After being up since 4am, we stopped into Peck 20 not realizing it was a Sunday around noon (peak brunch time) before a massive wave of people came. We were seated right away and our order was taken a little bit after that. We ordered the sweet potato fries, smoked salmon waffle, and avocado waffle. Our salmon toast and fries came out pretty fast. The toast and fries were good, the waffle was ok. We waited for 35 min for the avocado waffle and eventually gave up and checked out because it got extremely busy. Upon checking out it seemed like my order was never entered, which I found it odd because I checked with another wait staff and they said my waffle was coming during the 35 minute wait. Other than the missing food, our water was always taken care of. Not sure what went wrong because I did double check our order. read more

Second morning in Brussels and we looked for a place to have breakfast and we came across Peck 20. The reviews are great and I trust my fellow yelpers so we checked them out. I can only say that we were seated within 3 minutes of arriving but after 30 minutes of waiting to have our order taken we decided to leave. There were some couples who waited 10 or 15 minutes and left but we wanted to give Peck 20 a chance to live up to the reviews. It didn't happen, we were never approached, told it would be a few minutes...nothing! I can only speak of our experience and I will never be back to Peck 20. Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon with my husband after settling into our hotel. We were able to find a table but there wasn't a lot of staff, so there was a wait. However, the staff was friendly and our patience paid off...the food was absolutely spectacular! I got the magic mushroom waffle and, if you're a truffle lover like me, I can not give it enough praise!! Seating was tight and food was decent but a little salty, however the service was horrendous. The waiters were a bit pompous and didn't look like they enjoyed their jobs or customers very much. I asked the waiter for a bottle of water four separate times and he never delivered. I have been to this restaurant 3 times within a month and while was satisfied the first two times, the last time (just last week) was an otter disappointment. My husband and I ordered dishes which included eggs benedict and they were cold and under-cooked. His fried chicken was burned to char which the chef tried to hide under a thick blanket of melted cheese. My child's smoothie was discussing as if one of the ingredients was spoiled and when we told the waitress she argued that it came from a freshly opened bottle. Despite our request she didn't take it off the bill. All I can say I will not be back and recommend that you stay away too... read more

It's been a while I haven't made a review and this place forced me to do one. Good thing with this place is that it's in Louise and it's open from 7:00am to 10:00pm! Their main specialty is brunch and for a decent price, it's unbeatable. But that's the only good thing with this place because if I have to enumerate the negative points well it's quite a list (see below) : - No reservation (first come first served basis) - Over crowded - Extreme noise from their loud music and people need to shout so they can hear themselves talking with each other - Cappuccino (4€) taste like burned coffee so it was undrinkable (incomparable with the real Italian cappuccino) - Vegan green tea cake (mentioned on the wall behind the cashier) - I've ordered it but received a Lemon cake instead without the waiter informing me that they don't serve the green cake anymore (what a waste) I have mentioned this to the cashier but all she said is, "oh it's not on the menu card anymore and we don't serve it anymore".. Well why do you still put it on your wall and why your waiter haven't informed me when I've ordered it !!! Unacceptable client service !!! Nice cozy brunch spot. Came here twice with my boyfriend and it's quiet on a weekday. The service is very relaxed and one of the wait staff is definitely extremely shy but helpful. The food is decent and we enjoyed the smoothies. The poach eggs we got were perfectly cooked and the salad was fresh. The latte and cappucino is fulfilling and foamy. I subbed potatoes instead of English muffins on the eggs Benedict and they had the perfect amount of butter taste to them without being overwhelming. The eggs were cooked to perfection and sausage was perfect. I had the carrot juice (I believe there was apple and ginger in it as well) which helped the little hangover I may have had and was super refreshing. Great brunch place, sister shop to Peck 47. I've visited Peck 20 many times, and enjoyed all my visits. Delicious food, fair prices, solid cocktails. The ambience is casual and modern. I've tried the Peck's special (Waffle with bacon, goat cheese, poached egg), Reuben Sandwich and Eggs with fried chicken, all were really tasty. Their cheesecake, carrot cake, and browkie (brownie + cookie) are amazing! I'm taking off one star as sometimes their eggs are overdone and sweets not so fresh. Totally Recommended. read more

Nevertheless, I eventually had to admit that they aren't worth de fuss and will probably not visit this place anytime soon. The staff is frankly rude. Wannabe hipsters with no professionalism whatsoever. I understand this place is often very crowded but they can't cope with the pressure. Particularly the two waiters that often deal with the service. The bar is slow. Don't expect receiving your drinks before ur'e done with your meal. That makes the kitchen kind of quick. One of the good points. Unfortunately the dishes often lack of seasoning. They should eventually hire at least one more experienced waiter to coordinate this crowded place before they really start having issues. read more

Peck, je suis tombé dedans quand ils étaient petits. J'ai commencé très tôt avec leur 47. Fallait donc que je devienne régulier du 20. Mais passer du 47 au 20, c'est parfois compliqué. Comme passer de la maîtrise d'un premier établissement à l'ouverture d'un deuxième. Joli cadre, le bleu-blanc-jaune, ça nous change du minimalisme scandinave. Quoique bleu-jaune, ça fait un peu suédois quand même non ? Allé comprendre... Et puis des coussins pour la popotin, c'est toujours appréciable. Le fameux combo gaufres salées + oeufs pochés qui a fait la réputation du grand frère est toujours là, mais l'effet nouveauté-surprise est forcément moins présent. Et la qualité est plus aléatoire. J'ai vu des assiettes appliquées, comme d'autres semblaient un peu expédiées. La carte s'est étoffée. C'est à la fois bien et risqué. Je m'explique. Il y a par exemple la chouette idée de proposer des pancakes aux myrtilles, si courantes en Scandinavie et en Anglo-saxonnerie, et désespérement absentes en Belgique. C'est sympa, bien servi, mais pas encore dingue côté réalisation. Les "Smoothie Bowls", c'est original certes, mais du granola mixé servi dans un jus acaï, est-ce ce que les gens désirent réellement quand ils veulent manger du granola ? La cliente irlandaise qui l'expérimentait l'autre matin à côté de moi n'a pas été convaincue par sa "soupe mauve". Grosse déception également sur le "veggie brunch" : une barquette de maïs-poivrons verts dans laquelle on a tapé deux oeufs pochés, bof bof... Présentés comme des "roasted vegetables" sur le menu, je m'attendais pas à bouffer du géant vert le matin. Pas ultra sexy. Les sandwichs du midi, par contre, c'est pour l'instant du 100% gagnant : bon pain, garnitures originales et savoureuses. Banh-Mi et Ruben sont de sortie... (Et non sur un bateau, qui tombe ?). Et le petit verre de soupe on the side, c'est top. Autre questionnement existentiel : quand y aller pour le breakfast ? En semaine, c'est plutôt vide (bah oui en Belgique, tout le monde est employé), du coup, si t'y vas, tu seras en tête-à-tête avec la serveuse. Le WE, c'est blindé, tu seras en-tête-à-tête avec la moitié d'Ixelles, sur le trottoir. Du coup, au vu de ce qui précède, j'aurais presque tendance à recommander le néo-Peck pour le lunch, plus que pour le breakfast. Paradoxal. Quoiqu'il en soit, ces gars ont le mérite de proposer autre chose pour le brunch que le sempiternel et insupportable buffet-salade-de-pâtes-charcuteries-fromages-27€-mioches-qui-toussent-sur-les-tomates-mozza. Le parti pris choisi par rapport à cette déformation anomale franco-belge du brunch explique leur succès du WE. Et quand l'assiette est réussie, on est bien content. En plus, c'est sans doute le seul endroit de la capitale qui ose la totale décadence gaufres-bacon-poulet frit-cheddar-sirop d'érable. Rien que pour ça, on continuera à y retourner régulièrement. Mais qui aime bien châtie bien, le serial bruncheur que je suis attend quelques réglages supplémentaires afin que 20 = 47. Meanwhile, long live the Benedict ! read more

Absolutely our most enjoyable meal in Brussels! So, maybe I love my brekkies, but I especially love vacation breakfasts and Yelp showed Peck 20 as "Hot and New" and just a couple hundred feet away from where I was standing. No brainer, right? The other recommendation happened to be closed that day. The ingredients were high quality; the flavors were fresh and tasty. We both had crispy waffles made with leeks. Mine were topped with house-cured salmon and scrambled eggs and his were topped with 3 sunny-side up eggs and hollandaise sauce. Even the salad that came with the meal was incredibly fresh. We also had the breakfast smoothie made with yogurt, granola and bananas, and he had a cappuccino. Sitting in the outdoor plaza of sorts (it's a street of restaurants all with outdoor seating and blocked to automobile traffic) is so European and fun. The only downside was the chairs being rather cheap and hard to sit on -- but don't let that keep you from having the best breakfast possible in Louise Plaza. read more
