Easily the best restaurant we went to on our 7 day trip to London and 1 day in Brussels. And this was the cheapest meal we had all week. Maybe Brussels is a huge foodie capital and I just didn't know it (because London certainly isn't). I ordered the 17.87€ Stoemp Sausages. They were perfect. I really liked the mashed potatoes and gravy that they were served on. My mom had the 19.45€ Carbonade A La Biere. Her meal was even better than mine. This thing was cooked perfectly and the sauce around it is so delicious. The free bread was really good too. This place got packed right around noon for lunch. I can see why. Right near the downtown area. I would most certainly go out of my way to eat here again. Beer is cheaper than coke here!
Ok this is simple dining at its very best.. if you are in Brussels and miss this restaurant you have missed a gem of Belgium. There are no reservations so expect to wait in a line that moves. The decor is simple but definitely Belgium and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food is to die for, the lamb was my choice with mashed potatoes and my wife had the beef stew . Both were amazing and delicious. You can skip the appetizer because the entrees are plentiful but the burrata salad was great as well as the lentil soup. Leave room for the ice cream with that famous chocolate syrup. I died and went to heaven. Coming from Paris I thought it was hard to beat but guess what it did...with simple and delicious food. There is no picture of the ice cream because we ate it too fast . One of the best meals in Europe so far.
I saw great reviews about this place, so I finally decided to check it a try! Not sure if you need a reservation, but I went later in the evening and only had to wait about 10 minutes--not bad at all. The menu is written on a chalkboard, so I'm guessing it changes daily??? I originally wanted the entrecôte "Argentina" but they didn't have. :( so I ended up getting the spare ribs. No regrets though! They were super tender, well marinated, and came with a fresh salad on the side. My friend went for the sausage served on a mountain of mash potatoes. It was meh. The service was great! Waiter was very attentive! :)
Incroyable....in all ways. Cool vibe with dishes posted on the chalkboard ---always a good sign! Attentive and informative service . And the food? So good . I had the steak with peppercorn sauce which was so deliciously rare it was almost sweet! A very memorable meal was completed with an amazing beer ...I could easily become a regular if I lived in Bruxelles!
This restaurant was recommended by my hotel and what a great recommendation it was! My party arrived at the height of dinner time, so there was a substantial wait, but it WAS WORTH IT!!! We had a nice table near the window. A tall, narrow blackboard on wheels has the menu on it, and the wait staff wheels it to the table. I went with a tripel to drink and the sausage entree. Both beer and entree were excellent. I wanted to lick the plate and the inside of my beer bottle. I was super satisfied and happy with the space, food, drink, and service. If I'm ever in Brussels again, I'm surely returning.
Out of all the places I've tried during my 2 day visit to Brussels, this was probably my favorite/most memorable restaurant. I personally ordered the Carbonnades dish. It came with such a tender/easy to chew beef with a side of creamy mashed potatoes. Everything from the presentation to the taste to the portion were excellent. It was full of carb/protein that I almost couldn't finish it, but eventually did. I also really enjoyed my drink of choice - Lindemans Pecheresse. Of all the Lindeman fruity beers that I've tried, this has to be the best flavor in my opinion. It was sweet - almost tasted like juice and not beer. If you are not a huge fan of beer, then I would highly suggest this one! Overall, I had an excellent meal! Service was great. My friend and I had no trouble finding a table because we arrived on a weekday around 1pm, but definitely saw a line forming as we finished eating. And it does get quite packed. But I think it's worth the wait!
This place was so good, we came back the very next day. Shout out to the salesperson at the Swatch store nearby - he said the locals frequent this spot and we saw it first hand. We talked about it non-stop the entire trip, and compared all our meals to it. The steak here was the best we've had all trip. Come early or there may be a wait!
This is truly my favorite spot to eat in Brussels Belgium; their dishes are very authentic and super good! If you want to try to eat some good Belgium specialties: that is the place you have to go! The place is not pretentious, but always super crowded; the menu is written on a chalkboard on the wall. Their prices are very reasonable and they also famous for their beers. Every time I go home in Belgium, that's where I choose to go
We got to the this maybe 5 minutes after opening and it was already filling up. The restaurant was a decent size with many tables. The host/ servers were all really nice, spoke French and English, and offered any assistance if needed. The food menu was posted on the wall and the drinks were on a paper menu they gave us at the table. The servers were knowledgeable about their beers suggesting different kinds based on our taste preference. The food was really delicious. We got two plates, one with the beef stew which had tender pieces of beef and a delicious sauce. The beef was cooked perfectly and was so easy to eat. There was also a hefty serving of creamy mashed potatoes. The sausage dish was also so delicious. The sausage was snappy and meaty. It wasn't that overly processed sausage texture and was so good. It also came with a gravy-like sauce and mashed potatoes that had scallions mixed in. The meal also came with complimentary bread and our server brought us out another serving after we finished the first. This place was so delicious, the food came out quickly, and the service was great. Definitely a place you should stop by if you're in Brussels.
We had dinner here our first day in Europe fighting off jet lag. It was cozy and the food was comforting. We both went with a traditional Belgium dish and got the beef stew and it was delicious! Hearty portions, we couldn't finish ours. Bill was 51 Euros with tip. Go early, we got there at 5pm on a Thursday and by the time we left there was a wait. No reservations, they do accept cards. In a great location.
A great authentic Belgian meal while you're in Brussels! This restaurant has been around for a long time, is always packed, often with a lineup outside. But they do their best to seat as many people as possible. I got in fairly quickly because i was alone. The food was fantastic. I had the Carbonade a la Biere, and it was so great! Like a beef stew and very tasty. Also had some good Belgian beer. Service was attentive and very fast. The restaurant is lively and exciting - not really a quiet romantic dinner. If you want to try Belgian food with reasonable prices then this was one good option in Brussels. I arrived early for Friday night dinner and the restaurant was just over half full with lots of available seating. While the register states No Cards one of the servers told the table next to mine not worry when they didn't have enough euros. Only a drink menu was provided and the dishes being served that day were handwritten on moveable boards or posted on the wall. I had on my list a couple to try but finally went with the Belgian carbonades à la biere which was beef stew with mashed potatoes in a dark gravy made with beer. The plate was quite generous and much appreciated since I devoured it. I enjoyed the creaminess of the potatoes swirled with gravy but the meat could've been a tad bit more tender. Service was good. I think everyone on the floor stopped by my table for one reason or the other. Ambiance was casual and looked like many people were taking their time over their meals. When finished you need head to the register to settle the tab. I paid in cash. Worth a return visit. read more

Glad we came here. Flemish beef stew with mashed potato 19€. Grilled shrimp with tabouli salad 21€. Best meal we had in Brussels. Portions are generous and the food is flavourful. There was quite a line but the line moved quickly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We would come back! read more

Enjoyed two regional specialties: rabbit in kriek, and saucisse. Both were very good, and the portions were very large. Interesting point: no frites here. (Potaoes mashed or baked only) No complaints, just a note (because we'd gotten spoiled on Belgian frites...). read more
Stopped by with 2 other girls. We walked right in and were seated. After we sat there was a long line of people waiting outside and for good reason. The place is nice, perfect for a date night or night out with the girls. The menu is in French and listed on the wall with prices. They also offer alcoholic beverages at decent prices. I had the Carbonades a la Riere which is like a beef stew with mashed potatoes on the side. Big portion, the meat was so flavorful and tender, the sauce of the stew super tasty, the mashed potatoes were soft and delicious. One of the other girls had the Lapin a la Kriel, which was rabbit with mashed potatoes. The rabbit was cooked perfectly, so soft and great flavor. Beware, they accept card but only for one single transaction so no splitting unless you pay cash. They do not have an ATM machine on site but there is one around the corner less than a 2 mins walk that charges $4.95 usd if you choose to not convert, otherwise there is a mark up which costs you more. read more

We came for dinner right when they opened. There were people waiting outside already when we got there. It seems like most of the people coming here were tourists but don't let that deter you. We ordered the flemish stew and the ribs. The flemish stew which came with potatoes was not bad. Beef was really tender but there wasn't a lot of it. The mashed potatoes are pretty smooth but not the smoothest I've had. The ribs were so addictive. Just the right amount of sweetness. Lots of meat on the bones. They give you around 10 ribs. Very generous portion wise. I would definitely recommend the ribs. They are so delicious and addictive Service was fast and friendly. They checked in on us often. Very nice Would definitely recommend this place to enjoy the beer and the ribs. Even though it feels touristy - for the price, I didn't mind it read more
Our service was very thorough explaining the menu to us as everything was in French. Our server gave us recommendations and the food arrived fairly quick. The endive dish was very interesting as I never had cooked endive before. Slightly bitter with a cabbage flavor to it. I loved the bitterness (my friend thought it was a tad too bitter). We both agreed the mashed potatoes were delicious. It started to get busy as we were leaving so we're glad we went early. read more
Always our first stop in Brussels. While in Brussels for a week we visited Le Fin twice. We enjoyed each visit as much as we have over the past years. They actually have a lot of the same employees as they did during our last visit in Oct 2019. This visit we even got to meet the owner. What a great treat. We knew before we arrived that we were going to order. We ordered the Salade de Chèvre Chaud(Salad with Grilled Goat Cheese) and the Stoemp Saucisses(mashed potatoes with leeks and grilled sausage). On the second visit and almost our last evening we once again ordered the Stomp Saucisses. On both occasions the food was excellent. The stoemp was some of the best we have ever had. The flavors of the potatoes and leeks melded together to make for an excellent meal. The sausages were huge and cooked to perfection...done and moist. A trick to obtain. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend. No reservations taken and they fill up fast. On both of our visits we arrived a few minutes before they opened and there was already a line. Staff were great. The staff at our hotel highly recommended Le Fin de Siecle for dinner during our short visit to Brussels, and I am so glad that we listened to them! This restaurant feels incredibly local, and has amazing food. Simple as that! They have a small menu on a chalkboard that changes each night, so you never know what you will get. They have local favorites, a vegetarian option, and a nice selection of beer from Belgium! I had the vegan moussaka which was out of this world - I have never seen anything like it! There was a pretty long line outside to get in, but it moved very quickly. Trust me, it is worth it. I can't recommend it enough! read more
The restaurant quickly filled up right after opening (even at lunch). The waiter was very helpful describing the flavors of the dishes and recommending a pairing beer to it. I had the rabbit stew - the sauce was so rich of flavors and the meat was amazingly tender. They seem to prefer cash but are fine with digital payments. read more
We had the Stoemp saucisses de champaign and salade chèvre and water. 39.35€. The Stoemp was amazing. Sausage and potatoes made simply and delightfully. It was a taste we've never had anywhere else. The salade chèvre gave us a new understanding of the perfect salad as a meal. The ghost cheese topped honeyed toast made this a great tasting meal that was really satisfying. read more

One of my favorite places this trip so far. We were almost stuck at an obvious tourist trap on the main road when the vibe didn't sit right and we decided to look up alternate places. So glad this is where we landed. First let's talk about the service. Victoria and Alejandro were exceptional. So detailed and thorough with their explanation of the menu and recommendations. Not only did they explain the dishes but also gave cultural context. It was wonderful that this was within a market but felt like its own experience. The jamón was exceptional. Buttery yet flavorful. Very hearty meal for sure. Not familiar with Belgian dishes so needed recommendations from the server. He mentioned that these are dishes his grandma cooks. *Jambonneau Sauce Moutarde: direct translation means "Ham with Mustard Sauce". It comes as a whole pork knuckle tasting exactly like ham - not the texture but just the taste. *Lapin a la Kriek: Rabbit in Cherry Beef. Gravy is very good, meat is a bit dry esp the breast part Serving is a bit too big so be cautious if you are a light eater. Tonight's dishes are traditional Belgian food but I find there's too much meat. I don't think I enjoyed after finishing the dishes. Half portion of each would have been perfect. Have to say taste not bad though that's why it earned my 4 stars. read more
While visiting Brussels we paid a visit to La Fin de Siecle. Upon our arrival we were shown to a table. While looking at the menu we noticed a sign that said "No Cards", we were surprised and decided to try a different spot. As we were walking out the waiter asked us if everything was ok, we explained that we were hoping to use our card, he told us no to worry that they would accept the card. We went back to the table, and we are glad we did. We had one of the best meal of our trip to Belgium and the Netherlands. I had a plate of delicious ribs. The plate was huge and I couldn't finish them all. My wife had some well seasoned chicken, wish shed loved. Beers we on point and my wife was introduced to her favorite beers from our trip, a cherry beer and later a peach one. If you are in the area visit La Fin de Siecle, you won't be disappointed. Go hungry and enjoy. read more
