He left a dirty mess all over the floors and in the bathroom. I understand that it may be part of the job but what was more upsetting is that he didn't acknowledge us throughout the whole time he was coming in and out. Even when he walked right in front of us as we watched tv lol. The worst part was that he charged us $500 to exchange a toilet and didn't even ask for approval nor tell us the amount that it was going to be. What a horrible experience. When you talk to him over the phone he says very few words, almost like he doesn't understand you but then has a lot to say through text.

On 5/16, I contacted Parks Electric for a dedicated electrical circuit job for my stereo system. John contacted me and I had a estimate in a very timely manner. The job was scheduled and the work was done very professionally. I appreciated the employees who did the job and how kind and courteous they were on my property. I am very pleased again and would not hesitate to call John again. I appreciate this West Sacramento business and would recommend them very highly!!

They worked…read moreon a number of projects, from moving an electrical panel and reconfiguring an entire attic full of miscellaneous wires, to moving lightbulbs in tiny closets to installing an EV charger to troubleshooting a front porch light that mysteriously went out during the construction. Most recently they crawled through tight attic spaces to figure out our front porch light and ultimately figured out a fix that avoided knocking a hole in our wall! Would absolutely pay a premium to have them back for any project big or small. As a bonus Jon bonded with our reactive dog who is really going to miss him!

Crime Alert has proven their worth, but initially I had to advocate strongly on some key issues and…read moreit was stressful. Intro: The initial site survey and estimate was professional and fairly priced. We had a crazy estimate from ADT ($6500 for hardware and $85/mo for monitoring), one guy from an independent company who never showed up, and then Crime Alert who was recommended by a trusted tradesperson we know. They have a reasonable monthly monitoring rate ($25) and they have been ON IT anytime the alarm has been triggered, including recently. Initial hardware was $900 for total coverage, including all doors, windows, glass break sensors, and motion sensors. We upgraded a year later to add monitored smoke alarms and a few additional sensors ($900 extra including installation) In practice: Pro: Recently, I couldn't remember the "secret word" to release a triggering alarm recently and I was very impressed with the dedication of the woman on the phone who was really trying to make sure I was OK and not being held hostage in my own home. I was given step-by-step instructions at 9 at night for how to replace the battery from a wireless sensor (what had triggered the alarm when I followed up on guidance I had received from Crime Alert earlier in the day). This saved a $95 service fee. I've been able to easily access help for random issues with the sensor and was helped efficiently for a step by step process that reprogrammed the base unit when phone line changes in our region necessitated a change. Whenever we've had a triggering event (wrong button pressed, accidental alarm trigger) Crime Alert has been on it with a real person following up. Impressed. Con: We had some major glitches starting out. The alarm system would not work- could not arm- and we had 2-3 service calls while under the initial install warranty to check the system for the first 3 months. It took sometimes a 1-2 weeks to schedule those service calls. It would apparently work and then stop again- alway indicating a door was open and it we confirmed it wasn't physically open, but could not arm the system. To say the least this was frustrating when we had invested in the system and it wasn't working. They finally sent out their "Ace"- a guy who was the alarm expert, and he noted several major deficiencies in the initial install- magnets and metal interference. He re-installed several key components, making them wireless and the system has been a "dream" ever since. We also had to wait two weeks or so for that service call. Suggestions: Improve turnaround on service calls, especially on the grace period after installation. Also- I was on the phone multiple times trying to fix the problem and went to the physical address to try and address the issue. #1- believe your customers when they say the system is not working. #2- decrease turnaround fro service call #3 make sure your best install people are on the job initially, especially for a complex install. Overall, I feel secure arming the system and I am VERY impressed with the phone and tech support. It's a company run by local folks, not a big security system in the sky (or Detroit, like ADT). they do their best to be accountable and responsible with fair pricing. Even though we had a few "bumps" in the road, I trust and value the services of Crime Alert.
