All kinds of Retro Classic Diner vibes emanate all throughout this timeless restaurant from their unmistakable oldies tunes playing in the background to their classic style leather booths, this place is unquestionably a local landmark. Friends of mine have named this as one of the best breakfast spots around and I couldn't agree more with them, whole heartedly in fact. Currently I've become a huge fan of their Blueberry Pancakes which are outstanding and have kind of crepe-like texture to them. They're made with fresh picked berries from Hammonton NJ baked-in and topped with real Blueberry Syrup for the win. We're talking about some seriously epic YUMMMMMMERS !! As you would expect they serve an excellent eye opening Freshly Brewed Dark Roast Coffee here and also offer lighter blends for customers looking for a milder less intense brew. It's a little house and then they have a few tables outside... With great umbrellas! It started to rain while we were there and we were totally covered by the umbrella. I wish the zucchini omelette had shredded zucchini instead of chunks. But the home fries were very tasty, the coffee was good old diner style coffee, and Orlando was a super server. Walked in before 10, was given a friendly greeting and had a cup of coffee in my hand in less than a minute. Great coffee. I find extremely strong brews overwhelm the subtleties of coffee (I imagine that puts me in a small minority, but I know what I like). Honey's coffee was great. Choosing from a couple of dozen enticing choices wasn't easy; I went with a Mexican omelette. Served with pretty good home fries and very lightly buttered rye toast, I couldn't finish it. Little by little the small space with about a dozen and a half tables slowly filled up, yet I was never rushed. The second cup of coffee was s good as the first, and it was topped off by another friendly waitress (love teamwork). The place did get quite loud, but the sounds of happy people enjoying great food is one of the joys of life. A small parking lot abuts the restaurant. I intend to go back and I highly recommend it.

With that being said the service we received here yesterday was outstanding and better than any five star restaurant. I cannot say how wonderful our waiter was.. I can't remember his name because let's face it. I had a few drinks because that's what it's about there. I believe it was. Giancarlo? So the manager if you see this, please let me know if that's correct or not. This kid was incredible. He was helpful without being overbearing. He was great with his beer knowledge, but we really sold me was when there was a table behind us that had a son with special needs at this young man treated that table with kindness and compassion and really we need more of that. To the owner of this business, I know that the wait staff gets a very minimal amount per hour because they depend on tips, but if there's anyway you can raise his base pay, I would love to see that we were only gonna have one drink each, but because of how he treated us we ended up having two for me and three for my husband, that young man is an investment

And hence, our meal was the not so regular Greek Salad and Spinach Pie. It seemed so strange to us that the Owner / Cheff kept peeking out of the kitchen to see "who is ordering the food." Possibly to service two types of food. Left overs for the tourists, and good food for the regulars. Maybe I am making this up. Anyway, here is what we got --- Greek Salad - soggy and wilted lettuce mixed with old greek feta cheese. Spinach Pie - double oiled and fried pie with old and terribly salty spinach stuffing. It has been a long time since I tasted food this bad. It seems to come around during the holidays, when restaurants get rid of their inventory on customers who may never return again. And, that is true all around. The food was old, and dumped onto us. We just paid the bill and walked out. We will not go there again. The staff I encountered were friendly & patient, which is shockingly not the norm these days! I ordered the tuna melt & fries & took a seat at the counter. I was the only one sitting along the counter, but there are also a few tables in the back that had parties at them. My food was ready relatively quickly & was served to me with a smile. The fries were of the steak cut variety, which aren't my favorite, but no fault of the delis - just my personal preference. They were cooked well & served hot - can't ask for much more! The tuna melt was actually a sandwich & not an open faced sandwich, as they tend to be, and I found that to be a pleasant surprise. Open faced tend to get soggy quickly. The tuna was aplenty & it was delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted & buttery as well. I do wish it was served with a pickle spear, though. Not sure if that's the norm & mine was forgotten or if it is not served as such. Either way, I'm obviously grasping at straws. Otherwise, it was a delightful lunch. I'm happy to have discovered The Cutting Board & even happier they are in the immediate area of my job, I will definitely be back to try more.
