If you actually want support during the time your love one needs hospice care, steer AWAY from this…read morecompany as much as possible. My dad spent almost 2 weeks in hospice care at our home under the care of Elara Caring. I can write an entire book on all the miscommunications this company had leaving the care for my dying father to be left in the hands of his wife and children without the supplies we needed, the equipment needed, or the guidance we needed. Here are just a few of the issues we had: 1. We informed them of the supplies that we needed diapers, bed pads, wipes, etc... on the first day of hospice , we called almost every other day asking where the supplies was and we were told each time the supplies would be delivered that day, only for it not to be delivered. After a stern call on the day my dad passed (2 weeks later) and asking to speak with an administrator because we still did not have the supplies and we had run out of what we purchased from the store, the supply order finally delivered 2 hours AFTER my dad passed away. 2. We informed them of the downturn my father had at 7:30am and asked that they send over liquid medications instead of pills because he was no longer able to swallow the pills. We informed them that he was extremely uncomfortable and moaning nonstop so we needed these drugs asap because we felt he was in a lot of pain. Because of the drastic change in his behavior and the extreme amount of pain he was in we asked for a nurse to come by and help with the scheduling of the meds to help make him comfortable. We were told they would have someone there asap and they would get the meds delivered to us immediately. 3 phone calls later that same day, we were told "oh we should have called you earlier and let you know we can't get those drugs in liquid forms but we were busy so we need to teach you how to make a paste with the drug. They did say they could get more of the morphine in a liquid form so we did finally receive the meds at 4pm that afternoon. It took them over 8 hours and 3 phone calls to get him the meds and also never sent a nurse to help us in getting him comfortable. 3. The day before my dad passed a nurse aide came by to bathe my dad, she informed us that we needed to have a nurse evaluate him because at this point in time the nurse should be coming by daily. So we called again to see if we could get a nurse to come by and stated that even the nurse aide stated we needed to have a nurse come out. The response we got was "it isn't the nurse aide's job to evaluate a patient and it isn't her decision of when a nurse should come out." They did agree to send a nurse out that day but of course no one showed up. The next day I called and asked to speak with an administrator because we still hadn't received the supplies we needed and we couldn't get a nurse to come out to see us. The administrator did listen to my concerns and did attempt to take care of them. I did finally get a call that a nurse was headed my direction but it was too late, he had already passed. The only reason I did not give a one star is because the actual nurses/aides that would show up had great bed side manner and treated us with compassion. It is extremely unfortunate that the call center you have to call into consistently does not pass along the needs of the families. We felt completely alone and stressed out the entire time because we did not have the support or guidance from this company. You couldn't trust anything they said they were going to do and it took multiple phone calls to get anything you may needed. With all that said, do not go through what we went through when taking care of your loved one in their final days. Find a hospice care company that actually cares about their patients.

Run away from this company! It is one of the most neglectful agencies I've ever used. I cannot get…read moreout of bed without help. When my attendant didn't show...they left it for me to find a replacement. They sent a replacement once (in six weeks). No floaters and No one from the office ever filled in. When I had a catheter mishap and desperately needed a shower. No one came. Christy didn't even call me back. My supervisor, Cheryl, stopped answering my texts. Once again, I was on my own. When Amerigroup insurance switched my agency, they alerted Elara Caring. They refused to come out the last week.

On June 26th Platinum Healthcare was scheduled to come address my mother's wound care…read more This did not happen as they did not show up, nor did they call. At my request they sent a nurse out the next day, Amanda, originally wanting to go late afternoon. I requested morning as changing a bandage for a wound does not get better when it isn't addressed and they accommodated. My mother had just gotten home from the hospital Friday the week before which was relayed to them (Devan) Thursday of the previous week. Amanda confirmed with my mother, who is scheduled for 3 visits per week, that someone would also be out the next day, Wednesday June 28th. This did not happen, as on June 28th Platinum was scheduled and no showed/no called again. I called and spoke with Crystal and let her know this was now two consecutive times now. Her answer was "maybe Platinum was not able to meet my mother's needs". I requested emails for her supervisor which she promised she would provide. This never happened either. I next heard from Nehad Qudah, VP of Nursing, around 530pm that same day. Nehad confirmed against our wishes that Platinum would not keep her as a customer but would help get another home health set up and out there the next day, Thursday, to give care and change her bandages. She promised she would work on this the next morning and call me at 10am. This did not happen either. At 10:21am Thursday I called Nehad, no answer, and text her, no answer. Almost 2 hours later at 11:55 she text me back giving me instruction to call the doctor and have another company set up. Her promise that my mother would have care that day was not going to happen either, and I now had only half a day to try to find a home health nurse to attend to my mother that day. So, in turn, the care that Nehad promised the previous day for that day would not happen either. I heard from the owner of the company who seemed to be the first and only person concerned over these events. He asked what happened, I told him, and told him we needed someone out there that day. This did not happen either; they chose instead to have us find an alternative home health with a half days' notice knowing we would not be able find this. Today is Friday June 30th, and we still have not been able to get a new home health company set up. Platinum is well aware how long it not only takes to set a patient up and schedule a visit, and they knew we would not receive the care we needed that they chose to deny us so abruptly. I only share this with you so you may be able to consider when choosing Platinum to care for your loved one. Very, Unreliable!…read more We used Home Helpers of Dallas (8111 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy) for transportation to and from the DFW airport with checkin/baggage assistance for my 83-year-old mother who uses a wheel chair. On the second occasion (February 23, 2018) my mom had a disastrous experience and was left stranded at the airport. She waited for over an hour and a half of at the airport in her wheel chair before getting help from a stranger to hail a cab to get home on her own. I called the Home Helpers main office in Dallas (from California) many times while my mom waited and was told each time that the driver was "nearby", "10 minutes away", and even "in the building" at one point (at least 40 minutes before my mom decided to get a cab). Home Helpers later said they would investigate the incident but never provided any excusable explanation for my mom's horrible experience.

Today, I did a Google search to compare prices, reviews, availability and ingredients. When I came across RNR IV Bar, I loved a professional Nurse would be coming to us ... in our own home. CHECK Then I liked the website had all of the INGREDIENTS and PRICES and APPOINTMENT LENGTH listed for the Myer's Cocktail, as well as all of the IVs offered. CHECK Initially, my husband was concerned about someone coming to the house for safety reasons and we have dogs. But when I saw the nurse was a female I hit BOOK APPOINTMENT. Incase you're new to this like us, the Myer's Cocktail is for: Migraines Fatigue Fibromyalgia Acute muscle spasm Chronic sinusitis Upper respiratory infection Seasonal depression Seasonal allergies Cold & flu Will give you more energy CHECK We were able to select an appointment time immediately on the website calendar. CHECK. So Easy!! Didn't have to talk to anyone. There was no HARD SELL. There was no MEMBERSHIP discussion. Just simple and low stress. CHECK Booked the appointment. Filled out all pre-appointment paperwork (maybe two dozen questions) and put a payment method on file. Super efficient, Super Easy. CHECK The nurse showed up on time with all of her equipment in tow. She was professional, sanitary, thorough and funny. There were a few pre-checks (blood presser etc), she then consulted the doctor via video call and finally put the IV in my husband's arm. He said he didn't feel a thing. I really like the adorable teddy bear bandaids she used. BOTTOMLINE, after 6 hours it's still too early to determine to ROI. BUT, we highly recommend RNR IV Bar and I look forward to trying one as well, perhaps the one for HAIR, SKIN & NAILS.
