 'places to see'. I'd highly recommend this sole proprietor restaurant to anyone looking for a really good waffle without having to carry it away as many do. They also have this as an option. They also served many other options beyond waffles.

This place is centrally located and the waffles here are delicious... the picture says it all.

Gaufre de Bruxelles is in close proximity to Grand-Place de Bruxelles. And you can walk to this cafe/restaurant from the main square. They are open until late night. They are usually busy and the first time I visited there was a little bit of a wait. The second time it seemed like we avoided the wait and we got helped right away. They serve many delicious options of waffle creations, gelato ice cream, coffee, fries and more. We tried the waffles and ice cream here. The ice cream was delicious with many flavors. We picked 3 scopes of different flavors. All of them were decadent. The waffles were good, I ordered mine with Nutella and strawberries. When in Brussels, eat waffles any time of day. It's totally a favorite thing to eat throughout the town.~

Delicious waffles and yummy lunch. The cream on the waffles was delicious. We had the chicken kabob and a panini sandwich for lunch. They were both very good. Nice location, and clean restroom.

Inedible reheated waffles that taste like they've been sitting all night in the fridge. Avoid.

We had never eaten here before, but from just looking through the window, it seemed like the best place to find good waffles. Our instincts were spot on!! My husband and I ordered different waffles so we could both get to taste two flavors. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. It's hard to find words to say how good they were. We didn't want to stop eating them. Our new companions seemed to agree with us. They were all smiles at having stuck with us as we scrambled to find the shop while needing to catch a train to leave town by a certain time. The service could have been better -- but after the first bite of their waffles, I stopped caring about service.

I came by at 9:45 and was told they opened at 10, came back at 10:05, they said another 20 mins. I went to Frite and ordered my liege waffle (costs 3€ here as opposed to the 2.50 at Funambule). They just reheat the waffle in the iron. Service is much better here, nice and kind. The waffle itself was denser and sweeter than the Belgian waffle. I actually preferred this because of the crunchy bites and I didn't mind that some of it was a little floppy- it made for good bite ratios.

Friterie Tabora - Fries with Dallas sauce and fries with Andalouse sauce.

Since I was in Belgium (which is the country that invented french fries if you weren't aware), I…read moreknew that I needed to check out some good friteries around the city. There were some recommendations online for Fritteria Tabora, and since it wasn't too far from us we decided to check it out. It's a small shop that is to-go, and there was a long line that we waited out of for around half an hour. When you order, they'll essentially scoop the fries out of the oil and put it onto a plate for you. Afterwards, you can order different sauces to try it with. They recommended the Andalouse sauce, so we decided to get that one. I have to say that this was probably the best fries that I had during my trip in Belgium (esp after trying it at like 8 different places), so I think that it was worth the wait. These were the most crispy and had the most satisfying crunch overall so far. Even though the line might be long, if you want to try out what Belgium is known for then I think it's worth the wait.

Sweet curry, buffalo, barbecue... not ketchup and mayo. The line was long -- like the whole city had the same craving at the same time. Total Spider-Man meme moment... everybody pointing like, "Oh, you're me? You're me?" The fries were fresh -- not sitting there waiting on somebody. They cook them to order. You literally see the raw fries, then the cooked fries, and it's like an assembly line. One guy takes your sauce order, the other guy repeats it back like telephone, and you watch it get passed down and checked. You get hype listing sauces and then they hit you with, "Only three" before you get too crazy. Service is quick and friendly. They don't ask a million questions because it's simple -- we sell fries and sauces. What do you want? Ambience: tiny walk-up, as small as a food spot can get, but it works. No yelling, no "my order is wrong," none of that. There are tables out front so you can sit, eat, and people-watch on a nice night (or day). Amazing experience. Would absolutely recommend.
