Our mother was very gently taken care of by all of the staff. Everyone at Accord was respectful and did everything needed to make our mom comfortable. I really cannot say enough about the level and care and support provided for my mom and the entire family. I highly recommend Accord to anyone looking the VERY BEST in Palliative and Hospice care for their loved one. It was the best decision ever, and Accord was suggested from a dear friend who had used them. PLEASE DO NOT PASS UP A CHANCE TO WORK WITH Accord. They are exemplary!!!

We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. We collectively know that it was Accord Palliative and Hospice Care that went above and beyond for our family. Thank you guys so much for caring for us in our time of need. -Davis Family

Most of the workers are not actual nurses, they are CNAs who have no idea what they are doing. Most were very rude or dismissive. My grandfather's leg was bleeding because he was on blood thinners and they gave him a tiny bandaid... another time he fell out of his chair and called the front from his cell phone multiple times and pressed the button. No one came. When she finally did she said she was in another wing, it was over 30 mins... There were also multiple patients there who ask for help and no one comes. I had to help a gentleman on our wing with his oxygen because it was twisted in his wheelchair. We also had asked for towels so we could bathe my grandfather and the CNA gave us full access to a room that holds the medicine and supplies, but no towels. I pray this place closes.

She was placed a Madison on Marsh .. what a poorly run and disgusting place. The staff does not care, the food was disgusting, and the level of neglect which occurs there is off the charts. A simple walk up and down the hallway will conjure screams of "please help me!!" from patients desperately seeking assistance. Ringing the call button does no good there. When we were able to get my mom discharged from this facility, we vowed to never return. It really should be under investigation by HHS. Stay away!

I have been sleeping on the floor for two months now with terrible arthritis because I don't have a bed. Medication, durable medical equipment, clothing, jewelry from my deceased mother, my computer, food, furniture, everything, in the trash and all because Maddie, the housekeeping manager, acted on her own and against company policy after being informed that we still had time and we were not finished moving. I cannot believe someone could be so cruel working at a place with such a vulnerable population. I am hurt beyond words. Neeli Smith, the director, is very sweet and she apologized for Maddie's actions and couldn't understand why she would do such a thing when the policy is clear and it was definitely violated. The company offered $1000 to replace my computer but nothing else and I refused their offer. When I refused their next offer of $3000, the asset manager asked how I was going to pay past due rent. I thought that was incredibly unprofessional and shows me that the safety of residents isn't their concern. I have tried to work this out but have been left with no other choice but contact an attorney. It's a sad situation. I am left to suffer over one employee's very bad decision and she goes on to work at the Emerson.

If you actually want support during the time your love one needs hospice care, steer AWAY from this…read morecompany as much as possible. My dad spent almost 2 weeks in hospice care at our home under the care of Elara Caring. I can write an entire book on all the miscommunications this company had leaving the care for my dying father to be left in the hands of his wife and children without the supplies we needed, the equipment needed, or the guidance we needed. Here are just a few of the issues we had: 1. We informed them of the supplies that we needed diapers, bed pads, wipes, etc... on the first day of hospice , we called almost every other day asking where the supplies was and we were told each time the supplies would be delivered that day, only for it not to be delivered. After a stern call on the day my dad passed (2 weeks later) and asking to speak with an administrator because we still did not have the supplies and we had run out of what we purchased from the store, the supply order finally delivered 2 hours AFTER my dad passed away. 2. We informed them of the downturn my father had at 7:30am and asked that they send over liquid medications instead of pills because he was no longer able to swallow the pills. We informed them that he was extremely uncomfortable and moaning nonstop so we needed these drugs asap because we felt he was in a lot of pain. Because of the drastic change in his behavior and the extreme amount of pain he was in we asked for a nurse to come by and help with the scheduling of the meds to help make him comfortable. We were told they would have someone there asap and they would get the meds delivered to us immediately. 3 phone calls later that same day, we were told "oh we should have called you earlier and let you know we can't get those drugs in liquid forms but we were busy so we need to teach you how to make a paste with the drug. They did say they could get more of the morphine in a liquid form so we did finally receive the meds at 4pm that afternoon. It took them over 8 hours and 3 phone calls to get him the meds and also never sent a nurse to help us in getting him comfortable. 3. The day before my dad passed a nurse aide came by to bathe my dad, she informed us that we needed to have a nurse evaluate him because at this point in time the nurse should be coming by daily. So we called again to see if we could get a nurse to come by and stated that even the nurse aide stated we needed to have a nurse come out. The response we got was "it isn't the nurse aide's job to evaluate a patient and it isn't her decision of when a nurse should come out." They did agree to send a nurse out that day but of course no one showed up. The next day I called and asked to speak with an administrator because we still hadn't received the supplies we needed and we couldn't get a nurse to come out to see us. The administrator did listen to my concerns and did attempt to take care of them. I did finally get a call that a nurse was headed my direction but it was too late, he had already passed. The only reason I did not give a one star is because the actual nurses/aides that would show up had great bed side manner and treated us with compassion. It is extremely unfortunate that the call center you have to call into consistently does not pass along the needs of the families. We felt completely alone and stressed out the entire time because we did not have the support or guidance from this company. You couldn't trust anything they said they were going to do and it took multiple phone calls to get anything you may needed. With all that said, do not go through what we went through when taking care of your loved one in their final days. Find a hospice care company that actually cares about their patients.
